Unexpected delightful twisty romance.

I had every intention of reading book 1 first (Read My Rights), but life got in the way, so as usual I started the series in the wrong order, but to me it's the sign of a good book / series, if you can pick it up and read from any point, which is exactly what I'd say about this one.

I do like romance books, sometimes I need the palate cleanser from all the thrillers and mysteries I read, this book satisfied all of my genre needs and tastes and more.

This is a dual point of view book, which builds the mystery and intrigue from the get go.

Lucy's father is arrested for a murder, she believes he's innocent, but she's the only one. Lucy struggles to find a defence lawyer to take the case, until James Weatherston agrees to defend her father and the book follows all the twists and turns of the case.

Don't be fooled into thinking this is just a twisty thriller though, it is a romance book too and at times more so than a thriller, so don't say you weren't warned.

Caz Redpath expertly marries the two genres and hooks you in from the first page, with plenty of mystery intrigue and great characters, taking you on a rollercoaster of emotions along the way.

Thank you so much to Caz Redpath for the ARC

This book broke me and ngl I had to cry myself to sleep yesterday after finishing it! If you've read the first book in the series, you'd know why😭

Huge thanks to the author and beyondthebookspr for the ARC!!

Blurb
Lucy is the daughter of an alleged murderer, and she's the only one who believes her father is innocent. When no one takes her father's case, James takes it and they set out to find the truth! Will they clear out her father's name or not?! Read the book to find out!

Thoughts
Absolutely loved it!! And I'm glad I read the first book earlier cuz this wouldn't have been more impactful if not (So I recommend you guys to read in order too). This one's more of a romantic suspense than just a romance, so it appealed to the sleuth side of me too. Lucy and James work together to solve the case, and encounter a lot of hurdles on the way which brings them closer than what is appropriate in a relationship between a client and a criminal defence lawyer (and I'm here for it!!)

The plot explores the idea of whether you really knew your parents or not, and that's a difficult area to explore. Lucy going through such an ordeal was heartbreaking to say the least. She doesn't know whether her dad is a murderer or not, and since he's termed as one, no one stands by her other than James. It's a lonely struggle for the both of them to prove their case when everything and everyone says otherwise. And I liked how brave Lucy stood in these times of distress.

James is a workaholic who wanted to prove his worth to everyone and be the person that his parents could be proud of, and all that changes when he crosses paths with Lucy. He'd do anything to keep her safe and to make her feel protected. Even though he's fallen bad for Lucy, he tries to be objective when it comes to the case, and I admired that about him. Also if you've read the first book, you'd know it's mentioned that Elliot takes after James and I can assure you that's so true!!! They're so alike in every way and it warmed my heart to realise that. The ending definitely broke my heart into pieces that I don't think will be whole anytime soon.

The friendship between Daines and James was so good to witness. They're so goofy and had been friends since childhood, so the way they throw jabs at one another and make fun was hilarious and adorable. And it was good to see Daines and his girlfriend, Angie get so well together with Lucy too. I wish we'd get the love story of Daines and Angie too!!!

Overall, I loved this one so much and it's a prequel I didn't know I needed!! And the way the book ended, I think we're gonna get another part, for which I'm equally thrilled!!

✨arc review ✨

This was @authorcazredpath second book in the Rosehaven series and her second novel. I absolutely loved this one, whilst I enjoyed the first book Read my rights, Caz absolutely smashed it out the park with this one. Thriller romance, set in a small town. A murder happens and Lucy's (the FMC) father is arrested for it. Lucy thinks her father is innocent. And tries to find a lawyer who will take on the case to defend her dad. Nobody is willing to do it, as everyone thinks he did it. But Lucy then meets James, who agrees to help her.
Little did they know, they would be falling in love very quickly.
I thought I had this sussed very early on, knowing who the murderer was. But then in the last 20% there were more twists and turns and I was absolutely gripped. Caz did an amazing job and I loved it. I can't wait for the next book to come out. I NEED to know what happened next

I already know this is going to be a 5⭐️

Was I wrong? NO. holy fuck Caz did it again. I’d like to thank Caz for sending me an arc copy of till death parts us, I feel so honoured to have been trusted with this copy before the release on the 25th.

When Caz offered to send me an arc copy I immediately jumped at the opportunity, but debated whether to read the boyfriend by Freida McFadden or TDPU first, I have no regrets in choosing Caz over Freida. And I would do it again.

See, I thought the twist was going to be obvious, and I’m ngl, I was scared I was going to have to reduce my rating. I was wrong to doubt myself, to doubt Caz. Because WOWW. I didn’t see the twist coming. AT ALL. It was written BRILLIANTLY.

Maybe it’s myself for not refreshing my memory at the beginning of the book, but I spent the entire book wondering how this linked to the first one, other than the setting. And when I realised, EVERYTHING fell into place and it was perfect.

I have never sobbed so hard at a book. Grab your tissues, because this is the only book you need to read this year to be satisfied.

Book 3 cannot come fast enough 😩😩

Thank you Caz!!

I was lucky enough to receive an eARC of this book (Huge thanks to Caz Redpath & Beyond The Books PR), and here's my honest take:

Lucy and James's chemistry was a slow build, but it was so rewarding to see their connection grow. You could tell they were made for each other. Plus, how adorable is that cover?

This story pulled me in so fast! The blend of romance, suspense, and plot twists kept me turning pages like crazy. Every aspect was on point.

Just when I thought I had the plot all figured out, it threw me for a loop in the best possible way! The twist? Completely unexpected!

