The darkness and the shadows were created for one thing and one thing only; to hide the imperfections, the wickedness, and the depraved.
Most people fear the darkness and steer clear of it but no me. Not anymore.

Reed is a domineering alpha male that instantly becomes obsessed with Ali and has to protect her and her boys at all costs! Ali is a strong FMC and her boys are so sweet. The way Reed shows up to care for her and her boys had me kicking my feet!

Reed is a professor at a college. He also owns a security company that not only provides security systems, but underneath, he uses it to hand out justice for victims.
Ali is a single mom of twin boys (Caleb and Jacob). The boys were named after her brother (Caleb) and father (Jacob). When Ali was 8 her name was Sarah, her mother, father and brother were unalived by the mafia and their house burned. She barely got away (thanks to her brother). She was put in foster care under an alias, Kate. Her last foster home was good until Vivian met Dennis and married him. Dennis became violent towards Vivian and then turned on Ali (SA’ing her every night). When she realized she was preg, she got help from someone named Demon (Jackson). He was able to get her a new identity - Ali.
Ali has help with the boys from Grandmama and is starting college. She has no money and is only able to afford college because she qualifies for aid, full ride.
Reed immediately falls for her, even claiming her boys. When Ali has a stalker, Reed publicly claims her and moves her into his apartment. Grandmama knows Reed and helps out. She is Gabe’s grandmother (Reed’s friend). They aren’t sure who the stalker is and Ali hasn’t told them her past yet. Leon (her FBI agent) comes forth (he knows Reed) and forces Ali to tell her story. This gives them 2 leads: the mafia or Dennis.
Turns out, Demon unalived Dennis a couple days ago but Dennis had a twin brother Linus. Dennis would let Linus SA Ali also and Linus realized she was still alive and came after her and his boys.
They unalived Linus and find more information on Reed’s sister, Tara, believing she is still alive.
Tara was brutally SA’d after leaving a bar with “friends”. A video surfaced of someone hurting her and another taping it but no faces. They are able to find the 2 and unalive them. Later, Demon shows them evidence she may be alive.

Ali our FMC has gone through such unimaginable trauma. She did not let that bring her down. She got right back up and fought for a better future for herself and her two precious boys Caleb and Jacob. Reed first meets Ali as his student in University. Right than and there he decides to claim her as his. He’s an Alpha protective MMC who is enthralled with Ali. Ali is definitely a Queen in her own right. Such a sweet kind woman who’s trying to pick up the pieces of her life as best as she can. Her top priority is her sons. I love her. There is a lot of twist and turns in this book. Definitely watch for triggers.
I have loved A. Greene’s books from the first book she wrote Breaking Emilee. Each book she writes keeps getting and better. I honestly have to say that Reed by far is my favorite book. I could not put it down. It reeled me in from the first page. I can’t wait for more books in the series. A. Greene you are an amazing writer and author. I’m so glad I got to read your books from the beginning with Breaking Emilee. Thank you!!!

Determined
