I don't think I will ever get over this book. I'll be honest, I read so much that sometimes all the romance books feel so similar and this was SO FREAKING DIFFERENT. The scenes 🥵🥵 will live in my head rent free, forever.
Ramsey is everything and now in my top book boyfriends. Hazel is MEANNNN (in a good way) and I loved every second of it. Like, I aspire to be her type of feistiness moving forward.

Not sure how I got this far.
The premise of an "ex-husband-who-was-not" had me intrigued and excited—it seemed like the perfect setup for hooking me up. But, dear lawd, the execution left so much to be desired.
The fiancé was painfully cringeworthy, and his abrupt exit from the story felt far too convenient.
The female lead’s actions were inconsistent and confusing.
The mystery surrounding the property lacked depth, felt contrived and was entirely predictable.
Last but not least, there was absolutely no chemistry between the main characters.
Such a missed opportunity.
I usually don't rate a book if I haven't finished it, but I also don't usually go that far (70%) before giving up.

The Quiet Horsemen are so addictive! This is the second time I've read Bull Rush and I enjoyed it even more this time. I love Hazel and Ramsey and all their messiness. This was a second chance romance unlike any other. I loved that Ramsey took, or rather, made a second chance for them and didn't give up.
Hazel may think she wants to forget him, but also can only fight so much. Her soul knows he's the one for her and it's just going to take a little convincing. Luckily, Ramsey knows what she needs. And he gives it to her, real good. Haha!
This time I listened to the audio book and it was duet narrated by Aidan Snow and Elena Wolfe. It was hot hot hot! It was singing my ears in the best ways. I highly recommend the audio book for a thrilling experience.

WAIT A DAMN MINUTE!!! This book was fucking incredible. There’s a new cowboy in town and this one is a cocky NFL player that screams BDE and has the best one liners oh and he’s hell bent on getting his wife back 🤭
Ramsey goes to prison for a few months and when he gets out, he finds out that he’s still legally married to his ex Hazel. So he moves back to his family ranch (that his wife runs) because his parole officer suggests stability is best for him after getting out of jail. Only to find out that his wife is engaged. So obviously Ramsey’s only option is to make a deal with his wife to play house with him for 90 days. Fiancé’s gotta go bye-bye and he’ll give her $1 million( which she seriously needs because the family ranch is underwater financial)
Of course Hazel takes the deal because who the fuck would turn down their gorgeous 6 foot five tattooed husband ?? like baby, I’m doing that shit for free😂
The way that these two torture each other was everything this book was so fucking hot, and so many scenes will be living rent-free in my brain🥵 Ramsey is the definition of possessive, there was so many “my wife” moments, and he had me on my knees!! Hazel was really that girl, the way she pushed his buttons she knew exactly where to poke. The connection and chemistry these two had was undeniable. There was just such a pull towards each other. They fell right into a comfortable flirty relationship. It was so nice to see them Skip all the awkward stuff and just flow together. Because that’s what happens when you’re meant to be together.
I love books that pull emotion out of me and while this one was so spicy and had such good banter, there was plenty of moments that had me choked up. I actually cried a lot. Ramsey and Hazel‘s relationship is just so deep and there’s so much pain between them and I could fucking feel it. Two stubborn people who just lost their way who loved each other so hard but made some mistakes. When I tell you these two ride so fucking hard for each other even when they weren’t together and even more so when they are. Actual soulmates🥹💓🤞🏼
There’s just something about a second chance romance that is just so endearing like these people know each other inside and out because they have already fallen in love and there’s just so something so special about that,and getting to witness them reconnect is such an emotionally fulfilling journey.
This was a perfect book in my opinion, I used probably 500 tabs because every part was a good part. This book had some of the best quotes and one liners, incredible jaw dropping foaming at the mouth spice so much emotional depth, and a really good fucking
story behind that all. A STANDING OVATION 👏🏻

i realized while reading this book that i couldn’t remember anything about the MMC from the previous book in this series, so i went back for a refresher… what a mistake 😓 it included a graphic sex scene of the MMC with one of his many “friends.” i get it, he was single during that time, blah blah, but it still ruined his character for me. there was just somethin about reading about the MMC having rough outdoor sex with another woman that made me completely lose interest in his “desperation” to stay married to his wife (the FMC in this book) 🫠

