This book is so much darker 🙂 . I usually don’t read the TW but please take the time to actually read the TW !!!! The plot twists were so crazy . I definitely enjoyed the character development and the side characters. Caleb and Cody’s bromance was definitely a light and funny addition to the dark parts of this book !!!
First, I would like to say that this book is part of a duet that was my first to read(s) from Valeriia Miller, I am amazed on how she writes, it’s very unique. I’ve never read a book so addictive. Valeriia out did herself with this duet and I’m so glad that I was about time read the ARC for Silent Echoes!
This is book two of the devils duet, this book is darker. PLEASE, I beg that you do read the trigger warnings! This book blew me away, I was on edge. Caleb (MMC) went through hell trying to find Lilith (FMC) and my poor baby Lilith, she went through so much stuff from that cult that she was kidnapped into, I don’t want to spoil too much of it, but I’ll keep it short and sweet!
Lilith was kidnapped by a religious cult ran by 3 dangerous men and she is going through so much torture and trauma by one of the men. It takes Caleb sometime to track everyone down with the help of his side kick, but he does, leaving bodies as him saying that he’s near and he’s lurking. He won’t stop until he finds Lilith.
P.S. It does have a happy ending ;)

DNF (for now) I will come back and try to read this book again, because I believe the story and the author deserve that.
I think this author creates beautiful worlds and deep characters that are as close to feeling like normal humans instead of just a trope. It’s easy to view yourself in the characters, and that it not an easy thing for authors to do. The world and characters are compelling, intriguing, and have dimension that other books don’t have. This book picks up right where the first one ends and the first one ends on a nail biting cliffhanger.
With that being said I’m quite torn on this review, often I don’t leave any, but I can’t determine whether I am perhaps not getting pulled into the world for the second book, or if something keeps pulling me out.
I love the story of Caleb and Lilith, and adored the first book. The first book had 2 parts and it felt like the second part of the book was written differently than the first; things like dialogues or character quirks, felt like it was written by someone else compared to the first part of the book . Those differences continued into book 2 and it had been challenging for me to stay absorbed into the story.
The challenges for me personally was some of the dialogue, or character thought processes felt distant and muted from the characters themselves compared to the first book. I wondered if the book was perhaps translated or used an AI software to proofread and make grammatical corrections, not because there were faults but rather some terms used felt clinical instead of practical. I often wondered why Lilith felt more critical in her descriptions while her inner monologue was more accommodating.
With that being said, I’m still going to give 3 stars and hope that when I do come back to this story I am able to find my rhythm and see how the story goes for our two protagonists.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️First, for those that like dark romance/ thrillers, this book is for you!
Second, make sure to read the trigger warnings, because this second book is much darker than the first, but I enjoyed it even more than the first book!
I love the character development for everyone in this book. You get to see different sides of Lilith and Caleb that they only bring out in each other. I also love how strong and confident Lilith becomes in this second book and the never ending love and devotion Caleb has for her.
This book explores a few different themes and dives in deep into religious cults and the effects of brainwashing via methods of pain and isolation. It’s intense and the way the author writes, you can picture exactly how one might feel in a similar situation.
She also delves into Lilith and Caleb’s parents a little bit more and you start to understand why they become the way they are just a little bit more.
This book takes you for a ride and captivates you from the very beginning with raw emotions and descriptions!
I thought the first book was good but this one WAS.THE.BEST👌🏻
It had everything i wanted and i devoured the book UPPPPP. Im am soooo in love with Caleb it’s not even funny anymore. Like i was begging him to stop talking because everything he said to her just made me fall in love with him even moreeee and he is FICTIONALLLLL 😭😭😭. My standards went📈❤️❤️.I don’t know what to say more about him , he was just ✨PERFECT✨The way he just couldn’t rest properly without her , the way he treated her after he saved her , the way he BEGGED he , yes you heard that right , BEGGEDDD her not to push him away because he couldn’t stand not being near her was just aghhhhhhhh❤️💋💋
DONT GET ME STARTEDDDD ON LILITH 🙇♂️. She probably had the best character development i have ever read. She also is my favourite MFC ever .I loved her with all my life and i will not accept ANYYYYYYY criticism from yall.I don’t know if im more in love with Caleb or Lilith at this point . Probs both.❤️❤️ She was just the strongest MMC i have ever read . She never gave up and never went down without a fight .I cried with her , i smiled with her . And when she took revenge for all the horrors she went through i was like ‘YES GIRLL KILL THAT BI**H !!!!‘ ‘FU**ING DESTROY THEM ALL!!!!!’ and she fu**ing didddd.
