What if tonight a cataclysmic event destroyed the world as you know it? But, having had access to privileged information, your family along with a small group of others are sheltered from the calamity. Imagine you emerge five years later, changed, and believing yourselves to be the only survivors. But then you discover you're wrong. You aren't alone. And those "others" out there have decided they hate you for what you did... or rather, didn't do... in the past. Can old relationships and even older morals be revived in a post-apocalyptic society founded on distrust and discrimination? Will love or hate win in the end? These are the experiences and questions that young Samantha Overton must face in this new dystopian thriller.
I grew up in a small town in Arkansas and have gone to church my whole life. From a young age I realized I loved story telling and writing and it just came so naturally to me that I knew it was what I was meant to do. I wrote my first book, "Into The Fold", when I was only 12 years old. Of course it has been edited some since then because, well, one can't exactly expect a middle schooler to write ready to publish works. "The Red String of Fate" was one I wrote in highschool when I was about 15. I have many other books that are not yet published because well, I hand wrote everything and typing takes time.
I got married to an amazing man the year after I graduated highschool and we now have two beautiful children. I'm a stay at home mom as well as an Author. I'm still working on getting more out there for readers and believe me I have plenty more things in the works. This journey has only just begun. ❤ This Author also publish under Layla Gatlin
