Infernal Covenant #4

L'amore è eterno se finisce all'Inferno (Patto infernale Vol. 4)

Rate this book

Personalmente, ho i miei dubbi.

I was very lucky to receive an advanced copy (ARC) of “All Hell that ends well”. I have been looking forward to this book for months after I binge read the first three in the series, so when I had the opportunity to read the advanced copy I jumped at the chance.

So excited to read the finale to Zoe and Azazel’s story, I picked it up straight away even though I was half way through another book.

I practically inhaled the book within two days, which is just a testament to the writing.

I’m a big fan of the genre anyway and I love anything with angels, demons and supernatural elements but the characters are superb, with fantastic dynamics and lots of character growth.

I’m not going to go into details as I don’t want to reveal any spoilers as it isn’t released until 24th Dec (I might do a longer review later) but it’s a great finale for a wonderful series.

Mutas has already said it’s the happily ever after for Zoe and Azazel and it doesn’t disappoint. And whilst I love a love story, I sometimes find the happy ever after to be cringy or too lovey dovey for my tastes (I know a lot of people love it, it’s just how I am) and I enjoy the lead up much more but I can honestly say that Mutas does it so well that it doesn’t feel like that. It’s not all of a sudden but it builds up, and the character development and dynamics are so good that it doesn’t feel like the happy ever after is being shoved at you in the final pages.

Everything about this book is about the journey to get to the happy ever after and it is done so well.

If you’ve read the first three then you definitely need to read this.

If you haven’t read the books before this one, you really need to. This book very much carries on from the cliffhanger of book three.

The whole series is great, and a really easy and fun read with lots of depth.

*ARC REVIEW* no spoilers

This book was a freaking roller coaster of emotions.
I cried and laughed only in the first 80 pages, the rest I will not even mention.. Nadine, you did it again! 🫠

I waited patiently for this book and it was totally worth it. The development of the characters, the new plottwists (which guuurll!), storytelling and worldbuilding were *chef’s kiss*. We really got our happy ending as promised and everything clicked like a puzzle. Some of the side characters grew on me like a fungus 🍄 & I cannot wait to read the spinoffs!! 😈

I‘m gonna miss Zoe and Azazel so much. ❤️‍🩹
They were one of my all time favorites book characters. Especially Zoe with her humor, clumsiness and squirrel brain. Maybe I liked her so much because I saw myself in certain aspects of her. The little nerd in me squealed everytime she did one of her bad jokes or just tried to survive in her clumsy way.

This saga is one of my top 3 and I will for sure re-read all books over and over again.

Therefore; if you like fantasy romance with the right amount of spicy and as extra topping humor - these books are made for you! 🖤

Thank you Nadine for creating these masterpieces.

There’s MORE?! I mean I ain’t mad but NOVEMBER?? How’s the time machine game going?

December 26, 2024
I just— I fucking love this so much. Lucifer was a guy I hated throughout this series. Despite all his faults (and there were a lot), his love for Lilith… I knew how much he loved her but I didn’t KNOW. Not really. Despite being a bad dude, his love really is selfless. Behold:

➡️“If I intend to whisk her away from the familiarity of her life to bring her back here, it will be in service to my own needs and wants—and in utter disregard of hers.”

➡️“I will not make her choose between a life on Earth with her family and friends and a life with me in Hell. That would be cruel, and I have never been cruel with her.”

➡️“To die for someone is easy. To kill for them, even easier. But can you live for someone? Can you forsake your privilege for someone? Are you willing to surrender your power, your might, your standing for the one you love?”

➡️“How shallow would be my devotion,” he said quietly, a rough note to his voice, “how hollow my profession of love, would I not be willing to sacrifice for her happiness, especially when that sacrifice is actually meaningful?”

I just— my heart. My fucking heart. We always see FMCs who achieve immortality so they can live happily ever after forever with the MMC but rarely so we see an MC gives up everything. We do see a little of that: Azazel gets it all and Lucy, well he’s the one who sacrifices but still.
This, friends, is how you write love. And not just Lucifer either. Azazel… my god how much he loves Zoe. They talked and discussed issues as equals and partners . They were there for each other emotionally.

