Seven years hasn’t been long enough to forget the bite of Casimir’s rejection.

When the Monster Relations Bureau tasks me and Casimir with solving a string of rogue vampire attacks in Boston, I’m quick to let him know I work best alone.

But it doesn’t take me long to end up in the crosshairs of the city’s most feared vampire coven, and with no better options, I agree to work the case with Casimir. It puts me under his protection, staying in his opulent Gothic manor and slowly rediscovering the reasons I’ve always found him so darkly irresistible.

With a city on edge, a twisted power struggle between corrupt politicians and the covens who’ve silently ruled over Boston for centuries, and the vampire from my past quickly becoming the bane of my present, it’s all I can do to keep Casimir at arm’s length and protect the pride he shattered seven years ago.

As we get closer to solving the case, lines blur, danger rises, and all the walls I’ve kept raised against him crack and crumble, until I’m forced to face the fact that I’m just as powerless now as I was then against this vampire and the wicked pleasure of his bite.

I don't give 5 stars that often anymore but goddamn, I really enjoyed this one.

This book had everything the last one didn't, and thank god for that. As much as I did not enjoy the second book in this series, that much I did love this one. Ophelia was stubborn but not too much, she was strong, smart and just a great fmc. Casimir was just perfection, I love that man. This is how you write a good mmc, a good, decent man. He was sweet, protective, very hot, and just seemed like a real man. Their relationship was great, with good progress and good communication. As lovely as their relationship was, the other plots were also very entertaining.

A very enjoyable read!

ARC Review
Release Date: 9/3/2024

“𝘓𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘖𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘢?”

It’s no secret that I am a sucker for a vampire (pun intended), so I leapt on this ARC opportunity.

Ophelia is a human surrounded by immortal supernatural beings. After an embarrassing failure at romance with a very sexy vampire, she flees Boston and begins a life roaming the country as a private investigator.

Seven years into her career, she is paired up with said sexy vampire, Casimir, to solve a string of rogue vampire attacks in her old stomping grounds. Cas and Ophelia are apprehensive of one another due to their past, but all that forced proximity has them wondering what went wrong in the first place.

Ophelia and Cas’s second chance is sweet, funny, and 🔥hot🔥, and this was such a fun read!

Long and contrived. FMC is supposed to be 30 something but acts and thinks like a teenager. MMC is angsty and broody with little else to his character. The main appeal of forced proximity and miscommunication is resolved with body betrayal and a post-sex apology and it’s never brought up again.

Firstly I want to thank Leigh Miller for this opportunity to review this book! I am so excited to give my thoughts on this book (which I received an ARC for). I will say I feel terribly for delivering this review late and it has nothing to do with my enjoyment of the book and everything to do with personal circumstances!

Trigger or content warning? Found on the author’s website!

Details?
FMC’s name is Ophelia and she is 30 in the present day. MMC’s name is Casimir and he is around 400 years old.
The first chapter is from 7 years ago, where Ophelia was 23 years old and Casimir was still around 400 years old.
No OW drama.
OM drama. First OM is Marcus. He was changed at the same time as Casimir. He walks in on Casimir and Ophelia getting cozy on the roof of the club 7 years ago, he reveals information that sends Ophelia and Casimir going their separate ways. Second OM is Philippe who was also changed at the same time as Marcus and Casimir. Marcus and Ophelia have a thing when she was 23, I Believe it was sexual but he never fed from her. Philippe is an issue in present time when he meddles with Casimir and Ophelia’s investigation, and tempts Ophelia to receive information in exchange for him feeding from her. Before she gets the chance to stop him Casimir busts in like the koolaid man.
It is not touched on whether they slept with other people.
Ophelia and Casimir have decided individually not have kids, so when they have sec there is no protection used. Ophelia had it “taken care of” sometime in the 7 years.
Casimir has handcuffs already in his drawer that he and Ophelia use, I don’t know if this will trigger people but I thought it would be good to mention.

