The Dark Triad #3

The Reaper's Vice

Rate this book
There’s a masked killer on the loose, and he’s obsessed with one thing—breaking her.

Seraphina Valez has lived through harrowing times, but nothing could have prepared her for Orion Adair. Not his looks. Or his charm. And certainly not the vicious beast lurking beneath his skin.

But Seraphina has a backbone, and she’ll need it to protect her heart from her scarred and tattooed kidnapper. Especially when being bound and at his mercy starts to seem like a good thing...

~

Orion Adair has never wanted anything more than Seraphina. Not even getting out of prison for a lifetime sentence.

Putting on a plague mask and chasing her through the woods isn't enough to win this woman’s heart. He’s going to have to change his ways and step into the role of protector. Especially when the mysterious organization she’s been hiding from for ten years comes to collect her.

Little do they know, Seraphina already belongs to him. Anyone who touches her will pay the ultimate price.

The most unhinged book I have read this year, in a twisted and dark psychotic way.
I knew both Orion and Seraphina were unhinged and quite eccentric, but this?
Yep much more than I expected.
These 2 are made for each other, in all their weird ways. Don't judge them and don't read this book if you will, because they are.... not your typical MCs.

The plot twist? Holy hell. Couldn't have seen that coming!

I am so happy about the conclusion of the story and the epilogue was everything!

The only reason this isn't getting more stars is because it was a tiny bit messy for me, but that's because the MCs are messy and you need to keep up with them. So as much as I love them, I couldn't follow through on all their internal ideations. But these were definitely on point for them.

Well done Mindy, and thank you thank you thank you for Sloane and Ghost.

I have received an ARC and I am greedily sharing Orion and Seraphina with you...

A fantastic finish to the series! I’ve been waiting for Seraphina and Orion’s story since I read the Phantom’s vice and Mindy didn’t disappoint.

Seraphina is such a strong fmc, she’s gone through so much and still comes out strong. Orion’s obsession is everything, the way he worms his way into her life, the tension between the two, all of it is great!

I also really enjoyed the flashes we got to see of the characters from the previous books and how they’re doing.

What in the actual f_ck?!
That’s the best way to summarize this dark, depraved, and utterly deranged rollercoaster of a book. If you’re here for toxic relationships, morally gray characters, blood-soaked vengeance, and an “I shouldn’t like this, but I can’t stop reading” vibe, this story delivers all that and more.

At the center of this madness are Orion, the unhinged, obsessive killer and Seraphina, the feisty yet deeply traumatized survivor with a haunting past.
Their chemistry is nothing short of explosive—sometimes literally. Together, they navigate a twisted world of secret societies, childhood trauma, murder, and carnal obsession.
The spice is more 🚩 than 🌶️.

My only regret is that I didn’t read the first two books. This book is a standalone but the interconnected world is important in the background story.

So Proceed with caution—and maybe some therapy on standby.

Tropes:
Completely unhinged MMC
Stalker
Feisty FMC

Kidnapping

Content Warnings

I had the privilege of receiving this book as an arc and this is my honest review.

✨️Review:
I could not wait to read this conclusion to the Dark Triad series! I was just as consumed as I knew I would be. And it feels rather like events come full circle in the end to this rapturous series.

Orion is unhinged, obsessive and k1nky but has such a wicked sense of humor about him. At his core he has quite the tender heart (for Seraphina especially). And his little dove is an incredibly ballsy and strong heroine, with pains she's not even fully aware of, with desires that Orion unlocks.

Later, we are thrust into a whirlwind of deepening revelations for Seraphina. This story is just as much about her as it is Orion. At times brutal, passionately twisted, and pulse pounding, we get all the goods here!

As always, it's Mindy's uncanny ability to reach deep within a character's state of mind and encapsulate it for us with frightening truth and raw emotion. They are laid bare for us with no holds barred, this includes wonderfully abstract reality cloudy mental states, tr@uma aftermath and pure reactionary rage. These characters much like others in this trilogy, have all been subject to horrors of some kind, physically/emotionally/mentally, and I truly applaud how their journeys are expressed so unabashadly and how each story is so uniquely them!

But we still have moments of humor, of grace, of the stripped away truth of the human condition and spirit that perseveres. It's an intense story to be sure, but incredibly rewarding, exciting, heartbreaking, healing and visceral (just as The Phantom’s Vice was in particular for me.... Ghost is still my all time fave👻 ). Oceans of thanks that Ghost, Brett and Sloan make several appearances because I was lit up like a firecracker when he came back!