The spicy scenes were spicing 🥵 There were four scenes and they didn’t take away from the story at all. After most of them, Az and Zoe had deep, meaningful conversations.

Finally, the dedication 🥹. I fucking love it so much. It made me tear up. There is a CW for suicidal ideation/attempt.

➡️ “And if you struggle with your mental health and thoughts of ending your life, please call one of the support hotlines below, or your country’s emergency number.

Know that you are precious, and your presence here is needed and wanted. Please stay.”

- Fuck. That last part has me tearing up again.

Anyway, a fantastic read! ❤️❤️

Really good!

I definitely enjoyed this series. I think the author writes beautifully and quite well. My only complaint would be that it went a bit long for me. Sorry! I think it should have been a trilogy but I understand she felt strongly that she needed the fourth book. I found myself skipping ahead to just the dialogue at times. Still I would definitely recommend this series! You’ll enjoy Zoe, she’s adorably funny!

* I received an ARC of this book* No Spoilers Review.

So a Human walked (dragged) into Hell after making a (unintentional) pact with a Demon... but hey that's life right?
Well it's Zoe's life and our heroine has had quite the ride thus far and afterlife in heaven as an angel is not her ending. The plan was to have a literal fall from grace into the safe arms of Azazel so she can enter hell to be a demon and have her happily ever after...

Human>Angel>Fallen Angel>Demon.
Simple right?

But Zoe is betrayed and is left battered and broken from her fall. She is dragged back to hell on the orders of Lucifer. Now facing captivity in hell under the Grand Poobah himself (heard this term on The Golden Girls).

Its beautifully organic. The story is rich in imagery told so well by Nadine that it never feels rushed hence why it was told in 4 books instead of 3. Quite simply because its quality story telling. Chock full of Zoe's hilarious humour, descriptive use of language and compelling world building and that's how the development of Zoe's story arc progresses.

Now that bedrock of a story has had me on a teetering edge of anxiety and hilarity. So moving on to her becoming the outcast human in hell to her ascension to an amnesiac Angel. Azazels love for Zoe has no bounds turning our heroine and her demon husband into the ultimate Romeo and Juliet.
Exceppppt... its way more funny, romantic and precarious than that story (I mean there is only so much thee and thou you can take and you need a darn thesaurus to understand). It's a real star-crossed lovers story. I mean literally up in the stars with fluffy clouds and Unicorns! (Less said about them the better) to the bowls of hell.

The dynamic of her life as a newly made demon in hell under Lucifer was gag worthy but the king of hell is not in a good way and he has a task for her. He wants her to use the gift of Lillith's essence Zoe was given before her brutal death to find Lillith's reincarnation on Earth.

The fact is Zoe is convinced it's not going to work. Her being back in hell let's us see characters we haven't seen since book 2. Namely Vengeance aka Venny and mephistopheles. Not going to lie I teared up. It was beautifully built up and her reunion with them was heartwarming but that was the appetiser that leads to the biggest payoff of Zoe and Azazel reunion. Trust me you will eat that up, chefs kiss. *winks to Lucifer*

I think that this book has payed off brilliantly and you get revelations, emotional ups and downs but the humour has been the best because its consistently through all the evolutions of Zoe's story. The separation of Zoe and Azazel also plays well in that the point of view chapters of Azazel reinforced the story because it provides crucial plot when they are kept apart.

I was especially entertained with Zoe's interaction with Lucifer, the air of menace juxtaposed with moments of humour and surprisingly empathy for Lucifer that I did not expect at all. Not going to lie the first meeting between Zoe and Lucifer in this book was so heartbreaking and I was in awe because it is so far away from their interactions in book 1 and 2.

All in all you get EVERYTHING you want and need in the story of Zoe and Azazel and so much more!

*PLUS* We also get to see Zoe's bestie Taylor and it's set up so that we WILL find out what has happened in the 8 years since we last saw her in book 2. Nadine has set that up so well that I am glad we will see get a novella of not just Taylor and Belial's hookup but we also will get a Naamah and Gabriel novella too. So it's not the end of the story... I mean this world that Nadine built is too good to end.