My thoughts?
Usually, I can be sensitive to the lack of information about their separations. My mind whirls and I can’t seem to settle, but with Casimir and Ophelia they took up that idle space. They may have had the chemistry 7 years ago, but they were not the right fit for each other. Ophelia too young and desperate to not be left behind, accidentally using vampires as the key so that she wouldn’t die before her family members. Her Mother is bloodbonded to Ophelia’s Step Father. Her older sister was also going to outlive her. So she was the only human in that family that was set to die much sooner than the rest of them. I can understand why that knowledge haunted her, and made her want a bloodbond. Casimir had every right to ground Ophelia into what her actions meant, and the message stuck because Ophelia avoided vampire clubs from that point forward. Casimir also had to grow into the idea of a blood bond considering he had never wanted one. Their attraction and chemistry was instant, but their love took time to grow. There were definitely highs and lows between them, which they navigated for the most part like two mature (or at least trying their very best) adults. It was throwing two commitment-phobe people together that have insane chemistry with each other and watching them slowly break down each other’s defences.
I love Ophelia and Casimir’s love. Their story was easy to read, and the secondary storyline kept me hooked.

Last year my friend and I saw 'Nora's Kraken' (the first book in this series) on social media, and prompted that book for our 18+ book club. That was an awesome adventure and now, a few books further, it's still great. I want more books and more epic supernatural shifter lover adventures!!

I started this latest book just a few hours ago, and before I knew it, I had devoured it in one sitting. Putting it down simply wasn’t an option; the writing was so fluid and smooth that it felt like the words were effortlessly slipping into my brain, making it an "I just started - oh I finished it already" situation.
The characters were also very fun and the plot kept me hooked from beginning to end. The only thing that could tear me away was a pizza break.

I only wished there was more about "that one specific item in his nightstand", that would have been great. (hehehe)

I had a lot of fun reading this, and I feel incredibly honored I was gifted this book as an ARC.

(Also, if you have listened to 'The Inventor's Apprentice' on Quinn: Picture Thomas Doherty his Quinn-audio-voice as the vampire. You're welcome!)

Edit: after sitting with my review and thinking about the book as a whole, I’ve adjusted my rating because, while the book was still enjoyable, I can’t stop thinking about how basically nothing happened the entire time.

Fun book! I LOVED large swaths of it, but most of the last 50 pages I found really boring and the characters even talk about at the end how they were kinda useless. I loved the characters and I loved the fact they apologized, and the times they chose not to communicate about their feelings felt believable instead of childish or manufactured.

Much better than Kenna’s Dragon, but not as great as Nora’s Kraken.

I feel like this author needs to allow bad things to happen and have some more actual drama instead of hinting at bad things but never letting it go far.

Thank you so much to the author for the arc.

Aaah, this book had everything a paranormal romance should have. Banter, fun plot, tension and a slow burn!! I think it is my favorite in the Monster Relations Bureau series.

Our human FMC Ophelia is a PI and is hired by her sister to look into som suspicious events that may be tied to a public figure and the vampire network in Boston. She works best alone, but is set up to work with a 400 year old vampire, Casimir, which she have a semi history with seven years prior.

The mystery in this book forced the characters to work together, and was used to develop the relationship between the characters. the main focus of the book is still the romance. Low/medium stakes, good spice and excellent characters growth.

Read if you like:
-biting 😏
-vampires
-a little mystery
-forced proximity
-adult characters
-spice 🌶️🌶️
-a fun, good time!!

Highly recommend the whole series if you want an easy palete cleanser or just a fun paranormal romance.

(Ps: if you enjoyed bride by ali hazelwood, i think you will enjoy this one as well 👀)

I am a little surprised by how much I loved this book. It was so sweet and wholesome. I felt the pacing was good, I loved their relationship, but also the plot was interesting and kept me wanting more.

Casimir…. Was so down bad from the jump. We love that and I love him. He was so careful of Ophelia and his protective side coming out was everything… like he almost killed a man for her. The devotion.

“But you also deserve to be cherished. Any who receive the gift of you should fall to their knees in gratitude for the honor.”

Ophelia was a good fmc as well. She stood her ground and didn’t let anyone push her around. She was independent, but also allowed herself to be vulnerable with Cas. And they COMMUNICATED!!!!!!!! It was amazing lol

Anyway… I had a great time and want to read the others in the series for sure.

I couldn’t stop reading it! I loved the dynamic between the two characters so much. The miscommunication trope was done in a way that it wasn’t overly frustrating the way it can be in other books and I appreciated how fast the characters moved on from it so we could really see the development of their relationship. They also had incredibly interesting backstories that made for complex dynamics that made the love story even more compelling. And the romantic scenes where they’re both protective of each other and love each other so much - I sometimes paused to read them twice. Would highly recommend this series, and so happy this book lived up to the quality of the others.

