April Rivers is ready for the road trip of a lifetime!
A crosscountry adventure is exactly what she needs to get the wanderlust out of her system.
...And everything was going great until her car broke down just outside of the small town of Love Springs.
When Ben Walker reluctantly takes the call to tow April into town, the last thing he wants or needs in his life is a cheerfully optimistic blonde that barely has a penny to her name.
April is everything Ben isn't.
She's too spontaneous, she smiles too much, and she's way too interested in trying to get to know the town's local grumpy mechanic better.
If her car didn't need major repairs that she can't even pay for, none of this would be an issue. He'd get rid of her before the end of the day. But when unexpected sparks fly and Ben offers to do the work anyways, April sees it as an invitation to invade his life, his garage, and his entire grumpy existence for the next few weeks while he waits for new parts to come in.
April was never planning on staying in Love Springs for long. In her desire for adventure, she wanted to drive until she found a place that felt like home.
Somehow she found grumpy hot Ben Walker instead.
But what if the ruggedly handsome mechanic with a reluctant smile fit to melt hearts is exactly what she was looking for?
Ginger Hudson loves writing fun and cozy small town romance with a grumpy hero and sunshine heroine. Her books are meant to make you smile and leave you always satisfied with a beautiful happily ever after ending.
She lives with her occasionally grumpy husband and their cat, Ed, who loves watching videos of chinchilla dust baths on YouTube. One of her favorite things to do is curl up on the couch with a good book, a cup of tea, and a cat in her lap.

This was a pretty quick read and I was grateful for that. I didn’t know how much more I could take of April. She was so annoying with her giggling and her over-the-top flirting with Ben whom she had just met. She came across as being easy and he came across as being desperate.
The story starts out with her on a road trip headed for nowhere and anywhere when her car breaks down outside of Love Springs. Ben owns the local garage and tows the car and makes her a deal that he will charge her just for parts, since she was short on money. Nice of him really.
She had no place to go and absolutely nothing going for her, but he made sure she had a place to stay at the inn, where she could work for her keep, it seemed. Nice of him again.
I never got the vibe that he was grumpy at any time, yet she was always telling him he was. There was no chemistry between them that I could feel probably due to lack of character development and sparse character descriptions. I just couldn’t connect with them or any of the characters.
This was like a Rated R Hallmark movie and only because of the sex scenes that quickly became monotonous. I’m not a fan of Hallmark movies for a variety of reasons and plastic people is a big one. I thought the characters in this book were like that.
Many people will love this. It just wasn’t for me.

In this book we meet April Rivers & Ben Walker. April is on a road trip to find herself. What she really wants is a place to feel like home. When she made it to just outside of Love Springs though and has her vehicle break down. She isn't sure she is lucky or not when the local mechanic comes to get her. Ben is looking for any complications in his life and April she has them written all over her. He agrees to fix up her vehicle but wants her out of his life ASAP. Can these two find a HEA or will they find a connection they never thought they could find?
Amazing story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Well written, full of drama, love, romance. intrigue and twists. Just what every girl needs to go on a road trip like this one. April decides to go on this road trip so that she can travel and have a great road trip. But trouble hits as her car breaks down. Ben is a grumpy mechanic who doesn't want sunshine and happiness that he sees in her. Has lots of fireworks between them as they learn to deal with each other. Good read. Would recommend to others. I am an ARC and leave this unbiased, honest review.

I'm in the middle of a small town romance binge, and this totally fit my mood.
I really enjoy the grumpy/sunshine trope, and this book did it really well. I loved the characters and their interactions with each other. I loved how different they were from each other.
I hadn't read any other books in the series, but I will be going back to the beginning of the series and reading them all. I don't think I missed out by reading them out of order.

DNF @38% Nothing super terrible, but this book could not keep my interest. The beginning chapters were so short I was getting whiplash from the back and forth. I also felt absolutely no connection with the characters. We barely got any background on them, almost no description of their physical appearances, and not very much internal monologue. I'm picky when it comes to third person POV because I think it's difficult to do it well, and I didn't feel like this was written in a way that I could connect with the characters.
Loved this book. April packs up her life and goes on a road trip to find herself a home but to only have her car break down, Ben is a mechanic and a grumpy one but when he meets April she changes something in him. Can Ben find happiness with her? Will April stay in this small town for love or will her wanderlust have her leaving?.

This is a well written, enjoyable read. As with most of the books I've read by Ginger Hudson I was hooked from the first page and couldn't put it down until I finished it. The characters are likeable and the storyline is outstanding. I'll definitely recommend reading it and look forward to reading more from Hudson.

Ginger Hudson continues her charming Small Town Romance in Love Springs series with the steamy Grumpy Mechanic. When April's car breaks down, it's grumpy mechanic Ben to the rescue. And as her sunshiny spirit slowly gets under his skin, the chemistry crackles between them. An entertaining, fun, steamy romance that fits the grumpy/sunshine trope well.

The story line was good enough, but for a 200 page book there are 74 chapters. Way too many. It was a new chapter every 2-3 pages. Also, Ben, (the Grumpy Mechanic), had Tom working with him in the beginning of the book. Then Tom just disappeared. Nothing written about him leaving or moving on. He just was never mentioned again. The story line was good enough, but more editing is needed.
Road trip, car problems and a grumpy mechanic, what more can you ask for? Ben and April will heat up the pages as you read through to the end. It was a great short story that I did not want to put down.

April is doing what she always dreamed of, and that's going on a road trip to find out where home is. Ben has lost and is afraid to let anyone else into his life. Throw in a car broken down, a mechanic with a mission to help others, and fate who is now running the show. Never give up on hope.

I’m not the Hallmark movie type and that is exactly what this book feels like. Saccharinely sweet and insta love abound. I mean, come on, they confront the town gossip and she shares her inner secrets for Pete’s sake. Ugh. 2024 reading challenge-a book related to the name of one of Snow White’s seven dwarfs
A grumpy and sunshine romance, the story of April and Ben. She is only supposed to be passing through but far troubles lead to Ben helping her out. But will an stay? I liked how it was told from both points of view.

This was the best book I would recommend it to anyone who love’s happy endings Thanks to the author I’d give it more than 5; if I could so hope you read it and enjoy it as much as I did Happy Reading
This started off really good and then we get to know the characters and the writing style, both of which kinda fizzled. The main female is annoying, the writing style kind of amateurish, the plot repetitive and the drama forced. There is some spice in the bedroom and the editing is good.
My grumpy and Miss sunshine. A deliciously seductive, sinfully sensual and highly entertaining journey to go on with Ben and April. I enjoyed every single moment of this steamy romance.
The story of April and Ben was a grumpy/sunshine trope with some steam! I loved how April was a wanderer and her stop in Love Springs. There was drama included thanks to the town gossip but I had a hard time with her…because vindictive gossips don’t usually show remorse! Overall it was a light romance with some steam that many contemporary romance readers would enjoy.