The richness of this world and the characters inhabiting it are intoxicating. The depth of emotions are exhumed from the darkest of places but then we are rewarded with such intense connections to these beloved characters. This was a worthy ending (though I don't want it to🥲) and I highly recommend this for for dark romance lovers..but you'll get more out of it if you read The Phantom’s Vice first (trust me darling...you want to). Ghost will be immensely pleased if you do 👻

“i will love you more tomorrow than i do today. i will love you more every day until my death. and then… i will love you from the never. i will love you when i am nothing more than food for worms, when my skin and bones dissolve, and my brains turn to mush. my soul is irrevocably tied to yours now, and i… nothing could have ever made me so happy. nothing ever will.”

this book combined the best of book 1 and 2 into the rightful ending for the trilogy. once again, the author wasn't shy when it came to darkness, tension, love. the stakes were higher, the mmc more unhinged, the fmc more crazy. if there's one thing about these books is that the characters are so intrinsically and organically made for each other, they complement each other in a way that one could not exist without the other because they're halves of a whole. but as much as the love story was a pivotal point to the story, the bigger picture, the overarching plot of the series was concluded in such an unpredictable yet satisfactory way. i'm still gagged over those big plot twists, even though i saw them coming.

* i was sent an arc by the author in exchange for a honest review

Simply put, this book is incredible. Do yourself a favor and read it now. Don’t just put it on your TBR, because who knows when you’ll finally get to it. You’ll get shocking twists, a well thought out and unpredictable story line, excellent writing, delicious spice, and characters with depth and complexity. There’s also a OTT/JP masked MC and a badass FMC that doesn’t always have to be strong. She has gone through a lot of trauma and has her moments, but she’s also a force to be reckoned with. I love to see that dichotomy. It’s so relatable. This is the third book in a series, and I do recommend you at least read the second book, The Phantom’s Vice, to ensure a better reading experience. Also, you don’t want to miss the other books in the series anyway. No doubt, Mindy Paige will be one of your new favorite authors.

Ahh this was perfect! This trilogy comes to end but a such an amazing way to go out with Orion & Seraphina story!

Orion is obsessed and unhinged, but also caring and lovable. The love he shows her is something you would want even if he k☠️☠️☠️s for her 😉 Seraphina (his little dove) is such a firecracker and so strong. She deals with so much pain from her past and to see what she goes through is heartbreaking to hear about. Orion was there for her and took care of her when she needed him to.

The plot that comes within this story is absolutely twisted and I absolutely loved every second even if it did make me tear up at times. I really enjoyed seeing Ghost, Brett and their daughter Sloane throughout the book. I love the humor that is associated with Orion and Ghost.

This is very dark and has heavy topics so please read your trigger warnings!

“You are mine, little dove. Your flesh is mine; your touch is mine. Your thoughts, your breath, your existence—all of it belongs to me.”

“If you never do, then I will be here. If you always feel this way, then I’ll be your strength. I’ll fight the battles. I’ll be your loyal soldier. And if you need someone to hold some of that weight you’ve been living with, I can hold some of that, too.”

THE PERFECT ENDING TO THIS TRIAD!

Oooooweee this was delicious. I was so excited for Orion’s book after finishing the phantoms vice, and Mindy did not disappoint. We had more of her unique humor, MMCs that are obsessed with their women, and so many dark twists and turns.

🐦‍⬛ Stalker
🐦‍⬛ Feisty FMC
🐦‍⬛ Touch her & 💀
🐦‍⬛ Secret Society
🐦‍⬛ Captor & Captive
🐦‍⬛ Unusual animal sidekicks
🐦‍⬛ Pierced MMC 🍆

Mindy Paige’s writing is so incredibly captivating and I was hooked from the beginning of this book and didn’t want to put this down. There are incredibly dark parts which are made lighter with Orion’s goofy personality, so much growth from both of the main characters, and swooning with the way they take care of each other.

This is part of a triad, but the author did include spoiler summaries at the beginning if you wish to read this as a standalone.

I highly recommend this dark romance series to anyone who likes the listed tropes!

