Anxious Jade Abella blames herself for her parents' debt from a tragic childhood accident she knows nothing about. When her parents lose their home, she’s forced to move into the Ash’s mansion in gloomy Oaksville, Oregon.
The Ash’s son, Kian—looked at as a black sheep at Oak Academy—shows Jade a side of his personality the other students never see. Their acquaintanceship proves to be more impactful than either of them anticipated, and a graduation celebration trip to Hawaii may be the reason Jade’s life changes forever.
I liked how short this book was--it felt like the perfect length for it. This is a really great book for summer time (or if you're missing summer time), and the romance was really cute.
I enjoyed watching Kian and Jade's relationship grow. It felt very natural and I loved the friends-to-lovers journey they went on.
The climax was interesting! I had my suspicions throughout the book, so seeing it come true felt very satisfying. I also enjoyed the resolution. It was decently realistic, and I understand all characters' motivations well.
