The Deceiver

Rate this book
Abbie King arrives in a new town, a stranger to all, the face of someone who will soon be dead in her mind.

In other words, it's business as usual.

Until it isn't.

Abbie becomes involved with Sammy, a man whose family is suffering because of his father's lies. His brother and sister have already been hospitalised following separate attacks, and the enemy isn't done yet. Soon, the sister is taken from the hospital, and her kidnappers soon make their demands known.

Which is when everything turns on its head.

Because this is about Sammy's father's lies. It's also about Abbie. Someone she's got on the wrong side of before is back, and they're determined to make her pay.

As the people she has come to save begin to turn on her, blaming her for the kidnapping, Abbie goes hunting for the enemy. It's what she's always done, but in the past, she's had the element of surprise. This enemy knows her. They know how she operates.

And they're going to use their knowledge to bring her down and make her pay for what she's done in the past...

The Deceiver is the sixth thriller in the gripping Abbie King series, packed with compelling characters and suspense, and perfect for fans of Dean Koontz's Nameless, Chuck Wendig's Miriam Black, and Lee Child's Jack Reacher

About the author

Mark Ayre

44 books11 followers
An avid writer since crafting a moving story of a penguin trying to find his way home (sadly no longer in print) when he was a mere six years old, Mark has started hundreds of novels and written millions of words.

Recently learning how to curb his imagination and actually get something done, he now writes character-driven suspense thrillers, often with supernatural elements.

Like all great authors, he writes about himself in the third person, as though he has enough money to afford a publicist.