It's the ideal read for anyone who wants a spooky season.

I'm already counting down the days until the next installment.

ARC Review:
The story starts with Lucy's father arrest, he was accused for the murder of Amber Jones.
Her mother is determined that he got what he deserved but Lucy doesn't believe it. She decides to fight for his innocence and meets James, the lawyer fighting for his father's case.
As Lucy and James starts investigating the case, they began falling for each other, now James has more at stake than just a case. His feelings is making him do things he never thought himself of being capable of doing, he needs to keep Lucy's feelings in mind while solving the case also.
As they began to unravel the case, they realize that both Lucy's parents is hiding something, Lucy's mother more so.
Is Lucy's father really innocent or was he falsely accused for the murder he never committed??
You need to read the book to find out!!!

I liked the plotline very much, at first their relationship seemed a bit off but as the story continued, I started liking it.
Ending was also a bit stiff and at some point I felt like, there should have been more explanation for the things that happened.
As for the culprit, I somehow predicted it, or so I thought until 85% of the book!! The turn it took at the end was DAMN.....
I am so eager to read the next book now and know the full story of Lucy, what exactly happened that night??? And who was that man???

Someone gimme the book already pleaseeeeee!!

I was honoured enough to be a part of Caz's Street Team for the second book in the Rosehaven series and was able to read an advanced copy of this book, and honestly I am struggling to put my thoughts on this book into words because I am still sobbing at this ending!

Despite knowing these character's future from the first book, Caz writes in such a way that you just cannot help but fall in love and develop such a strong attachment with these characters, and then when certain events happen, you get your heart ripped out and stamped on while also receiving multiple punches to the gut.

That being said, the emotion in this writing is absolutely brilliant as it was in the first book. The twists, the turns, and the overall plot was absolute perfection and I loved every single second of my journey through this story. I loved how the romance didn't overshadow the other plot lines going on in this book as it so often does in many other books I've read, but instead played a beautiful part of the overall story here and was integrated so well.

Overall, this was another 5 star read for me - I was just so invested from the very start to the very end, and I already can't wait for book three, eeeeek!

If anyone reading this review hasn't read the first book, Read My Rights, go and read it now and then go and read this book once it's released - I promise it is 100% worth it <3

I loved Caz’s first book in the Rosehaven Series, Read My Rights, so I was super excited to be given Till Death Parts Us as an ARC! I would highly recommend reading the first book before this one.

‘Till Death Parts Us’ follows James and Lucy’s story; James is a newly qualified lawyer, and Lucy’s father has been charged with the murder of a young woman.

I really wanted to love this book, however, for me personally, it just lacked a few elements. Their romance was very much a whirlwind but it felt almost rushed at points and I didn’t feel a connection to them as I had in the first book when they were introduced.

I really enjoyed the ending; the twists and turns were fantastic, so even though you think you’ve figured it out (I certainly thought I had - spoiler alert, I hadn’t) it packed a great punch.

I’m still very much looking forward to reading Caz’s future books as I think she’s a fantastic author, and the Rosehaven series has certainly captivated me from the debut book ‘Read My Rights’.

REVIEW POST - Book 64 of 2024

Till Death Parts Us by Caz Redpath

When an author releases an amazing debut straight out of the gate, the pressure is on to deliver an excellent follow up. Caz did not disappoint with this second installment in her Rosehaven series.

I've known Caz since I joined bookstagram and have become friends with her along the way and I am so incredibly proud of her work. As a romance reader who also loves mystery genre, I am blown away by how well she writes romantic suspense. The mystery be mysterious... the romance be romancing... and the feels be feeling!!!

We've been dying to get our hands on James and Lucy's origin story. I'm not sure how I cna be totally ready and totally not ready for something so much all at the same time 😂 Caz is wicked and knows how to pull on the heartstrings.

If you've read book 1, you will know some details of what to expect in book 2. If you haven't, well... go read it immediately ready to read this one.

And yes... I cried 😭

Firstly thank you so much to Caz for the ARC copy of her second book, I also was lucky enough to have an ARC of her first book which was another 5 star. It’s an honour to be a member of her street team and I can’t wait for future releases.

This one had several darker topics covered which I loved, I like darker books and the suspense in TDPU had me gripped, the pace was quick moving throughout but the last 20% really had me unable to put it down with twists I did not see coming at all. I read a lot of thrillers so I am often disappointed by twists and turns often being a bit predictable but this had multiple, deeper layers that all link up which was great to read and find out about.

There are many links to the first book so although it can be read as a standalone, I would highly recommend you reading them in order of the series. TDPU will have you feeling so many emotions all at once, if you like romance and suspense I would definitely give this one a go.

That last line though!!👀👀

First and foremost, I received this as an ARC and am very thankful for the opportunity.

But...
I did not enjoy any part of this, truly...
This might have to do with the fact that I'm not a fan of instalove, but who knows?
This book was extremely fast paced, but how are they saying "I love you" after a week? Complete trauma bonding from Lucy, and James came on as a little bit predatory. Their relationship was just not believable or enjoyable to read about.
Also, I feel we were promised, mostly, murder mystery with a romantic subplot, so WHY was it only romance 15% into the book till the 70% mark?
Another aspect I was not a fan of, was the lack of punctuations, like do you just hate commas? I found this book to have poor sentence structure and a minimal understanding of which tense is used in each chapter, why is it different from time to time?
And, why the hell does the book, in the last chapter, states it's fifteen years later, but then Lucy, two sentences in, says "it is approaching sixteen years since his death now." like what?
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Caz did such an amazing job with Book 2!