When Maggie announced that Ramsey was getting a book, I WAS SOOO EXCITED, and it did not disappoint. I think this is by far my favorite by Maggie so far. Maggie is in her dark era and I am soo here for it!
Bull Rush follows Ramsey & Hazel Stockton where they both find out that their divorce was never actually finalized. Ramsey is back on his family’s ranch while on parole and he wants one thing. He wants his wife back. He is going to do whatever it takes to get her back. However, he learns that she is now engaged. Hazel wants him to sign the papers so they both can get on with their lives, but Ramsey will only sign them on one condition. 90 days of her being HIS WIFE and then he will give her everything she wanted.
RAMSEY IS PERFRECTION!! If you know me, I love me a tortured soul and Ramsey fits it perfectly. I think he is my favorite MMC written by Maggie so far. I couldn’t put this down. Hazel was a hard shell to crack, she made her ex WORK FOR IT and HE DID. She stayed true to herself and wasn’t going have her heart broken again. BUT BUT once she gave in. I WAS UNWELL. The mouth on Ramsey. I was overheating. I highlighted so many scenes in this book that will 100% live in my mind RENT FREE.
If Maggie writes it, I will DEVOUR IT. They have my heart, and I can’t stop thinking about them. The spice. The plot. It was everything I needed and more.

“It was nobody’s fault they got divorced” it was his fault!! 100% his fault!! He abandoned her while still loving her, he walked away. And the has the nerve to be jealous when she gets engaged years later?
Also the piercing on his dick with his wedding band… he screwed other women with his wedding ring?! WTF— I’d be furious! He did not deserve her.
Also Ramsey wanting to claim back his ranch is such a dick move. No— you don’t get to abandon your land while your wife takes on 100% of the responsibility for it for YEARS, not gaf about it whatsoever, or her, and then waltz back in because your name is on the land and stake claim.
Not to mention he isn’t greatful once for her keeping his land going, keeping his bike and horse, running his buisness— nothing. Then he has the nerve to question the security of the buisness and how she needs to be more careful as if he has any right to critique what she’s done for him.

Wow idk even know where to begin. I assume the author felt the same way because she stuffed every single trope she could possibly imagine into this book just to see what would stick. And then she decided to just keep all of them. This was a “dark” cowboy romance but…was the dark in the room with us? Ramsey was a 6’5” tatted cowboy who’s also a professional football player who just got out of prison for murder. Like okay.
Anyways the only reason I finished this was because my friend said they have s*x in front of her fiancé and I just had to read that LMAO. I really wanted to love this because so many people are obsessed but this book was absolutely ridiculous.

You know every time I read a book, there is always a scene that will live rent free in my brain. But I have never had an ENTIRE book live rent free until Bull Rush. And I am so excited Maggie decided to step out of sports romance to deliver this banger! If I could give this infinite stars I would! I loved everything about this book so let's talk about my favorite parts!
First things, I love Ramsey! I loved him in the Queen City series and I needed his book after Mine to Gain and this book lived up to all of my expectations and more! In fact I NEED and WANT more! Ramsey has quite the history that you learn about in this book. He is slightly tortured and pining of his ex-wife. And when he found out his ex-wife is actually still very much his wife, he decided to go after what he wanted in a VERY Ramsey fashion and it made me feral.
Now Hazel, I loved her! She was such a spitfire! She's also slightly tortured and was left heartbroken after Ramsey left for the NFL. Now when she found out she was in fact still very much married but engaged to a different man, she had a very different reaction to Ramsey being back into her life. And boy did she make him work for it. She has such a fun personality. The fact that they tried to get even with each other was my favorite part.
I loved the plot of this book. It was a plot that I have never read before and it had me hooked from the beginning. If you read Mine to Gain, you know Ramsey was accused of murder and he is back in his hometown to serve out the rest of his parole where his mission is to win back his wife. But he bribes her with a contract of sorts that will grant her a divorce but let's face it, he has no intention in divorcing Hazel. Not only was the plot suspenseful with a touch of dark elements, it will keep you turning the page to see what will happen next. Now the spice, is on a while other level. Each scene will live rent free. It was so different then anything I have ever read and it had me gasping with my jaw on the floor. Like I'm gagged and in a chokehold.
So yeah, I give this book ALL of the stars and it is a TOP READ of the year for me. Absolutely loved it and I know she set this book up to be the beginning of a new series. And all I am going to say is I am excited for more of this world in the future! Maggie, you out did yourself on this one and I am so glad you step out of your sports romance bubble to deliver this masterpiece!

