BIIIG INCLUSIVITY ISSUE AND SPREAD OF MISINFORMATION
Do yall have any idea how rare to find an Arab FMC written by a non-Middle eastern? And one in an MC romance nevertheless????
I was so excited when I reached Twisted book I've been reading this series and it's spin offs for so long The wonderful thing about MC romance series is that you most definetly will find diversity
When they include a Native American, or Latina I read a review by one from those backgrounds to make sure that no misinformation is spread.
Reading through the first pages, I was so happy to find an Arabic Dictionary (although some were clearly Googled because I did not understand how to read them) add to that the author ""consulted"" Syrian readers!!! Why??? The main character is from Qatar??? That is a whole different culture!!!!!
I wanted to like the book I truly did! But it was so offensive I couldn't get through 46%
Let's start with the Grouping of the Middle East You do know that the Middle East is not One country right? And that having war in one ME does not mean that the others are suffering? Especially the Gulf
Did you know that Qatar, the country the FMC is supposedly from, is one of the wealthiest and safest? So why did Zahirah's family had to flee when "things happen in the Middle East?""" Is beyond me!!!!!
I don't know where the author got the info that there are Christian Qataris??? There are Christians living in Qatar for sure but not Qataris. Qatar is a pure Muslim Add to that the Husseini family is a Muslim name and definetly not Qatari
Not to mention that Qatar is the most welcoming to other religions amongst its Gulf sisters So what BS was this ???👇👇👇 She helped us both to learn to navigate the world even when we ran into those who were prejudiced against us. It wasn’t anything new. In our own country, we faced it from our own people who were Muslim because we weren’t.
Did you know that the Qatari citizen has one of the highest income in the world? And that even if you don't work, you'll be set to life because the Qatari government pays for everything and gives salaries even when you are unemployed?
So tell me again why Zahirah would stay in a country subjecting her neice and nephew to racism and sexual harassment???
Islamophobia well, more like Islamo-hate
Unlike some of the extremely traditional Muslim families back home, being Christian, we didn’t believe in not educating girls.
I'm sorry what?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
As a Muslim Arab Female from the Middle East, I can point out the structure and grammar mistakes found in each paragraph in this book! And that is with my "extremely traditional Muslim" background that "don't believe in educating girls" 😡😡😡😡😡
This goes on when I introducing the "villian" of Zahirah's life who is vile and misogynistic because "The way Faheem’s face turned purple made me want to smile. I’d never liked the egotistical misogynist. He was undoubtedly a throwback. Unlike his ab, he was Muslim rather than a Christian and adhered strictly to the old ways.
So because he became Muslim he became bad unlike his father who is good bec he is Christian?! May I remind you all that it was the Chritian Western world that brought war and destruction to the middle East!! Pleeeese
Then Twisted says We’re not in Qatar, and from what I know, her ab wasn’t living in the Dark Ages. He raised her to be a modern, independent woman
This about Qatar!! That had the best World Cup and highest technology and best salaries?
the use of the Arabic words I don't know whom the author consulted, but these Syrians either were born and raised in the US or never spoke an Arabic word in their life! Who in these days says "bihaq El jaheem" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 بحق الجحيم I laughed so hard This came out of the movies of old تبا لك ثكلتك أمك 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
And "ab", "om"!!!!!! Nooooooo These are the indefinite names of "father", "mother"
We say "Ummi" = my mother أمي "Abbee" = my father أبي
But the most laughable word was "lemonana" Oh my God! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂
It's Lemo-nada لموناضة
I'm definite that if I continted, I'd find more atrocities where Muslims are painted bad, Christian are the good, and the white man is the savior
Between seeing representation in books and being represented in this way, I'd rather not be represented at all
I loved reading Twisted and Zari's story. This story had its twists and turns with the light hearted fun of being a new couple. I enjoyed reading the interracial aspect within the story as well.
While some things mentioned within this story are sensitive to some, I would advise you to pay attention to any warnings that the book may have.
When Twisted found Zari it was by pure luck considering the circumstances. Zari is the epitome of a momma bear lashing out at anyone around her and her family. Turns out that Twisted and Zari, are mire to each other than they both think.
