Would you like the long or the short version of my bio?

The short? You got it.

I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.

How was that?

A little more detail? Gotcha.

I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.

My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as it has a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.

Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.

This anthology features stories that are 100+ pages long so I'll be tracking them individually.

Muddy Love by Collette Davison: this was cute. It follows the trope of boy gets lost Daddy saves him. Basically we have Harris who is overworked and underpaid and goes on holiday and his car breaks down and the only help he can find is at the house he broke down in front of which just happens to be owned by hot hunky Daddy. The two end up spending Harris's holiday together and falling for each other. It's cute. Has the trope been overdone a little bit? Maybe. Did I still like it? Yes.

A babygirl for rogue by Siobhan smile: trans sapphic daddy story. Siobhan Smile stories are usually hit or miss and I'm happy to say this was a hit. It's got a trans woman babygirl and a nonbinary lesbian daddy. The romance itself was cute but where this story really shined was in the secondary characters and the individual character growth, which is impressive for a story just over 100 pages. Rogues parents were the best part for me. Their mama is trans and fat and their dad is this big biker guy who is just so in love and I didn't know I needed that dynamic but I want a book about just them now. Trinity thinks she's straight during the first half of this and is really confused by her attraction to the nonbinary club owner. I do wish we got a bit more about her own realization that she's queer in her sexuality as well as trans but I'm not mad about it. It was a win for me. I love trans people so much.

Daddy's Shining Star by TL Travis: I wanted to gouge my eyes out to stop reading this. It was too long, too boring, and too damn saccharine. I forgot how much I dislike this authors writing. The problem isn't the characters necessarily, they have potential, but there's absolutely no depth to them. Not a single interesting thing happens and I ended up skimmin the last part because I was bored out of my mind. The writing is just so choppy. The transitions suck and there's no flow. There's nothing really problematic about it it's just terrible writing. I'm glad to be done and hopefully will remember to skip this authors stories in the future.

Littles Market By the Sea by Ellie rose: sapphic.
This was very cute. It's also the longest story I've ever seen from Ellie Rose. I've read a lot of her stuffie hospital series and stopped because I was always frustrated by how short they were. She excels at writing diverse queer characters from a variety of gender and sexualities with a lot of her MCs being neurodiverse as well. I really appreciated that this story had the length it needed to showcase this queer couple. It's a lesbian daddy story with best friends to lovers. The romance was okay but my favorite part of the story was the emphasis on queer community and the inclusive of trans rights.

Spank by Nora Phoenix: this was pretty decent actually. There's an undercurrent of drama that you can tell is a lead to get readers to read the author's other series and I don't always like that but I'm not super mad at it. I think it's unnecessary drama but whatever. The couple is cute but I wanted a little more. There's a lot of "oh my God I love you I can't ever be without you" and that sort of codependency always reads cringey vs romantic to me. Either way, this was is solid and one of the better stories of the series.

The daddy he needs by Chara Croft: this is my favorite of the anthology and really has the best story, plot, and romance. It features a queer awakening and the kind of meet cute accidental meeting you only read about but I loved it.

*****************Update*************************

This is was a fun themed Anthology for Pride Month 2024 by The Dirty Daddy Bookclub. To say that this was good would be an understatement since everyone got to play in equal parts and all of the stories had an HEA.

The first book is the set is called Muddy Love by Colette Davison and I’d have to say my absolute favorite in the set. The story follows a man named Harris whose car breaks down on the way to his B&B. The man’s house he breaks down in front of Miles generously offers him a place to stay for the evening. He gives him the food and the couch and goes on about his evening. But Harris decides he wants to share his bed. One thing leads to another and it’s spanking, biting and a sexy encounter with a buff older veteran. Who happens to enjoy the fine line between pleasure and pain while being called Daddy. My favorite quote 🥲 because I like to tease.

