I really enjoyed these stories—the variety of lives that are explored in this collection is amazing, with a thread of uncertainty and questioning about how our lives develop and unfold. I was struck by how quickly I felt I knew the characters, but equally how they surprised me.

As brief as some of them are, the stories are built around tense plots that grabbed and held my attention.
