Cheating Hearts Series #2

The Regrettable Mistake

Rate this book
The Regrettable Mistake is book 2 in the Cheating Hearts Series, but all books in this series are complete stand alone stories.

Ollie
I let nostalgia rule as I made the biggest mistake of my life!
Not knowing how to fix the initial problem led to more problems before it was all over. I was smarter than this.
Now, I had to find a way to silence my ex and convince my wife that my feelings, while faked in the beginning, were more than real.
I never realized that one mistake could careen into something that would change all of our lives forever, but that is exactly what happened.
It was the worst mistake of my life.
My wife was both the problem and solution, if only my ex wasn’t standing in the way.

Steph
My twin warned me that Ollie didn’t love me.
I should have listened.
My husband only wanted a convenient, live-in nanny/new mommy for his son who his ex-girlfriend abandoned with him when she went to go live her dreams of being a big-time actress.
As I stared at the evidence of my secret while waiting on my husband to come back home again, I knew everything my twin told me was true. I was a convenient wife and nothing more. I had to decide if it was time for me to be selfish or to continue to live the lie for more than one child.

Mood readers: This book is for readers who want to be outraged at the behavior of a cheating husband (whose sins are far worse than a ONS with his ex), who love drama and love watching a relationship burn down due to the multiple selfish and stupid acts of the MMC... but ultimately want the MMC and FMC to end up together. But for me, this wasn't a romance, it was suffer-p0rn.

This is definitely a rage-read for me.

He married the nice woman to be a nanny/ bed-warmer for him, but planned to chuck her out when his son reached 18 without any compensation for wasting her youth on a man who didn't love her, didn't want other children and didn't want a lasting relationship with her - all the while she believed the opposite about their marriage. Don't even get me started on his obsession with the hot ex who abandoned him and their months-old son so she could pursue an unsuccessful career in Hollywood. And then the ex comes back into his life- and he decides he wants to meet her at a hotel at night, lying to his wife of four years about his "working late."

And oh boy, does it get worse.

The story is well-written for the first 80%, but then then ending (the reconciliation) feels very rushed, told not shown, so there isn't much of a grovel other than "he feels really bad" and "allows her to divorce him" so they can start over. A whole lot of drama happens in between - if you love drama, this book is for you!

*New book release*

This should have been perfect. It has what I look for in a cheating romance, all the elements. And it wasted no time in getting to the nitty-gritty (thank goodness because I have no patience these days). The problem was the execution of the story. The writing. I'm sorry to say, but this felt surface level. Considering the themes here, how is it possible I felt nothing? Well, okay, I felt something, but it was very mild. Am I dead inside? Maybe I've read too many cheating books. This might sound harsh to mention, but I believe Siena Sloane and Alison Rhymes would have pulled it off. I'm disappointed because it's not easy finding cheating romance books or authors who are brave enough to take the risk to write them (thank you Ms. Storm and to the aforementioned authors). There's definitely an audience for it. There are lots of groups on FB all about the betrayal, cheating and OW drama themes. These readers are desperately seeking these angsty tropes. And we're tired of the same old recommendations. If you write it, they will come. Fuck the haters.

3 Stars for effort.

It had the angst and the strong emotions that come from such a betrayal. Despite not being a lengthy novel (it is under 200 pages) it didn't feel rushed or overwhelming from packing too much together. I would have liked a little bit more grovel for this type of betrayal but still I loved it

22% UPDATE.

So the cheating happened before the book opened. The reveal has happened already. The MMC faked a relationship to trick the FMC into marrying him to begin with. So when the OW/baby mama showed up he f”d up with her, with very little persuasion. The OW had then been holding it over his head and he was stuck. My issues is that the MMC only acknowledges that he loves the FMC-his wife, AFTER he f”d up. We don’t know yet how soon after or if it was in direct response to the OW threatening his marriage and their shared child’s welfare and happiness. We don’t know if he realized he loved the FMC because she is “Good” vs the OW/baby mama who is “Evil”. My gripe with this is, if it was after he f”d her before the OW revealed her true intentions then MAYBE I’d be able to accept him as the MMC of the story. BUT if it was after the OW laid her cards out on the table, then this MMC should be the OM of the story, while the FMC finds her true MMC. Just saying there is a huge difference. I mean who wouldn’t choose good over evil? Let’s see how this continues.