Do you want to see it?” “Hmm, I’d like that, Daddy.” I pull my fingers free of his arse, release his wrists, and flip him onto his back. I kneel upright, hands on my hips, showing off my hard, leaking cock. He widens his eyes and almost goes cross-eyed. “Oh, Daddy, you’re huge. Six foot three and hung like a horse. My luck has changed.” I raise one eyebrow. “For the better?” “Definitely. Fuck me, Daddy. Please?” I lean down and kiss him. “With pleasure.”

Oh did I forget to mention they are from the UK 🇬🇧!!

Next story my second favorite 😍 A babygirl for Rogue- Siobhan Smile

Rogue has lived the party life for too long and it’s time to finally find her little girl. This story has a trans main character and a non-binary one. The dominance alone in this book is what ultimates wins over Rogue’s very shine new boo. It takes firm touch but they finally get what they want and need some of which is one their back !!!

A little 😈 teasing action the quote that literally was like yeah I’m gonna keep reading !!

"Fine. Rogue stroked their thumb across my lips and said, they'd fall to their knees to worship me with one little yes, Daddy from my perfect lips." "Um, ooooo-kay, and what happened after that? Did you throw yourself into the water and swim for shore?" I pushed against her chest as she laughed at my expense. "No, I didn't make a watery escape."

Isn’t it just fabulous so far ?!

The next one is Daddy’s Shining Star by TL Travis

It is a DDLG book with lots of little action and so much real love. When I say I swooning I swooned through every flipping page. Our Daddy has recently ended a really bad relationship as does our little Jamie. Both of these two angels were with the wrong partner and they begin to find true happiness together. There are some simple issues in the beginning struggling with lifestyle changes and finances. Those things easily changes because our lovely Daddy swoops in to save the day. Also, the scenes when they do happen are good!! Not so much on the page sex but lots of on the page intimacy which I just love!!

Sorry no teasing under here why haven’t you gone to just go purchase this yet?! I know you love it.
This anthology has 6 stories but I decided to highlight my absolute favorites!! When you get a chance go find out about the other stories they are

- Isla by Ellie Rose
- Spank by Nora Phoenix
- The Daddy he needs by Chara Croft

****RTC later today this took me several months and I’m sorry to say it’s because I was savoring it and decided I didn’t want it to end. Then I aggressively binge read it these last few days.**

Daddy’s Pride 2024

The dedication is touching:
Also-For Susie-For Always
We miss you

She sure was loved at Goodreads.

* Muddy Love-Colette Davison ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️
Older, military, handsome Daddy rescues a stranded Boy, who has been living a Cinderfella life with his horrible older brother, who is also his boss. I had a bit of reading whiplash that mild mannered and downtrodden Harris instantly becomes a dirty talking flirt after Miles gives him shelter at his cabin. Harris is aggressive and demanding in the sex scene, which was hot, but I was a bit ‘huh?’
It was insta calling each other ‘Daddy’ and ‘boy’, too. Maybe relationships DO move much faster in the Pride world, lol. The sex gets hotter and primal, the author writes a good scene! I liked their relationship growing within the interesting plot line about Miles trying to make a go of the land he has bought for an outdoor activity center. Harris is something of a talented ideas person and there are scenes of them envisioning and planning, along with some very well written romance and the sharing of honest hopes in a two person POV. This all leads to a lovely ending of a very good story. I really enjoyed this one.

* Daddy’s Shining Star-T.L. Travis ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I checked the author’s book list to see if I have read anything by them. I don’t want to critique this novella and then find that I loved something else by them, and perhaps this is a one off. I have not read them before.
I read reviews that were saying the books were full of telling and no showing. I’m glad that I wasn’t being too critical about what I was reading. There is too much telling and a lack of showing.
The writing went pell mell from scene to scene with very little detail or skipped details, e.g., Little Jamie got dressed for the Club in one of the outfits Daddy Timothy bought for him. There was zero description of the outfit and the scene jumped to they were in the club. In another scene, birthday boy Jamie gets a surprise stack of whipped cream covered pancakes. The next line says ‘after I blew out the candle…’
What candle? This is telling and not showing. There is so little description of almost everything. The Daddy is a veterinarian, barely mentioned and there is no scene at his clinic, yet Jamie is an animal lover. Jamie has worked for years in a store which closes down and it is said that he is sad. There are no scenes at the store and it, too, was barely mentioned in the narrative.
Daddy/boy writing needs to deliver what the reader is seeking. The dual POV writing was just skimming the surface with no depth.
It is good of authors to contribute to charitable causes.