I loved the first chapter being an unknown point of view it really added to the mystery of the book and hooked me right from the start!

At first I wasn’t sure about James and Lucy. James was such a sweetheart and you could see how much he wanted to protect Lucy. The romantic moments between them were super cute and I loved the way how they progressed into a relationship.

I have to say the highlight for me was Daines and James’s friendship I was obsessed and really enjoyed seeing the closeness they had they were like brothers! I loved this so much!

The book has twists and turns and I enjoyed the storyline. If you love Mystery, Romance and unexpected surprises this book if for you :) thank you Caz. I’m so proud of you 🧡

Title: Till Death Parts Us
Author: Caz Redpath
Genre: Romance
Format: Ebook
Publication: 25th October 2024

✨ 5/5

The second book in The Rosehaven Series Till Death Parts Us has been one of my most anticipated reads a book I’ve been desperate for since I finished the author’s debut Read My Rights and it didn’t disappoint!

Set before the events of the first book Till Death Parts Us follows Lucy (who we meet on Read My Rights) as she teams up with new city lawyer James to clear her fathers name after he is accused of murder.

With love at first sight vibes there’s no slow-burn to be found here with the instant chemistry between them main characters. I loved how James felt instantly protective of Lucy and really stepped up when she needed some support. The true epitome of soulmates they are virtually inseparable from the start.

I loved seeing the backstory of so many of the characters we met in the first book and also getting to know James as whilst he features in the first book after his death it’s centred more on his impact on Elijah rather than his own story.

As expected I devoured this book, I really struggled to put it down. Full of twists and turns - I was absolutely certain I know the answer to who the murder was only to be thrown a massive curve ball (I won’t post spoilers you’ll have to read it to find out for yourself). I’m still not sure I’ve forgiven the author for the epic love story that ends in such tragedy but I’ll still be in the queue to read book three when that comes out!

Thank you to the author for my arc copy in exchange for an honest review and having me along on her street team.

𝑻.𝑾: Murder & Attempted Murder, Violence, Grief, Loss of a Loved one/partner

💭 Buckle up, book besties, because *Till Death Parts Us* by Caz Redpath is an emotional rollercoaster that brings the heat with romantic suspense and legal drama—oh, and a dash of insta-love (but more on that later 😉).

The story follows Lucy, whose life gets thrown upside down when her father is arrested for murder. While the world is convinced of his guilt, Lucy is determined to clear his name. Enter James Weatherston, a fresh-out-of-law-school defense lawyer eager to prove his worth. He’s got his doubts about Lucy’s dad, but once he meets Lucy? Well, let's just say, James is ready to throw his caution to the wind and go all-in on this case—and on *her*. Yeah, things move fast. Maybe a little *too* fast.

Now, I’m usually not a big fan of insta-love (seriously, James was willing to risk it all for Lucy after knowing her for what felt like 0.2 seconds 😅), but in their defense, the stakes are *insanely* high. Lucy’s father’s life is hanging in the balance, and Lucy herself is fighting to stay afloat with no one in her corner except James. Their connection? Instant and intense. And while I caught myself thinking, “Slow down, you two,” their chemistry did give us some *gorgeous* moments. There’s something undeniably swoony about two people finding each other in the middle of a storm. And the *quotes*, y’all. Prepare to highlight your heart out! ❤️
That said, if their love had developed over, say, a year, I probably would’ve been even *more* obsessed. But hey, if you’re into a whirlwind romance with high-stakes drama, this book is calling your name.

Speaking of high stakes—the case! Oh man, the twists and turns had me flipping pages *non-stop*. I won’t spoil anything, but let’s just say there were a couple of plot points I saw coming (I mean, I do love playing detective), but even then, Redpath kept me on my toes. The alternating POVs between Lucy and James worked *so* well. I loved how we got to see both sides of their struggle—Lucy’s unwavering belief in her father’s innocence and James’s growing inner conflict as he balanced his feelings for her with the mounting evidence.

Oh, and let’s talk about the side characters for a sec—because they are *everything*. James’ bromance with Daines is HILARIOUS. The banter and childhood friendship between them gave me life. And Daines and his girlfriend, Angie? I ship them SO hard. Seriously, Caz, where’s their love story? I need it ASAP.

As for Lucy, my heart broke for her. She’s grappling with the very real question: Do we ever *really* know our parents? She’s fighting for her dad while also battling the possibility that he might not be who she thought he was. It’s such a lonely and vulnerable position, but Lucy’s bravery shone through, even when things felt impossible.

The ending left me with a lot of feelings—some good, some bittersweet. There are a few loose threads, and I’ll admit I was left wanting *just a little more* resolution, but overall, I was satisfied. And the possibility of a sequel? YES, PLEASE. I need more of these characters and their messy, emotional lives.

Thank you so much to Caz Redpath for the ARC❤️

If you’re looking for a book that blends legal mystery, romance, and some deep moral dilemmas, *Till Death Parts Us* is it. Just be prepared for a bit of insta-love, fast-paced drama, and maybe even a few teary moments.

🔸 𝑭𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑸𝒖𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒔:

"Beautiful women will be the death of me."

"My father had always said I was a little soft. I didn’t regret being soft, but I wanted to be able to shield my emotions when I needed to"

"I would listen to her talk forever if it made her feel better. I couldn’t even imagine the amount of pain she was carrying around in her heart, I wanted to help her fix it."