Would 10000% recommend ( read the trigger warnings though)
this second book to the devil’s duet was definitely MUCH darker. so please read your content and trigger warnings before proceeding 🖤 this book dives into religious cult, abuse of drugs, sa, emotional trauma, and brainwashing.
i cried so many times throughout this. seeing what poor lilith went through during her time at the den just made me feel even more for her. i love her so much. i just want to hold her and cry with her. i’m glad mateo got what was coming for him. lilith made him pay and that’s all i needed to go on.
the character development for both caleb and lilith between this book and book one was something i absolutely loved. i got to see how strong and confident lilith grew and the ever growing love caleb has for her.
i also loved meeting the new characters like eliana and cody. the bond between eliana and lilith always brought a smile to my face. the bromance with caleb and cody was the perfect comedy relief for such a dark book.
This part is definitely more triggering than the first one. If the first had some dark parts and was a bit graphic, this one is like ten shades darker. I loved everything - how the story progressed, the plot twists, Caleb and Lilith’s growth, the spice that was an unholiness compared to the first book. The scene in the woods🫣🫣🫣🫣my personal favorite. The references to movies were 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 Please check trigger warnings before going into this part🙏🏽
This book carries on from the first book's ending and the vibe takes a complete turn from the first book. It almost felt dystopian in a way which I loved. I wanted to enter the book, hug Lilith, and lift her chin when reading her POVs. Whilst Caleb is presented as a morally grey character, compared to my feelings for him in the first book, I couldn't wait for him to appear and wreak havoc. I loved the plot twists within the duet, the second book being my favourite. The feelings of this book felt eerie yet I found myself anticipating what would happen next. I recommend reading the triggers for this book as it is a lot darker than the first one. The ending of this book was a satisfying end to the duet and I can't wait to read more from the author.
Thank you to Valeriia Miller for allowing me to receive a free copy in return for an honest review.
I throughly enjoyed this book more then the first! I loved both, but this had a lot more character development for Caleb! I loved how he changed especially toward Lilith in the book. I loved his mentality of burning the world down with her! It had the perfect amount of spice/smut. It definitely was was dark romance, I wonder if there is more to come for Lilith and Caleb. I would recommend reading!

Before I begin, I wanted to say thank you to Valeriia Miller for allowing me to read an Advanced Reader Copy of this novel! I greatly enjoyed book one, and was thrilled to be able to review this second one!
In exchange for this ARC, I am proving my honest review regarding this book!
First off, talk about DARK!! The author was NOT exaggerating when she stated that this book is much darker than the first. So read your trigger warnings and buckle up!!
After our major cliff hanger from book one, we find our FMC, Lilith, has been kidnapped by an insane and deadly religious cult. And MMC, Caleb, is going through hell trying to find his woman. Lilith goes through so much abuse during her time in Father’s Den, and this is the primary reason for the trigger warnings. Caleb searches for Lilith, recruiting help from a former employee, Cody, to try to find where this cult has taken and hid her away.
Halfway through the book there is a huge bump to 4 months ahead - and suddenly two of the cult members, Eliana and Adam, are helping Lilith ? This felt very out of character for Adam who is known to be a rule follower, and there’s not really an explanation for why they’re suddenly willing to put everything on the line for her.
I don’t want to spoil too much of the novel, but this bump was very dramatic in the characters personalities, and I felt that more could have been discussed on their change of heart.
I loved the bromance that developed between Caleb and his (hard to admit) friend, Cody. They egged each other on, Caleb’s absolute destructiveness and passion to kill every single person that was involved in Lilith’s disappearance and Cody’s careful introverted nature as they search for the girls.
I also felt that at the end of the novel it is stated that there are characters that were found alive but we never get to see another interaction with them. I was dying for this reunion and to see how Caleb responded?!
There were still many grammatical errors that need to be fine tuned and addressed to help with the story line. I often found myself being removed from the story line when I stumbled upon a dramatic grammatical error.
Overall, I did enjoy this book, it is extremely dark so I would tell audiences to read trigger warnings and beware. If dark romance is not your thing, this book is definitely not for you.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️
“You’re still the most beautiful thing in the world to me. You always will be, Lilith.”
4.5⭐
This book is part 2 of The Devil’s Duet. You have to read the first book, Shattered Hearts, to understand what's going on. Also, please take the time to thoroughly go through the trigger warnings. This book is much darker than the first.
After reading the first book and the cliffhanger we were left with, I can safely say that the shock from the ending of book one carried over throughout most of book two. My heart was constantly pounding against my chest, worried for Lilith and everything she was facing. I have never read a book like this one before, but I really enjoyed it. It was like a psychological thriller with the romance you’re craving.