* The Daddy He Needs-Chara Croft ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Chara writes a good story that delivers a solid MM romance. In this novella it is Daddy/boy mixed with BDSM lite, thank goodness for that. I liked the early on story premise of a misdirected text message from Owen to North. They start up a text conversation that is soon slipping into calling each other ‘Daddy’ and ‘Boy’ or sweet endearments. Owen is a put upon young man being taken advantage of by selfish roommates and overbearing, and, unseen, parents. He is trying so hard to keep afloat, literally, with a dying water heater. His unexpected text conversations with North are giving him comfort and happiness. For North, he can’t believe how this boy has come into his life, even though they won’t ever meet. Or, will they? A very good story that is loaded with hurt comfort, age gap, lots of caring and affection and the author’s trademark steamy sex. I enjoyed this contribution to the anthology.

The three other stories were DNF.
I don’t enjoy FF, FTM/MTF, or high protocol BDSM. That’s my personal preferences for romance and I’m sure these were well written contributions to the anthology.

The Daddy He Needs by Chara Croft
5 out of 5 stars

Chara Croft is one of my favorite authors in writing Daddy/boy romances. She definitely shines here.

Owen starts a text relationship with North after his friend texts the wrong number trying to find him a hookup. Unfortunately, Owen believes he is straight. That doesn’t stop him from calling North “Daddy” and seeking his advice on things. It soon evolves into an online Daddy/boy relationship. The texts were so stinking sweet and I love how Owen really did need North.

Once these two meet, it was everything. The chemistry was already there and then it just exploded. I cannot wait to read this one again!

I received an ARC from the author for my honest review

4 stars out of 5

Spank by Nora Phoenix

I really loved the idea of this story, but I think it was too short to pull it off successfully. I would have loved to have seen Brody and Josiah have a few more dates before the ghosting because it would have been a little more believable that both would be pining so much. But I loved these two a lot. It was spicy and caring and when Josiah started calling Brody ‘Daddy’, it turned into this sweet romance.

I received an ARC of the story “The Little’s Market by the Sea” by Ellie Rose. I loved this story! It is a sweet story about best friends who have always loved each other and never admitted it to themselves. It reminded me of aspects of my own relationship and also highlights several underrepresented aspects of both neurodiversity and queerness in a way that respects everyone. This author is extremely caring and authentic in their representations of the intersectionality of queerness and neurodiversity in their characters.

📜Interessante.

Daddy's Pride: LGTBQ Romance Daddy Anthology
Dirty Daddies 2024 Anthology Series - Book 1
Nora Phoenix, Ellie Rose, Siobhan Smile, Chara Croft, Colette Davison, TL Travis
4.5★ overall

The Little’s Market by the Sea - Ellie Rose
This was a sweet story about friends to lovers. Rachel works at Stuffie and her BFF, Isla has a brilliant idea for a new venture for a "Littles' Market by the Sea". We get introduced to a lot of new characters as well as visits from some old friends. This author has a great way of incorporating characters of both queerness and neurodiversity that are very natural while at the same time explaining some aspects that perhaps some readers might not know or understand. The underlying theme is love, in whatever form it may take...and these two are very much open and honest with one another. Okay... but not in my favorite running.

Muddy Love -Colette Davison
Harris is being taken advantage of at work, and the worst part of that is, it was by his very own brother. Finally, he breaks and decides to walk out and take a much-needed vacation. A wrong turn leads him to Miles, a retired military man and in Harris' eyes, the perfect "Daddy". He has to keep reminding himself that this is ONLY a vacation! I liked how they both gave a "needed something" that they both desperately needed. A really AWESOME ending. I actually cheered!! This was my absolutely #1 favorite.