"It takes a special kind of person to fight for someone like this. To be willing to go to bat for them when no one else will.”

"I would take a man who was brave over a man who was overconfident."

"I had always believed that people fell into your life exactly when you need them."

“You loved Amber?” I asked, clearing my throat.
“With everything I had."

“Have you ever been in love, James?” I shook my head. Truthfully, I’d barely been in relationships. A girlfriend here and there, but I’d always preferred the casual approach.
“If you had ever been in love, you would understand. One minute you feel like you are dragging yourself through life, and the next, they walk into it and everything changes. All those things you thought mattered, don’t. The only thing that matters is them and you would do anything for them.”

"I would not have previously described myself as a violent man, but if I had been there, I would have made him hurt for going near her. For even laying a single finger on her head."

"Her face beamed up at me as I turned to look at her. She was beautiful, truly and completely beautiful. I felt like the luckiest guy in the world to even breathe the same air as her."

"Awaking to hear Lucy screaming was one of the most terrifying sounds I had ever heard."

"I don’t think I had been someone’s first choice or top priority before, but James was choosing me. He was choosing to work my father’s case with me over everything else. I placed my hand on his arm and he smiled."

"It was hard to describe how I felt about James. As his hands touched me, I didn’t feel nervous or shy. I don’t have butterflies raging a war in my stomach. I feel completely and utterly calm in his presence. I feel safe."

"Lucy seemed to push me out of my comfort zone in the best possible way. Everything came out so effortlessly when I was with her. Thoughts of Alice had been hidden away in my head for so long, but I wanted to tell Lucy everything about her. I wanted to tell her about how I was hurting; I knew she would make it better."

"I meant what I said to Lucy, I was choosing her. I knew the stakes and it didn’t matter.
I was willing to risk it all for Lucy Davis."

“This is probably a bad idea,” she said, looking at me as we broke off the initial kiss.
“A terrible one,” I agreed, going back to kissing her again. We all needed to give in to a bad idea every now and then. I didn’t think about my career or the case. I didn’t care about any of it at the moment. The only thing I cared about was being close to her. It didn’t matter what I needed to sacrifice to keep Lucy, I would do it."

"Dance with me?” There was never even a fleeting thought of denying Lucy anything she asked for, even if I was nervous to dance with her. When it came to Lucy Davis, no wasn’t in my vocabulary."

"I could spend the rest of my life dancing with James Weatherston."

"It was incredible how even the smell of someone you loved made you feel safe."

"As people, I feel we are always searching for love wherever we can get it, even if it is a small dose. We thrive off of it. I know that even despite the heartbreak of my situation, James’ love has pulled me through all of it. Without his love, I am not sure I would have survived this situation. I would have just become a shell of myself.
I hoped I never knew a world without James’ love again."

“God, I hope I go first,” he said with a sad smile. “Because I couldn’t live a day without you, Lucy Weatherston,” he said, emphasising my new last name as he spoke.
I don’t know if I could ever live without him, either."

"I love you, Lucy Weatherston. I will find you in every lifetime."

"I see you in Elijah’s smile, Alice’s eyes, and Lucas’ laugh. All three of them carry around my favourite part of you.” A smile graced my lips. “They have your kind heart, James. Your selfless nature. That desire you always had to help everyone around you.” I wiped my face with my sleeve."

"One of James’ best traits was also his downfall. He was determined to help everybody around him. It was what I loved most about him, and in the end, it was the reason he was taken from me."

Some people deserve to die

Rating: ★★★.75 rounded up

Oh. My. Gosh. We get pulled RIGHT into Lucy's world as she's hit with the shattering news of her father getting accused of being a killer. Determined to clear his name, Lucy enlists the help of James, the newest criminal defense lawyer in town, who's trying to make his mark despite his doubts. As the stakes get higher, James starts questioning his beliefs, and their connection grows deeper—maybe too quickly, depending on your taste. The story is packed with twists, emotional tension, and a romance that, in my humble opinion, blooms *really, really fast*.

This book is dedicated to those who have lost the ones they loved. If only happily ever afters could last forever.

The romance between Lucy and James was intense, but it felt like it happened in the blink of an eye. They were willing to risk everything for each other after, like what, a day! It's a classic case of insta-love, which isn't necessarily my thing, but I guess I get why their circumstances brought them together quickly. They both had so much on the line, especially Lucy, with her dad's future hanging in the balance. You can tell she clings to James because he’s the only one who really believes in her when no one else does.

At first, it seemed a bit much, but slowlyyyy I got wrapped up in their personal struggles. James is battling his own demons. He's torn between doing what's right as a lawyer and following his heart, which is how he gets tangled up in his feelings for Lucy. There were moments where I was like, "Okay, you met her five minutes ago, dude, slow down!", lmao. But at the same time, it brought some beautiful quotes to the table. If their relationship had built up over, let's say, a year's time frame, I would have absolutely adored the whole couple and felt more for them overall. Oh, and their friendship with Daines and Angie is definitely for keeps.

Those twists towards the end had me flipping pages to see how it would all play out. Some of the revelations were a little predictable (I did see one or two coming, sadly), but they still packed a punch when they hit. I appreciated the alternating and short POVs because they gave me a full picture of both Lucy and James's thoughts while keeping me engaged, as the chapters didn’t drag on. What I loved was how one character's POV would start from the same scene the other ended on, giving you a deeper view of both sides, which is something I missed in other double POV books. You know what I mean? AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE FIRST CHAPTER?? UNKNOWN POV?? That is what makes you hooked right from the start. And oh oh when the title finally makes sense to you...