LIKES: This was my first cowboy-ish dark romance book I've ever read, and I definitely enjoyed it! Ramsey's filthy mouth and dominant personality had me eagerly turning pages until way past midnight lol. Hazel didn't make the list of my favorite FMCs, but I did like her determination to handle things on her own and not take shit from anyone. The two of them together make a fiery and addicting couple!
DISLIKES: The plot was pretty interesting and mysterious, but what got me is that, for a good portion of the book, I was questioning if I started in the middle of a series instead of this being the first one. There were mentions of how Ramsey left Hazel years before and that Ramsey's parents were murdered, but it's written in a way that made me feel like I was missing information from another book, only to be partially answered (assumingly to be continued in the series) or just kind of brushed over quickly. But I'm still intrigued to see what happens next!

It's here!! It's here! Omg it's here. "Maggie After Dark" is here!!! It's here in the form of "Bull Rush" and I am sooooo here for all of it! Maggie has finally entered her MAD Era! Move over Taylor, this is the new Eras tour. Maggie has finally dipped her toe into the dark side - at least dark for Maggie - and I feel like we need to just dub this correctly: This IS "Maggie After Dark". And I need all the MAD merch!
So let me back myself up a bit, because I don't want to mislead anyone: this is not like a dark-dark romance. There are so many really, really dark books out there - the scale goes from marginally grey to the darkest of dark, and I don't want folks to think that I'm implying that this is some dark black hole of debauchery and alpha, chauvinistic jerks who are probably a part of some Bratva or mafia or crime organization. This isn't that. Butttttt this certainly has very dark undertones and it has an indecent proposal, questionable morals, scandal, "whodunnit", mixed in with a give-and-take of the MMC and MFC and their *ehem* smexy times (fan me off, please), as well as about a dozen other undertones - and overtones. (Is overtones a word even? ... I just mean there's more underneath the surface as well as on top of the surface). And all of this is wrapped up in the typical Maggie Rawdon way with her amazing writing. Sign me up, right?!?! My sentiments exactly.
So Maggie left us in her last series with a glimpse into Ramsay and those snapshots were all so very delicious. We craveddddd to know more about him. So what does Maggie do? She departs the sports world and drops us smack-dab-in-the-middle of cowboy country! That's right, this has a bit of the cowboy trope. *drool* Maggie's just like "you're welcome!" And before continuing, let me say that this book can totally be read as a standalone but for those who've read the previous series, it's so enjoyable knowing the tidbits and easter eggs of the past that are revealed throughout the story. (Maybe I was specifically screaming at the end when Madison and Bea got their dream... agh, I can't say more! But omg I flipped over this scene!!!!) So back to cowboy country: Ramsay in Wranglers and riding a horse??? Giiiiiirl, sign me up! Just give me all the ranch and horse and cowboy things - all damn day long!!!!
For fear of giving things away, I'm trying to tread so carefully right now and it's soooo hard! The morally grey start of this mixed with the indecent proposal - oh man!!! The premise of this book has us scratching our heads and questioning our own morals - like.... am I really here for all of that? Would "I" ever consider... with my ex-husband... but he's technically still my... and we have unresolved issues... and he's looking better than ever... and I just want to torture him a little bit while getting some revenge and getting what I need out of the deal... I mean, what could possibly go wrong with that? Am I right? .... well, that's what Maggie thought when she put this one together. With that premise in place, what unfolds next will have the reader on the edge of their seat with suspense, angst, smoldering heat that will have you uncomfortably rubbing your thighs together while squirming in your seat, then yelling at the book at two characters in particular right before you chuck that son of a gun right across the room, right before gasping for air when it all begins to come together. I know, I know - there's a lot here.
So buckle up boys and girls, you're about to go on one hell of a ride. Just, a word of advice, prepare yourself. Have reinforcements and refreshments ready, you're not going to want to put this one down. Put the cold compress around your neck to keep you cool because those spicy scenes? Ohhh girl, they be a spicin'! And you'll want something to chew on besides your nails because the suspense will otherwise have you chewing those suckers down to the cuticle. Mine might still be recovering... just maybe. And I'm quite frankly also in recovery because this one put me through the wringer - at times I didn't know if I was coming or going. I wasn't sure where Maggie was taking us, but she can lead me blind and in the dark, I trust her implicitly. And my blind faith in her with her MAD venture was so rewarding because.... dayum! This is the easiest five stars! Just... just, go read it!!! And do it NOW!