76% UPDATE

I am so done with Steve, the FMC’s twin. I dislike when side characters encourage forgiveness for the cheating MMC in general. Because then the book doesn’t usually show much effort by the MMC to earn his place back. But for a side character who was so gunho in throwing the MMC under the bus from get go, to now be spouting nonsense on how they will always be stuck together even after divorce. While the MMC will be the one to move on with another OW, is just plain crossing the line. No matter if this happens or not, NO ONE should push someone to stay with a neglectful cheating spouse. It doesn’t matter how many times the actual s e x act occurred.

From this story, it flip flops on it being a s e xathon one night stand, to it possibly being just the one round on that one night. Both are bad enough but to me it’s worse for the sexathon because then that implies he didn’t feel regret until the OW/baby mama started to blackmail the MMC. It also shows if the OW hadn’t been as vile as she was, he would have probably chosen her and left the FMC to follow his dream of having a happy family with her and NOT the FMC.

But that’s not my current point. The FMC’s brother is forgetting his role of protector that he started out with and is now turning into an enabler and supporter of a cheater. He is now minimizing the level of cheating done by the MMC to convince his sister/FMC into getting back with the MMC. ANYONE that can minimize any part of cheating is a cheater supporter and should not be trusted. That is never okay. Kids or no kids. But especially since Bro is using the “kids” as his excuse to get her to see reason. I just can’t with Steve any more. Steve needs to take a short walk off a steep cliff along with the MMC and the OW.

77% UPDATE

FINALLY we find out that it was a one pump dump or a sexathon! This book is just slowly dragging out the betrayal piece by piece, minute by minute so the reader is getting a constant gut punch all the way through. Well done author!

FINAL UPDATE

So the book ends at 95%. Then its promo’s for upcoming books by same author.

As for the main couple, they sort of start being around each other at the 85% mark. My problem with this is we don’t see any of the work and growth of the main couple to end up back together. The entirety of this book is all about the conflict reveal, the fall out for everyone involved or as immediate friends and family. And even with all this it was mostly done off page or the characters dealing with it individually alone or still separately but with their own friends or family. Like the FMC had her twin and his best friend and her MIL and the MMC had his best friend and his parents (sort of). The main couple only had three or four on page encounters but the majority of the book they were apart or had other people present.

Basically, this is not a romance. It’s a lot like this author’s other book “His Bittersweet Regret”. So if you liked that one then you will like this one too. As I liked HBR I definitely liked this one. Dealing with the aftermath, having to rebuild yourself and your future, is right up my alley.

While I feel I was left with some things unanswered, it was still a somewhat satisfying read. I wish we had gotten the actual cheating event on page at the beginning of the book. I wish we had gotten more of the OW’s comeuppance on page, not just a final result of her crimes in a news headline. I wish it was explained why the FMC never got her cards and checks for the household account in four years of marriage. Like was some random woman trying to sabotage his wife from his company or at the bank or something? While that is a mild issue in the overall story, I would have still liked it to be resolved. Or that one line in the story that kind of implied an STD exchange. Or when the MMC’s ED worked itself out.

The book was okay and a pleasant fun read. I love a lot of it but I would have liked it to be longer to show more things on page rather than off as summarized events. Good luck.

I enjoyed this story quite a bit. This one did create some very lovely angst. Steph was a total sweetheart who raised her stepson after his mother had abandoned him. Steph and her stepson had such a close and trusting bond. Olli never let himself completely fall for Steph, despite being married to her for years and knowing what a sweetheart she truly was. He just bided his time with her, waiting for the day his movie star ex-wife would return to her family again. Everybody viewed Steph and a glorified nanny, with sex benefits, and she pretty much WAS exactly that title. Olli totally fucked up his marriage as soon as his ex contacted him His fight to get Steph back was sweet, but he probably should have worked a little harder and groveled a whole lot more. That being said, this story had oodles of feels and heartbreak. A little more grovel and this story would have definitely been a 5 star read for me.

I went into this fairly blind (didn’t read any reviews) and thought it was going to be a Hero hung up on his Ex situation. Turns out it’s more of a Hero’s an idiot situation (a la Whatever It Takes or The Things Everson Lost) which really killed some of my angsty goodness because his actions are so illogical and quite frankly stupid that it pulled me from the story.

I’m bummed because sometimes I like to read the messy stuff (cheating, betrayal, heartbreak) and not a lot of authors are willing to risk aggravating their audience. So, kudos for going there, and for committing to the character because Ollie was an asshole.

