Loved the start of this book. Except the dead ex ick... but the meet cute was still great.

Then the dead ex ick just continued on and on and on.

Lila, you love him, why? Just because of the Os? Cause he's really horrible. Like, not just grumpy. He's a dick.

Lila has no spine. I don't know how she walks around. She just let's him fuck her then totally disregard her. He then kidnaps her. She throws a tanty, he isolates her for a few days then boom, fucks her and all is well? Whyyyy?

They have no relationship? There's nothing swoony/romantic/cute or even friendly between them. Just sex and him pondering his dead ex 🙄 who is perfect and beautiful and sassy and so wonderful with his sister 🤢

Reads like a wattpad book. So many tropes. So much stupidity.
It’s so poorly written by head hurts from trying to finish. I figured maybe it gets better, there’s so many positive reviews. But at over halfway I just wanted both mcs to grow up.
He’s a mafia don and she’s a one night stand. But they act like they’re his 15 year old sister.
The only trope missing is that he’s a WeReWoLf

Literal grammar and spelling errors. Predictable plot. Finished it simply because it was quick to read.

I gotta stop taking book recommendations from TikTok. 😬 Like this was not good yall. I don’t even wanna do a full review because it’s essentially just smut over plot with no emotional connection. At about 30% of the way through it became a hate read.

Andre had more of a connection with his dead fiancée Valentina than he did Lila. And Lila was SPINELESS. Andre literally abducts Lila and after his little sister comes in to talk to her. After that one convo Lila forgives Andre’s kidnapping ways 🙄🙄🙄 where is the grovel 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 where is the big bad mafia daddy apologizing and admitting his errors?

Also the book makes it a point to give Lila a career but all we know is she works at the company Andre eventually buys. Is she in sales? IT? Accounting?? 👀 Eventually she becomes his executive assistant and it’s acted like that’s a promotion but you can’t make her a vague career woman 🫣😩who does that? 😅

TLDR;
This book was too long for how low quality it was. Don’t read it.

Book started off great and I loved how they met!! But as the book went on I wanted to quit ( im not a quitter so I read on).

Andres was a major duchebag. You know I had high hopes for him but he let me down. Lila has NO backbone what so ever!! She just lets Andres fuck her and walk away and yet she still goes back to him. Like I get it, the D was good but not that good to be humiliated over and over again! I thought once she got the information she needed that she would hightail out of there but of course that didn’t happened..

You know how the story goes guy meets girl, they fuck a couple times. Girl leaves, guy tracks her down and locks her away, something tragic happens, and somehow that equates to love and they live happily ever after.

If you’re looking for junior high behavior in grown adults- this might be the book for you.

First- the name is ridiculous. That pretty much tells you how much creativity and effort was put into writing this book. I said what I said.

These two both fall into insta-obsession after a ONS. It’s definitely obsession on both sides. They’re both a bit unbelievably immature with their obsessive behavior after spending a few short hours together. Like junior high school crush on steroid instead of grown successful and powerful adults.

“Except now, he broke me. I’m no longer a rational, functional adult. I’m no better than I was at fourteen when I had a crush on a senior at my high school because he smiled at me once in the cafeteria. I was obsessed until the day he graduated and left for college. Did I consider following him to Stanford? Yes, I did.”

Clearly this is a pattern for her 🙄 Girl needs therapy for that.

And he’s the mafia don who has had to resort to sleeping pills to get any sleep at night because he can’t get her out of his mind long enough to get any sleep 🙄

He bought her company and then forced her to take a new position as his assistant- where he sexually harasses her until she gives in and fucks him at work. Only he immediately has regrets and throws her out like she’s a worthless whore, saying to himself “I only hope that she has the good sense to stay as far away from me as possible, before one of us ends up truly getting hurt.” How he thinks that can happen when he’s made sure he can’t get away from him, I’m not sure 🙄

Is she mad about being treated in such a manner? Oh no. Monday morning she comes and she is still waxing poetic over their hot hookup and how “deliciously sore” she is and how “beautifully he ate me up.” Not even finding out she is pregnant with his baby made her think she deserved better apparently. 🤦🏻‍♀️

This pattern continues ad nauseam. They play childish games, mostly at work while she says to herself “I hope my coworkers don’t think I slept my way to the top” as she dresses like a seductress and bangs the boss on the job. 🤦🏻‍♀️ And he is both obsessed with her, but pining over a dead ex at the same time. So good luck competing with a dead woman. Add in some mafia drama. Oh, and a pregnancy.