I've never killed anyone before but sometimes justice needs to be taken into your own hands.

I have to say, though, the ending left me with mixed feelings. There were still some loose ends about the whole case that I hoped would get tied up (read the spoiler below for details).

All in all, I would absolutely recommend Till Death Parts Us, especially if you love legal mysteries with a side of fast-paced, cozy, small-town romance. It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys stories where the MMC is protective and the characters face tough moral decisions. Just be prepared for some insta-love and perhaps a few loose threads by the end. Count me in for the rest of this series!
Note: This is part of a series but can be read as stand-alone (as claimed by the author). I personally have not read the first installment but will do so in the future.

A big thanks to Beyond The Books PR for providing me with this ARC and to Caz Redpath for personally managing the ARC process!

///

WARNING: SPOILER ‼️

Okay, let’s get into the twist that left me scratching my head a bit. So, it turns out Lucy's mom is the actual killer, and while a little obvious it does make for a dramatic reveal, her motive didn’t entirely click for me. She admits to killing Amber, but her reasoning feels shaky. I mean, she says it was for "the greater good," but what exactly does that mean? She was trying to stop Lucy’s dad from cheating and hurting more women, but the whole setup made me question her endgame. Was she really protecting her family, or was there something else going on? It felt like there were pieces missing that would've explained her actions better or more logically.

And then there's the part where James kills Anthony, Lucy's dad. I kept thinking, wouldn’t this have left more of a trace? He’s supposedly able to get away with it, but in real life, wouldn’t there be some marks or evidence that would lead back to him? Like fingerprints or some other proof? It felt a little too clean for what went down, and I kept waiting for the police to be like, "Uh, hey, this isn’t adding up." Instead, everything kind of gets brushed aside, and I’m left wondering how no one picked up on it.

The future chapters are cute and did leave me tear up. But yeah.

Plot: Lucy Davis' (FMC) father has been arrested for a murder that she's convinced he did not commit, but no one's ready to believe her, not even her mother. when numerous attempts at hiring a defense lawyer fall through, she's shocked and relieved when James Weatherston (MMC) steps up and promises to find the truth. a proper investigation into that fateful night ensues (and so does some good ol' romance) and as the resulting chaos threatens to upend their lives, James and Lucy must decide if they're ready to face the consequences if their quest for truth leads them to a whole new answer or the one they had known deep down all along.

first of all, i'd like to thank the author for gifting me an ARC! TDPU is the second book in the Rosehaven series, but can be read as a standalone. although, i do recommend reading the first book (Read My Rights) before getting to this one to get a better grasp on things. however, i will be reviewing this as someone who dove into this book headfirst with no prior knowledge about their lore.

it is a dual POV book, but interestingly enough, kicks off with a chapter from an unknown person's perspective. the writing is clever and the suspense grips you enough to make you question the events that follow. honestly, for the majority of the book, i thought that the unknown POV bit was going to be a case of an unreliable narrator, but boy was i thoroughly surprised!!! the plot twists are CRAZYYYY!!!!!! if you think you know where things are going, no you don't! the last 40% of the book will have your jaw hanging wide open for sure.

the uncovering of the 'real' murderer was well-written and i wish that had taken up the majority of the book. i wish the romance didn't overshadow everything. opinions and tastes differ, so i urge you to find out for yourself if this works for you! as for me, James and Lucy's romance felt more like a whirlwind type and kind of rushed at times. their relationship jumped and covered so many bases so fast that i didn't really get a chance to connect with the characters nor 'root' for them. their romantic moments often read like the opposite of what the "show, don't tell" phrase insinuates and that threw me off a bit, to be honest.

the last few chapters spanned multiple years and the ending felt a bit... rushed? aside from that though, the book has a nice pacing, ensuring that you do not get bored. if you have read the first book in the series, you might already have an inkling about James and Lucy's future—but i didn't, and it was bittersweet. although i hadn't bonded well with the characters, it kind of hurt? that being said, it does certainly motivate you enough to wait for the next book in the series, though! (especially, the ending line phewww)

i quite enjoyed the found family aspects (someone find me friends like Daines and Angie pleaseeeee 🫶🏼) the one thing i loved the most about this book was how the unknown POV chapter from the beginning of the book played its part towards the end. i'm a sucker for a good metaphor 😫😋 i could see the 'real' murderer reveal coming, but the **other things** that followed? heck nah.

to conclude, this was a nice enough read and worked like a charm as an in-between read 🫶🏼📔💞💫 i'm super excited to see where the next book takes us!!! (*cough* *cough* we get to see someone's villain origin story 🥰🫣❤️‍🔥)

huge thanks to Beyond the Books PR and Caz Redpath for sending me an ARC and granting me this opportunity!! 🩷🩷

I was gifted an arc by Caz.

“Now, I can’t stand the thought of anybody looking at you. It makes me want to gouge their eyes out.” ~James Weathestone

A cosy mystery romance!

When her father is accused of murder, Lucy turns to the only lawyer who will help her, James. As the two begin to build a case in favour of her father, Lucy is attacked and the two flee for her safety. Continuing to build their case they begin to uncover clues about the motive behind the murder, and they realise that there are unseen players in the murder case.

I loved reading this!
I was hooked from page one and couldn't stop reading. I love a good murder mystery and this was perfect for me! Not too scary but still full of twists and turns. I like the characters of Lucy and James and how they worked together to solve the murder, they didn't exclude one another unless absolutely necessary and trusted each other completely.