So, the good. She (the author) gave him PLENTY to work with for personal growth and Steph did not instantly forgive him. The couple were at odds for most of the book, and Ollie spent that time trying to fix things. The OW was a nasty piece of work and she received the deserved comeuppance.

My biggest grump was I just didn’t feel like the author dug deep enough for me to feel satisfied with the resolution. I felt like her goal was to keep throwing sticks on the fire to see how big the dumpster fire could get rather than worrying about dealing with what she had already started. It got frustrating because I wanted more discussions like…

Bottom Line- Ok, but it could’ve been great had the plot had them just discuss some of the tough stuff instead of sort of dancing around it. Steph had A LOT dumped on her, but I never felt like they really fleshed it out.

Ollie and Steph

I found this to be rather boring at times. The potential for angst was there but I didn’t feel it. I guess I just did t buy Ollie’s story. For 8 years he has pined for his ex. We have the cia sex tape and that angst should have felt huge but it fell flat for me. There are some authors that can pull at your heart strings.. this one just missed opportunity. Ollie never loved Steph and I just do t buy that he had an epiphany right after he fcked his ex who he has been waiting to come back into the picture for 8 years. Also he was such an ahole about his son who was abandoned by his egg donor calling Steph he s Mom. The child bonded with Steph and she was a mother to Den. I just found Ollie to be too much of a beta. His ex was the alpha.
I need the H to be more than a weak ahole cry baby led around by his alpha ex.

Redemption

This book was so good. Yes it had cheating but let me tell you there is enough grovel from Ollie.

You could feel the heartbreak that Steph went through. Also everything that Ollie felt for destroying his marriage. It was important that the divorce happened, I agreed with Steph there.

The only thing I would have like to hear the suffering the ex went through, especially with everything she caused. Yes she was sentenced but for me that fell flat.

I don't normally buy books on release day but with this one I did, so I only have myself to blame.

This was just ok for me. I was expecting a lot of heartbreaking, stomach dropping and rage filled moments and what I got was for lack of a better word a lot of meh 🤷‍♀️

Everything felt light. It didn't dive deep enough for me. Not to mention it felt very rushed especially the reconciliation.

I will say that I wish more authors had the courage to write cheating and betrayal books.

So all in all I don't regret reading it but I will probably not read it again.

This is just cheesy fluffy fun.
Ollie the dumbass and Steph the master of denial.

OK, so Ollie marries Steph for convenience. Someone to take care of the house and raise the kid he had with the woman who got away (Jia)... well actually she ran away. No that's not right, she sauntered away.
Steph thinks it's love. I don't know why though. Doesn't sound like he put much effort into.

The kid (Denmark) is cute and Ollie is a sh*tty father. He won't let him call Steph mom, even after 8 years of marriage. EIGHT YEARS.

Basically the whole story hinges on Ollie being an idiot. Because if he was more intelligent, what he did would be completely unforgiveable. And really, I don't think I forgave him by the end. But it was like he was another person by then.

He takes Steph for granted and doesn't even make much of an effort in bed. Sometimes she gets off, but it sounded like only 50% of the time. Mind you, she didn't sound like she was all the adventurous in bed either.

So after eight years keeping his marriage in a holding pattern, his ex, Jia returns. He meets her a hotel. Supposedly he didn't intend to break his vows, but he met her at a hotel.... need I say more.
They only have sex the one time but she films it and uses it to make him do what she wants. Three months later Steph's brother tells her what's been going on. All this is told to us early on.

It gets much worse because of course Jia is a crazy selfish nut job and Ollie has inadvertently given her all the power because... he's an IDIOT.

Lots of groveling and a divorce and it takes years for him to get her to marry him again.

It was enjoyable in an angsty way, but I really didn't see why she went back to him. And I couldn't forgive him for not letting his son call her mom. Like he wasn't just using her but using his kid too. But ultimately I didn't feel his love for her but more his guilt and missing the way things were.

Safety is not good.

3.5 stars. You know I was expecting more angst, but it didn't quite hit the spot. Stop right now if you don't like cheating because this is what the whole series is about. Never read the first book because I prefer the HEA to be between the main couple, but that didn't happen. I may change my mind though because quite a few people rave about it. So back to this book. I wasn't quite feeling the love between Ollie and Stephanie. They were too wishy-washy for me. I know the words of devotion were written down, but I couldn't feel them. Ollie is still hung up on his ex who's a POS. Not sorry. Some people in this world should not be parents and this proved it even though it's fiction. The best part of this book was probably between Ollie's son from his ex and Steph. Their relationship was sweet and the kid was smarter than everyone. Points for Den. The ending was quickly wrapped up which was too quick for my liking.