I can’t. It became increasingly more ridiculous and they got increasingly more idiotic. I mean, I knew from the beginning I wasn’t getting some high brow classic literature…. But it’s like their brain cells were dwindling with each page and the writing more ridiculous.

Eh. . .

Some of the previews sucked me in but I liked them more than I liked the overall work. What got to me most is how utterly stupid the female lead was for somebody who's supposed to be smart. I don't need every female lead to be a badass and save herself. It is okay if once in a while a woman counts on her knight in shining armor. But this broad was so incredibly stupid, I just couldn't. Like seriously how do you not realize with the first aggressive driving maneuvers that the blacked out Range Rover is trying to run the car off the road to kidnap you? I mean you're boinking a mob boss and he's kidnapped you himself because there's a situation and it takes her longer than it should to figure out someone else is trying to kidnap her.

Then her responses were all over the place -- she's throwing furniture at him but then the next time she sees him -- after days of being distraught while he does nothing about her distress -- she's ready to have sex with him? Uh, I don't think so. Oh, and her inner monologues after Lorenzo threatened her were so over dramatic. I just rolled my eyes. Then the hospital scene, she's crying and panicked, the flips on a dime and she's cutsie-sassy professing her love. Ugh, that whole hospital scenario was so hokey. I didn't get romantic chill I was rolling my eyes yet again. Yeah that female character needs work, serious work, or she needs a swirly and to be flushed down the toilet because I just couldn't.

While the female lead was the one who really made me crazy, Andre made some huge mistakes too. Seriously, you have a self absorbed selfish teenage brat for a sister that won't listen and rather than tell her what the serious threat is and what to be on guard against you keep everything from her and just expect her to listen? Are you serious? If that isn't enough he makes the same mistake with Lila that he does with his sister where she puts herself in danger because she doesn't realize how bad the threat is. I'm so over the keeping information tight to one's male confidants to protect everybody crap -- it never works, not in real life and not in fiction. I mean the saying is information is power for a reason, informed decisions are a thing for a reason, capiche? Then there's of course that same troublesome bratty girl who just wants to go out despite somebody wanting to rape and kill her. Seriously, this is supposed to be a Mafia princess who knows the drill? I don't think so.

So, the base notion behind the plot was solid and a smidge different in that the male lead actually loved a woman deeply prior to meeting the female lead rather than JUST being the cliched mob f*ckboy. Andre was protective without being cliched bdsm kinky, and the over the top with the swagger. And Marco the brother was probably the coolest character.

It would have helped to make the female lead more intelligent and less pathetic and whiny, panting after a guy that makes it seem like she's nothing but a sex toy, instead of getting herself in a jam when the most logical thing would have been to tell somebody what was going on, even if the sister didn't want her to. Yeah I just couldn't - it was fair but it wasn't great.

I mean I have problems with any book where the main character almost has sex with another person after meeting the other main character. Like don’t tell me you have feelings for someone and do this shit. Also home girl needs to get a backbone. Like he kept fucking her then leaving like trash and she took it. The dead ex thing gets annoying after a while. Like we get it. She’s dead. It makes me think you didn’t care about her enough to save her. I love the pregnancy trope. It’s what made me pick this one up but honestly they made me hate it in this. Like he was an asshole and she was a pushover. Nothing ever changed about that. I think they would last but only because she’s too weak to move on from his toxicness.

Ruthless Mafia Daddy is part of the Alpha Mafia Daddies series. Ruthless Mafia Daddy follows the story of Lila and Andre.

Ruthless Mafia Daddy Details:
Lila is a young woman who is still coming to terms about being hoodwinked by her ex-boyfriend with one of her so-called friends. Her bff gets her a date and she is bored to tears. The guy can't stop talking about his gamer life including Pokémon. She made her friend agree to call her an hour after the date starts to give her an out but she didn't. As she is preparing to use the restroom excuse, a gorgeous older man comes to her rescue.