The plot twists in this book had me on the edge of my seat. There were constant twists and turns that had you saying to yourself, “What is going on?” and “Just one more chapter.” The resolutions to problems in the first book were fixed in the second, allowing the character to have a HEA. It also gave the theme “love conquers all.” I just wish that there was a better explanation about the safety and happiness of the side characters at the end of the book; I have grown to love them just as much as the main characters.
If you think that book one was a little cliche or slow-paced, this book fixes that; I had a hard time putting the book down! I love how, through everything, Lilith’s strength and spirit remained strong, and that no matter what, Caleb continued to love her and make her feel comfortable.
I can’t wait to read other books from this author. I can tell that Valeriia Miller is going to be a favorite writer of mine!
“ I don’t want to fix you, my love, because you don’t need fixing. You’re not damaged. You’ve shown how strong you can be, both in body and spirit, and that dosen’t need fixing. It needs to be embraced and accepted with pride and love. And I’ll do that just as you will.” (My favorite quote from the book 🙂)
*ARC copy provided in exchange for an honest review*
This book fits in the dark part of dark romance, more so than the first book. That being said, I enjoyed this book more than the first one. Lilith goes through an extremely dark time within the religious cult that captures her, but she does her best to maintain her strength. It was fantastic to see her come into herself and harrowing to read about her journey and the healing that must occur as a result.
Let's face it: Caleb isn't a golden boy. He is as morally gray as they come. In this second book, though, I adored him, his guilt, his struggle to find Lillith at all costs, and the overall character development we see from him in this book. Lilith and Caleb had more chemistry in this book, and I felt that their relationship was flushed out better, making me like them more.
The side characters were a good addition and brought in a fond family vibe that added to the book. I wish we had discovered a little more about a few unresolved side characters (no spoilers here), but what was hinted at left readers to imagine their own ending for those characters. Who knows, there may be another companion novel from their POV in the future.
There were still a few weird word choices, but fewer than in the first book, and it didn't take away from the reading as much. Two things worth noting. First, this is a long book, so go in knowing you'll want to put some time aside to read. Second, without spoiling anything, I urge anyone reading this book to check the trigger warnings first. I know in many of my reviews that I say to check the TW list, but please do so for this one. There are a lot of dark subject matters covered, and while the author tastefully describes those moments, your mental health matters.
❣️Paranormal/ Cult ❣️Book 2/2 ❣️Dark Romance ❣️Steamy ❣️Suspense X Mystery ❣️Secret Society ❣️Touch her and ☠️
If you haven’t read book 1 you need to or you won’t understand what happens or why it happens in book 2. Valeriia miller does it again. I loved this book and I love how she perceives both main characters Caleb and Lilith. Caleb is a 6’8” man who’s soul is dark and he is obsessed with with Lilith. She goes from wanting him to hating him to needing him. She is stronger than she thinks she is and endorses so much in this book. This book has a good amount about a certain cult where they call the one in charge “Father.” I can’t say more without giving too much away so go read it to find out everything that she has to go through. However no matter what happens, Caleb would move heaven and earth to protect what is his. He has no shame in getting his hands bloody.
👀Quotes I loved—-
“Emerging from the ashes- the fallen angel with shattered wings. Well set everything ablaze and reveal together in the ashes, my little devil.”
“I want to absorb her pain, even if it means sacrificing fragments of my own soul.”
“The dark side suits you so fucking good, little devil.”
“Scared that I’m going to eat you”
“As fallen angels, our souls are bound to eternally haunt each other, destined to reunite even beyond our earthly existence.”
I absolutely LOVED the first book in this duet. As soon as I finished “Shattered Hearts” I jumped right into this book to see how things would end up. Pretty early on in the book there’s grammar mistakes (like the first in the series but again not enough to ruin the book). I enjoyed Caleb’s character so much in this book and Lilith may be one of my all time favorite characters. Lowkey gave off “Hunting Adeline” vibes when it came to Lilith’s POV so if you didn’t enjoy that book… you most likely won’t be too crazy about this one but… I loved it so I was definitely invested from beginning to end. There were a couple twists that I genuinely didn’t see coming that kept me wanting to read more and more. This book was a lot longer than I expected and it did drag a little and I had to push my way through.
This one is a lot darker than the first, so make sure you read the trigger warnings!
Book two picked up where the first left off. It was at times difficult to read what Lilith was going through, but the trigger warnings are there for a reason, and every reader will know their own comfort level. This is very on par with dark romance, though.
The character development was nice to see. And Caleb trying to find Lilith was intense, especially his kind of calling card, so those who kidnapped her knew what was up.
The series was a very different read for me, but it was fun to dip my toe in the dark romance world (take the word dip lightly because this is definitely top-tier dark romance!)
