Nikki wants Bob to help a failing colony from her Guide days. It turns out some people don’t want to be helped. Bob is able to explain it to the colonists, but our shepherd is handy with new and different things to worry about. Ride along, and see what BSR gets up to this time.
I’m a house husband. I keep things together while my wonderful wife makes our living. I’ve worked as a machinist, short order cook, electronics assembly tech, and several other jobs. My hobbies include vehicle maintenance, (I’ve had the transmission out of my truck. Twice) free flight airplanes, electronics, and shooting. I was born and raised in the Ozarks, and now live in Mid-Missouri.
Everything is working and then they find possible alein ships of unknown origin.
Bob gets everything going in the right direction for the Boatmen and they being to think about what comes next. Nikki decides she enjoyed driving an entire planet. She wants to go back to a planet that needs the help she can do now that they can do big things. Now on the way there they find 2 ships that appear to be from a system that has aliens that are possibly descended birds. The hunt is on and they have to try and figure out how to communicate with them before they reach their home world
I wish each of these books were longer, but at least the author releases each new one at an amazing rate.
If you're new to the series, you should start with book one and read them in sequence. The author has a unique style of writing, plenty of commas and no chapter breaks, but it doesn't interfere with enjoyment of the story and is easy to get used to it.
This author just keeps cranking out the next great book in one of the most intelligent and entertaining SF series out there. I love following the adventures of Bob, Nikki and the BSR gang-- they have waaay more fun about any other group of SF characters out there.
Always a comfortable page turner. Once again the fleet is far from home with a brand new problem to address. Admiral Bob with flawless and well explained logic leads the company into a way forward. Of course, Murphy has to have a say. I love the relatable characters even if they aren't from around here. So, put up the Frisbee and enjoy
The fleet is helping a group of colonists and discovers a new species. Big chicken looking aliens. The the hard work begins tracking g them down and learning their language. All while helping the colony with new landscaping. Looking to learn more about the chicken s.
I liked this installment, certainly, and yet at the end of the book I was hoping for just a little more storyline. As Bob often says, “I need to learn patience.” Good addition to the series, a few new characters and a potential for much more in the next book.
It will be very interesting to see if the Soviet chickens hatch from red eggs.
OK I couldn’t resist that terrible pun!
But I couldn’t resist this great story either, and I bet most of you will have as much fun reading it as I did. Keep going Mr. Boyd! Your imagination seems endless!
This author likes to get books out! 90% is went to lunch, went to gym, went to grass room, went to armoury. And lots of other fluff. Over half of tis one was about new species. Of course ya have to wait on the next book to do that.I give up I will never get another book from this author. No thanks to the Author.
In his typical style Jerry Boyd gave us yet another story for Bob and Nikki. He continues to make what could be mundane day to day into interesting reading. I enjoyed this new book, its as good as the rest of the 49 books. I recommend this book and the full series.
Book did not bring enough interest in new human character. A lot of speculation but no resolve on bird people and their technology. I guess that is for the next book. Same old banter and rehash of stories while introducing a new character. " been there, done that " however it was good for review.
This book was fun! I was really wishing for a video of when Bob went after the person who dared touch Nikki 🤣 Then I was Wishing for a video of Bob training with the chicken. I still smile at the thought of what that would have looked like. Another excellent Read. I am now heading into the next book. Looking forward to this one too.
Bob and the fleet head out to investigate some possible planets for colonization and to offer help to an existing colony that needs it. Along the way they find a couple of derelict ships that seem to belong to a species that they don’t recognize. The usual problems come up that need resolution. A great story.
As usual, a good job well done. I always enjoy the latest happenings of Bob and Nikki. I think another good title would have been "BOB PLAYS CHICKEN ". Great work, Jerry thank you.
Well, Bob & Nikki and the gang found another sentient race. This bunch is better at it than National Geographic! Somewhat of a cliff hanger this time, gets you ready for #50. Two thumbs up here. 👍👍
While helping out some colonists the BSR fleet discovers a new challenge. poor Bob Wilson has to think three moves ahead. it’s never easy but BSR never quits. enjoyed this adventure and I’m so ready for the next two.
That's surprised at all and very pleased to have another collection of not quite understandable beings to work with. The emperor is doing a particularly good job of helping with BSRs funding although the Commonwealth crooks do their best to.
While strange, it does continue the BSR group exploring the Universe. BUT, do not expect any kind of a closing of any question or situation because it is really the first 'cliff hanger' I've read from this author.
I'm very fond of these books. They are atypical in several ways. There' very little "pew pew pew" or an overwhelming antagonist (not counting murphy) i guess it's bobs home spun philosophy that makes this series such a good read
Always good reading, plenty of fun stuff happening always. Love following Bob and Gene on all the adventures. Would love to get to join the crew if I could.
I have read all of the. Bob and Nikki books. They are feel good reads. They are good people who always try to do the right thing. I'm looking forward to discovering the origins of the Chickens species.
Chickens did somebody say chickens!! LOL I can't wait to see where this goes with the new alien chickens. I can't wait to see also how the main characters and these new characters are going to interact.
I read them way too fast. The entire BSS universe gets bigger and more complex. A totally amazing series. I get a grin on my face every time I see a new release.
Another setup for the next book, but perfect mood.
The trend to build a foundation and then construct the actual story is well established across the series, this is no exception. It's a mellow and endearing read.
Jerry has produced another page turner, if I hadn't had to work I wouldn't have put the book down. I'm looking forward to seeing where the series heads next.
Which came first, the Chicken or the Egg? Jerry is feathering his nest with this story, but he better not count his Chickens before the Eggs hatch. In this episode he has Bob and Niki trying to figure why the Chicken crossed the Galaxy. It's a fun tale-feather and entertaining enough to show Jerry didn't lay an egg. There is a lot more flying around in this episode, doe da do da day!