Andre is in a bar and has his eye on the most gorgeous woman he's seen in a long time. He decides to go rescue her. They spent the night together. As she's getting ready to leave the following morning she over hears information that could get her killed. When he figures out she heard something she shouldn't have he has her investigated. Then he manages to buy the company where she works at. They each are becoming obsessed with each other. Then Lila gets even more stressed..... she finds out she's pregnant. When he manages to follow her to the doctor's office and talks to the doctor he doesn't know what to do. Why is she keeping this from him? This is a bad time for any of this to happen. He is going to war with another Don and she and his baby could get caught in the crossfire. What will they do? Will they get past the issues and insanity?

Review:
Ruthless Mafia Daddy is a steamy, romantic, and dangerous. The suspense is ramped up all through this novel but especially towards the end. Andre is a possessive alpha, with ruthlessly brutal tendencies in his work, but a softy for those he loves. But Lila pushes his buttons in more than one way, which he loves about her. Ruthless Mafia Daddy is written beautifully, I absolutely fell in love with the characters, the romance, and humor, but also the drama and danger make for an intense at times plot. In all honesty, I couldn't put this book down for a single second because I need to know what was happening in the story next. I would most certainly encourage anyone to give this book a read. I'm looking forward to reading more books written by Kira Cole.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I liked this book & enjoyed the storyline. Was this the best mafia book I’ve ever read, no but it was decent. I would say I wished the author had developed more or went into more detail about Andre’s former fiancé because I think it would have helped develop a better connection & understanding to his character. Andre rescues Lila from a blind date and they end up having a one night stand that results in a pregnancy. Lila overhears something and takes off in the middle of the night thinking Andre doesn’t know her, they didn’t exchange numbers and he will just forget about her. Andre figures out she must have take off because she overheard his conversation and he sets out to find her. He finds out who she is & calls her. Lila thought it was best to ignore him & his calls and blocks his number. A few weeks later he shows up at her job as her new boss & soon discovers she’s pregnant.

This one was different but I enjoyed it!
Lila was on the blind date from hell when Dante saved her from the date and one thing led to another and she went home with him. Push comes to shove and they have a sex-filled night she then finds out that he is a Mafia boss and she leaves. When she leaves she goes home vows never to see him again and tries to keep him out of her mind!
Then her whole life turns upside down when he becomes her boss and she starts to suspect that she's pregnant with Dante's baby. This is a twisty book filled with many predictable plots, but if you just want a good brain candy read on an afternoon, this is a good one!

This was ok. It filled the time which is all I needed it to do.

Can't lie though. The first office scene I was sure was a dream because actions weren't matching the inner dialogues.

I listened to the audio super fast which was a bonus.

DNFed this book at 3%. I could not stand the writing style. Sentences should not start with the word “and”. The paragraphs being so short is another huge reason I couldn’t finish this book. It seems like it was written by a teen on wattpad.

I have to be honest; I don’t normally like it when real people are on the cover of books, but y’all, the AI-generated man on the cover of this one got me. I saw him and knew I had to read this gem.

What are you doing, Nicole? The dude isn’t even real. He’s computer-generated. Time to get committed.

I picked this up knowing it was going to be a smutfest with little to no plot. I mean, come on, the title of this book implies it.

I read a sample on Facebook, saw the title, and said, “You son of a bitch, I’m in.” I mean, a ruthless mafia daddy sounds like a good time, right?

Imagine my surprise when I was able to snag it on Kindle for free. Which is also why I didn’t care that this was going to be a book with very little substance. I think that was a limited-time offer, but I know it’s available on Kindle Unlimited.

Folks, I got swindled! What in the poorly written Wattpad story was this mess!?

This is supposed to be about the romance between mafia don Andre De Luca and Lila Morano. The characters and aspects of their relationship confused the mess out of me. How did these two even fall in love? How can you form a relationship and develop feelings for someone when you're face is down, ass up, every time you see them? Their whole relationship hinged on sexual acts and chemistry. Andre spent most of his time plowing Lila into oblivion.