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ The spice is absolutely amazing. So unique and true to the nature of the characters and the story. (beedeesem, comes in his pants, chastity belt, group scenes, org**m denial, he crawls to her, finger licking good, br33ding k!nk, he cleans up his mess 👅, he likes to eat, somno, 🍑 stuff, toys, c*m play, electric play, bl🩸🩸d play)

⚠️ This is a dark romance with lots of dark themes. Check TW before reading ( drug use, physical & emotional abuse, child abuse and neglect, extreme violence, suicide, grief, stalking, murder, trafficking of minors - not by MCs)

Mindy has written another man that I fell in love with. I’ve been waiting for Orion’s story since the ending of Ghost’s book. He was an amazing side character and from him going to a side character to the main you see how much he’s truly gone through. I could not put this book down and when I finished it the book took a piece of my soul. This is probably my favorite book from this series sorry ghost. Orion will forever be my fav MMC he gives golden retriever energy with a bit of unhinged energy. His obsession with Seraphina had me giggling and kicking my feet. This man will do anything to get her. Seraphina is so strong being in her POV you see everything that’s going on and what’s she’s battling. I loved her so much!! She also unhinged asf especially when it comes to people she cares about. This book brought me to tears more than once. Each time the characters were hurting I was hurting with them. Mindy somehow is able to do this with her writing. And god the twists that she throws at you , you’ll never see them coming. I’m sad that this is the last book to the series but my god was this the perfect ending to this series. I loved all 3 of the obsessive, protective, masked men in this series.

My thoughts: Oh Mindy does it again! It's official: I love anything & everything that she writes! I really hope this is not the last book from this series just because I'm obsessed with these dark raw and emotional characters! Orion (MMC) struggles and feels SO much, I just want to hug him and protect him all while Seraphina (FMC) is a force to be recon with and I wanna be her bff lol this book was heart breaking and jaw dropping to a level I was prepared for! The twists, the action packaged scenes, the drama, the desire and lust, the family bonds and above all: the LOVE that bleeds from this story just filled my heart and left its mark. ''Amazing'' doesn't even cover it...

The last stop in The Dark Triad Series and it was just as unhinged (in the best way) as the others. Maybe a little more? This book is dark, just like the rest of the series, so check the trigger warnings

With the ending of the Phantoms Vice I knew this one was going to be a smash. Orion is completely nutty, kinky, recently "released" from prison and is obsessed with Seraphina. Seraphina grew up to be a Madam, able to kill without thinking about it, but is hiding away and has endured so much in her life that she literally trusts no one. They are both tough and push each other so much in the book that it's quite...sweet?
I love how the book comes full circle with Kain, Ghost, Lilith, and Brett making plenty of cameos.

This is book 3 in the series, I would suggest reading the Devil's Vice and Phantom's Vice first before this one. Especially Phantom's vice because you get more of Orion's background.

From the start of this book, I had felt like there was something missing. The characters are written very well. Their personalities are strong but it felt like they were not used to their full potential. That maybe this book should’ve taken longer to develop and write. However, after the plot twist, I started to enjoy the story much more. It picked up quite a bit from there. This is my least fav in this series but I do not regret reading it for a second. I think Mindy Paige is meant to write dark romance. The Ghost and Brett appearances throughout made me so happy.

Thank you to Mindy Paige for sending me an early copy of this book! <3

Star: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25

The Reaper’s Vice by Mindy Paige is a dark, gripping, and utterly captivating romance that pushes boundaries while exploring obsession, redemption, and the fine line between love and danger. With a masked killer, a resilient heroine, and a relentless journey of survival and desire, this book delivers a high-stakes emotional rollercoaster.

Seraphina Valez is a heroine with grit and fire, thrust into a harrowing situation when she crosses paths with Orion Adair—a scarred, tattooed, and dangerously magnetic man who is both her captor and her protector. From the moment Orion steps into Seraphina’s life, their dynamic is electric. He’s unrelenting in his pursuit, his actions as dark as the plague mask he wears, yet beneath his ruthless exterior lies a man determined to shield Seraphina from the danger stalking her.

The chemistry between Seraphina and Orion is palpable, a heady mix of tension, fear, and undeniable attraction. Mindy Paige masterfully captures their evolving relationship, balancing their dark, twisted connection with moments of raw vulnerability and unexpected tenderness. As Seraphina fights to protect her heart, Orion wrestles with his own demons, transforming from a feared predator to a man desperate to prove he’s more than his past.

The plot is fast-paced, layered with suspense as Seraphina’s past catches up with her. The mysterious organisation hunting her adds an extra layer of tension, forcing Orion to take on the role of protector in a way that feels both dangerous and deeply personal. The stakes are high, and every twist and turn keeps you on the edge of your seat.

The Reaper’s Vice isn’t for the faint of heart, but for readers who enjoy dark romance with complex characters, intense emotions, and a blend of danger and passion, it’s a must-read. Mindy Paige doesn’t just tell a story—she drags you into her world, leaving you breathless and eager for more.

Thank you The Author Agency for sending me this ARC!

The Reaper’s Vice is a Dark Romance and the 3rd book in a Dark Triad series of interconnected standalones . This book was really dark and full of morally gray characters with tragic backstories and a beautiful romance with spicy scenes that had me blushing, I really loved Orion and Seraphina’s story!

