I am DNFing this at 55%. If this is your first financial literacy or wealth growing read, this is fabulous! If you’re like me and are tabbed into a lot of financial literacy media/podcasts/books/etc. this is a lot of the same information you already know. It’s valuable and definitely a really great resource but it wasn’t anything groundbreaking. I do recommend if it’s your first step into this genre, but if you’re well versed you won’t find anything new here.

I really enjoyed this book—it felt practical, relatable, and genuinely motivating.
What stood out most to me was how honest it was about the realities of building wealth. It didn’t present a perfect, polished path—instead, it acknowledged overspending, mistakes, and the learning curve that comes with managing money in real life. That honesty made the advice feel much more attainable and grounded compared to other financial books that can feel overly theoretical or disconnected.
I also loved the core message that you can come from anywhere, start at any point, and still make meaningful progress. That mindset is so empowering. The emphasis on dreaming big and going after ambitious goals really resonated with me and made the book feel both inspiring and actionable.
This is definitely a book I’ll be coming back to. It feels like the kind of resource you can revisit to spark new ideas and stay aligned with your financial goals.

Another incredible, informative and practical book from CGF!
I have been a big fan of Clever Girl Finance for years and this book is simply the icing on top of a spreader pretty incredible multiple tiered cake!
It is full of great advice with plenty of fun analogies and examples (both good and bad - she’s not afraid to own her financial mistakes!) from the author scattered throughout. Every chapter ends with a “Take Action” section which helps you take practical steps towards working on the topic covered in that chapter. For the first time in a long time, I have written down financial goals again and feel excited because as Bola stresses a lot, it is never too late to start and the best place to start is exactly where you are! Here’s to book #7!

How I Read It:📱
This was my first Clever Girl book, and I really liked it! It was realistic and motivational and had a lot of good information packed in it, with small steps getting you to your ultimate goal. I appreciate the author telling us what she invests in, I added her investments into a watchlist on my investment app, and I like how she plays it safe with her stock picks and discusses day trading, which can be frustrating and a gamble. While I don’t see myself investing in real estate, she does cover entrepreneurship as a way to make additional money as well, which I appreciated, given that I have a few side hustles.

There are several thousand of these faux-feminist financial books out there, every single one of which says the exact says things in the exact same "I'm sharing little-known secrets because I'm such a good person" tone while exhibiting the exact same flaws.
Yes, girl, I too could be a millionaire if my employer matched my retirement savings, paid for my lunches, and paid me enough money for me to have rental properties. You are not special, you just work in tech. Us teachers don't have all the cushy benefits of your job, which seems to consist of telling people you lived below your means on the same page of the book in which you tell us you spend every raise on multiple Chanel purses.

This was just ok for me. While Sokunbi gave complete novices initial categories for building wealth, it didn't go much further than that. I think this book would be much better received by the audience it clearly addresses if it were to give actual instructions on how to go about some of these things. It needs a bit less of Sokunbi's personal life and more instruction, in my opinion.

I especially loved that the author narrated the audiobook herself. It made the experience feel much more personal and impactful, like hearing advice from someone who genuinely wants to see you succeed. Her narration was warm, engaging, and easy to follow.