A Babygirl for Rogue - Siobhan Smile
Trinty's visit to Club Q has her running into Rogue, the club owner. Trinty is a trans woman who is still getting used to who she is and has insecurities. Rogue is an enigma, open to their sexuality and looking for their "Babygirl" as a "Daddy". It was good how these two explored together and allowed themselves to be open to possibilities. The author didn't just make their love story perfect, there were fights and make ups and truth. I also loved how Rogue helped Trinty reconnect with her parents. This was my least favorite.

Daddy's Shining Star - TL Travis
Jamie's a sweet little boy who is looking for a Daddy who will stick around for the long term. When he meets Daddy Timothy, he calls him "Sad Daddy" and gives him a big hug. Jamie isn't a brat and enjoys "praise kink". But he also worries that he's too much and that's why he hasn't been able to keep a Daddy. This was my favorite of the stories. Even though it was insta-love, it was the sweetest love story. Ranked right up there for the Favorite slot.

Spark - Nora Phoenix
This quote from one of the secondary characters sums up how I feel about this story perfect, “I was determined to hate you, but now I can’t.” While visiting his friend Josiah goes to a club and meets Brody, who seems like the perfect guy. Then he proceeds to ghost him. I was prepared not to like anything about Brody at this point. But he does redeem himself and these two get their happiness in the end. I really love this author, but this one, while not at all bad, just lacked a bit of something for me.

The Daddy He Needs - Chara Croft
Owen is a sweet yet seemly straight college student who somehow texts the wrong number and accidentally "meets" his perfect Daddy, North. The text interchanges between these two and how they got to know one another was sweet and absolutely perfect. Both these characters with Owen's exploration as both a "boy" to his "Daddy" and also a man discovering his gayness for the first time was very well presented. A nice happy ever after ending.

The Little’s Market by the Sea by Ellie Rose
This was a sweet story about friends to lovers. The transition book to a new series, this is a spin off of Stuffie Hospital London. Rachel works at Stuffie and her BFF, Isla has a scathingly brilliant idea for a new venture for a Littles' Market by the Sea. We get introduced to a multitude of new characters as well as visits from some old friends. This author has a great way of incorporating characters of both queerness and neurodiversity that are very natural while at the same time explaining some aspects that perhaps some readers don't know or understand. I personally can say I've learned a lot. Nevertheless, the underlying theme is love, in whatever form and these two MCs are so open and honest with each other it just brought a smile to my face, especially their HEA. Great start to the new series and I'll be looking forward to more.

A wrong turn leads to Miles, a retired military man and in Harris' eyes, the perfect daddy. But this is only a vacation and can it work as a LDR? I love how they both give something to the other to help them both grow into the best they can be. Awesome HEA (I cheered).

Jamie isn't a brat and enjoys praise kink. But he also worries that he's too much and that's why he hasn't been able to keep a Daddy. This was probably one of my favorite stories. I just loved these two characters and even though it was insta-love, it was the sweetest love story I just couldn't stop smiling. Yum, Yum, Yum.

I enjoyed all of these stories, but I am reviewing five of them. If you enjoy this genre, then this is a book for you.

1. Muddy Love - Colette Davison
This was a really sweet romance, Harris’ brother is taking advantage of Harris in the workplace, demanding that he do more work than he was hired for and criticising him for not doing more and making him feel bad for saying no. That is until he gets up and walks out the door and tells his brother that he’s going on vacation and won’t be back until just over a week. Harris makes a wrong turn on his way to the B&B he booked into by the beach. He finds himself on a country road with a flat tyre and no petrol, he walks to a nearby house that is under refurbishment where he meets Miles, a retired army officer who is everything he wants in a Daddy. What started as a night crashing on the couch, turns into a happy ending.

