Bleeding Queens is the story of Diljit, a young girl from Delhi, whose wish was to follow in the footsteps of her idol - Deepika Padukone. But fate, which had something else in store for her, forcibly took what was hers, and she vows to get justice and win back her dignity and her family's happiness, peace, freedom and smiles. To fight those who butchered her body, mind and soul, Diljit murders her fears and nightmares, not just for herself, but also for the whole of womankind. She gives herself new wings to fly above the dark clouds of low mentality and barbaric thinking, calling out to others to raise their voices, rebel, and to usher in the much-needed change.

Palak Kundra is an author who has written the book Bleeding Queens. Her book has created quite a buzz because it draws its motivation from the Nirbhaya episode, one of the darkest patches on Indian law. Her book has been liked and appreciated by many critics and readers alike. Palak loves to write about the social issues. She aspires to be recognised as the author who writes for the social causes.
Her articles on the main issue - - crime against women and kids, are getting more attention. She actually want a real women revolution on larger scale but just not merely through words and protests. She believes that only women in India specially can bring equality to their gender when they'll start respecting themselves as a woman.

In short, I will keep things like - I am highly impressed by the book - right from the concept to the theme and to the broader perspective that the book offers in the terms of adding something significant to the ongoing flux of literary practice in the country. Yes, the plot could be a little better and broader. Nevertheless, Bleeding Queens, as it is, is something remarkable and significant, no doubt! Palak Kundra, as an author with her very debut work, has shown the way to many ones who have been writing for long. A character, even if she is a female, can take the charge and lead the proceedings in the story emphatically and convincingly. Diljit, the protagonist of the book, commands the situations and not only punishes those who have played with her physically, mentally and emotionally but also leaves a strong and encouraging message to the ladies - don't leave baffled in the darker corners of your homes if you are meant to come into the light and shine on!

This one is surely a must-read for the readers who believe in reading significant literature with meaning and purpose.

I received this book through Goodreads giveaway.
Though I liked the storyline and the theme around which it was woven, I felt the language was trite. It was a good attempt but it lacked depth and I could almost predict the intentions and events which followed.
Overall it was a decent story with a impactful message.

A very good and bold story of Diljit, the girl who changed the perspective as well as the narrative. She decided not to become a rape victim and throw herself in the darkness but decided to become a rape survivor and challenge her rapists. She becomes successful too! Her story is amazing and inspiring as well! Must read book!

The book is the story of an aspiring actress Diljit Kaur who is assaulted and recovers after some time, with the help of her family and friends. The book has a front cover, back cover and introduction written in English, however the rest of the book is in Hindi, in devnagiri script which the reviewer has only limited experience in at present, so reading the book took a very long time. The author should have clearly specified that the book was in Hindi, devnagiri script as it affects the time taken to read the book , and some would have not participated in the Give away.