Plot and character combination is perfect. Seeing more brothers introduced in thus book was great. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
Twisted's Storm (Pagan Souls MC Book 4) by Ciara St. James is an awesome MC romance read with characters that really spoke to me. Zahirah is feminine strength personified and Twisted is all alpha protector. Gotta love a hero that steps in when one is truly needed and in this story, two young innocents truly need Twisted in a dire moment. The book takes you on a journey of romantic interest to full-blown love while danger and threats hang in the balance for Zahirah. Twisted and the Pagan Souls live up to their alpha-protector roles, taking Zahirah and her young charges under their protective wings. Overall, the journey to love and a happy ending is fraught with danger and internal conflicts that create obstacles. But nothing will stop Twisted's persistence as he pursues Zahirah. No matter what, these two work together to reach the HEA they want, need and deserve. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
Ciara st james made Twisted's storm such a great read. Pega. Souls of Cherokee Mc are following in their friends footsteps. Going legal but always protecting the innocent. Zahirah is a kick ass and for this reader it was educational learning about her culture and beliefs. Great reading Btw she left us with a cliffhanger can't wait for Mace' s story
This is the next book in this series. It shows how strong people come together to help other people , and become a family . When Twister and Zari meet, the attraction is immediate for the two of them. Zari is a naturalized citizen, and has put up with hateful people since she and her family came to this country. She is hoping that by being the bigger person will show hr niece and nephew, that eventually it will make itself right. Twister sees the kids and helps them, and then keeps an eye on them, to make sure they are not hurt especially the niece. He has push back from Zari, but he soon wins her over. They both form a team to protect the kids and along the way their feelings turn into something much more and lasting.
A lot of issues with this. Not very well written for most of the book.
Oh boy. It started off well but then went rapidly downhill. I don’t even know where to start. Zari is from Qatar and is a Christian. I don’t think there are any Qataris that are Christian. (?) She looks after her neice and nephew as her brother and sister in law were killed. When Twisted witnesses kids bullying Arif and Aliyah he steps in to save them and makes sure they get home okay. Weeks later when he’s riding home again he sees the same kids bullying Arif and Aliyah. (In the same place. 😂) This time he goes to their house and meets Zari. He’s instantly smitten but is absolutely convinced for some reason that she’s married.
When they meet again later and he finds out that she’s single, and that she moved to America because of the Middle East problems. Erm what Middle East problems in Qatar? At first I didn’t like Zari, because all the men she meets wants her (😂) she’s very scared of Twister. As he tries to help her in her house, with lawn mowing etc, with his club ‘brothers’ Zari gets really angry. Erm why??? I don’t understand.
As they get closer and fall in love Twister is enraged by how many men assume that because she’s from another country that she’s a wh*re. Her bank manager propositions her, she designs jewellery for a store and the store manager makes it clear he wants her, the kids school principal makes it obvious that he wants her, and she feels wary of him. A policeman looks at her with lust in his eyes. Seriously??? So all American men apart from the Mc brothers judge her as a wh*re??? 😡😡😡😡 That is really bad writing!
Anyway moving on. The group of lads who were bullying Arif and Aliyah make it clear to Aliyah that she is also a wh*re and they intimidate her and sexually assault her. This is awful.
There’s the usual arguments with the club bunnies, and lots of sex, and that’s about it. There is a lot more that I could say but I won’t.
Zahirah and twisted was a great read 📚 Zahirah is doing her best to take care of her niece and nephew after losing her family and has to deal with a lot not just as a women from a culture where women are not necessarily treated as equal to men racism from people on her town which then has put her niece and nephew in the line of fire and people who are meant to help keep safe are as prejudice as the people doing it. Then a man who thinks she needs to be put back in her place and boss trying to strong arm her. She isn't going down without a fight and raising her niece and nephew the same way but can't do all herself where can she turn queue twister who stands up for the kids then meets Zahirah and falls head over heals and will do what it takes to keep her and the kids safe the relationship between not only Zahirah but the kids is amazing twisted and even the club willingness to learn about her culture with love and respect is 👏 amazing.