This book was such a sad shame, I was so excited to read it cause the blurb made it sounds exciting. But it didn’t live up to it. I felt like it was missing a lot of things. There were multiple times were they were going to talk but stopped and just moved on. I felt like I didn’t get closure from a lot of stuff. Also I feel like he should’ve groveled more. There’s this tone that the divorce was no one’s fault. It’s his, he left, he abandoned her! They had a life and he ditched it. Also Maggie has this thing where her MMC’s are either absolute Man H0es or Can manage celibacy pretty well. This guy was neither which pissed me off! Because he supposedly never stopped loving her and all the usual stuff that comes with that. But he still had the occasional fuck buddy. I felt like by the end he didn’t earn her. But there was conflict and boom suddenly problems where gone (kinda). The only really sweet thing he did was learning to dance for her cause she likes it and that barley feels like anything considering this was a 400+ page book. I liked the drama and the banter, but ultimately I’m greatly disappointed. Maggie’s books are usually hit or miss I’ll either love them or hate them. So I guess this says something by being in the middle. The guy had such potential and I’m sad it was wasted.

This book was so much fun!!! It had me hooked straight away, and I am now obsessed with maggies writing and am in need of her whole backlist.😅
This is a dark second chance, divorce of convenience between Hazel and Ramsey, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't obsessed.
Somehow, Ramsey wins us over nearly straight away even with his cocky attitude. His love for Hazel was so strong and honestly beautiful to read.
Hazel had such a strong attitude, and let me tell you, I am here for it. She never backed down from a fight or conflict and always stood her ground. If you are looking for a strong mc, Hazel is definitely one.
The tension between the two was amazing! The way these two were able to sort out their problems and grow was nice to see as well.
I highly recommend this!

I really enjoyed this. I have never read anything like it. I wish it had been edited and cleaned up a little more, as some elements and characters in the plot were confused at points. But I adored Hazel and Ramsey; they're the perfect morally grey couple that are hot, passionate, and witty. I absolutely enjoyed their history together.

Bull Rush was so deliciously addictive and bingeable. Maggie Rawdon takes a triumphant step into dark western, AND I AM HERE FOR IT. The alluring premise, the drama, the epic tension, the epic spice, and most of all the magnetic and fiery characters- I was transfixed by Ramsey and Hazel’s complicated second chance. It’s edgy, it’s sexy, it’s a little unhinged, and like all Maggie Rawdon books, it’s got all the FEELS.
Oh we’ve been waiting for the mysterious Ramsey. And Maggie does not disappoint. Ramsey and Hazel are fire- SUPPOSED to be exes somehow “still married” now living a lie, staying married to benefit them both. Ramsey has wonderful sharp edges and a tortured soul, but he also LONGS for his wife in the most heartstopping way. He’s practically feral for her- so we KNOW he’s going to go hard during this stay married farce, even if she’s engaged to another. And Hazel is full of sass and steel, but she’s also got a beautiful heart….but she’s not going to make this easy on Ramsey. She’s marrying another…AND Ramsey tore her heart out. GAH so much push and pull, the banter, the tension murky and hot between them. And Ramsey- LAWDY someone ran me. Morally gray hero with all the dirty talk and unapologetic about going after what he wants. Heart and panty melting.
Paired with some dark suspense and plenty of drama, it’s page turning DELICIOUSNESS. Bull Rush is a wild ride (and no, I’m not just talking about Ramsey)- and I loved immersing myself in this new Maggie era.
Update with Audio Review (Re-read/first listen): I loved this book when I first discovered this world, and HOLY SMOKES DID I FLOVE the audio! My phone was practically MELING from the delicious goodness of this audio production. Duet narration, perfectly cast, and fantastic vocal chemistry between Aiden Snow and Elena Wolfe is fantastic.
Aiden Snow is sinfully delicious as our dirty talking cowboy Ramsey. His gritty deep tone brought all of Ramsey’s broody edge to life effortlessly. I didn’t think I could love Ramsey more- until Aiden brought him to life. Holy smokes. And Elena is equally fantastic as Hazel. She has all of the feisty charm of Hazel in her performance, but she also brings to life the emotional vulnerability and heart that I love about Hazel too. The tension and heat felt even more palpable in the audio performance, and I can not wait for the rest of the series to come to the audio format next!