These two disgusted me: Lila went through two traumatic experiences . Right after both those things occurred, all the two of them wanted to do was have sex. How is banging even on your mind when dealing with these kinds of situations? WHAT THE HELL!?

Lila is almost always “deliciously sore” after her sexual encounters with Andre. At one time she is “deliciously sore” three days after they have sex; maybe she should see a doctor about that. I don’t know about others, but I don’t find anything “delicious” about being sore all day every day. While she’s at it, Lila might as well also see a doctor about the number of times her mouth “actually watered” while looking at Andre; that might be a serious medical condition.

Lila Morano: This woman was an insufferable mess.  After spending one night with Andre when he saves her from a horrible date, she just “CoUlDn’T gEt AnDrE oUt Of hEr HeAd.” Despite the fact that Lila figured out he was a dangerous mafia don. Get your priorities straight, girl. She even gets off to thoughts of their night together the very next day to get Andre out of her system for good.

However, Lila was obsessed with a fellow student when she was in high school, so becoming quickly obsessed with men seems to be an unhealthy pattern for her. She might want to look into therapy. In general, her character is very immature for a woman who’s supposed to be in her 20s. Her and Andre’s 15-year-old sister, Rosa, are on the same maturity level.

She just made horrible decisions even when her life was being threatened. Lila knows what kind of lifestyle Andre leads. So, you think she would have some kind of inkling what’s going on, but no, she’s totally oblivious.

Andre buys Lila’s place of employment just so he could see her again since she blocked his calls and was ignoring him. Because why wouldn’t he? They have multiple sexual encounters when both of them are alone at the office, and every single time after they’re done, he kicks her to the curb and hopes she has enough common sense to stop allowing Andre to just use her body for sex. Well, guess what? Lila has zero common sense or self-respect because she always comes crawling back the very next day. Part of me can’t blame her for that because Lila does work for Andre and she has bills to pay. Regardless, she allows Andre to use her however he pleases. Lila wants to get revenge and make Andre crave her as much as she craves him. She wears inappropriate dresses to work just to get his attention and all but throws herself at the man.  LIKE WHAT!?  LILA, GET A GRIP! This man is the definition of TOXIC. Lila thought she was some kind of badass, but in reality she was an immature doormat.

Andre De Luca: Andre is supposed to be older (I’m guessing he’s in his early to mid-30s) and more mature, except he isn’t. He is almost as much of an adolescent as Lila. Andre had to take pills to help him sleep at night because he couldn’t get Lila off his mind since their one-night stand. Oh please, this man kills people for a living, and she’s the reason he couldn’t sleep at night!? Andre also bought Lila’s place of employment just so he could see her again since she blocked his calls and was ignoring him. He wants to keep her close since she overheard something she shouldn’t have when he was talking on the phone during their night together, and he doesn’t want her going to the police about it, but at the same time he wants to stay away from her because he knows that she doesn’t deserve to be pulled into the kind of life he leads. Yet, he works side by side with her day in and day out while continuously making sexual advances towards her. If he wanted to stay away that badly, he could have bought the company and had someone else run it from within the office and just keep an eye on Lila. Instead, he insists on working at the facility with her himself and installs cameras in her apartment when she isn’t home. Just so he can watch her while they aren't at work.

Honestly, I should have known Andre was a man child when he sees Lila go to an obstetrician's office and instantly knows it’s because she’s pregnant. He doesn’t see why women would go to an OBGYN’s office for any other reason. Have you ever heard of annual exams, sweetie? Dude has gone through a lot and seen some heinous shit but doesn’t know the basics of women’s healthcare? Like, come on, he’s a whole ass adult!

Someone also needs to tell this dude that 15-year-olds don’t listen. If you tell them not to do something without giving a strong reason why, they’re going to do it. He can’t just pull Rosa out of school and put her on house arrest without expecting her to rebel in some manner. Hello, that’s how teenagers usually operate. However, Andre is not completely to blame here. Rosa was a clueless, immature child. Mafia princess, where? In her defense, though, both Andre and their brother Marco kept a lot of things hidden from her because of her age. So, that plays a lot into her being so unaware of what's really happening in their daily lives. This guy was just the worst!

