They think it's still a man's world. To them, we're pawns. Used for our lineage and reproductive systems. We're expected to stay silent. But it's us women who birth heirs and raise kings. We give life. And we most certainly can take it. They tried to dictate my life as if it weren't my own. But I carve my own path. Leaving a crimson trail behind me. Everyone knows that a woman who knows their worth is a dangerous woman. I don't need a title or throne to know that my blood is imperial. Add in scorned fragments and shards of betrayal. They didn't break me. They made me into a pretty little poison. I will always be seen as harmless. But even the devil has a pretty face.
What a rollar coaster of events, and I wish I could give it more stars, but the writing just didn't back up the emotions for me. The depth of anger didn't come across on the page. She tried to make it seem like the MFC was this big bad ass but really, she was ultimately dominated by the male every time. The whole book just didn't sit right with me, and the writing just felt very flat. Just words on a page.
✩✩✩.5 🌶️🌶️.5 ~ Doll’s Eye is a dual POV book where we follow the relationship between Alessia & Massimo. ~ Alessia is the most feisty FMC I have read in a long time! She has bigger balls than the majority of men from the get go and only gets stronger as the story goes on. She is the epitome of “Black Cat FMC” 🐈⬛ ~ Massimo is an Alpha male, demanding respect and obedience from the moment you are introduced to him, causing the battle of dominance to continue throughout. Their battle against their feelings, themselves and each other keeps for an interesting read 💋 ~ It has a hint of slow burn feeling when you start but when the intensity starts to burn it burns BRIGHT! 🔥
-First off I feel bad for not liking this book. I met the author and she was the sweetest woman ever.
-The plot is great, until about halfway through. It's supposed to be about this badass woman born into a Mafia family. She is great and powerful but the thing is SHE ISN'T. Throughout the book all she talks about is being a woman with no power. It's not like she even gets the power she deserves.
-The MMC, Massimo, is just a meathead with no depth at ALL. He claims he loves her and then he continues to try to overpower her. I'm not just talking about in the bedroom.
"I'll find someone eventually to give me an heir or two, but never a wife. Alessia Bonetti was it for me" He then chooses to "send her away" knowing that she would never talk to him again, because it is too dangerous for her.... she has killed so many people. THEN THE AUTHOR LETS HER LEAVE? She never even got the chance to be badass because she was too busy trying to be strong even though she was continuously being controlled by the men in the book.
Nothing was left up to her to choose. Every step she took in the book, she had to ask a man for permission.
"But it's us women who birth heirs and raise kings. We give life. We most certainly can take it" But then she just continues to be bossed around by her brothers and Massimo the whole book!
Either way, she has an "arranged marriage" to Massimo. She falls in love with him. He falls in love with her crazy and rebellious side, even though he continues to control her.
Around the end of the book she refuses to take him back. HE LOCKS HER IN A CELL AND BASICALLY GR*PES HER It might be cnc because she was saying she liked in IN HER HEAD. HE DIDN'T KNOW IT. HE JUST KEPT GOING WHEN SHE WAS CUSSING AT HIM.
Conclusion: I think some of the main points the author tries to portray in book, was not executed right. I get that people want a darl, strong-willed Mafia man, but seeing as she was trying to get the "powerful Mafia woman" point across, I don't think it was that successful.
In this gripping tale of love, loyalty, and danger, Alessia and Massimo are two people both born into mafia families, bound together by an arranged marriage that neither asked for. The story brilliantly captures the tension and allure of their world, but it’s Alessia who truly stands out as an exceptional character.
Most FMC in mafia series are helpless and timid, but NOT Alessia! Alessia is far from the typical damsel in distress often seen in stories set in the mafia underworld. She is a strikingly well-written female lead, embodying a blend of intelligence, strength, and undeniable beauty that makes her both a formidable force and an unforgettable character.
The chemistry between Alessia and Massimo is electric ⚡️⚡️as their relationship evolves from one of obligation to something deeper and spicier🌶🌶🌶. Massimo, while powerful and intimidating, meets his match in Alessia, who challenges him in ways he never expected. Their dynamic is a perfect blend of tension, passion, and mutual respect, making their story both intense and satisfying. I loved this story and can't wait for Book 2!!
Spice 🌶🌶🌶.5/5 Plot 3.5/5 Characters 4/5
The story does contain some graphic scenes, so please read any trigger warnings. This is a mafia story.
