We have the MMC who we know is a dangerous man but we don’t know exactly what he does beyond owning a couple clubs. He gets rid of anyone who betrays him and gets in his way. Definitely a “ touch her and I’ll kill you vibe.” Reminds me of Julian ( Magnolia Parks series) If you know you know!!
Then we have the FMC who somehow runs into the MMC on a flight to uproot her life. She then ends up going to college with his sister and unexpectedly has a chaotic encounter with him and is “kidnapped”?? Kidnapped but almost turns willingly?? MMC only has a soft spot for her- love this trope.
There’s a couple things regarding the past that I’m still confused on- wondering if this will be explained later on. Excited to see where the author takes it!

I’m a sucker for a "fish out of water" story, and this delivered. The FMC, Daisy, is so relatable—she’s just trying to finish her Master’s and finally escape her overprotective brother, only to land right in the middle of a literal war zone. I loved seeing her push for independence, even when she was way over her head in NYC.
Then there’s the MMC... Riccardo Ricci. 🤌
He is the definition of a "villain gets the girl" anti-hero. He’s cold, calculated, and absolutely lethal. There’s no "curing" him or making him a softie; he’s the Capo Di Tutti Capi for a reason. The chemistry between the FMC’s innocence and the MMC’s darkness was high-key magnetic. The "Grim Reaper" nickname is honestly so fitting because when they collide, the tension is just deadly.
What to expect:
Dark Mafia Vibes: This isn't a lighthearted romp. It’s gritty, heavy on the loyalty/survival aspect, and Riccardo is genuinely dangerous.
Steam: The explicit scenes are everywhere and the spice level is high. 🥵
World Building: The contrast between the academic world and the aristocratic mafia underground felt really fresh.
If you’re into possessive MMCs who would burn the world down for the FMC (while probably being the ones who started the fire), you need to read this. Just definitely check the triggers first because it gets heavy!
Trope Checklist: ✅ British FMC in NYC ✅ Mafia Kingpin MMC ✅ Forced Proximity / "Worlds Collide" ✅ High Spice / Mature Themes
MMC: Riccardo – Ruthless. Obsessive. The man who owns her fate. FMC: Daisy – Fiery. Strong-willed. The girl who doesn’t remember.
Twelve years ago, MMC saved FMC—but it wasn’t an act of kindness. He took everything from her, erasing her past and molding her future to fit his twisted plans. She was never supposed to know. Never supposed to fight back.
Now, fate throws them together again. FMC doesn’t recognize him, but MMC? He’s never forgotten. He’s been watching, waiting, controlling every move she’s made. Until she defies him. Until she slaps him. Until he decides it’s time to claim what’s his.
Riccardo Ricci! Ah, I'm giggling like a schoolgirl and kicking my feet when I hear his name.
He's soooo good.
For fans of dark romance, this book is a must-read.
It offers a deep dive into the world of the mafia, complete with a powerful anti-hero and a heroine who is struggling to find her place in a world that is as dangerous as it is alluring.
The explicit content and mature themes add to the intensity of the story, making it a thrilling and unforgettable read.