The mafia aspect of this story was actually well done. We get more about mafia operations in this book than in others. A lot of times books are marketed as dark mafia romances, and the only mafia thing about it is that the main character is involved with one.

The one character I did like was Andre’s younger brother, Marco. I love the loyalty he had for his family and how unhinged it made him sometimes. I bang with Marco. Dare I say I’d bang Marco?

The smut was fine. Overall, it was decent, but there were some things I had issues with:

For the love of all things holy, can we please stop referring to women’s lady parts as “wet folds"? I just, no, I can’t deal with it. *Dies from cringe*.

Oh, and once Lila mentioned that while they were doing it a la doggy style, Andre’s jing jang brushed against her uterus. That means he would literally have to be all up in her cervix. Sweetie, no. That’s not how it works.

I can probably think of a few other times the sexy moments were cringy, but I can’t remember them off the top of my head.

This book would have greatly benefited from a good editor or at least, at minimum, a reread. There were a lot of grammatical and spelling errors throughout the entire story. I had to read a few sentences more than once because words were missing.

Here is an example of a sentence from one of the chapters: "rolled his eyes." That was it. We know that one of the three characters in the scene rolled his eyes, but we have no idea who it was. I tried to piece it together by the conversation that was going to figure out whose name was supposed to be there, but who knows if I was right. An editor would have had a field day with this one.

All in all, this was a very generic, forgettable mafia romance read. Two stars for pure laughable entertainment.

I’m so glad I didn’t spend money on this. I would be livid if I did.

This is my 4th two-star read in a row. My record is about as good as the Dallas Cowboys’ right now. For those of you who don't watch football, the Dallas Cowboys have only won four games so far this entire season.

TLDR: A DECENT AND QUICK SMUTTY MAFIA READ! JUST DON’T EXPECT TOO MUCH OUT OF IT!

As always, please remember that reading is subjective, and that’s what makes it so great. 😊

A very predictable, but still solid, mafia romance. The storyline goes the same way that most mafia, surprise pregnancy, vengeance stories go. The MMC doesn't want to admit his feelings because he's lost someone before and doesn't want the same thing to happen again. Unfortunately he meets someone who he does develop feelings for, but still doesn't want to give in. But God forbid that she get to continue to live a normal life and he lets her be. No no no, he develops an obsession and wants to be near to her, but he doesn't. The back and forth gets old and he gives her mixed signals for like 50% of the book. The FMC ends up getting pregnant, and he gets even more controlling. She ends up being a pawn over the MMC's quest for vengeance and the FMC almost dying it makes him realize his true feelings and actually admit them to her. The story eventually ends with a HEA for all parties involved, with the exception of the MMC's enemies.
The MMC and FMC have a lot of sexual chemistry and the author can write the hell out of a sex scene. Very descriptive and they go at it like rabbits. The MMC definitely uses sex as a distraction, and there is apparently the need for lots of those throughout the storyline. Nothing too freaky or out of the norm, so I would say 3/5 peppers on the spice scale. Decent mafia story that read quickly and made sense all they way through.

The only thing that I took any issue with is that when the MMC "rescues" the FMC from her horrible date at the beginning of the book and they have their night together, they harsh on that guy an awful lot. Why? Because he likes Pokemon and lives with his mom? The FMC never indicated to him that she wanted to talk about something else. And maybe he was nervous and was talking about what he really knew a lot about. It just felt like a really harsh judgement of the guy and a cruel way to handle things in my opinion. Maybe that little nerd just needed some tlc.