Overall it was ok. I find I struggle with this author's work. Though I already pre-ordered a shifter book she has coming out in October. That one sound's hella angsty.

I have no problem with a good redemption arc for a cheater.
HOWEVER! A cheater who does almost zero grovelling on page and a heroine who goes down on one knee to propose to said cheater at the end? This is where I shall draw the line. Pathetic, loser behavior from all parties involved including the author.

Cheating = off page and but recounted as a video was taken and h is sent the video of H with OW; reason given? H wanted to hate f the OW and self sabotage his feelings as he was in denial of loving the h.

Grovel = oh man, oh man...the H committed soooooo many betrayals besides the cheating! (using a pet name with the h that had an intended derogatory meaning for the h, marrying h to have a live in nanny for his son as well as a convenient hole for the H, saying insulting things about h to OW, saying mean things about the h to his bff, never bothering to keep promises such as getting h access to a joint account, failing to follow through on buying the h a car, etc.) Fantastic drama...the hits just kept coming at the h, it was heart wrenching. H does verbally and repeatedly apologize to the h, but H's words are worthless when his actions have shown differently. H has to repeatedly get confronted to what repercussions his actions have had before the light comes on and he realizes he must prove himself beyond platitudes. H works tirelessly to show he will do whatever needs to be done to lessen the h's pain and humiliation. It takes roughly 2 years before the h finally and fully lets the H back in.

OW drama = OW is baby mama of H that abandoned the H and her son without a care, but she returns to cause drama as she thinks having a husband and kid will help her image as an actress. OW proceeds to have ONS with H that she films then uses that as blackmail to force the H to continue on with an "affair" for months. OW throws h under the bus as being a home wrecker to the press and maligns the h's reputation. h is politely fired from her job, is stressed about losing custody/access to H's son who she considers her own, h is relentlessly stalked by paparazzi, and the final kicker is the OW sending the blackmail video (revenge porn) to the h causing the h to almost lose her pregnancy from the trauma/stress. Comeuppance? The birds came home to roost when the H exposed all the OW's lies to the press as well as the crimes she has committed which ends up with OW being imprisoned.

The only complaint I had was the ending felt a bit rushed, but overall, fantastic grovel book and such delicious angst.

Cheating books are my jam as of late so I was looking forward to Anne Storm’s latest release. I enjoyed it and have no major complaints but I never really connected with the story. As much as I liked Steph and eventually didn’t want to kick Ollie in the balls, I never felt any of the angst I usually get from an Anne Storm/Christine Michelle read. Glad I read it but it probably won’t be going on my reread list.

2.5 - 3 ⭐️'s in enjoyment, I read it twice bc I so wanted to love it but I just didn't feel it. I gave this my 5 star support tag bc it has a lot of the tropes I love and enjoy in a cheating hero romance. These are a few my fave tropes:

• Hero loves another woman
• Hero uses heroine for his own selfish gain
• Heroine truly loves hero and puts up with a lot
• Hero really cheats for no other reason than he wants to
• Hero is cold towards heroine and she feels it
• Hero truly intends to leave when he falls for the ow
• Heroine is heartbroken and is really hurt
• And finally, the author shows (not tells us in a monotone voice) us how he changes, grows, feels remorse, GROVELS and tucks all our raw feeling back into place.

And these elements are present in the book, but I struggled to feel it. Unfortunately some authors (actually most authors in the sub genre) just don't manage to pull of the depth of characterization that is needed for the reader to read the text and feel the angst of it. The reason it's so glaring in this type of book is bc the whole story depends on how we connect to the heroines pain, the hero's conflicted feelings of what he's done. What he will continue to do even though he knows he needs to stop. We don't feel the transition when the hero finally kinda grows a hind brain and goes "ah hah! I do love her, I hate what I've to her" and gets the hurt and destruction his behavior has done to his beloved, much less someone he cares about. But the absolute worst? No grovel. I have a few ideas about why an author gets this so wrong and I believe it's bc said author is so close to her characters that she forgets that her readers aren't. She needs to show, not tell. Heck, even telling would be good for some authors, lol. How does an author do this? I dunno. I'm not that good of a writer, but I sure do know when it's not there. And it wasn't there in this book - for me. I support authors who take on this trope bc of all the hate it gets. Why people feel the need to try and ruin a persons career over fictional characters is beyond me, but it does exist. They even brag about how they get the books for free. SMH, but it won't stop, so an author is held to a higher standard than say, Lani Lynn Vale, that spits a book out every month (no shade thrown).