After escaping from a prison, Orion meets Seraphina at a bar and becomes instantly obsessed with her, but what he doesn’t know is that she is connected to the organization that he thought he and his friend had taken down years ago. Playing a dangerous game with Seraphina, they both become more and more infatuated with each other and they must decide what they are willing to do for each other when their pasts catch up with them.

I was dying to know what happens with Orion and Seraphina after finishing Brett and Ghost’s book and the author definitely didn’t disappoint. This book takes place 10 years after the events of Phantom’s Vice and I was hooked since the first page, there was so much happening and I finally got answers to some questions I had from the previous book. Orion and Seraphina are the definition of tortured characters, what they went through (especially Seraphina) was tragic and they were both so strong, my heart was breaking for them at times, but they were everything I hoped for and more. I loved their relationship, they were exactly what the other one needed and it was amazing to see them open up to and help each other, they were so perfect together and the author really outdid herself with the spicy scenes, they were *chief’s kiss* and I was literally blushing at times. I also loved seeing all the familiar faces from previous books, they all made such a beautiful found family and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a next generation series because Hadrian and Sloane are everything and I need them to have their own book.

The Reaper’s Vice is an amazing dark romance book and a perfect conclusion to this series, it has everything I love in a dark romance genre, I absolutely loved it and already can’t wait for this author’s next book.

WOW. Once again I was INSTANTLY hooked, and I mean instantly! From the very first page, recapping where we were, I was obsessed.

This is the third book in The Dark Triad series. They are interconnected but if you haven’t read books 1&2, you can still read The Reapers Vice. At the beginning there is a nice little summary of what happened in the previous books. However, there is spoilers spoilers. The Reapers Vice takes place 10 years after the Phantoms Vice

This really tied everything together that I was left wondering after the Phantoms Vice. I’m so happy that we got to see bits of characters from books 1&2 and that there were more animal sidekicks. Orion and Seraphina’s chemistry is wild, the way they’re able to connect over their past traumas and bring out their true selves was perfect! I LOVED Orion and couldn’t wait for this book at the end of The Phantom’s Vice! He is completely unhinged (in the best way) but also so sweet. He has a wicked sense of humor and is totally obsessed with Seraphina, his little Dove. Seraphina was an amazing FMC, she is fierce, dealing with a pain that she didn’t even fully realize and unlocked hidden desires with the help of Orion. Although this book does deal with many dark themes, the way that Mindy can slip in humour and make you feel like you’re right there with all the characters, make it such an amazing read!

After escaping from prison, Orion meets Seraphina at a bar and has an instant connection with her. As soon as he lays eyes on her, he is obsessed. He doesn’t realize that technically they’ve met already and she is/was an integral part of the world he thought he had previously assisted in taking down.

I so hope that we get more of these characters and loved getting to see Ghost, Brett and Sloan several times! Full of twists, spice, excitement and absolutely unhinged characters, dark romance lovers will truely enjoy this!

Mindy writes very dark romance and I have loved and devoured the first two. These dark morally grey MMC are protective, Possessive, obsessive, jealous and Touch her and be unalived with their FMC.
This is Orion's story. It's 10 years after the 2nd book, where we were left with our mouth wide open. Orion was always the life of the party, the joker etc. It was so sad to see that young man is not their anymore. He is just as vigilant and ruthless as Ghost. After escaping prison he meets his The One and is prepared to burn it all down to get her.
Seraphina is the Madam in waiting. She is just as broken as Orion. She doesn't remember much from 10 years ago, she only has nightmares that don't make sense to her. The things she and her found sister went through because of the Sanctum was horrific. Do only read if your OK with very dark romance. It is utterly soul crushing, reading their torture.
Seraphina is just trying to survive and earning in a way that allows her to be there for her sister and best friend Maggie.
I will say there was couple of smex scenes where FMC is sleeping with other men. Even if she wasn't with MMC, I don't like reading it described on page. That was why I couldn't give it 5 ⭐.
There was a lot twists and shocking revelations. I also cried so much in one of the chapters.
Which reminds me to say check triggers because this specific chapter is absolutely heartbreaking. As is other parts of the book.
I loved seeing Ghost with his little family and how he is still the same possessive man. I loved Sloane and wish we had more of her in the story.
Will Seraphina remember what happened? Will she be able to destroy the Sanctum and their orders? How will Orion get his girl? Also how long before he gets caught?
This Trilogy was absolutely fantastic for dark Spicy romance lovers.