However, he can't afford to give up and quit because he have too many people depending on him. His men and his siblings, everyone depends on him for their well-being and survival. He was allowing himself this one day to mourn while sitting at a bar drinking his scotch. As he scan the room his once more his eyes fell on the beautiful young woman sitting at the bar. She's checked her phone six times in the past two minutes alone. He clench the glass in his hand as he watched the fuckwit opposite her rattle on and on about God knows what, paying attention to his beer in his hand than to drop dead gorgeous woman sitting in front of him. She glances around several times and her demeanor is tight as if she's nervous. His brother Marco was watching their fifteen year old sister who's a handful. As he glanced at gorgeous beauty one more time he thought to himself that maybe he should indulge tonight. Let himself go she looks like she could help him forget his pain for a night.
Before he knew it ge was walking over to where she was at. He reached for her and his fingers tingle from the contact. He was instantly attracted to her. He tells her that she looked good in her dress and that's when her date jumped up with his fists clenched telling him that they were in the middle of a date. Andre toss out her date and took her for himself. Sparks was flying between the two after he saved her from Dirk and Andre decided to take it back to his penthouse hotel room for a night of passion. They both was helping each other out on that night and was addicted to one another. They had a wonderful night together and Andre had plan on taking her some more during the night but he was interrupted by an urgent phone by his brother Marc. He had to leave but he told her to stay at his penthouse and that he'll be back as soon as possible. When he came back he awake her and fuck her back to sleep after three or four rounds. She was going to the restroom and saw that that he was missing from the bed and decided to follow the hush voice. But when Lila overheard Andre on the phone telling Marco to dispose of the body of his snitch Tommy before sunrise and he wanted his Lorenzo Rossi to wake up to it on his doorstep her blood runs cold.
She knew she didn't have any business listening to his conversation and knew that Lorenzo was in the mafia from an article that she had read she hurry up and got dressed took off. She knew that it was time to leave and based on the conversation that Lorenzo was his rival which means that he was also in the mafia. She called an Uber and went home. As soon as she got home the Google him. Her blood turned to ice and her stomach sink when she realized that she had slept with the Don of the De Luca Mafia. When Andre comes out of his office and saw that she was gone he knew immediately that she had overheard his conversation and send one of his men to follow her Uber so that he can get her address. She's was suppose to only be a one night stand but because of his mistake taking a business call with her in the next room he's now scrambling to fix it by having his PI chasing her down so that he can ensure that she doesn't go blabbing to the police or worse the press. She's supposed to be a one night stand but somehow she has intrigue him more than any other woman before and she had been the best sex of his life.
Andre as given Lila the most amazing sex of her life, but he's one of the most dangerous men in the country. He hasn't left her mind for one second since she left the Ritz Carlton penthouse. She will never tell anyone what she overheard last night. She'd never do that to him. There's something about him that makes her want to protect him. When Andre tried to reach out to Lila she blocked him, so he had to get a little creative and offer her boss Max Mason an offer he couldn't use for his company. He purchased the company where she worked at so that he could keep a closer eye on her plus to be closer to her because her can't stay away from her, so now she will be working under him. Lila had been sick for four days and absent from her job. Lila found out that she's pregnant but kept it a secret from Andre in fear of him telling her to get rid of it. They was obsessed with each other and would fuck all over the office on every surface. But when Andre found out that she was carrying his child/heir and didn't tell him he was livid. He never wanted children because they would be a target for his enemies. He had his brother kidnapped her after he was followed from her apartment and brought her to the main house. She was livid, Andre would protect his family at all cost. I'm going to stop here.

This was just ok read. MMC Andre is a mafia Don with a dead wife who he loved and the MFC Lila is a regular girl on a blind date that is not going well. Andre rescues her and they end up having sex.

He is obsessed with her from the beginning but thinks he can’t have her he promised his dead wife he would never love another. Anyhow he buys the company she works at promotes her to be us assistant and he fucks her again and again but always leaves right after. He installs cameras in her office and home so he can monitor her. She ends up pregnant he finds out takes her for her safety and she is kidnapped and rescued by Andre. HEA. There was a lot of sex not so much in developing the relationship between them so you were left wondering how they were all ready in love. A couple inconsistencies such as at one point he thinks how he had plans with his wife for kids, grandkids etc. but then later he thinks “I never wanted children because they are targets…..”. Pretty big point to flip flop on.

The writing was not bad but the inconsistency of some items and the excessive sex without developing the romance left me just feeling blah about this book.