All cheater themed romance lovers have certain scenes that we've read that just make our spines tingle. That's the feeling we're after. One of mine is in Gravity- when she walks in the house and finds her husband with the other woman in her bed. Something about that scene just guts me. Another is The Ultimate Betrayal - when her "best friend" calls her and tells her that her husband is out with another woman, the devastation is just awful. And when he comes home and she just can't deal with it. The venom of the betrayal just drips throughout the book. I have a lot of other faves, but these two jumped out at me for the scenes I just mentioned. Neither of these books are favorites for others, but they do something for me and they are also well written. Ultimately, what makes us love a book is very personal, but knowing how to write the characters so that we feel the pain and hurt, the eventual redemption, is vital. Show not tell.

Regrettable mistake…

Ok, you should already know that he cheated. The circumstances are very clear and he is the dumbest man alive. I guess he had some fantasy going on, but he really messed up his life when he acted it out.

Minor editing issues that careful reading would have caught. Characters are pretty well fleshed out so no issue there. I especially loved her twin brother and how supportive he was. I’d love to see a story about him that doesn’t involve cheating!

I liked it, but I didn’t love it… but it was pretty good!

I honestly don’t think the MMC (Ollie) deserved a second chance. Usually I like the second chance, the groveling and the redemption but he fucked all the way up from the very beginning. So I would’ve been totally fine if the FMC (Steph) moved on. 🙄 The book was all right, I like the authors writing.

This wasn’t a grovel to me. I don’t understand how grovel can even occur when they are away from eachother for 50 percent of the book and he’s just repeating the same things through texts. And when they do end up in eachother vicinity right at the end of the book it they’re straight back together.

I enjoyed this story quite a bit. I read it in one day, it definitely created some very lovely angst.
The reason I'm giving this 3⭐ instead of 4 is because of the whole lot of stuff the h went through. I mean, it makes for such great angst, but nothing the H does could ever make up for it.

The only part I liked from this whole thing was this line from FMC:

“Your actions are what would make you miss out – not me. We could have been happy. We could have done this together. You chose someone else instead. You chose your lies, your walls, your feelings , and your ex. You. You. You. The only choice you’ve made is for yourself.”

So, when you look back years from now, and wonder why I was the evil bitch who took it all from you, remember that you never once chose me. I had to choose myself. I chose my peace of mind. I chose a pregnancy without drama and other women involved. I chose to be less stressed and only be around people who really, truly love me.”

-----

“Ollie, can we just stop with the lies? A person who loves someone not only tells them without even thinking about it, but they don’t turn around and betray them either. If you loved me, you never would have been tempted by your vile ex.”

-----

“No, Ollie. You need to listen to what I’m saying. I will ALWAYS wonder. If you’re late, I’ll wonder who you’re with. If a phone call or text takes your focus away from me or the kids, I will wonder who in the hell is more important than us and why. That question will always be at the back of my mind now. If we were intimate again, I’d always compare myself to the nameless, faceless whoever you might be doing behind my back or the one I know you did already.

To you, it was just a blip that you can somehow get over because it wasn’t as great an experience as you hoped it would be, what with the blackmail and all. To me, you ruined the very foundation of my life. Now, I have to question everything because I can’t trust myself to know when I’m being made into a fool. Not only did you marry me under false pretenses, but you also cheated on me and then carried on with your ex while lying to my face about what you were doing and where you were going for months. So, I was triple the fool.”

Everything else sucked. Hero is not redeemable at all and heroine unfortunately became a doormat at the end when she took him back. I don't care what he told her after he was caught, it was too little too late for what he did and I don't believe for one minute that he fell in love with her - before or after his act of betrayal. He just got hate from everyone around him and he lost his baby sitter 'cause he finally woke up to the fact that the OW wasn't who he obsessed about for 7 or 8 years!