Ciara did amazing job to highlight this story and giving us a look into a culture and issues they face on daily basis and great to include arbic language and customs
Twisted and Zahirah's courtship kicked off with a misunderstanding. He noticed two kids being bullied and he shadowed them home to make sure they made it safe. When he approaches their house a short time later, he comes face to face with the most fascinating woman he has ever seen. Zahirah is so strong to have taken up the role of mother and father when her niece Aliya and nephew Arif were left orphaned. Losing her brother and sister-in-law left her in charge of their little family. Being from Qatar, they stick out in a small Southern town and face hate and suspicion all the time. Having Twisted and the Pagan Souls in their lives changes everything. Now since this is a CSJ books, Twisted makes a mistake that almost derails their relationship. Fortunately, it wasn't a big misstep and he asked for help. They are such a strong couple, I really loved how they clicked so well together. He and the MC really embrace Zahirah and kids' culture which was awesome. Such a fun read!!!
I loved how Twisted noticed something was wrong with the kids and did what he could for them a couple times before really knowing what was going on. So it was interesting when he met Zahirah and the attraction kicked in. Zahirah and the kids were a bit stunned with Twisted and all the MC guys as they started to help with the problem the kids had and more. I found it really funny that it was the boy who seemed to know the most of MC's and would tell his aunt what he knew.
As everyone got to know each other it was fun, there was great respect on both sides and you could tell that Zahirah and the kids like the family aspect. So of course things would go tits up when Twisted felt he needed to clue in Zahirah about the bunnies. Whew boy...that did not go well and almost ended everything. When things were finally cleared up, 2 new threats came and both were dealt with in the appropriate manner. I didn't feel one bit sorry, especially for the boy, the punishment seemed fitting.
Twisted’s Storm is the fourth book in the Pagan Souls of Cherokee MC series and follows Twisted as he intervenes when he sees some kids being bullied. This eventually leads him to meet Zahirah, who is the kids aunt, and begin his chase to win over the woman of his dreams.
This was another good book with a story that I found interesting and drew me in from the beginning. I liked the characters, especially how quickly Twisted became invested in the kids and making sure they were ok. I also liked how the story came together, and watching the relationship build, not only between Twisted and Zahirah, but between Twisted and the kids too. I loved how the three of them were accepted as family without any quibbles as well, and I find family to be a big theme in these books.
Overall, this was another brilliant book and one I would recommend reading.
This book touched on an issue that is a huge problem today. What Zahirah and the kids deal with on a daily basis is very sad but thankfully there are people like Storm and the rest of the club around to help them. Storm and Zahirah have a battle ahead of them but Storm is up for the job. He shows her their are good people out their that do overlook your race and accept you for who you are. It’s a great story and I fell in love with this couple instantly and you will too. They have their ups and downs but Storm hangs tough and fights for his to show her he’s in it for good and accepts the kids as if they were his own. Definitely recommend you should read the whole series. Another great story!!
This is the first book in the Pagan Souls of Cherokee that I’ve read and I can’t wait on read the rest! Not sure why I started the reading out of order but I’m glad I did because I loved that the heroine is Middle Eastern and it’s an interracial couple. As a brown girl that loves romance - diversity in the genre isn’t all that prevalent so this was a nice surprise. Zari & Twisted’s story is swoon worthy. It had a little bit of everything - including steamy sexy smut 🤭. It was a fun read and I recommend to anyone that is looking to get lost in a love story.
Twisted has been envious of the live his brothers found. He wants that love connection and woman to build a family with. Zariah has been raising her niece and nephew since her brother and his wife died. When Twisted saw them being bullied he intervened he worried about them and couldn’t shake the feeling they were important. Meeting Zariah changed his world and he knew she was amazing but he was afraid she wouldn’t accept him and his world. This story is so good and as they dive into things they realize there is more at stake than bullying. Loved this book and the series!!
Oh my gosh this was such a good story. I love the way St. James gives us such richly developed characters. Twisted and Zari and all that they go through to be together to reach their happily ever after makes for a page turner of a story. When they meet he has just rescued her niece and nephew from school bullies. Prejudice against those we perceive as different is a theme in this book. Twisted and Zari are a steamy couple and there are many intimate scenes in this book that are so hot. As always there are threats that the club has to deal with. This is a great story, I recommend that you read it.