"You’re perfect in the morning, Seraphina.” His throat bobs as he reaches out, grabbing my hips and yanking me toward him. “Alluring in the afternoon, intoxicating in the evening.” His breath is hot against my neck as his voice skitters across my skin. “And in the night… in the night, you’re addicting.”

A spicy, action-packed, dark but satisfying conclusion to the Dark Triad series!

Plot: 4📍
Spice: 3.5❤️‍🔥
Overall: 4.5⭐
Laughter: 3 🤣

Seraphina is such a beautiful, broken, sympathetic character and Orion's absolute dedication and love, in his own dark, twisted way, is heartwarming.

It's hard to share too much of this story without giving away spoilers from the prior two books - while each book does have it's own plot arc, there is a strong larger plot that lasts across all three.

We learn more about The Sanctum, just how broken the system had become, how evil it had become, and the horrors that occurred during the training for the various positions within.

I loved Orion's crazy and there's no other word for him. I do wish we'd gotten a little more of his past, how exactly he'd become the man we see in this story. But that's probably because I'm also a curious soul and I'll never have enough!

Regardless of my nosiness curiosity, I have to make sure to mention the deliciously dark humor running through "Reaper's Vice" just like in "Phantom's Vice." There's some really silly moments providing levity to what at times is heavy material.

We see Ghost a few times from "Phantom's Vice" and he's still just as perfect as I remember!
*Insert: slight fan girl squeal

With Seraphina... There's no words to describe the awful things the poor girl survived, and came out stronger for. She's a phoenix. Absolutely beautiful, but reborn from the fires (literally and metaphorically) she's lived through.

I'm sad to see the series end, I've fallen in love with the characters and their pets!, but it was a fantastic, explosive ending and I hope we see more Sanctum members' spinoff stories in the future.

This is a DARK romance so check the triggers if you need that kind of thing. Otherwise, treat the story as a thriller with super spicy scenes!

I can't wait to see what Ms. Paige writes next!

Can I just start off with WOW, no form of words can even express how speechless I am about this book. I was so ready to have Orion's backstory and his book and really excited to find out about the FMC. Let me just tell you this story was strong built, yet fragile enough to break hearts.

Seraphina Valez has this invisible mask that she holds within herself, creating walls to every single person in her life. She has been through the unimageable, and could get through anything, even a brick wall. She protects and guards her heart from all who approaches her, but she doesn't know she would open her heart up to a mask man who kidnaps her. Seraphina character was so dangerously in charge to watch the entire book. It was beautiful to see how her woman power was being shown as the story progressed as each situation occurred.

Orion Adair where do I start with this man? Seeing him years later older, stronger, and powerful. Who could lie and say so many parts in this story of this man you were not swarming over him. My heart ache for all of the hurt he withstand throughout the second and now the third book. To finally being properly loved the way Orion deserves is an understatement for what he actually deserves in his life. This man has shown the true words of "I would burn an entire kingdom if you asked me too." I could rave about this man's actions in this book for days on end.

I want to give a HUGE thank you to Ms. Mindy Paige for all she has done for me and also for allowing me to read yet another book from her. My love will be endless of her writing and her books, it's like she has a specific spell to put me on with these books. (I'm not complaining at all give them all NOWWWWW) The words are SNATCHEDDDDD from my mouth about this series!! This series is top charted on my bookshelf and all the books I've read from different series.

ARC Review

What in the world did I just read and why is it over already????? Excuse me while I go back to reread this delicious book. I wasn’t ready to let it go yet. So I am leaving and going to go back to The Reaper’s Vice hole that I was so cozy in! Please allow another week before I am expected to make an appearance with life. Thank you!

How can you not fall in love with this stalker? I mean, who doesn’t love a good stalking? I think the best part is how blunt and honest Orion was with Seraphina that she didn’t even realize he was telling the truth. She kept thinking he was joking the entire time. That is what had me laughing the most. I think the part when her memories come back and she realizes that not everything in her life was true, that was the part when my heart broke. It felt like my friend just realized she wasn’t seeing everything as clearly as she thought she was. But to watch her eyes open and Orion be there for her the entire time, thats when I knew the rest of this book was about to be fire. Shoot you knew it from page one but that fire where you know things are about the burn to the ground. Metaphorically of course. I was ready to watch the burn!

Author Mindy Paige was able to write a book that was interconnected in a series but also made it so you didn’t feel confused by jumping into the series part of the way through. While I haven’t read the rest, I feel comfortable to say this entire series is beautifully written. The Reaper’s Vice captured my attention from the start and I was itching to finish this book so I could see how everything ended. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting the ending we were given. That is always a wonderful time to be surprised with a different ending than what we were expecting. I look forward to reading more from Mindy Paige as this book was only the catalyst to my Mindy Paige journey. I will be all up in her business from this point forward!!! You should too!