The scene with his kid blasting him for still calling the OW his mom after all the crap she pulled and after realizing what he lost, annoyed me so much because to this character, he thought that only a woman who gave his kid birth can be his "mom". Didn't matter that she proved to him over & over again that sh wasn't fit to be called that and she had expressed no interest in being on, he still insisted OW was his mom! It took the kid shouting at him and choosing heroine for him to get a clue - and that is why even when he had a change of heart about the whole Mom thing afterwards and the declarations of love, it didn't ring true.

Nor the "hate sex". We were clearly shown that his body was turned on by OW's touches. If he was angry & disillusioned with OW as he said and had realized by that time that he loved heroine, why did he say those loathsome things to OW and stick his dick into her? His lame excuses was stupid. Author could have chosen other ways to make that scene more believable like having OW drug him or something, but no. She gave some stupid reason and proceeded to make him more unlikable as the story progressed because what he did before the revelation made him not give a shit about heroine, and what he did afterwards was solely for his benefit too to get back into the good graces of everyone and not lose his free babysitter since OW didn't turn out to be who he wanted her to be. Bet you if OW was written as a "good" person & regretful, he would have ended up with her. That is what the author's message was.

Now I said more than I wanted as this is not something I want to waste one more minute of my time.

This book should have ended with them getting a divorce and Oliver pinning for the rest of his miserable life that he lost a great treasure!

This bitch Oliver has never told Steph he loved her in the four years they were married but she’s supposed to believe it now that he’s saying it after he’s been caught cheating and over a text message no less 😒

I HATE Oliver something fierce for what he did to Den.

I detested Steve’s sudden 180 in favor of that cheating bastard. He kept saying it was a one time thing as if that makes it better.

Some highlights👇🏽 because why not 🤷🏽‍♀️

“What I felt for you was stronger than anything I’d ever imagined with Julia. That I liked you more than I ever thought possible became painfully obvious the night I stupidly went there with her.”
Why the FUCK would he think this would make things better? It’s as disgusting as he is gross!

“She could have taken a knife and plunged it into my heart and it would hurt less than her words and knowing what I’d done to her – to us.”
I wish she did because it would have been well deserved, you bastard!

“Part of me ached to lay eyes on my husband, who I hadn’t seen or heard from in about two weeks”
Nothing irks my soul more than this body betraying bullshit 🙄

The words that left his mouth next put me well and truly in my place.
“You’re right. I didn’t love Steph when I married her, but someone had to be here to take care of the son you left behind.”
This alone is enough to warrant no reconciliation 😤

“She didn’t deserve to know that my feelings for my wife had grown to something genuine”
Apparently neither did your wife you asshole!

“Steve shrugged. “Don’t get me wrong, Sis. I still want to punch the asshole in the balls a few times. I think he started out in a shitty place with you, but I also think somewhere along the way you worked your magic on him.”
I huffed out an unflattering noise. “Obviously not, since he chose to have sex with someone else.”
“Once. He regretted it. I think he’s learned a hell of a lesson.””
This just pissed me smooth off 😒

“I think we’ve already seen how I would handle him with another woman, since it happened during our marriage.”
Exactly! It’ll be nothing new for Steph

“I will never be with another woman unless you choose to take me back.”
Yeah no thanks. He basically said take me back or watch me be with other women 🙄

“I need you to know that I don’t blame you.
I went to the house the day you were taken to the hospital. I found your phone, and still have it. What’s worse is that I found everything else. The blood in the spot where you’d been sitting surrounded by our life together that you shredded… Jesus, Steph, it felt as though my heart were ripped out and shredded on the floor with all our pictures.”
Nothing says “I love you” like gaslighting and manipulation 😌

“I got down on my knee in front of him. “Will you…”
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!?!?!

Oliver got to fuck his whore as a last hurrah and Steph bore every single consequence from the fallout. Then he got to have Steph back without breaking a sweat.

Author basically said, “find a woman dumb enough to dupe into raising your child, cheat on her then gaslight and manipulate her into believing you care by saying ‘I’m sorry and I love you’ enough times to make it believable. Cherry on top is after that back breaking work, you won’t even have to grovel and you get the woman you cheated on to ask YOU to marry her” 🥳

2nd time - the charm

Meet, love, loss, devestation, acceptance, friendship and finally LOVE. Harrowing journey the main characters had to take to reach their HEA.

Along the way they both learned love can be lost or thrown away easily and to take care of it at all costs.

This was different type of love story but very enjoyable and filled with all the feels we look for!

The Regrettable Read. At least for me. This author is hit or miss for me. More misses than hits, unfortunately.