Ophelia’s vampire was such a cool story. You know I love a good vampire story and I really can’t ever resist them. Casimir’s such a gentleman and looked after Ophelia so well. He had me dreaming and swooning.

I enjoyed that they had to work together to solve a mystery and the plot worked well. This book was very enjoyably spicy and it was definitely my cup of tea. 🩸🍵 As always, I love when other characters from the series have cameos and this was no different! Love this whole series. Really at this point, Leigh can do no wrong.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this ARC! 🖤

I just finished reading Ophelia’s Vampire by Leigh Miller and once again, I find myself saying "this one is my favorite". Leigh Miller is definitely one of my go-to authors. I started with Demon’s Bride, and now I'm five books in with Ophelia’s Vampire.

Leigh has a way of crafting the most perfect paranormal romances.

There are so many of my favorite tropes in Ophelia’s Vampire:

- Bickering as foreplay
- Aphrodisiac bites
- Touch her/him and die vibes
- Biting/blood exchange
- Second chances
- A female main character in her 30s (yes please)
- A centuries-old vampire who is willing to get on his knees for her
- A little bit of fake dating for spy reasons

Ophelia and Cas had a misunderstanding 7 years ago, and now they have to work together to solve a case for the Monster Relations Bureau. Ophelia wants to work the case alone, and Cas respects her wishes until Ophelia attracts the attention of one of the vampire covens. Now, Cas is determined to do anything to ensure her safety and well-being.

Let me start this with saying I received a free ARC of this and I am grateful for it!

This book is right up there, neck and neck, competing with Nora's Kraken with being my favorite book of this series so far. I absolutely ate this book up and I loved it so much. I was hoping that Casimir would get his own book cause when I read about him in the little bit in NK I was already in love. So, when I found out that he was going to have this book I was ecstatic!

Ophelia and Cas were a delight to read about. They were both strong in their own ways, and have their vulnerabilities, and we were able to see them open up to each other. The beginning of the book with seven years in the past was good. The instant miscommunication frustrated me, but both Ophelia and Cas either could not communicate what they meant (Ophelia) or would listen (Cas). Which is why I am glad that it did not take too much of the book for the miscommunication to get cleared up in the present day. Ophelia made a lot of sense when it came to the bloodbounding. Having an entire family who will outlive you will make anyone feel conscious about their own life. And she realized and learned how to grow from that. And Cas was able to listen and see where she was coming from as well.

These two really did wreck me because they were so cute together. Their dynamic was a great one and I loved the push and pull they had. Their teasing was funny and I actually chuckled quite a bit when they would retort back to one another. They also made me emotional many times because of their own insecurities and vulnerabilities they were scared to share. I am glad that the story was able to progress before they had any sex. I am all for my monster romances having sex, but when the plot gets pushed to the side and that is all they do it does get tiring. I am so glad this book as plot with spice sprinkled in it, and it was well done as well. You can feel their love and affection for one another in the sexy scenes and it is because we got to know the characters beforehand.

There is a part during one scene that I really liked: "There's something about having a man desperate and begging for it that's such a fucking power trip. I'm no sadist, and I try not to be too cruel, but goddamn does it do things to me" When I tell you I ATE this part up. Having men in romance books who actually beg and submit themselves to their partner (especially if it is a woman) takes me out every time. I need more men in books to be submissive like this while still taking control sometimes. I need to see them being more vulnerable and trusting their partner and not being all degrading or vulgar. There were a couple times where Cas gave in to Ophelia and I LOVE IT HERE! Cas I love you and I am so glad you did this not only for Ophelia, but me too as the reader :3

The plot of the book was actually really enjoyable. I thought it moved at a good pace, not too slow or too fast, and the resolution worked for this book since it seems like another book will come with this ending. I wish we saw a little more with Phillippe and Marcus, but I will take what we got. Their plot points weren't too strong; but, Phillippe did come in the end and give a flashdrive to Ophelia and Cas for the case they were doing. Also, the graveyard scene had me a little stressed. Silver bullets which will greatly harm Cas (also Ophelia cause ya know, gun), so I was worried someone was getting shot. I thought Ophelia was shot and adrenaline just made her not feel it, and while that would have been fun to read about, I don't see it fitting the vibe of the book. If the book had a little more darker tone to it I could see it happening.

