From the acclaimed Magic and Miracles Novella Anthology, here is Rapunzel reimagined. Marred by pock scars, Ellie creates beautiful paintings up in her tower. Her closest childhood friend, Anton Westwick delivers her famous creations to the world. He's vowed to be an eternal bachelor but when Ellie decides to leave the tower and reenter society, Anton must decide where his future lies.

I wouldn't say that this is a Rapunzel reimagined or retelling. The only element from the original story that the author took was the main character was a girl who painted in a tower. For a large portion of the story, I liked and I thought this was a super cute friends to lovers story. However, I was largely annoyed with the main character because she simply refused to speak her mind and what emotions she was feeling, making everything so much harder for the people in her life. I could see how hard Anton tried to talk to her, but every time he brought up the conversation, she would lie and make things worse. Her sister also annoyed me very much, ruining Ellie and Anton's adventure for the sake of creating her own scandal and simply putting her sister in an uncomfortable position that hurt her.
This was a different book. I'm not sure it's Rapinzel re-imagined other than the reference to her tower. Still, it was a nice romance about two connected people who live totally different lives. Their connection does not extend to their growing awareness that things can not or may not continue. Thus, our tale of love daring to become true love.
"...to have my next quest with you—you—are my greatest adventure.”
"...I could ask the tower a wish, it’d be to have my next quest with you—you—are my greatest adventure.” Fascinating take on a beloved tale. Unfortunately there were numerous typos and grammatical errors I was pulled from the story with alarming frequency.
Confusing and flat. I could not get into this one. I started with great expectations and quickly found myself disappointed. I could find no sympathy for her, no interest in him and their conversations just left me confused. Didn't even finish. Tossed on the NOT pile.
Well this was a great lil listen!! I had Gossip Girl vibes haha it was like waiting forever for Chuck and Blair to be together feels…. I will be looking into what else this author has written!!