*5 Stars* Fantastically funny, heart-warming with twists and turns and a hellishy ever after... for now.

Thank you so much Nadine Mutas for sending me this ARC!

All’s Hell That Ends Well is the final book of Zoe and Azazel’s story and OMG I can’t believe it’s the end! I’ve loved these two since reading the first book over 4 years ago and this was such a perfect conclusion to a perfect series.

All’s Hell That Ends Well begins right where the previous book ended (and that was a brutal cliffhanger) and I was hooked since the first page, I loved coming back to this fascinating world the author created and seeing all the characters again. Zoe has come a long was from who she was at the beginning of her story and I absolutely loved seeing an even new version of her here, she truly shined in this book and became even more badass, she was an amazing FMC. Azazel continued to be a perfect MMC and partner for Zoe, he also grew quite a lot in this book and became who he truly was meant to be and the way he always supported Zoe and was willing to do anything for her was beautiful. Zoe and Azazel are an absolutely incredible couple and they truly showed it here, the way they could talk about anything and and respected each other’s decisions and always supported one another, after everything they went through it was amazing to see them finally be happy together and I loved all their scenes together, the cute ones, vulnerable, spicy, their banter and just everything about them. One of my biggest surprises of this book was how much I loved Zoe’s relationship with Lucifer here (and even Azazel’s with Lucifer), it was so much different than I expected but in the best way possible and dare I say Lucifer became one of my favorite characters in this series? I loved him here.

All’s Hell That Ends Well is a truly perfect conclusion to this incredible series, I laughed, I cried and I didn’t want to say goodbye to these characters, I hope to see them all again in Nadia’s next books. I definitely recommend this book and this whole series to everyone, it’s amazing.

Wow! What a journey! The story takes place just after the events of the previous book. What a cliffhanger it was! I was dying to read what happened next. I was easily immersed into the story and world again. It helps that I binged the previous book just yesterday and then binged this book today. Thank you holiday breaks. LOL

I enjoyed the fast paced story and the obstacles Zoe and Azazel had to overcome individually and together in this book. I really enjoyed how they developed and grew from the start of the series. The emotions I had for this book was all over the place. It had me chuckling, tensed up, and tearing up. We still get loads of fun steamy scenes and humor throughout the book. It was definitely a rollercoaster I would get on again!

Loved to see Venny and the Hellcats! We saw a dragon but wish I got to see more! I love dragons! lol Random thought, I had expected that the demon that Zoe saved in book 2 might have showed up in this book since he owed her his life but I guess not. I do wondered what happened to him.

I did not expect to find this Lucifer redeemable after everything he's done but I have been proven wrong! He actually grew on me. Like fungus. ;D I really loved how the characters get some form of closure with some of their storylines or relationships.

The climax of the story was enthralling and I found myself needing to find out what happens next. I found this book to be a complete and satisfying conclusion to the Zoe and Azazel's story. I am sad to leave these characters but looking forward to the next books from Nadine since they will still be some novellas in this world!

4.6 out of 5 rating for me!

(An ARC was provided for an honest review. I leave this review voluntarily.)

Did I know this book was going to be good? Of course. Did it exceed my already high expectations? Definitely.

When Nadine announced her previously planned trilogy would instead be a quartet, there were mixed feelings. Excitement to continue the Zoe & Azazel's story, but the understandable frustration & impatience of having to wait another year for the conclusion. But oh boy was it worth the wait. With this last installment being the second longest book, it's easy to see how much we would have missed out on had the story been wrapped up in just 3 books.

Zoe latest "evolution" sees all the humour, sarcasm & lovable clumsiness we've come to expect from our heroine now wrapped up in a badass package. While she may have changed physically, she still retains her very human heart and the love between Zoe & Azazel only continues to grow deeper.

Zoe's interactions with Lucifer made me actually laugh out loud, especially Zoe's frustration over her pop culture references being wasted on the devil.

I knew this book was going to make me cry, there is too much emotional connection been the characters not to, but it also make me laugh a lot. And there may have been one instance of kicking my feet in glee at a very pointed, iconic LOTR reference (IYKYK).