The book is marketed as primarily a suspense novel with romantic elements, I would say it is quite heavy on the romance element. Not that it makes it bad, I liked the romance, however, there was more than I expected and I think it took away from the mystery aspect a little. I would have liked a little less focus on the romance between Lucy and James and a bit more attention on working out the small details of who the murderer was or watching James being a lawyer.
I guessed who the murderer was quite early on which I was very proud of myself for, but just when everything was wrapping up a curveball was thrown and hit me square in the face, and I was shocked by what happened.

I wasn't a fan of the rushed ending, the last 5 chapters span multiple years and felt a little too rushed. But until the last five chapters, the book was paced really well, which for a mystery novel is important! With the amount of plot twists Caz threw at the reader, it all happened exactly when it felt right.

I liked Lucy, she was a great character, l however I feel like the amount of romance in the book took away from her storyline. I would have liked to see more of her standing on her own rather than relying on James so much. But even so, I liked the storyline that she did have. I liked her reactions to solving the murder.

I have mixed feelings about James. Whilst he was a very good friend to Lucy and did his job, never doubting her for a second, I feel like he could have done better to uncover who the murderer was. He acted more like an investigator than a lawyer, and I would have liked to see more of Lawyer James.

Overall I did enjoy the book and look forward to book 3 in the Rosehaven series.

Till Death Parts Us is the second book in the Rosehaven Series, these are interconnected standalones.

When I picked up Till Death Parts Us, I expected a love story based on the title. However, the blurb quickly revealed it was a suspense novel, creating an intriguing conflict of expectations. That curiosity propelled me straight into the book.

The story follows Lucy, whose father is accused of murder, shattering the life she thought she knew. While her mother accepts the accusation, Lucy is determined to prove her father’s innocence. While most firms declined Lucy's case, James—a lawyer striving to make a name for himself—believes in her father's innocence and decides to take it on, despite his firm's refusal.

The novel strikes a perfect balance between suspense and light-hearted moments. The tension of the murder mystery keeps you on edge, while the lighter elements ensure the story doesn’t become overwhelming. It’s a rare combination that keeps you both anxious and entertained.

Written from dual perspectives, alternating between Lucy and James, the structure works seamlessly. The story flows well, with the writing making it easy to immerse in the plot. James stands out as a strong and well-developed character, and the supporting characters, like Daines and Angie, bring cheerfulness and depth. I particularly liked the contrast between Lucy's family falling apart while James was reconciling with his own.

Though I was able to predict a few elements of the plot, there was an intriguing moment of déjà vu when a later chapter mirrored the preface in an unexpected way, which added an exciting twist to the story. The ending left me with a bittersweet feeling, but it also left me eager to read the other books in the Rosehaven series.

I recommend this if you are looking for a light suspenseful novel.

PS: Those familiar with the previous book in the series may be more prepared for the emotional turns in this one.

Title: Till Death Parts Us
Author: Caz Redpath
MCs: James Weatherston and Lucy Davis
Format: e-ARC on Kindle
Review:
This is the second book in the Rosehaven series by author, Caz Redpath. Although I did enjoy the first book in the series, this second book was absolutely amazing! This is a thriller romance set in the small town of Rosehaven. A murder occurs in a neighboring town and Lucy’s father has been arrested for it. Lucy attempts to find a law firm that is willing to take on her father’s case, but no one is willing to do it until she finds James. Only starting in his career as a lawyer, this is his first solo case, and he can’t help but try his very hardest to help Lucy. Throughout their work, Lucy and James grow very close and even fall in love in the process.
While there is some romance in the book, the murder mystery aspect is the main plot of the narrative. I loved that it didn’t overshadow the main story line but added some dimension to the story and was integrated very well. I was a little nervous when I was able to guess the killer very early on, but I was NOT able to see the final twists and turns that were thrown in the last 25% of the book. Even though we know their future, Caz’s writing sucks you into the story and you can’t help but feel strongly attached to these characters and what happens to them. You are in for a roller coaster of emotions when reading this book and I thoroughly enjoyed my journey.
Thank you to @authorcazredpath and @beyondthebooksPR for sending me the arc copy in exchange for my honest review. I can’t wait to read what you have next! You don’t have to read the first book before reading this one, but I recommend that you do! Happy reading

ARC Review 🧡

• The Plot •

After finishing this book I was left in TEARS! I loved the honest portrayal of grief, it was so heartbreaking, yet relatable. From start to finish I was hooked. I loved that this book had a mix of romance, mystery, suspense, it made me never want to put this book down. There was one thing that was predictable about the case James took on, however, I wasn’t mad about the fact that, that part was because of the plot twist! That completely made up for it, when I tell you my jaw was on the FLOOR! I was so shocked, it was so unexpected. The first book, Read my Rights, is based on James and Lucy’s son so to then go backwards in time, you think it wouldn’t fit but it does! It was like all the pieces of the puzzle all started to fit together.

• James & Lucy •

James and Lucy’s relationship was just written perfectly. I love how they both found each other in the exact moment they both needed it. The development of their relationship makes the ending that much sadder, because of how much they both truly loved each other. I love the whole dynamic of “they would do anything for each other”, this was proved by the things that happened 👀 I loved how they both healed each other and helped each other realise they need to live and not just exist.