Anyways, this is really long. TLDR-- I loved this book, Ophelia and Cas make me emotional, and this may have bumped NK off the top spot of being number 1 (they may be tied now).

Ophelia's Vampire was a easy and cozy read. The pacing was smooth and the transitions between Ophelia and Cas's points of view were done well. I found this to be a faster read overall.

On some really good points, Cas and Ophelia have the most distinct voices Miller has written so far. I didn't need the title tags to know whose point of view I was reading from. Also, incredibly refreshing to see a communication error be actually complicated emotionally. Ophelia and Cas having very hurt feelings over the opening scene which was appropriate and made me feel for both of them. It was a real problem with hard emotions. The fact that the two were hurt but still trying to respect and empathize with the other was well done. I sincerely appreciate that this wasn't an enemies to lovers trope but instead two people who just came together at the wrong time. I also appreciate that Ophelia can see that her 23 year old self and Cas from that time would not have made a good fit even if they had a lot of chemistry. It's always nice to read stories with romantic leads who are older and more mature. I'm not a huge fan of the immortal age gap but at least Ophelia wasn't an 18 year old way in over her head.

The one thing that really dampened the whole plot for me was that the mystery/action-adventure plot didn't take just a backseat but was fully stuffed into the trunk. Everything Ophelia did just kept bringing her to dead ends. I thought the dead ends would quit when she partnered with Cas but it just seemed to get worse. It made me feel like the story should have been focused on the journalist, Audra, instead since she did way more of the heavy lifting (which Ophelia and Cas even admit to at the end of the book!). It also didn't help having Cas's painting plotline awkwardly shoehorned in. I'm all for characters getting to accomplish their own personal goals but it just felt like a huge letdown and overall superficial. I'm not entirely sure what the painting plot line was supposed to show the reader or Ophelia or even Cas. He had already been proving himself to be honorable and at no point did Ophelia bring that into question so returning the painting as this big, secret, mystery plot felt a little silly.

I'm curious if this means the Monster Relations Bureau is completed as a series now since Miller was hit all three of the main men. But if not I would love for her to focus on Serra and Jack. It would be nice to move away from the usual human-monster pairing and to shift to a mythical pairing.

Another delightful installment of the Monster Relations Bureau Series! Thanks so much to Leigh for offering me this early reader's copy - this review is my own and freely given!

I have been itching to read about a vampire MC and when we got to meet Cas in book 2, I knew I was going to love getting to know him better. While I don't think it's required to read books 1 and 2, I will strongly encourage doing so - at least book 2 - to get the most appreciation and fulfillment from this story.

Our FMC Ophelia is a human straddling the edge of the worlds between the human and paranormal community and this adds an element of understanding and connection between the two worlds that we didn't have from the FMCs of previous stories. I loved how this critical part of her history not only underscores her story arc but also allows us to really appreciate how nuanced the relationship (or lack there of) is between her and Cas.

Cas is our troubled and stagnant vampire MMC; he's lived a very long life and has acquired lots of experience and influence - and the night he almost forgets himself at the enchantress that is Ophelia is one he can't seem to forget. When their paths cross in a reluctant allies situation to solve a mystery involving Boston vampires, he finds that there are still some things in this world that push his personal vulnerability boundaries and comfort with connecting to others.

Leigh excels in writing a romance that gives the right level of tension to hold your interest while not making you feel discomfort at the misery of the characters. And of course we love the easter eggs she plants that tie in to other books in Leigh Miller World!

If you like:
- subtle mysteries that act as a way to advance the relationship development but don't have a high-cost emotionally
- seeing the chemistry that ignites between a centuries-old settled vampire and a 30-something year old human woman with a 'live in the moment' mentality
- the super seductive romantic scenes that you love in a vampire romance (but are not always led by or even initiated by the vampire himself)..
.. you'll find yourself enjoying this read. There's no element of October/spooky season in this story but who doesn't want to read about a vampire romance in the fall?!

4.25 stars. When Ophelia, the female human lead, and Casimir, the male vampire lead, met seven years ago, he was convinced by Ophelia’s recent hookup that she was just looking for immortality rather than being interested in him personally. Being rebuffed with harsh words, Ophelia left town as soon as she finished college and bought a van.

Now, Ophelia and Casimir are assigned to work together to discover who the rogue vampires attacking humans are, or if they’re a plant by the prejudiced mayor running for re-election. Ophelia is still embarrassed by the previous incident and determined to stay away from Casimir. But when opportunity arises that can only be accessed together, she acquiesces.