2. A Babygirl for Rogue - Siobhan Smile
This was a cute story about Trinity who is a Trans woman who has moved away from home to attend college, but also to come out without the hassle of dealing without small town prejudice. When her best friend is on a date, she decides to go to Club Q and has a hook up but find herself upset when she’s left hanging. Rogue is the owner of the club and sees Trinity and is instantly attracted to her. Trinity has trouble coming to grips with her feelings, but eventually things work out and they go onto to be happily together for however long they are.

3. Daddy’s Shining Star - TL Travis
This was a really sweet story about Timothy, who is a Daddy but he doesn’t have a boy in his life. When he goes to the club, he meets Jamie who is a little boy in the age play scene. Jamie has had bad luck with men who have only stayed with him for up to two weeks at a time and doesn’t feel that he is worthy of a Daddy as good as Timothy, it takes time, but eventually they both work things out and go onto to have a happily ever after.

4. The Little’s Market by the Sea - Ellie Rose
If you enjoy ff romances, you will enjoy this story. Isla and Rachel have been friends since college days and now they are faced with a conundrum, they are both in love with each other, but they don’t know it. They had some challenges ahead of them, but eventually they sorted them out and went on to have a happily ever after.

5. Spank - Nora Phoenix
I enjoyed this story about Josiah, who is a submissive and desperately needs a Dom of his own. He watches his best friend Denali and his two partners and the relationship they have and wants that for himself. When Josiah visits Denali in New York, he takes him to a club where he is introduced to Brody who is a Dom. They hit it off, but then Brody leaves Josiah without any explanation. When Brody hears weeks later how his leaving Josiah has effected him, he travels to Chicago to explain his departure and why he did it. They work things out together and finally make their life together and have a happy relationship with a bright future together.

I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.

Muddy Love - Collette Davison - DNF Nothing wrong with it, but I just can't deal with the abusive family who basically force the one hero to work for nothing, etc. And no, nothing I've ever experienced. LOL It just doesn't appeal to me.

A Baby Girl for Rogue - Siobhan Smile - DNR (f/f)

Daddy's Shining Star - TL Travis - 3.5* A sweet story of what you'd expect. A little who was having trouble finding a daddy and a daddy whose last boy left him and he wasn't back in the game. This has characters from the author's other books for those who follow.

Isla - Ellie Rose - DNR (f/f)

Spank - Norah Phoenix - 3.5* - A story of Josiah who comes to Brooklyn to visit his friend Denali and his daddies (I assume from another book). He's having trouble finding a daddy in Chicago but at the club meets some in NY. After a week they decide Brody basicallly ghosts him. When he finds out Josiah is a basket case in Chicago he goes to tell the truth of why he did it and they get back together.

The Daddy He Needs - Chara Croft - 4* - I really liked how this used texting to build the relationship before they even met, even though Owen is "straight", he's a bit of a rambling bumbling mass of nerves with some pretty shitty parents. He leans on North to help him through things and when he finally clues in they are in the same city and North comes to his aid, Owen has to figure out if he's really as straight as he though. I have a soft-spot for boys like Owen and North was a genuinely nice guy who was willing to just be a friend if that's what it came to. So it was sweet. I would have liked to see another chapter dealing with the reaction of Owen's roommates and his parents to his relationship, but it was my favourite of the stories.

The Daddy He Needs by Chara Croft (5/5 stars)

I am a hopeless addict for anything and everything Chara Croft writes, and Owen and North's story was another deliciously steamy treat. I loved the concept of a wrong number texting mixup turning into a love connection, and I was so charmed by the way Owen and North interacted with each other. Owen was such an adorably earnest and sweet boy, even when he didn't know he wanted to be a good boy, and his text exchanges with Daddy melted my heart into a giant puddle. North was the perfect blend of reassuring, caretaking, and protective, and even though he tried to pretend like Owen was just a friend he was a total goner for him before they even met in person. Owen may not have recognized the feelings building inside him as quickly, but when an emergency happened and he needed his Daddy's physical presence, their relationship clicked right into place. I must have swooned about a thousand times at the way Daddy North dropped everything to be there for his boy, and somehow in person the two of them were even cuter and more perfect than via text. I had hearts in my eyes for the whole second half of their story, and between the wholesome beagle storyline, delightfully steamy explorations, and angst-free relationship growth, I was riding a massive wave of dopamine all the way to the happily ever after.

