Desire and deception collide in this Seventh Star Solstice special novella!
Heartbroken and alone, Petra Baccarat stumbles into a pub for a pint of solace. The last thing she expects is for an Alpha’s gaze to land on her.
Confident, charismatic, and undeniably Alpha, River seems to be the perfect distraction from the pain of Petra’s heartbreak. But the night takes a dark turn when the Alpha steals more than just her heart.
*This is lesbian omegaverse fantasy romance novella with descriptions of knotting & mates. Alpha/beta pairing.
Fresh off reading the book, I would rate it 3.5 ⭐️. While it wasn’t my favorite in the series and perhaps the lowest-ranked book I’ve given in the series, I still enjoyed it. I found the technology depicted in the world interesting and I would like to read more about it. The additional world-building in each book piques my interest, making me eager to learn about the fate of the old Earth and explore other regions. I felt the conflict was resolved too quickly in my opinion. I believe it could have been explored more deeply. I understand that this is a novella, so the pace may be measured differently compared to the other books in the series, which are longer. Another aspect that struck me was the limited perspective of the book, solely from Petra’s POV. While I liked knowing about her thoughts and mindset, I was interested in knowing more about Ravy’s perspective and experience events from her point of view. Either way , I still consider it a worthwhile read. I genuinely love the series.
Thank you so much for providing the ARC.
P.S. It’s like 2:30 in the morning while I write this, so ignore me if nothing I said makes sense.
This one is fun and smutty with enough plot to keep you going. It’s rare to get A/B/O sapphic romance, especially Alpha/Beta. Also the smut writing was hot.
My only complaint is that the conflict resolution was pretty rushed, while the rest of the book took a bit more time to develop our characters and their bond.
Gosh, I wasn’t sure how this start of a relationship hope could be reconciled. What a poor start. Well, let’s backtrack some, because nothing was worse than the start of Avani and Issadora. Nothing!
I wasn’t so sure about Petra. I know she made her play for Issadora only to find that the omega was already mated to Avani, but ignored the fact that it would be hard to break through bonds already set, no matter what was currently happening between them. Being beta she was at a disadvantage without the scent capabilities of the A/o.
When Ravy showed up, she couldn’t look away. She couldn’t help for falling at first sight. And so the challenges to falling for an Alpha begins for Petra. But Ravy never faltered in her attraction to Petra and wanting everything about her. I am under the impression that these rare Alphas are very loving and caring beings. I’ve also noticed that most of the Onegas aren’t so good. Actually, most of them are what actually ails their society in their pursuit to be more than their biology.
All-in-all, I really liked the story of Ravy and Petra. I just hope that Petra looks nothing like the person on the cover of the book. Yikes 😳!
Lily X Yours To Keep - Lesbian Omegaverse Fantasy Romance Solstice Novella (Seventh Star Series Book 7)
Petra finds herself in a difficult position after experiencing heartbreak. One night at a pub, she encounters a captivating and assertive individual named River, yet she soon realizes that she has been misled.
I genuinely appreciated the author's storytelling. The first book in the series was among my favorites, and this installment lived up to that standard. The plot was fast-paced, allowing me to easily stay engaged, and the characters were all compelling.
Petra is a sweet and kind-hearted individual who yearns for love and a genuine connection. She often feels disadvantaged as a beta, believing she lacks the same opportunities as alphas.
I am a big fan of this series! It was heartwarming to witness Petra discover love and a fresh beginning with River. They both unearthed a bond they hadn't realized was possible, despite coming from different backgrounds that shaped their perspectives. The story seamlessly weaves together elements of action, mystery, and romance, with a touch of steaminess. It's available now, so be sure to check it out!
One thing I have come to expect with Lily X is to subvert conventions. Let's start with Petra being a beta but in a position of power over an Alpha River. Poor Petra just wanted a little bit of loving and she got her little heart trampled on a couple of times but she dusted herself off and tried again. River with all the sharp edges, has a lot of reasons to doubt any help but I think there was something quiet about how relationships don't have to be transactional. You can want the person you care for to have the life they deserve.
River's secret though felt a bit incomplete or at least set up for something to come. I think there's room to unpack if is Nestia really utopian because we continue to get glimpses of not all is well outside of the castle walls. And there are players being introduced to let me believe that this entry is a bit of foreshadowing.
This is an ARC review.
CN: sadness from unrequited love not returning feelings, manipulative ex, loss of parents as a child (food/housing insecurity), toxic ex, arson,
*sigh* I just love this series so much and this new addition is no different. The story was different than the usual Alpha/Omega relationship and I have to say I absolutely adore Petra. The genuine connection the 2 MCs have is wonderful and so soft but hot and just gives such a nice fuzzy feeling. Petra is a beta which makes this story very different and I love the author for writing this because you don't see a lot of stories with beta MCs in A/B/O.
Lily X is definitely my favorite sapphic omegaverse author and also one of my favorites in general. I think every lesbian who's into omegaverse or hasn't read it yet but is open to should start their introduction into this world by reading the Seventh Star series.