Ehh

I spent the whole book wondering if I've read this already. Very similar to other mafia books of a guy falling for a girl and then giving her basically no choice but to be with her and she just goes with it.

1.5 stars!
This book got increasingly worse the longer it went on. There is next to no plot, no romance, nothing, apart from some ongoing grammar issues. The characters are both as bad as the writing.

All the reviews I saw were correct. I didn’t care for the book. I was listening just to listen. I couldn’t finish the book. The two did act like children. The hero, I didn’t feel like he was a mafia don. I felt like that was thrown in just because. I stopped on chapter 29, why? Because the heroine throw a tantrum and started throwing things at the hero and all I saw was that the maids are gonna have to clean up after her.😅

This was sooooo fucking boring.

It started off decently, then went to hell in a hand basket.

Andre “rescued” Lila from a bad blind date. He takes her back to his penthouse hotel room and they do the nasty most of the night. He leaves early and that’s when we find out he’s some type of mafia boss. Except there’s another mafia boss in the same city, who is his sworn rival. I’m not even sure which mafia he’s part of, if any. Usually. It’s some form of Irish, Italian, Russian, Colombian, etc. Instead. It’s just sort of ambiguous. He’s a bad guy who is head of a bunch of other bad guys.

Andre had a fiancé who died over 5 years ago. The first time we see him is with him counting down the exact time of how many days it’s been since she died. He’s never loved another woman but her. He’ll never love again. He feels guilty about having feelings for Lila. Blah blah blah.

And of course, Lila gets pregnant their first time together. If she hadn’t already been pregnant, she would have been all the times she let him use her for sex, while in the office, before he would just zip up and leave. Her tolerating this obvious bullshit, was because she was extremely horny her first few weeks of pregnancy.

She puked for about a week, found out she was pregnant and instantly became horny. That was the justification for letting him use her as a cum dump before leaving the office.

Here’s what I don’t understand. She was so worried about appearances and not having coworkers think she slept her way to the top. Andre tracks her down, buts the company she works for, becomes CEO, fires the assistant and promotes Lila in her place. Then, fucks Lila for several weeks at work. Sure, it’s usually after work, but no one has an idea that it’s going on? Lila is no longer concerned with anyone thinking she’s sleeping with the boss.

Then again. He kidnapped her, after finding out she’s pregnant, and neither have been in the office for weeks. So I’m sure someone there has put the pieces together.

Andre had to raise his younger brother and is still raising his younger sister, who is 15. He’s pulled his sister out of school, because this other mafia boss is after her to use her for leverage. This is also why he kidnapped Lila. So that guy couldn’t use her or the baby against him. Instead of telling his sister that she’s in danger, he pulls her out of school and says she can’t go anywhere.

Of course, she does and when I quit reading, she was at one of the other mafia boss’s night clubs,at 15, and called Lila to come get her.

Lila tells the bodyguard, that has a room next to the sister but didn’t hear her leaving out her windows, that they’re having a slumber party. She then slips out the window. You’re telling me that a mafia boss doesn’t have alarms on all the windows and doors? That a 15 yr old was able to get behind the wheel of a car and drive off the property and no one noticed? That Lila is going to be able to do the same? This is the most inept mafia I’ve ever seen. They deserve to be kidnapped by the other mob boss. They’re too stupid to live.

This had a good premise, but a horrible execution. I was so bored with all the fucking, the way Lila has no self respect. The way she’s so horny she doesn’t give a shit if someone catches them ducking at work or even that he just uses her as a convenient cum dumpster and then takes off.

I could go on and on about all the shit I don’t like about this book. For your own sanity, don’t read it.

