The book gives a few practical examples and exercises on how to find your purpose and know yourself, and then based on the results of these exercises, look for a job that fits your "why." These exercises won't give you an immediate answers, but rather require lengthy introspection and may take months or even years to become apparent (in other words getting old and having the wisdom of age and experience). So this is not a quick quide but rather something to ponder while you live and work. Then from there it goes into the realm (principles) of work hard, be a team player, be assertive, be visible, change perspective, and have a good relationship with your boss, because ultimately they hold the key to your success. If you ever held any kind of job in corporate America, you already know this, so you can adapt or be stuck. No new wisdom or advice here. It almost sounds like a guide on how to keep your current job and learn how to be successful in it while navigating culture of profits and bottom lines, corporate politics, competing with interns and coworkers, all while trying to hope for a good boss and good mentorship. Um....mentorship doesn't really exist anymore because it requires time and the leadership that cares about employee's growth. Everyone wants already "molded" and completely fully operational, packed with knowledge, degrees, and experience, assertiveness, soft skills, ready to produce results, human robots. Unless you work for yourself, finding your own definition of success with this book won't help you much.