I only had 1 issue with this book: I want it to be 3x the length it was (AT LEAST). Whenever I read one of the books in this series I get immediately excited because I know they won't disappoint: the feelings are always there, the friendships are always there, the desire, the amazing world she's built.
Thank you, Lily for the ARC, I can't wait to read anything else you publish in the future❤️
Absolutely loved this! lily X has done it again and brought to you a beautiful love story for the festive season. Although the conflict does seem to be rushed towards the end I’m hoping this will be focused on more in the next instalment, which there has to be as I am well and truly invested in this series.
If you’re looking for some festive fun that will leave you squirming in your seat this is the one. I would suggest that you don’t read it in front of the family, could be a bit awkward.
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and this is what I have given. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Yours to Keep by Lily X is a beautiful holiday read centered on two main characters we’ve grown to know in bits and pieces throughout the Seventh Star series with nods towards familiar other beloved couples.
Petra is unique in the series as a Beta and following her romance with a special Alpha is a real treat. I enjoyed learning about River’s history and watching how her character unfurled from Petra’s point of view was wonderful.
Definitely suggest reading it- forgive me for my short review, I worry I’ll tell too much and spoil it for anyone reading. Get started on the series so you can enjoy it in time for the upcoming Solstice!
An Alpha seducing a Beta? I’m all in for this dynamic....
Lily X delivers yet another captivating omegaverse, though I do wish the book had been a bit longer to fully resolve the conflict between Petra and River. It felt like there was room to dig deeper. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is the seventh book in the Seventh Star Series, and I can’t help but wonder... does this mark the end of the series? I really hope not—I’m definitely not ready to say goodbye. I might just re-read the entire series all over again
I received an ARC from the author in return for an honest review.
Petra gets some closure and finds love as a beta! We first met Petra in Truly Yours as a side character, I'm really happy she got a novella exploring her story a little more. I liked this novella because it addresses the alpha/omega scent attraction, the MC is a beta who has been unlucky in love because she can't find a mate simply using pheromones. Really liked the diversity of pairings that Lily X writes within the omegaverse genre.
I really hope we see more from the Seventh Star series, there's so much more to explore! I'd love to know more about the slums of Nestia, Old Earth and Royal One.
Two months - two months of reading this whole series, and now that I have finished, I feel like I am grieving the loss of my best friend. This universe, the characters, the plots in all the individual books, all felt like warm hugs. I don't know how to describe the feeling, but I'm just crying while typing this out. Being ill the past two months as well - these books helped me through that too. Thank you, Lily X, for creating such a beautiful universe and characters. I can't wait to reread this series in the future and visit them again!
I promise you will never be disappointed with a Lily X book
Finished it in a day loved it 🫶🏾it was funny cute and spicy only thing I wish it was longer but that’s just me being a greedy fan lol I never want your books to end ❤️also Petra not to much on my girl Avani 🤨 you know I’ll defend her till the end patiently waiting for the next book ❤️
For a novella, this was surprisingly slow before “the good stuff” happened. Anywho, this was just ok. The characters were likable enough and the spice per usual did not disappoint. My main issue was the ending and “resolution” of the conflict with a minor character. It was completely unrealistic and without consequence. Honestly, what was the point?
I CANT FOCUS ON ANYTING ELSE! Received the book early this morning and I’m hooked. Ravy is ridiculously sexy?? And Petra’s niceness reminds me of a mix of Artemis and Zenith. The cover makes me think of Petra as an enby-type person but that’s just my assumption.
Ms Lily X has once again outdone herself! Her books never fail to make me smile and every time I think she can't write a book better than the one she previously released, I'm constantly proven wrong. Thank you for creating a safe space, especially in these trying times❤️
Biology is not on Petra’s side. She is resigned to the fact that she is a beta and that no alpha or omega would choose her when biology draws these two together. Betas are always in the background, muted. Yogi’s meddling lands her at a bar where someone named River catches her eye, and it seems as if she has also caught River’s eye. However, what if River is not what she seems to be? And even if they overcome what is between them, can Petra trust an alpha to not leave her for another omega? Yours to Keep is a sweet novella starring various dynamics, and how to open your heart and trust when the right person comes along.
Yours to Keep was a short (well, short by my standards), sweet read with little angst. The angst is definitely lighter compared to other Lily X books.
One of the reasons I love Lily X’s Omegaverse series is because of its diversity. They depict not only diversity of ethnicity but various dynamics between alpha/beta/omegas. Yours to Keep shows not the usual alpha-omega relationships, but an alpha-beta one, showing that dynamics are relationships that are not fixed by what you are, but the heart. Also, the sexual tension and heat between Petra and Ravy were off the charts. Another thing you can trust Lily to deliver is definitely the spice that is hotter than the Carolina Reaper. I really enjoyed this light read during the holiday season!! I do hope we will see more of Petra and Ravy, along with more of Ravy’s background in the next series.
I received an ARC from the author for a honest review.