"I just met an angel. A ball-busting, heart pulverizing, venomous viper of an angel.
I think I’m in love."

I was lucky to receive an ARC of Mindy Paige's newest book, The Reaper's Vice (the final book in the Dark Triad Series). It follows the story of Seraphina and Orion.

I was so excited to be back in The Dark Triad world!

I have not so patiently been waiting to read Orion's story, ever since meeting him in The Phantom's Vice.

I loved Seraphina and Orion's story and thought they were perfect for each other.

They were both as unhinged as each other which I loved. Individually, they are both strong people, but together they are a force to be reckoned with.

My heart broke for Seraphina and everything she has been through and experienced, especially learning more about her past. Seraphina is a survivor and I am in complete awe of her strength after all the loss and everything she has endured.

Orion intrigued me, and I enjoyed learning more about him and his past. My heart broke for him, especially after all of the hurt he has had to endure and everything he has been through and experienced. His obsession with Seraphina was everything. That man is so far gone for her and will do anything to get her. He is walking a red flag that is for sure!

There is something about two broken people that gets me every time, and I could not help but fall in love with Seraphina and Orion.

I am a sucker for animals in a book and loved Bacchus, Savyne, Sviato, Karen and Bob!

I also enjoyed seeing Lillith, Kain, Brett and Ghost again and adored their friendship with Seraphina and Orion.

It is bittersweet knowing this is the end of the Dark Triad series, but The Reaper's Vice was the perfect way to end it all.

I cannot wait to read what Mindy comes out with next!

Thank you so much to Mindy Paige and @theauthor.agency for this ARC 💜

What a way to finish the series!!! Mindy Paige delivered like always. I couldn't wait to read Orion and Seraphina's story. I love the way Orion wasn't afraid of what Seraphina was capable of. He just wanted to protect her and make her happy.

Seraphina, like Gost, was raised in the Sanctum. She was to be the future Madame. Just like Ghost, she had other plans. She got away and hid a couple of years before those looking for her would try to take her back to take her rightful place.

Seraphina has a lot of trauma, distrust in others, and hurt due to the Sanctum. She has blocked a lot of her memories but needs to be reminded if she wants to survive. The Sanctum really did a number on her and took so much from her.

Orion is obsessed with her, and it is love at first sight for him. He laid eyes on her the night he escaped prison after long 8 years doing time for something he didn't do. I love the way Ghost and Brett's daughter, Sloane, greets him when he returns. She is a firecracker!

My heart ached for Seraphina and Orion at times. They are two toutered souls that were robbed by time and heartaches. They experienced so much lost in their lifes that you can't help but just want to yell, just give them a win already. Mindy, thank you for their HEA. I love the way Seraphina just let's Orion take care of her and how she embraces her calling and uses it for good. Orion is there by her side being her anchor. He is truly goals, in his own twisted ways.

I love the way Mindy brought all the characters and their stories together. Oh, and let's not forget their pets!!! Mindy, I'm going to miss these characters. I'm hoping we get a glimpse of them, in maybe Sloane and Hadrian story. They are a cute couple already...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and the spice. Mindy stays true to writing a spicy scene 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶. She never disappoints!!!

All good things must come to an end eventually right? But why am I so sad that it’s over? Mindy has tied the Dark Triad series together so perfectly that I’m already wanting to go back and re-read them from the very beginning.

The Reaper’s Vice was the final book in this series and honestly might have just become my favorite (shhh don’t tell the others). I’ve said this before about a lot of books, but this is another one of those “get you in a chokehold/cannot put it down/must find out what happens next” kinds of books and this is why the entire series is a 5 star 10/10 for me.

If you love an unhinged and obsessive MMC, but also a badass FMC who is quite literally a warrior princess, I’m gonna need you to check out The Reaper’s Vice. Also do yourself a favor and just add the other two from the series to your TBR too because these will 100% be on my most recommended list if you were to ask me 🙃 *Please always check TW/CW. This one contains a little darker content and your mental health matters*

@mindypaigeauthor once again, thank you for the opportunity to arc read for you. I am so proud of you and how this series has come full circle. Goodbyes are always hard when it comes to some of the best characters, but I absolutely cannot wait to see what great things come from that brain of yours! 🖤

I knew, I just knew that I would love Orion, he was mysterious in the previous book a bit so I couldn't wait to dive into more on him and his background. His story was everything I had hoped it would be. It seriously blew away all my expectations and gave more that I was wanting.