Both remember the previous feeling of connection, and the very real attraction is still present. But Casimir has always been sure he didn’t want a life partner, and Ophelia is definitely not willing to put herself out for rejection again!

This story is dual POV, well written and edited, and an angsty, contemporary fantasy romance with a background suspense theme. It stands alone from others in the series (because I haven’t read them yet) but is probably enhanced by reading them in order. I enjoyed Ophelia’s independence and the way she’d established herself successfully in her chosen career. I also enjoyed that she’d taken full ownership of her fertility and was confident in her choices. I empathised with her embarrassment over her last encounter with Casimir. I enjoyed Casimir’s bemusement over his attraction to Ophelia and his growing discomfort with her distance, both physical and emotional, from her. I appreciated that he had to chase her, given he’d pushed her away previously. I enjoyed the building intimacy and the slow building certainty between the characters of what they wanted.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Leigh Miller has done it again!! Ophelia’s Vampire was a paranormal romance I simply couldn’t put down!! I loved the twists and turns but what I loved most were these amazing characters! Ophelia is a human who has been brought into the world of paranormals thanks to her half vamp sister and stepfather. And while they never made her feel like she was any less for being human, it’s hard for Ophelia to feel like she isn’t in a race against time when she’s the only one aging in her family, that leads her to look for a solution to her little human problem… but when she accidentally upsets a very powerful vamp in the process she decides to leave the only city she’s ever known in search of not only her calling but a way to find comfort in her own skin. When a job brings her back to that fateful city leading to a reuniting with said Vamp well maybe if nothing else she’ll find a way to offer up an apology and gain forgiveness for her past transgression. Casimir is a powerful vamp who has no need of loved ones, he’s happy with his art and a few trysts here and there to satisfy his thirst, even if one human years ago challenged his beliefs. And while a secret came out ruining any chance of him and Ophelia ever being anything more than acquaintances, now Ophelia is back and even more challenging than ever before making him question if perhaps his knee jerk reaction so many years ago wasn’t a mistake… not to mention the chemistry between them seems to set off sparks whenever they’re even in the same room together. So I’d say that if you love SLOW burn romances filled with tension that’s ready to boil over at any second, vampires, strong independent FMC, mystery, and plenty of spice than don’t let Ophelia’s vampire pass you by and add it to your TBR today!

LOVE LOVE LOVE

She has done it again. I don't normally do warm and fuzzy but I will 100% always do warm and fuzzy with any books by Leigh Miller. Her characters always have the best banter and the right amount of tension and spice.

This is the third installment of the Monster Relations Bureau series and it slightly overlaps the tail end of book 2 in the series. We have a new head of the Bureau and she hires her sister to look into some situations of unrest in the community they think may be tied to a person of interest/public figure.

Ophelia and Casimir have been put together to work the case. Their chemistry is off the charts. Ophelia is smart and witty, although around vampires she sometimes puts herself in not so get a situation. Casimir is also incredibly well connected and intelligent who's character development was nice but not as nice as Ophelia's growth.

The tension was tensioning from the get go! The spice was not soft but not hard either. It was hot, enjoyable and realistic as far as having a vampire as a lover can be realistic haha. But it didn't leave you scratching your head trying to do advanced mathematics to figure out the angles of certain situations.

I liked how there was actually plot and a full storyline. I was surprised because I for sure thought it would turn out to be someone else pulling the strings but it turned out to be not the case.

She was descriptive enough that I could form a perfect picture in my head but not so much that I got distracted by the details and got lost in the sauce.

Low stakes, medium spice, all the heart eyes, all the warm and fuzzies. Absolutely loved it.

Ugh, so good. There’s something so refreshing about reading a romance between adults who actually act like adults. I loved that they talked through their shared history, addressed their feelings head-on, and didn’t have to go through some dramatic, unnecessary separation just to earn their reunion. Watching them both become bloodbound felt genuinely beautiful, and the way their relationship developed had a softness that really worked for me.

That said, it did stay a bit surface-level in places. Some disagreements were resolved a little too quickly, and I felt like the tension — both emotional and romantic — could’ve been pushed further. I wanted more build-up, more ache. It was a good, mild read overall, but because of that lack of slow burn tension, their getting together didn’t hit as hard as it could have.

