Werewolf Single Dad #1

Werewolf Single Dad

Rate this book
Life was boring, and it was great.

I was just your normal Beta werewolf with a 9-5 job, a wife waiting at home, and two young kids.

Until, one night, my wife was killed during a territory dispute, and in my anger, I somehow transformed into an Alpha and therefore put a target on mine and my family’s back.

But I have no interest in building a pack right now. I just want to settle down in a new city and be there for my babies.

Even if shifter women have started paying waaaay more attention to me now…

Love of his life… yea right

I was interested at first, the MC was a basic guy just looking out for his family. Forced into a fight and his wife is killed. She was the “love of his life” and he flipped out over it. Completely understandable. Then suddenly he is flirting with every woman he sees, literally less than a day later! Author tried to explain it with “instincts” but he also goes far to show the MC isn’t bound only by his instincts.

Heck his wife was dead for like 2 days and he is already hooking up with a new woman IN THE BACK OF THE FAMILY MINI VAN!!! That immediately made him a full scum bag. So much for the love of his life and mourning.

Couldn't finish

spoiker alert!
Ok so I couldn't finish the book. I got to page 44 and the MC went full on stupid. He killed over 20 wolf's and an alpha single handedly in a matter of minutes. Then he runs from 4 wolf's and 1 alpha...? Even after the were separated them and would be easy to hunt them down one by one, as he already admitted he was far faster than Any of them. He also has tracking on them all at the time. But instead of handling them all he decides running away and letting his enemy live to re group and hunt him instead is the better plan........ How does one even think like that?

This has been 2.5 for me tbh. I like the idea and premise of this story but it's doing a few things I dislike.
It's doing the whole werewolf alpha mate BS where their mating instinct can hardly be controlled. I dislike this trope cause while they may be were"wolves" they are also human so that damn trope is retarded and I hate the author is using this stupid trope to justify this guy ready and wanting to fuck and start a new relationship with some random hot teacher he just met like 24hrs after his wife died. Seriously his pain was so great he morphed from a beta to an alpha but yet....ready to bang others chick 24 hrs later....author must be single and not know much about grief...
Guy clearly has moved on past his wife violent death far too easily and far to philosophically...

Another thing they do is that these alpha's and MC's in general always have to be big adonis like people that the ladies can hardly resist...cause you know pheromones and cause pleasing eye candy...
...oh and lets not forget the big, huge dick thing and the uneducated trope that a big dick can push past the cervix to enter the womb directly....cause you know being an alpha he just has to knot inside to make sure his seed impregnates the female....common authors biology 101 please.... a dick can't enter a cervix and even touching it can be painful for some ladies....the knotting thing doesn't even work like that in real canines...lmao

Please get a clue!

Last thing and its a small gripe which doesn't affect my score either way but gawd damn the artwork on the covers suck..... MC is suppose to be some big adonis looking hunk withw chised jaw etc etc yet the artwork on the cover has him looking like Micheal J Fox in teen wolf (1985) which is a far cry from what's being said in the book...

An absolute treasure!

This book was an absolute riot and loved every second and page of it.
From all the humour and puns, to the well done world building and action packed shifter fights.

And it's also unique seeing a character who is already a father be the main focus, dealing with grief and loss while trying to protect and raise kids was an element that I quite enjoyed!

But there was one part early on, where Mike was talking with his daughter that was emotional and well written, and as much as I'd like to say, I suggest reading this book instead...

It'll be worth your time!
Looking forward to more!

Logan's Most Emotionally Compelling Work Yet!

This book genuinely made my eyes water. The writing of the family dynamic, and specifically Mike's interactions with his daughter, were so very touching. I cannot say more how much I enjoyed this. I don't know how this isn't already one of his best performing works. I'll be honest, the shifter trope as a whole has been losing its appeal to me for a while now. The creativeness of this (hopefully) series has rekindled the appeal. I'll be waiting for the sequel impatiently. Bravo, Logan!

wow! just wow

I could not put this book down and I can’t wait for it to be on audio. WSD is the most fun I’ve had with one of Logan Jacobs books. I am really hoping to see more like this book and How to Hunt Ghosts and get Girls from him. They both are lighter and have less doom and gloom in them, and the MC’s are actually people I would want to go have a few beers with. Good job!