The first part of this book was great, I could even get behind some of the very predictable tropes, mafia Don buying her company to be her boss sure I mean whatever. BUT then it started to have some flaming plot holes and things that I couldn’t couldn’t do, I mean I still finished it because I felt that if I was going to do a review it needed to be a full review.
1. through the whole book it talks about how she’s focused on her career and worked hard on getting a promotion but then never talks about what type of job though. she does have her own office and then suddenly he makes her his assistant? Like why couldn’t she still be a higher up manager and still have all the tension of working together?
2. She doesn’t tell him about the pregnancy because she’s scared he will make her get rid of the baby and when he finds out he rages at her but then after a 3 min conversation everything’s fine and they have sex….
3. He has his brother kidnap her to keep her safe since she’s now pregnant and he needs to keep her safe because someone followed him BUT
- He had to call his brother to get her, why couldn’t he call her and tell her his brother is coming over
- His brother used chloroform on her, not sure how safe that is for a pregnant lady
- He handcuffed her to a bed….like let’s totally put this pregnant woman you are in love with and this baby you super want in undo stress….he could have woken her up after the chloroform cuddling her in his bed but no chained her to a bed
- After she was reasonably mad at him and threw things he left her locked alone in a room for days while she “calmed down” then it’s all cool and they have sex again?
- When he finally lets her out of her room she has a conversation with his teenage sister and forgives him because he’s just “over protective”
- Then they go on a walk around the estate and have sex in a pond in front of his men but when they first met at the bar she didn’t want to be so public with kisses and now she’s naked in front of strangers
- Penetration under water…can you say yeast infection?
4. The teen sister sneaks out of the house and then the FMC goes after her….solo…pregnant…while knowing the rival family is hunting them…I am not sure she has brains any more by this point
But yes this book is something.

I HAVE TO stop taking recommendations from Booktok/Bookstagram because they all suck.

Lila had the personality of a wet blanket. Apparently, she has a job - what does she do? No idea, we actually never see her work. She spends most of her time in the office banging her boss and drinking coffee. When she realizes she’s pregnant by her mafia “boss,” she never once makes a plan. Apparently, her plan was to hide it from him, even though they basically share an office and her clothes come off for him every time he breathes her way.

Speaking of the “mafia boss,” Andre is weird and doing wayyyy too much. He talks/narrates about how he loves his siblings, but when he talks TO them, it sounds like he hates his brother and spoils his sister. His enemy murdered his fiancée an unknown length of time ago, and they’ve been at war ever since. That same enemy puts a target on his teenage sister, and instead of a REAL PLAN, he somehow has time to buy a company, impregnate a woman, bring two different women back to his hotel, fall “in love” with the baby mama, and set up a million security cameras to stalk her in her apartment and at her job without her ever noticing. The book claims he’s ruthless when he’s actually unbelievable and creepy. But I guess that title wouldn’t sell.

The only believable thing about this book is that a woman on birth control could get pregnant by a one night stand. This book reads like it was started by a teenager when “Twilight” or “50 Shades” were at their peak, then had the sex scenes fleshed out by an adult - AND STILL MISSED THE MARK. The fact that the majority of the story happens within two to three months is insanely unrealistic. So glad I didn’t pay for this book.

This was unsurprisingly, not good! 😂

The only reason that I'm giving this two stars instead of one star is because, one I finished it, and two I didn't immediately wish for it to be set on fire (that is my scale yes 😅).

What brought me to this book was I saw one reel featuring a scene where the MMC finds out the FMC is pregnant and she has been hiding it from him (idk why that my thing these days but I am eating it up 🤭). I kept pushing forward to get to that scene really expecting this dramatic moment, and it was just meh 🤷🏼‍♀️. It was just the same MMC (Andre) being dominant in a really laughable and not sexy at all way.

Andre the MMC was the most wishy washy, cry baby, psycho Mafia man I've read. I can get behind a Mafia man who murders for the greater good, or even just for the FMC... this guy really just liked beating people to a pulp and for what?? He also kept bringing up this past love interest that died, that he said he would “never get over” but honestly I feel like he just couldn't get over that he lost her to his rival and less so that he was actually in love her (but that's just my two sense on the man).

Lila the FMC, has absolutely no backbone. When she ran away from this man after overhearing him on the phone talking about disposing of a body I really thought she was smart. But then she just kept giving in to him and not in a cute way.

The plot of this was also just boring and predictable. Then when the big bad enemy was defeated we went straight to a boring epilogue and that was the end!

Somewhat a waste of time overall and that's sort of on me. I mean who other than me would look at that cover and title and think this was a good idea? 😅