• Chapters •

If you’re a lover of quick chapters, you would love to read this book! The book is fast paced, but not to the point where you feel like you are missing something. Everything is thought out and planned amazingly, and I never felt like a chapter needed to be longer and that there was something missing.

• Final Thoughts •

This book is my favourite so far out of the Rosehaven series and it is definitely worth the read. Caz couldn’t have done a better job with this, everything was just perfect.

Till Death Parts Us by Caz Redpath is the epitome of an emotional roller coaster that has no way of letting you know which way you’re going, when you’re just going to drop down, or how high you’re going to fall. Redpath does balance the romantic tension between the two main characters and the suspense that comes from them trying to solve the case before an innocent man is sent to jail for life nicely enough that it is enjoyable to read and would beckon readers to re-read until the next installment of The Rosehaven Series.

I will say that it is a tough to read as it follows the aftermath of the undoing of Lucy’s world at the hand of her father, shattering everything she knew and turning it into a lie. It was very emotional to read and I sympathized with Lucy during that time.

But that doesn’t mean that she needed James to be her knight in shining armor to constantly save her. James is proved to want to take care of her and knows which lines he can’t cross until she says the word that it’s okay. And I loved him for that. He supports Lucy as she finds the strength to keep going and fight for her father in spite of everything.

Because of the way James is, the romance written between them is perfect. It isn’t too hasty nor is it too slow. It is perfectly done just for the two of them and I savored every sweet moment of it—right up until the end.

With how the book ended (and no, I’m not going to acknowledge it; I’m in my denial era), I will most definitely follow Redpath to get some answers.

Wow, what a rollercoaster! Just as I imagined it would be, this story was bittersweet to read, considering how their story ends in RMR. To say nothing of the title!
I knew I was going to adore James, and I did. I barely got to see him in RMR, so seeing him here gave me a clear impression of him, and I loved what I saw. Taking on the case was a big gamble, and so much was at stake, but he was brave enough to risk it all. For her.
Lucy was tenacious and didn’t give up, even when times were tough for her to say the least. I already loved her in RMR, but this just made my respect for her grow, knowing what all she went through. I just wanted to give her the biggest hug.
The plot was well thought out. About the case, what I liked was that it wasn’t so clear-cut. It wasn’t 100% obvious whether Anthony, Lucy’s dad, was guilty or innocent, and he had good points and bad. It kept my interest because either outcome would’ve been engaging. And that twist! I did not see that coming.
The last few chapters really came full circle though, and I’m still haunted by it. Now that readers knew Lucy and James’s story up until that point, it really added a whole new perspective. I’m eager to see what Lucy does next.

✨️ARC Book Review✨️
Till Death Parts Us (268📖) (2nd October - 6th October) 5⭐️ 1🌶

Thank you so much to Caz Redpath for allowing me to ARC this masterpiece!

Till Death Parts Us is the second book of The Rosehaven Series by Caz Redpath. This book is centred around Lucy Davis (who is a character introduced in Read My Rights) and James Weatherston. James is a lawyer working in a pro-bono firm trying to get on the big case they're working on. In walks Lucy, a woman desperate to find a lawyer to prove her father's innocence after he is arrested for allegedly murdering a woman named Amber Jones. Against others advisement, James takes on the case, but isn't so certain of Anthony's innocence. As their relationship blossoms, James realises he would do anything for Lucy.

Holy hell, was that a rollercoaster ride! Caz, I don't know if I love or hate you😅. This book was absolutely amazing! It had everything you could want, it is perfection. There was so much suspense, angst, tension and the thriller aspect, but also the love, the chemistry and connections too. And that's without mentioning the emotions you feel all the way through it. I thoroughly enjoyed TDPU and it will be close to my heart just like Read My Rights. I can't wait for the third installment of The Rosehaven Series.

Till Death Parts Us releases in 19 days (25th October). Make sure to get your copy then!

Till Death Parts Us by Caz Redpath is a gripping, emotional rollercoaster of a book that kept me hooked from start to finish. The story follows Lucy, whose father has been arrested for murder. Lucy, however, believes he is innocent and is determined to prove it. Just when she’s about to lose hope, she meets James Weatherston, a fresh law graduate eager to prove himself.

James is advised against taking the case, but his growing feelings for Lucy make him throw caution to the wind. Even though he's unsure of her father's innocence, he’s willing to risk his career, reputation, and beliefs to help her.

The twists and turns in this book are incredible—I did NOT see that twist coming! I literally had a WHATTTT?? moment. Caz Redpath keeps you guessing until the very end, making it impossible to put the book down. The tension between Lucy’s desperation and James’ doubts adds so much depth to the story, making their relationship all the more intriguing.

I’m beyond grateful to have received an ARC of Till Death Parts Us, and I cannot recommend it enough. This is a book you’ll want in paperback, perfect for re-reading with a highlighter and annotation tapes. I’m already eager for Part 3—pretty please, Caz!

The book is set to release on October 25th, and trust me, you don’t want to miss it. Grab it as soon as it hits the shelves—you won’t regret it! I'm officially a fan!

“Till Death Parts Us” by Caz Redpath is a captivating small-town romance and legal thriller that I absolutely loved! I finished the book in 2 sittings and I devoured it completely.

Caz Redpath has an easy, flowing writing style which combined with the short, punchy chapters made it an addictive read for me from the very start to the ending. The plot is gripping and engaging, but what really won me over were the characters and their chemistry.

Lucy’s fierce determination to clear her father’s name from the accusation tugged deeply at my heart, while James, the handsome and honest lawyer, made my heart race as he battled his own conscience.