Не сподобалась лінія відносин Гейзел з Кертісом. Якось мало прописано. А останні 20% у мене був суцільний фейспалм від твістів сюжету. Так смішно, що Гейзел згадувала тоді свої стосунки з Кертісом, бо в інші 80% книги вона забула про нього.
Ну таке...
Але взаємодія Гейзел та Рамзі сподобалась. Гаряча така взаємодія. Хімія між ними запальна.
Є також пара гачків на наступні пари. Ґарет та Дакота зацікавили

I honestly didn’t think that I could love this book more, but OH MY SWEATY GOODNESS. Aiden Snow is literal perfection as Ramsey. He embodies all the broody sexiness that Ramsey portrays and Elena is everything and more as Hazel. The chemistry. The attraction. The PIPING. The TENSION. It’s all there and in full swing with these two.
Told in duet narration, I felt like I was there talking to these characters. I highly recommend this audiobook!

Ramsey is about to be paroled from jail and needs to settle for a bit before he can go back to, hopefully, playing football again. And during the parole process, he finds out that his divorce from years ago never actually went through. So he is still married to the one woman that has always been his true love. So now he is being given a second chance to write his wrongs.
The problem? She engaged to be married and absolutely hates Ramsey and how he left year five years ago.
I loved both of these characters so much - I admire the strength that Hazel has had to have other the years to keep her life afloat. And Ramsey is such a growly teddy bear so has been on the wrong side of luck throughout his life.
The character depth that Maggie gives us for these two characters is fantastic. Both Hazel and Ramsey have been through hell and back, both together and apart. Their hate to love relationship in this book had me laughing out loud at their banter to shedding some tears at the emotions that it was pulling out of me.
There are so many moving parts and I can’t wait to see which way this series heads next!

I was borderline negligent with my children while reading this book because I couldn’t put the damn thing down.
Seriously.
I am officially in my dark romance era and Maggie freakin delivered with this one!

HOLY F!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT DID I JUST READ!!! This has become by far my favorite Maggie book. Maggie you deserve all the stars, all the foreheads kisses bc this book was absolute perfection and I will never be over it. Who knew that I needed a dark cowboy romance with a divorce of inconvenience in my life.
I don’t want to spoil anything so I will keep this vague and short. This book had my dropping my jaw several times while reading. No one does spice like Maggie IMO and literally does not know how she comes up with some of these things but I am so glad she does. Ramsey is definitely one of the hottest and dirtiest MMCs I have ever read so therefore he is my favorite Maggie man to date. Sorry Tobias…but LIKE HOLY HELL!!! That spit scene he has…IYKYK like WTF was that so hot!!!!!
This one is so different than anything I have ever read from Maggie before and I am not upset in the slightest about it. She takes you on a wild ride and you will enjoy every second of it. There is Suspense, darkness, humor, revenge, spice, emotions, forgiveness…and it all comes together perfectly.
I highly recommend this one and going into as blind as you can. I cannot wait to see where Maggie takes this series and I am already salivating at the mouth for more. Thank you to Maggie and Wordsmith for the eARC.

Ramsey is definitely one of the hottest and dirtiest MMCs I have ever read so therefore he is my favorite Maggie man to date. Sorry Tobias…but LIKE HOLY HELL!!! That spit scene he has…IYKYK like WTF was that so hot!!!!!
This one is so different than anything I have ever read from Maggie before and I am not upset in the slightest about it. She takes you on a wild ride and you will enjoy every second of it. There is Suspense, darkness, humor, revenge, spice, emotions, forgiveness…and it all comes together perfectly.
I highly recommend this one and going into as blind as you can. I cannot wait to see where Maggie takes this series and I am already salivating at the mouth for more. Thank you to Maggie and Wordsmith for the eARC.

Але авторка в ударі з сексуальними сценами
Тільки мене що бісило, що гг типу заручена, але куралєсить і вдає з себе якусь неприступну
З кожною сторінкою я хотіла читати тільки того, що було цікаво, а що ще вона (автор) придумає
Дивно, шо це дарк рахується
Бо вбивство посереднє, якось не наштовхнуло мене віднести цю книгу в цю категорію
Ну і цікаво, в що вʼязався батько Рамзі…