This book delves into the prejudice that people deal with daily in this world. Zahirah does an amazing job raising her niece and nephew while dealing with the hate we have in the world. It was so good to see the club take them in and love them big despite the difference in skin color religion ect. Twisted found his family, he has always wanted and fell hard. Ciara did a great job with the book it's a hard topic to discuss. Some people like to bury their heads about the reality of the world we live in.
Twisted is getting older and wants to fall in love and have a family but doesn’t think it will happen for him, Zahirah is bringing up her niece and nephew while her brother is deployed. Twisted steps in when the kids are being bullied and meets Zahirah and the love story begins. As we have come to expect from a Ciara St James book there’s conflict, drama, love and family I highly recommend this author, series and book, you won’t be disappointed with a book from this author ❤️🖤
The story like is interesting, and I'm not regretting that I read it. That said, the execution could be better. There's shallow character development of potentially really interesting characters and parts of the story strain credulity. I get it's fiction, but it has to be believable to a degree. It has the potential to be amazing and instead it was good. I won't read it again and probably will avoid this author for the most part unless I'm looking for an easy escapist read without expectations.
Twisted sees some kids getting bullied, and being the hero he is, he steps in. That's when he meets Zahirah, the kids' aunt, and let's just say sparks fly. I thought this book was great, the story was interesting, and the characters were well-developed. I especially liked how Twisted took the kids under his wing, and how his relationship with Zahirah progressed. What I loved most, though, was how the three of them formed a little family. It's a theme that runs throughout these books - family is everything. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this book
Book number four of Pagan Souls series- Twisted and Zahirah’s story. This book delves into prejudice’s that many people harbor. It also addresses what some people will do to get their hands on money that they feel is theirs when it isn’t. It definitely shows how the men of this MC are over the top protective of the women and children of the club. Loved the book and can’t wait for the next book.
This story was so intense and profound. I love the way Twisted is with the FMC and her family. When these men find their one it is a special moment but when their happiness is threatened it makes it tough to see a happy ending. Twister’s Storm being who she is has known hate but also how to come out stronger because she knows what’s right. Absolutely love this couple and they are a definite inspiration and favorite among this MC.
What a sexy couple! I think I fanned myself more than a few times. Twisted is so understanding and kind. He really shows Zari how serious he is about having her in his life. Zari is unique with lots of color. I love her occupation if you want to call it one. She is passionate about her jewelry. To include I was on the edge of my seat during the many action filled chapters. It was a good read for me. Great job Ciara!
This book was such an emotional read but so very well written by such a gifted author with a gift of storytelling that will pull you in, pull at your heart strings, make you laugh & keep you wanting more. Overall I just love Zahirah's character she was a feisty protective woman who had me cheering her on! And of course who doesn't like another Alpha fall to his knees over finding his old lady!
Vicious, Ashes & Dragon’s Entrenchment is book 18 in the already amazing Tenillo Guardians AIMC series written by the talented author Ciara St. James. A must read and great addition to the Ares Infidels MC, Go Buy it! You will not be disappointed. Loved so much, Micaela & her 3 hot sexy biker's story. There chemistry was off the charts. No Spoilers! This author writes such awesome stories, each book is better than the last one. Highly recommended!!
I’m genuinely speechless right now. In shock at the revelation that happened at the end of the book. Who’s the lady & whats going on.
But most importantly I can’t believe what was found about a certain someone & his computer. I know I shouldn’t laugh but I can’t help it. Ciara that scene you wrote when Twisted & Mace found him in his house was hilarious. I was laughing so hard I had tears. This book was definitely filled with action of all kinds. Can’t wait to read Mace now.
This book expertly deals with assumptions we make about one’s culture and the hatred spewed as a result. There are also other twists and turns as only Ms. James can do. This book brings awareness also to bullying and its effects on children and adults. I highly recommend.
The storyline was awesome. Showing the development of a family of different cultures and how they are in involved and accepted in the MC the crisis. What young girl suffered was very sad, but the resolution was awesome. Twisted showed so much compassion, determination and love towards the three that it was, unbelievable.