The tension between them was electric, and the “lawyer x client’s daughter” trope was indeed done to perfection. I’ve started loving this trope 🤭🤭.

I found myself rooting for them at every turn, and the found family theme brought unexpected warmth and happiness to this intense story.

This book is indeed the perfect blend of suspense, romance, friendship and emotional depth.

I can’t keep calm because I want to read the first book in the Rosehaven series because I’m officially hooked!

If you’re someone who is looking for a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat while pulling at your heartstrings, this is it.

Kindly have a tissue box with you while you’re reading 😭😭😭…

Thank you Caz for giving us James and Lucy ❤️

My jaw has been on the floor pretty much since I reached 85% so bear with me! First of all, however, I’d like to thank the author and Love Notes for giving me access to the ARC of Till Death Parts Us which is out TODAY!!!

The connection with the first book??? OH MY GOD!!! I’ve spent most of the book thinking whether they were simply connected because of the setting, but then it hit me like a train and I honestly got goosebumps, I see what you’re doing Caz!!!!!

The thriller part of this book was a rollercoaster; I was convinced I knew who the killer was, and I was right about it, but my prediction barely scratched the top of the pile of stuff that kept coming during the last 25% of the book, THAT I wasn’t expecting and I just love it when thrillers have multiple plot twists honestly!!! It made so much sense, too, and it made me feel so stupid that I hadn’t considered other possibilities.

I have to admit I’m not a massive fan of the romance part of this book. While I teared up at the end, I think their relationship was a little bit too rushed, and perhaps born out of trauma and loneliness. I’m super glad they found each other and that they had unconditional love and support, but I wish it would’ve been at a slower pace. That’s just a personal preference tho!

I’m excited to see where this series goes, and to discover more about them!

Raw and Real – A Dark and Thought-Provoking Thriller

This book is raw and real, especially in how it tackles the concept of justice and how we perceive people vs Reality. It strongly reflects on the wheel of justice and how it turns—often slowly, unfairly and where the line is between right and wrong. With plenty of mystery and intrigue, the story keeps you on your toes as you navigate the blurred lines between perception and reality, and how people are more than what they appear on the surface.

The story is a whirlwind of emotions and I must say It’s also a little heartbreaking. However, I did feel like the relationship aspect was a bit rushed, almost like we didn’t delve deep enough. The romance is more of a subplot, so that’s understandable, but it left me wanting more in terms of emotional connection between the characters.

If you’re looking for a thriller with a raw edge and a reflection on justice, this one will deliver, even if the romance takes a backseat.

I received an advance copy; this review is honest and voluntary.

”You take my breath away, you know that?”

To be loved is to be known, and James definitely knows how to love Lucy. 💞

This story starts fast and strong with Lucys father arrested for allegedly murdering a young woman. Its a whirlwind mystery with a lot of twists and turns that will keep you guessing. The starting chapter is from unknowns POV and that adds an extra layer to the guessing of who did what and who the victim truly can be. I can tell you I did NOT guess the ending AT ALL 😱🤯

Together with the case, a love story also blossoms between Lucy and James, its sweet and true. The sparks are there from the beginning and even though it did irk me a little how fast they were ”cuddly”, their love soon grew on me and the sweet moments were worth their weight in gold.

If you read ”Read My Rights” first, it adds an extra bittersweet layer to their story. Ill leave it at that but just trust me its worth it! 💞

”He was intoxicating and I needed every last drop of him.”

I give this book 4.5⭐️ for its beautiful love story and captivating murder mystery.

Thank you so much to Caz Redpath for the opportunity to read this as an ARC. And also blah on you for the tears in the end 😭😭❤️❤️

This book made me feel things, it made me cry, made me laugh, made me want to scream. Wow. I didn't think I would love the ending because it BROKE me but it actually added an element to the story I actually appreciated.

I don't even know where to begin.. the whole premise of her dad being in prison and them trying to figure out who did it. To them finding out who did it and then realising WHY they did it. The rollercoaster ride she took us on 😭 wow. I'm actually in tears typing this because his death shook me more than finding out why she killed Amber.

The beginning was intriguing and grabbed my attention but James kept me reading. Wow, he was just the perfect man. Till the very end 😭

The whole story was gripping and the ending made the whole book 5 stars for me. They had a good life together and James lived just how he had told Lucy he would. He got the wife, kids and happy life.

I am patiently waiting for more of Lucy. Best believe my girl Lucy WILL be avenging her man!

I will now be going against the author's recommendation and reading the first book now 😭 and what's worse is it's about James's son 😭

Just wow!

I may need to come back and keep adding bits to this review because so many thoughts are whirling around my head right now!

Caz Redpaths writing is like a comfort blanket for me, I can’t explain it really but I just feel so at home in her books.

The way she wrote James was just brilliant, the fact that I could point out mannerisms that Elijah had that mirrored his dad was so good!! She managed to do it without just duplicating the whole personality.

James and Lucy are that old fashioned love that we all aspire to have, and Daines is of course the best friend we all need!

Some of James and Daines’ choices throughout the book are questionable but it all makes for such a good storyline! A thriller mixed in with a romance - the style of story that you just don’t come across too often! As the story grew, it was just twist after twist and I would never have guessed it!

Nothing, absolutely nothing could prepare me for the last few chapters though…. I need time to recover emotionally now lol

Note to self - do not get emotionally attached to a fictional family 🤣

Huge congratulations to Caz on another amazing book and thank you so much for sending me this eARC