The spice was on the lighter side, which matched the tone of the story, and while I usually want more heat, the consistency in writing made it feel intentional rather than lacking. My one real wish? I would’ve loved a deeper dive into the implications of being bloodbound — especially for her, as a half-vampire. There was a brief conversation about it, mostly centered around their original meeting, but it felt like a one-and-done rather than something we really unpacked. Her identity, the complexities of bonding, and what that means long-term felt like areas ripe for more exploration.

Still, I loved how mature they were as a couple. Watching two people meet each other with honesty and grace? That’s the kind of grown-up fantasy I’ll always come back for.

The next standalone in the Monster Relations Bureau.

Casimir is an ancient vampire who spends his days just going through the motions of life. When Blair asks him to help with some suspicious vampire activity that could compromise the Bureau, he ends up working with PI Ophelia. They have a history, and things didn't end well, but now they are forced to work together to solve this case. As they begin working together, sparks begin to fly, and they realise that there's still feelings there that can blossom into something more if only they are both willing to give it a chance.

I found this story very emotional. The issues surrounding Casimir and Ophelia are very personal. Ophelia's feelings of inadequacy and separation from her family are very relatable, and the author explores them beautifully. I think most people have felt this way at one point. Seeing how Ophelia deals with this and the way the author explores the issues really adds to the depth of the story. Casimir is your typical dark brooding vampire with lots of self-loathing about his past, but when it comes to Ophelia, he's a possessive cinnamon roll and would do anything for her.
Their story is wonderful and a true delight to read.

I really couldn't put this book down, I read the whole thing in a day. I loved the back stories for the characters, and all the romance scenes were amazing. Some good spice but also some sweet touching moments.

These books can be read as standalones, but if you want to get all the back story, start with Nora's Kraken.

There's a reason why Leigh is one of my favorite authors ever, not only in the paranormal space.
A year later, I still think about "Nora's Kraken," one of the best books I've ever read, and this comes shockingly close to it.

A miscommunication trope is rarely done well and it's not dragged to exhaustion, but with these two it made total sense and was resolved not immediately, but still promptly.

Ever since reading Nora's book, I have loved Casimir, the mysterious vampire who didn't hesitate a second to scare and beat the crap out of her stalker, and I couldn't wait to explore this character.

He and Ophelia were extremely well-matched, both insecure and strong. Two amazing people who didn't shy away from admitting when they were wrong, and who were able to create a solid and real relationship despite everything.

The mystery was okay, nothing particularly amazing, but I have to admit I was looking forward more to the character development and the romance, so everything else was a bit in the background.

Just so you know, I received the ARC (for which I'll always be grateful to Leigh), but I wanted to support her as much as I could so I also pre-ordered the ebook and the paperback.
However, I have a small complaint: the new cover won't match the old ones of the previous books, and it breaks my heart! I wish there was still a "discreet" cover in that style because I loved it.

“You scorch me, Ophelia”
-

*feral screeching* YALLL. I cannot.

Leigh Miller has done it again. I’m in LOVEEE with this book.
The MRB series is my favorite paranormal romance stand alone series to date, and this one just knocked me off my feet.
Maybe I’m biased because I adored Casimir’s cameos in Nora’s kraken and Kennas dragon, but I digress. The charisma, the slow burn anticipation and drama leaves everything to be desired.
If you’re looking for a Monster loving book where the MMC worships the ground the FMC walks on, this is it. Look not further.
The world building is smooth, fast paced but not rushed, backgrounds easily unraveled, and overall just amazing and such a fluent and enticing read. I have always found myself drawn to vampire books but struggle with not being picky on cliches, however Leigh Miller has a way of writing that takes our concepts and makes room for new light with her stories.

I seriously cannot get enough of this book, and will definitely be adding to my re-read and physical trophy collection LOL.

As a Paranormal Romance girly, this hits every checkmark.
Tantalizing? Check. Kicking feet and giggling? Check. Spicy? CHECK.

10/10 absolutely recommend!

Plot - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Details - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice - 🌶️🌶️🌶️

PS. Thank you to the author for putting up with my over excited pestering the moment I knew the next MRB was a vampire book 🤣

"This night certainly feels like an occasion. Something rare and unexpected, still not whole believable as reality.
But it also feels... delicate. Like if I look at it too closely or hold it too tightly, it might crack and shatter back into the impossibility it came from."

Ophelia's Vampire is a book about being secure in your identity and how sometimes second chances are better than first chances.