And spoiler, I really loved the happy ending! Epilogues are such a gift to readers. And this one was no exception! Loved the ending.

Holey Moley, this book was even darker than the first one. Our FMC finally gives in to the love she feels for her killer boyfriend, only to be kidnapped by a cult. We watch her struggle to keep her sanity and sense of self intact, as we also see her man spiraling out of control while he seeks to find her.
This book is one where you REALLY need to read the TW's. Do not hate on this book if they are not for you, just move along and find a cozier book to read. This is NOT the book for you if you want cozy wrapped up in a neat bow with an easy HEA. This is dark, and gritty, and traumatizing, and painful.
I don't want to say anything else because it will be all spoilers, but... > > > > Minor not super spoiler but maybe little spoiler... > > > > there might be therapy and a chance for healing towards the end.
What happens when you are kidnapped by a cult and your hot psycho bf is a serial killer. Haunting terrifyingly awesome book. Honestly, it was super intense but such a vibe. The zazzle was strong, but the SA was also strong. So, this book was basically like when you really want ice cream, but you only have a gallon with a freezer burnt top. Gratifying and subtly unpleasant. The actual book had great writing, vibrant characters, and magical imagery. Overall, this was a win, but I'm a conflicted girlie.
Reading Silent Echoes felt like walking through a dark tunnel for what seemed like hours, but then eventually, you see a light at the end of the tunnel. All I had to do was read the prologue, and I was immediately hooked. Every time I finished a chapter, I had to read more to see what happened next. Valeriia Miller's imagination is insane and totally mind-blowing, and the descriptive detail that she puts into her story made me feel like I was actually there. Silent Echoes kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last page.
The way Shattered Hearts left me I seriously couldn't wait for Silent Echoes!! I was ecstatic when I got the ARC 😁 And let me just say Valeriia Miller absolutely DELIVERED 👏🏻
I never wanted to put down the book. I really really enjoyed it! The love, the thrill, the pain, the surprises, and let's not forget the spice 😏🌶
"Soon, little devil," I whisper across her lips. "Soon, you will set the entire fucking world ablaze, and I will gladly kneel before you, reveling in the searing touch of the scorching coals against my skin."
I received this as an ARC. This is a dark romance, I highly recommend reading the TWs before diving into this book!
This book picks up where book ones cliffhanger left off. Lilith is abducted by Caleb’s wack ass coworker. Turns out he runs a freaky ass cult based around his ancestors weird ass made up religion. Caleb wakes up, finds out Liliths mom is still a raging cunt, and starts frantically searching for her, leaving dozens of bodies behind. The first half of the book is her time in the cult, where fucked up shit happens, but she manages to make a few friends. Don’t worry, she gets her revenge. You go girl!! Caleb finds her just in the nick of time too! The second half is her experience readjusting to real life, and life with Caleb. She’s so incredibly traumatized, and Caleb is so so patient with her. We get found family vibes, and some beautiful character development from both main characters. The imagery for the cults base was very well done.
Okay. So my rating is a 3 again because there’s just something about the grammar and spelling that throws me off. And this story following the first almost seems super random. I would’ve never guessed Grayson and some other random coworker were part of a cult. We knew Grayson was a creep and had some wack ass vibes from the get go, but this was just a weird path. I really enjoyed the storyline though, and I really enjoyed how Lilith was able to work through her trauma, with Caleb being as patient and supportive as possible.
Book two picks up right where the first one ended. Lilith has been taken by Grayson’s men and she wakes up inside a cult with several other women. This book is much darker than the first and also MUCH LONGER. Caleb doesn’t give up trying to find Lilith and we get to see from both perspectives throughout this book. Overall, I liked this book.
PLEASE PLEASE READ TRIGGER WARNING This book a good and it is a lot long than book one, and darker I love that is showed both Caleb and Liliths point of view In would like to see where their future takes them. Can’t wait to read more f on this author
This just made me really miss zade and addy. Anyways I got to like 80% and totally lost interest in the story. It wasn’t bad but it was just trying so hard to be a copy and paste of the cat and mouse duet.
The book was amazing! It was a fantastic read. I loved everything about the book. I can't wait to see what happens next with the series or any other books you write
This was everything I wanted and more. Picked up right where we left off, and jumped straight into it! This one was definitely darker, check TWs. The ending was beautiful, I loved it so much.
This was part 2 of the duet and it surpassed all my expectations. This book was hella detailed. Lilith is sooo strong for all she went through and Caleb is the sweetest serial unaliver bf if thats even possible? He loves her truly unconditionally and you can feel it coming off the page. 10/10 recommend reading!