REVIEW FOR “The Daddy he needs” by Chara Croft, not for the whole collection

I’m not a fan of anthologies because it’s always a mix in term of quality so I’ll be honest and say I only got this one because of this author. I’ve loved all her other daddy stories so I didn’t hesitate for a chance to get one of her new sweet Daddy/boy romance. And as I imagined it was as lovely as her other books. I had such a great time with Owen and North. Their meet cute was perfect, Owen was adorable, and North was such a patient daddy. I loved that he was willing to be Owen’s daddy even without anything romantic if it was all he could have.

I’ll probably read Colette’s story as well in the future as I have loved her books too but the other ones don’t interest me.

Note for the publisher: it would be good to have blurbs for each stories somewhere since there’s nothing on Amazon or inside the book. The only way I managed to get what each story was about was through people’s reviews here and that’s not a great way to bring readers. Especially since this is not even on KU. If it was not because I got C.Croft’s blurb for her story through her newsletter I wouldn’t have looked at this book on amazon.

The Amazon description just says that:
“His good boy. Her naughty girl. Their happily ever after.

Yes, Daddy. Two little words that can send shivers of need and fear up the spine of any girl… or boy.

Because for these Daddies, love knows no limits…and love always wins.”

**This post has two reviews from this anthology**
This is a review for Chara Croft's story called "A Daddy He Needs". I absolutely fell in love with Owen! He’s trying so hard to stay on top of everything in his life, but sometimes it’s just overwhelming. When a friend uses his phone to try and “help him out”, things go comically wrong. North never expected to get an awkwardly random text message from a supposedly “bad boy” needing a spanking but it soon turned out to be just what he was looking for. While trying to apologize for the aforementioned text, Owen begins a rapport with a man who slowly makes him realize he IS a good boy, but just needs a little love and support to realize it. This book had me smiling and giggling with how sweet Owen was and how North would take whatever he could get just to be in Owen’s orbit.
This is a review for Colette Davison’s story “Muddy Love”. This story was sweet and sexy. Harris and Miles meet due to Harris having a string of bad luck which conveniently lands him on Miles’ doorstep. There is mutual attraction from first glance and it only gets stronger as the night goes on. What should have been just a helpful overnight stay turns into a delicious romp of seduction and strategy, lasting several days. The chemistry between Miles and Harris is comfortable and extremely satisfying. What I loved most about this book was how easy it was for them to work together to create a life where they both got what they deserved.

This review is incomplete, as I only had access to two of the six stories before release, but since this is a book that I make sure I support every year, I will be adding the other reviews as soon as I devour my pre-ordered copy on my kindle...

What I will tell you kis that my sneak peek from TL Travis and Chara Croft were worth the purchase price of $3.99 USD before I even check out the other 4 stories, and I know that Nora Phoenix and Colette Davison write some darn steamy daddies. I am also intrigued by the fact that two of these authors are completely new to me - ooh, backlist books to add to my TBR?

Chara Croft's entry is a delicious story of a text gone astray and a bisexual awakening that builds slowly as these two men continue to talk, beyond their initial oops encounter. I love that Owen gets to explore what Daddy kink means to him at the same time he explores his newfound sexual interest in men, or one man in particular.

TL Travis's Daddy's Shiny Star is a lovely story about finding the right daddy - one who accepts you for who you are and of course lets you dip, dip, dip your dinner :) This book also featured characters from Two Daddies for Henry (which you don't have to have read... but will want to after you finish Owen's story.