Orion is hilarious, he has such a intense wicked sense of humor, he's absolutely unhinged, extremely obsessive and possessive, but he has a heart of gold underneath it all. He has his demons and I really want to wrap him in a blanket of hugs and never let him go.

Seraphina, whew, she is a force of nature. She is strong, she is brilliant, she's resilient, she has gone through so much and as such, guards her heart completely. The chemistry between these two was intense. My heart broke for them several times throughout reading their story.

The plot twist's were insane and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I really loved seeing Lilith, Kain, Ghost and Brett!

I feel like if I say too much it will give away everything that is amazing about this book. So I'l leave this advice, read this series, read this book, you will absolutely fall in love with this world and these characters!!

What a conclusion! Ms. Paige pulled out a big one with this final segment of the Dark Triad Series.

Reaper’s Vice follows the story of Seraphina and Orion Adair. Both with secret, dark pasts that blend together in intricate ties. There’s a masked unaliver on the loose, and mysterious things continue to happen.

How did they meet you ask? Well Orion broke out of jail and began…admiring from a quarantine distance 🫣 he’s thoughtful like that…all jokes aside, their dynamic is truly a juicy mess that I’m happy to say works out in the end.

Orion is a fun, unhinged character that has layers of complexity that demonstrates he’s more than his fun frolics in the woods and his lock breaking skills. He carries scars that inevitably shaped him, and a heart that will warm your own.

My girl Seraphina is freaking MVP. She’s intelligent, strong, sarcastic in the funniest ways and has a beautiful soul. Reading her character felt like home, and as you learn of her history, you mourn and weep with her.

This story was packed with elements of thriller and mystery with dark humor, heartfelt moments, and nods to horror that’ll have your jaw on the floor. Paige’s storytelling was almost scenic in how you can see these characters experiencing their highs and lows, and don’t get me started on the feels this book puts you through. Such a cool experience!

We see some familiar faces, answers to age old questions, and a resolution that brought closure to both our characters and us. Such a great read!

If you go into this book and/or series, please be mindful of the triggers and content warnings. This book contains heavy themes that could be triggering for some. Reading is fun, but your mental health always matters.

What did I just read? Seriously, The Reaper's Vice is a masterclass in chaos, nonsense, and frustration. If I could sum up the experience: thank God it's over.

First, let’s talk about the plot—or the lack thereof. The story is a jumbled mess, hopping from one absurd event to another with no rhyme or reason. Orion escapes a maximum-security prison with laughable ease, and then... nothing. No fallout, no search parties, no sense of urgency. He just waltzes around town as if jailbreaks are a casual afternoon activity. And then there’s the animals. The author throws in random, outlandish elements—like drug-addicted alligators named Bob and Karen—that feel like they belong in a fever dream. I was tempted to DNF right there because, honestly, what on earth?

The writing is another sore point. It’s repetitive to the point of being maddening, recycling the same phrases and ideas over and over again. Scenes drag on unnecessarily, while major events are glossed over or outright ignored. It's as if the author had no plan and was just winging it, hoping for the best. Spoiler: it didn’t work.

And don’t even get me started on the romance and sex scenes. The heroine’s escapades include not one but two highly descriptive orgies involving six people—more effort seems to have gone into these gratuitous scenes than into developing her relationship with the supposed male lead. By the time the MMC finally shows up, their connection feels like an afterthought compared to the overwrought spectacle of the earlier encounters.

To top it all off, there’s no sense of resolution or satisfaction. It’s like the book set out to frustrate and alienate its readers at every turn. There’s nothing redeemable here—no engaging plot, no likable characters, no cohesive writing. It’s just a nonsensical, exasperating mess.

I can confidently say I won’t be picking up anything else by this author. The Reaper's Vice is an exercise in patience, and I’m just glad I survived it. Avoid at all costs.

Finally finally finally... I was dying for this book..

Author Mindy again did a fabulous job.. I loved this book ❤️

Spice 🌶 🌶

I was in shock where the Phantom's Vice ended and I wanted more and more..

And here we are...

Orion is unhinged af, dark and obsessive and oh god he can kill anyone in a blink of an eye but how his heart races fast and gets tender when he thinks of Seraphina..🫠🫠

Tropes

✔️Unhinged MMC
✔️ Dark Romance
✔️Stalker
✔️Feisty FMC
✔️Secret society
✔️Torch her and ☠️
✔️Past Trauma
✔️ Pierced MMC

⚠️ Please read Trigger Warning before diving into the book ⚠️

I love Orion no matter how unhinged he is but his love and his unlimited k**ks for his little dove had me on my knees..