When I say that I read this book from start to finish in one session, the two main characters are solely to blame. I am a sucker for a stubborn, ruthless, doesn't know when to quit FMC, so if that is your jam, that is who you will find in this book.
Forced to constantly prove herself in a male-dominated world, Alessia is one of the most relentless FMCs I have ever had the pleasure of reading. It isn't always for her best, but I'd rather have a no-holds-barred character than a pushover. At times she truly became the embodiment of her nickname, "little psycho," and I gobbled every moment of it with a grin on my face.
On the other hand, Massimo, the MMC, is just as hard-headed as she is. This dynamic draws out their best and worst qualities, eliciting a very powerful battle between the two. The tension in this book is palpable on nearly every page.
Highly recommend it for those looking for a new mafia series to devour. I am really excited to see where this series goes next.
Honestly I couldn’t put this book down read it in a day….literally. I adore a good mafia romance and this did not disappoint I also love a good strong fmc and again did not disappoint. Even if she was an overprotected girl she grew to be a strong woman who took her own life into her own hands and showed them she wasn’t just a pretty face loved this for her especially the twists and eyebrows hitting hairline moments. I hate giving anything away during a review mainly like giving how it made me feel. Action? Yes. Spice? Yes. Touch her and die? Yes. Strong fmc? Yes. Single love interest? Yes. Hea? Yes but it’s a mafia romance so….. Read it !! It’s a good book promise.
Everything about Alessia made me smile. How strong she was, vibrant, and independent. She was very much family driven and was willing to do what it took to show her family she was more than just a mob princess - that she was a Queen.
Massimo was everything a morally grey character should be. Strong, gave a lot of MINE vibes and made it very very intense in his interactions with Alessia.
I read the men of Mafia but now I’m happy to see the WOMEN come to life.

I love a good mafia romance. I love Alessia. She's strong, takes no crap, and pycho (lol). Seriously, I loved her character so much. Mafia is so strong on the females being docile and kept out of everything, so it was refreshing for her character to be so involved in things. Massimo from the beginning had me hooked. The man is protective, fierce, kinky, and so in love with Alessia. He never wanted her to change. I loved that for her. The storyline was really good. I loved all the side characters. I'm excited for the next book in this series.
Read your triggers people!!!! But if you're reading Ms Stasia Mars you already know!!! Alessia is a baaaddazzzz!!! And her Massimo takes no prisoners, especially when it comes to his Reina! This roller coaster will have you gripping your pearls and your sheets! When Alessia flips the script of a betrothed Mafia princess and doesn't bow down to the men in her life yhe men are left spinning, and proud!
Absolutely loved this. It was hot, kept me on the edge of my seat and not know what would happen. I adored Alessia and her strength as well as Massimo for giving her the power she needed but still protecting her.
I Absolutely loved this book. I couldn't access the extra chapters with the qr code, but hopefully there will be another book with Tullio and Sarita.
4.5 Stars Pub Date: August 20th, 2024 Format:Digital/Kindle I really liked this one! Read this in one sitting which was surprising. Lots of tension, spicy and lots of action. I really loved Alessia and her strong personality. Enemies to lovers, arranged marriage are the tropes. Very fun and entertaining read.
Bad writing. Reads like wattpad / inexperienced writer. I like the concept but I can't suffer through 365 pages of bad writing. DNF 12%. Oh and both families traffic people, that's a hard no line for me.
Love love love! The FMC is stubborn and hardheaded and determined and I love it! I love the story! I love everything so much I was smiling and giggling the whole time.
The book was everything I hoped for—fast-paced action, packed with tension, and extra spicy. The mafia backdrop and arranged marriage made for a thrilling ride. My only real issue was that I felt the hero could have given the heroine more control by the end. She was such a badass, and it seemed like he diminished her strength a bit, even though she deserved to have more power, especially in a mafia world. That being said, I loved the side characters, and I can definitely see potential for more books in this world. Masimo was fantastic—he was written so well, and I couldn’t get enough of him! action, packed with tension, and extra spicy. The mafia backdrop and arranged marriage made for a thrilling ride. Mind blown. I wasn’t sure how I would like a lead female mafia chick story but this book had me guessing at each chapter. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen next. NOPE SHOCKED THE WHOLE BOOK. Will definitely read again. I need more please