Unique concept

Others have touched on this, but to have a MC more worried about fetching ice cream for his children than playing macho games is something new in this genre. Good side characters help as well. The idea of a MC able to handle mixed race packs isn't as new, but still, the whole cooperation is better than fighting vibe makes this book something to take seriously (or us that not so seriously?).

Awesome read!!

If you want a good read this book is it!!
A good bit fast paced book.
The main character is really going through ruff water!
I won't give anything away.
But he's a dad trying to survive a bad situation with his kids.. The interactions in the story between the characters to me are kinda rushed.
But it also is the writers world we get a glimpse into it...

So if you have the time it's a good read to escape into!!

This book could have been longer, But 5 stars anyway

Could have been longer.
Books 2-? Needs to be longer, Author Jacobs! Longer!
You write just fine, your turnover rate is excellent, your ideas are superb, but sometimes they need to be a bit longer.
Anyway, 5 stars...again. I'd give more but they won't let me.

Fantastic, couldn't put it down

Ended up staying up late, several hours late on a work night because I couldn't put the book down, had to find out what would happen in Mike's life, and how the story would play out. All the changes he's experiencing and all the new emotions. It was a wild ride from start to finish

Good Werewolf story

Good story.
I really liked the MC but I hope he can fully embrace his Alpha status by the next book.
The pace was good except for the latter part of the book which got slow until the final battle against the Jackal.

Either way, looking forward to the next book.

A Must Read!!

Don’t let the title dissuade you on reading this, because it’s an amazing story so far! I love ‘Backyard Dungeon’ and have been looking for a Logan Jacob’s series to top it and this one just might! A really cool concept of supernatural in modern society and I can’t wait for more to come!

Enjoyed it

Nice new series starter. Liked the characters and the world created. The only gripe I had was that it was to fast paced. After what happened at the start, I would think it would have taken longer to deal with the loss.

Fatherhood at its finest

This was honestly one of the most entertaining and endearing reads I've had in a while, the story was heartwarming, action packed, and thoughtful! I cannot wait for the next one!

Now that was fun

Sometimes these slice of life books have too much slice and not enough life. This one had enough slice to make it fun. Wasn't a great epilogue but it was a good one. I'd like to know why all those omegas aren't chasing other alphas?

Great Storytelling

Well written and interesting. A look into the pack life of werewolves and how things can quickly go wrong because of it. Throw in kids, warerats, a government oversight organization and teritorial conflict and you get some great action. Highly recommended!

It works!!!!

Okay, the whole premise of this book had my "This is Stupid" button getting wacked hard. I read the first three chapters and have to say: I WAS WRONG. It works and as a divorced Dad carrying for three kids my other button got pushed and I missed a pack ride to finish the book. I kie the easy escape that the author tends to provide in his stories. This was one of the better ones. Looking forward to the next in the series. Not something I expected to write

Emotional?!

Who would've thought it would tug at the heart strings a bit? The storyline was engaging. I read through it in just a couple days. I just didn't want to put it down. Can't wait to see what the next one is about!

Great start of a new series!

A great new premise, an evolved Alpha from a Beta. A horrible beginning, but then an interesting evolution. Then travel to a new location and start a new life. Will be looking forward to how this new series keeps going.

Very good!

I've been waiting on reading this book because I knew the beginning would be sad (it was). But now that the second book it out, I figured now would be the time. It was a fantastic book, and I look forward to diving right into the next one.

Oh my…Mr. Jacobs

This book tore at my heart strings. I’m a widower of two children myself and the way you describe how Mike becomes one himself…I was in tears sir. It hit home for me…hard. You did very well my friend 😌

While I loved the story, I still find the plot unclear and difficult to follow. I'll have to read the next one before making a decision

Sounds like a joke

Sounds like a joke but as you get into the story it's very entertaining and expands into a whole new world building adventure. Can't wait for book 2.