Chara Croft
THE DADDY HE NEEDS (ARC)
I loved this one.
This story has one of the cutest "meet-cutes" ever.
I absolutely loved both characters right from the start.
This book has all the sweetness and fumbling, bumbling dialogue that Chara is known for, which is why I will read anything and everything she writes. I will always recommend this author to anyone who loves and craves a lighthearted, angst-free story about young, naive and clingy, needy boys. 😂 Just adorable.

As this story is a contribution to an anthology, it is naturally a quick read.
The story itself lends itself to a much bigger story. Hopefully, Chara will decide to extend this one into a fuller, more detailed book one day. I felt that she has laid the groundwork for this, but needed to wrap this up pretty abruptly, which left me feeling slightly unsatisfied with where it ended.
First and foremost, I really, really would have liked to see some come-uppance for Owen's parents. A serious confrontation would have been appreciated by the reader.
Maybe one day....

Steam level about 3 🔥 (only one open door scene)
First person, past tense, dual pov.
Very limited profanity and dirty talk.

Muddy Love by Colette Davison
Rating: 4
Steam: 3
PoV: dual, 1st person
Genre: contemporary romance novella, MM
Tropes / tags: small town, Daddy kink, former military

Muddy Love was a very sweet Daddy / boy novella!

Miles and Harris’s story started with Harris being stranded over a weekend at Miles house due to being lost and having some car troubles. They were both instantly attracted to each other and quickly ended up acting on it.

Harris had a toxic situation going on at work, and I loved seeing how Miles took care of him and valued his thoughts and opinions on his own business. They were really sweet together and what was only meant to be a weekend turned into more as both men were reluctant to let each other go. I liked the faster pace of this story, and even if these two started with insta-lust and sort of insta-love, they managed to turn it into a lasting relationship together.

These two easily found a dynamic that worked for them, and I loved the dirty talk and chemistry they had going on. It was overall a great and enjoyable story, with plenty of sweetness and steam!

The sweetest!!

Oh my gosh! I just can't even begin to express just how sweet and adorable Owen is! He's the best little that doesn't know he's a little. He has so much on his plate, between managing a household of rowdy college boys, taking classes, and trying to keep the house up and running with no assistance from anyone. He's overwhelmed and not in a good way.
When a mix-up of numbers leads him to text a daddy, he's embarrassed and doesn't know what to think. But then he finds a connection with Daddy even though they've never met.

When North receives the mystery text from a clearly intoxicated boy, he doesn't quite know what to think. But he's instantly enamored. When they develop a connection through texting without ever meeting, he finds himself more and more intrigued by the boy that he knows needs a daddy. When they finally meet, it's love at first sight for North. But Owen is straight. Right?

This is just an amazing story! I am so glad that I got the chance to advance read it. A daddy with eyes the color of magic, a boy who doesn't even know he's a boy, and the beagle that saved everyone- all together make one wonderful story.

Muddy Love by Colette Davison
A great daddy/boy fast paced romance that has Harris getting stuck in the middle of nowhere, luckily down the road from Miles's home. Even more lucky, the older man is gorgeous and a daddy, perfect for Harris!
Their attraction is clear and ignites almost straight away. Miles is determined to help Harris and has him to stay at his home but Harris is equally as stubborn and caring, helping Miles to get back to opening up his obstacle course, ensuring it's an inclusive and welcoming space for all. They still have plenty of time for the hot and heavy moments, strengthening their bond even though Harris is only around for a week.....
Extremely hot and a great romance to read, very well written as the physical and emotional relationship feels like it naturally develops at such a quick pace. Can't wait to get to the rest of the anthology, especially with such a fantastic group of authors taking part.
I received an ARC of this individual story and am happily giving a review.

I'm super excited for this anthology! It's always packed with amazing authors and super fun stories.

I read The Daddy He Needs by Chara Croft and North and Owen are super cute. Chara is the best as writing super sweet, anxious boys who just need a daddy to give them a confidence boost. It was sweet watching these communicate over texts until they finally get to meet. It's a little short, but nothing crazy and is definitely a well flushed out story. I will say that this is probably the tamest Chara Croft story that I've read and the kink is very minimal with just some sweet rules that North gives Owen. There's a bit of heat at the end, but I think the real treasure is in watching Owen become more confident in himself with North's encouragement. And if I could, I'd try to shake some sense into Owen's parents.