Seraphina is amazingly written and the way her fiesty nature us shown in the book... it's commendable. She has some scars over her as she was burnt many times and your heart will break when you get to know what she has been through and still she has her fire in her..

Orion look snarky and wicked but when it comes to Seraphina, he'll burn down the world in flick of his finger and he literally will. I loved his overall character. I loved glimpse of Ghost but sorry I was focused on Orion.

"You are mine, little dove.
Your thoughts, your breathe, your existence - all belongs to me."

It was the perfect ending to this series. The Spice, the storyline and the twists in the book was perfectly appropriate. I loved each and every steamy scenes, they were smoking hot..

Author Mindy has given this series a perfect dark and unhinged ending that it deserved. Can't wait to read more of her work 🫠🥰

Wow - The Reaper's Vice was my first book by Mindy Paige and, boy, did it have me on the edge of my seat! I was new to this world so had to pick things up quickly but it certainly works as a standalone. I'm sure reading the full series from the start would have been an even better experience though.

Flying under the radar but missing some memories about her past, Seraphina tries to go about her 'normal' life, caring for her agoraphobic roommate, hanging out with her twin white tigers and selling her body to make enough money to live in a town full of degenerates. Life isn't exactly rosy. But there is also some seriously next-level creepy stuff going on once she attracts a stalker. Orion is about as fluffed-up as they get, his plague mask is so disturbing, and I'm sure as hell going to be checking for monsters under my bed for the foreseeable future!

Orion's obsession with Seraphina is something to behold, and he finds some interesting ways to show his infatuation and adoration. There are some unusual and depraved spicy scenes including some great primal moments. Meanwhile, Seraphina is tough and ballsy as anything, always the first to grab her dagger and a wildcat when protecting people she cares about. Seraphina will fight to the death and you can be sure she isn't going to be the one to die.

Just be clear, this isn't just dark, it's pitch black, so make sure you read the trigger warnings if you think this might be an issue. These characters, and Orion especially, are unhinged and some of the back stories, in particular, are tragic. It's not for everyone, but if dark is your jam you are going to love this!

The Reaper's Vice (The Dark Triad Series #3)
by Mindy Paige💟

3.5🌶️

“The Reaper's Vice “is the 3rd book in The Dark Triad series of interconnected standalones. My opinion is you should read at least one of the first two books to understand what’s going on.

Loved Orion & Seraphina’s dark and twisted love story and this book was the perfect ending to this series! It’s really has everything I look for in a Dark Romance book🖤

I just love the way Mindy writes these unhinged and damaged characters!
There were many emotional and tragic moments ,but there was also some dark humor.
Which I loved 🥰 because it gives off that roller coaster of emotions feel. This book is very dark and deal with some sensitive issues but the dark humor and the banter between the characters just make this book so enjoyable to read!! I was giggling and teary eyed 🥹throughout this story 😆

“Nina & Magoo “ ugh 😩 the tragic ending to their beautiful friendship just broke my heart 💔

Loved all the “Unusual Animal Sidekicks “ especially the 😩poor alligators 🐊 who had traumatic pasts also.

Loved the Cameos from the different characters from the previous books like “Ghost & Brett” and their young daughter …little miss sassy pants “Sloane” 😅loved her !

Overall I really enjoyed reading this dark and twisted love story and sad the series had to end . But looking forward to reading more of Mindy’s work!!
I would highly recommend you check out this series!

Thank you Mindy Paige and The Author Agency for the opportunity to arc read this book! 💜💜💜💜💜

The Reaper’s Vice by Mindy Paige is a dark, thrilling romance that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. The story follows Seraphina Valez, a woman who has endured unimaginable pain and danger, only to find herself caught in the grip of a masked, enigmatic captor—Orion Adair. His charm and raw intensity pull her in, even though she knows he’s not just a man of passion, but of ruthless power. As Seraphina grapples with the growing attraction to her kidnapper, the tension escalates between them, blurring the line between fear, desire, and submission. Paige masterfully blends suspense, danger, and sizzling chemistry in a way that leaves readers both intrigued and captivated by this twisted love story.
Orion Adair, a man marked by his past, is a complex antihero whose obsession with Seraphina is both his downfall and his salvation. He has spent years planning to win her, even if it means breaking every moral code he has. The thrill of the chase, combined with his dark and possessive nature, makes Orion a character that readers can’t help but be drawn to despite his flaws. The tension between Orion and Seraphina is electric, as they both struggle with their growing feelings amidst the looming threat of an organization determined to reclaim her. The Reaper’s Vice is a fast-paced, intense ride that explores themes of obsession, trust, and the fine line between love and control, with a conclusion that will leave readers eagerly anticipating what comes next.