Some Tropes featured:
-second chance romance
-fake dating
-slow burn / mutual pining
-forced proximity

Seven years ago, Casimir and Ophelia were on the brink of something more, but after a stinging rejection, Ophelia creates a new life for herself and the two never cross paths. Until they get assigned the same case. Now the two have to join forces to find out who exactly is behind the rogue vampire attacks in the city where the two have just a little too much of a past.

All in all, Ophelia's vampire was a fantastic addition to the Monster Relations Bureau series! I also like how each book showcases a mate bond a little differently.

Also, I loved the discussions around immortality and how they were flipped in this book: Ophelia is a mortal, but her loved ones aren't. Most of the time, it's the other way, so this was a neat change.

Many thanks to Leigh Miller for the eARC!

I am very grateful to have received a free ARC of this book, here is my honest review.

I have really come to love Leigh Miller’s books, and I like them more the more I read.

Ophelia’s Vampire was a lot sweeter than I anticipated going in, but damn the seven year flashback! Every time a miscommunication trope shows up I have to put the book down for a minute and get some tea while I mentally tell off the characters. I knew it would be there going in, but it gets me every time. While miscommunication is typically one of my least favorite tropes, it does play a big part in the development of the relationship between Ophelia and Cas. I also think it was done well here. The way these two grew over the course of the book felt real and natural, and the way they learn to communicate and understand one another feels mature, so it was easy to fall in love with their story and how they grow as people.

I do wish there was more from the investigation side of the story, I am very much enjoying the world these books are set in and want to know more of what’s going on in their world and how things are developing. Yet the characters are the real heart of it all and they carried the story well on their own. I had to slow down and pace myself because I wanted the story to last so much longer than my brain actually reads.

This was a lovely read and I can’t wait to read more in this universe.

So, in the story we have our two leads, Ophelia and Casimir – both human and vampire respectively – who have been dancing around one another for quite some time, that is until Ophelia decides to take the plunge and spend some real alone time with the enigmatic vampire.

However, their tentative attempt at a real romance is cut short when Ophelia's vampire exes claims that she's only interested in vampires for a blood bond (which would expand her life) With this accusation the two have a falling out only to meet up years later, when they are both involved in a case to stop rogue vampires running around the city.

Can these to work together without their past coming back to bite them or will their feelings grow into something even more then either of them were expecting?

So overall this was a fun romance with a twinge of mystery for our sleuthing couple- and by that I mean that the overarching plot to figure out the rogue vampire drama was not all that important, and the investigating was pretty minimal. Just a backdrop to get these two characters together and give them something to do in between the romance and sexy moments...which is fine by me!

A vampire and a human with a painful past find themselves working together to solve a case—and navigating their complicated, growing feelings for each other. As a huge fan of the first two books in the Monster Relations Bureau series, I couldn't wait to dive into the third installment, and Leigh Miller did not disappoint.

I loved the setup: from Ophelia’s family history and how it drives her, to Casimir’s own struggles with his past and how he perceives himself. Their stories intertwine so well on so many levels. I especially appreciated that Ophelia is a slightly older FMC—strong, confident, yet still growing and healing. And Casimir? Utterly charming with that secret heart of gold I always fall for. Vampires aren’t usually my thing, but I loved him. Plus, the spice! Some amazing fang action in there with those pain/pleasure bites we know and love.

This felt like a mature, grounded take on a second-chance romance, and it totally captivated me. The case they’re working on wasn’t as gripping as I’d hoped, but honestly, the chemistry between the two helped make up for it. I barely noticed the rest of the plot! Can’t wait for more books in the series.

Leigh Miller does it again. I never thought I’d love Casimir as much as I do now. I’ve never really had a thing for vampires, but Leigh has me switching sides.

Ophelia’s Vampire ties into the last book in the Monster Relations Bureau series, Kenna’s Dragon. Casimir and Ophelia have some history together that did not end on a good note. Will the past come back to haunt them when they are both called in to the Monster Relations Bureau to work on a case together?

The chemistry between these two is undeniable. They can try to deny it all they want and stay professional, but it’ll only make things worse. One taste is all it takes for the walls to start crumbling down.

The Monster Relations Bureau is becoming one of my favorite series. I cannot wait to see what Leigh has in store for us next!

Also for any BG3 peeps, Casimir is giving Astarion vibes and it’s so swoon worthy.