I had the pleasure of reading two if the stories in this anthology.

The Daddy he needs by Chara Croft

When a text sent to an incorrect number connects overwhelmed with life Owen and older North, a connection over text is formed before they met in person. The guidance and care that North provides for Owen allows for him to blossom and realise that maybe he is a boy who needs a Daddy.

This was an endearing read with well written characters and light on the steam

Muddy Love by Colette Davison

When Harris gets stranded in an unfamiliar place, it’s Miles who comes to his aid. The attraction is instant and as they spend time together they realise that they are able to help each other grow and flourish into the person they were meant to be.

This was a fast paced Daddy/boy read with scorching scenes woven into it.

Chara Croft’s contribution to this anthology, The Daddy He Needs, was everything I needed. Such a sweet story. Owen is adorable and should be protected at all costs. I liked how the relationship grew organically, nothing felt forced or rushed. I wouldn’t classify this as a slow burn but watching the relationship unfold through their texts had me anticipating their first face to face meeting. I truly felt for Owen and the burdens he was forced to carry and North made the perfect Daddy for him. My only regret is the story not being its own novel, I want more! And oh what wouldn’t I give to see North’s first meeting with Owen’s parents……
I highly recommend picking up this anthology for this story alone and can’t wait to read the rest of the stories.

The Daddy he Needs by Chara Croft

Gosh, this was everything I loved.

Owen is a fast overwhelmed needy boy, he doesn’t know yet, but after having contact with a stranger through messages he knows he needs a man like Daddy who calls him a good boy!

The man is helpful, kind, and structured, and makes Owen feel so good. Owen calls him even Daddy, like I said, natural!

It was a long time ago since North felt this way. The boy is everything he wants, he even calls him Daddy. Sadly their contact is only over the phone.

Until he gets a call, from Owen, he needs help…

Oh my goodness, if you’re looking for a feel-good story, stop right now.
The message communication was awesome!
If you’re familiar with this author you know you’ll get a fantastic read!

I received an ARC of 'The daddy he needs' by Chara Croft. I will add more reviews once I read the anthology as a whole.

I really loved this story; it gave me everything I could want in terms of building up their relationship based on a mistaken text message. Reading their messages and seeing how they got to know each other was great and I felt like I got such an insight into Owen and what he needed. North was kind, protective and when they did finally meet in person it just felt right for them to jump right in. I loved their chemistry together and there was a good mix of action and character development. I hope we get to read more with some of the other secondary characters introduced at some point too.

Overall, a brilliant mm romance that I'd definitely recommend.

Daddy’s Shiny Star by TL Travis

3.5 stars An okay book
Jamie meets a new Daddy at Cordes club as Timothy introduces himself.
Both Jamie and Timothy needed the right partners to play with.
A cute story for them as they learn about each other. Daddy Timothy quickly gets a new name which Little Jamie finds him in need of affection.
Jamie is in Little mode for the majority of the book with what he does and says, it took some time to get used to his behaviour. Although I was looking for the adult Jamie to show himself too, hans my rating.
This focuses on their daddy and little relationship rather than the daily lives activities in the novel. Other characters pop in from other books at important event for Jamie.

My review only refers to Chara Croft’s story, The Daddy He Needs.

I was thrilled to discover that Chara Croft had released a new story, especially since it has been quite some time since her last publication. The wait was definitely worthwhile. True to her style, the story is filled with heat, but this time the buildup is more gradual as the two main characters get to know each other through texts long before they meet in person. I appreciated how their relationship developed slowly, allowing a deep connection to form over time. The book is low on angst and simply a sweet, enjoyable read. I devoured it in one sitting and highly recommend it to both new and longtime fans of Ms. Croft.