While I'm sad the series is over I take comfort in the knowledge the there are 2 planned novellas, so while Zoe & Azazel's story may be finished, it's hopefully not the last time we will see them.

This series is one of my top 5 favorite series. I was SO looking forward to this book but at the same time I did not want to see it end.

As I expected, this book had a lot of great spice, humor, angst, lots of feels, redemption stories, and resolution to the story. The world building was also excellent in this book as well as character development. We say so much growth in all of the characters and I like a few at the end of the book that I didn't at the beginning of the series.

After that cliffhanger from the last book, I was ready to dive into this book! From the beginning I was hooked. All the elements I spoke about above blended so well it cements Nadine Mutas as one of my favorite authors.

The character evolution of Zoe and Azazeal was so satisfying. They both grew throughout the series individually and as a couple. I'm so happy how the book ended and the state of their relationship.

The plot kept me guessing and kept me reading into early hours of the morning as I couldn't put it down. I read quickly but then by the time it was over I was so sad. This world, this couple, the characters have become dear to me.

If you love PNR with great amount of steam, humor, angst, lots of feelings, with great character and world building this book and series is for you.

All's Well that Ends Well by Nadine Mutas is the fourth and final book in the series and it was such a wonderful and suspenseful ride! The plot is fast paced, I could hardly let a breath before something else was going on. I loved the worldbuilding, which was very striking and impressive, and the arc of the story which has developed tremendously. Zoe and Azazel are wonderful characters. I always enjoy reading round and complex characters. Zoe, Azazel and Lucifer have developed so much since the beginning of the story. The story is very romantic, spicy and action-packed. It is totally unputdownable. It's unpredicatbility took my breath away and I can't recommend this book enough!

“He pinched the bridge of his nose and heaved a sigh. “How does he tolerate you?” “Azazel? Well, he tried to ignore me at first, but that didn’t go so well, and then I think he just kind of surrendered and let me grow on him. Like a fungus.”

“I do care for her.” Pausing for a beat, he bared his teeth in a grimace and muttered, “She did the fungus-growth thing on me, too.”

Let’s be clear, I love Lucifers character and fell in love with his storyline even more so in this book.

If you ever questioned reading this series, this book will reassure you that you absolutely made the right decision to read it.

Love

Finally, I love that she could finally see her parents, her best friend and all of her people she hold dear. Really a good ending to this series. I will miss them all. I loved the awkward hug with Lucifer. Real funny but really befitting of what relationship they have come to have as friends. I’m glad he said apologies to Azazel. That was unexpected even for me because of all the strife and toil it was for them to even reach this point. Happy for them to have this relationship. Happy for Lucifer to be able to see Lilith in her reecarnation. He seemed real happy to get to see the little girl. To have the prospect of falling in love again in a future.

Corro a leggere (a malincuore) l’ultimo…

"All's Hell That Ends Well" by Nadine Mutas completely blew me away and cemented itself as a perfect conclusion to the Infernal Covenant series. From start to finish, I was captivated by the seamless blend of romance, action, and humor that Mutas does so well.

The characters felt so real and relatable, with Zoe's evolution adding incredible depth to her dynamic with Azazel. I couldn’t get enough of the emotional intensity and the way their relationship unfolded throughout the story.

The plot was perfectly paced, packed with unexpected twists and turns that kept me hooked without ever spoiling the surprises. And Mutas’s writing—wow! It’s witty, poignant, and full of heart, making every page a joy to read.

This book left me deeply satisfied yet still wishing I could stay in this world a little longer. If you’re a fan of paranormal romance, you absolutely need to read this. It’s everything I could have hoped for and more!

Wow! Shook, the plot plotted. Just being able to craft such a story that held my interest and just the detail and the planning, how it all fell out… honestly, just how all the characters wrapped up was bittersweet, bc I hate to see the series end with their HEAs (forever haha) but wow this was so good. So glad I picked it up!!!

Also side note, the recap chapter at the beginning of each book is AMAZING!! Every series should have that tbh!

I was applying for an ARC and did get a early copy.
While the book is not out yet, I don't want to share to much.

But it's the best book of the series!

My favorite part were always the interactions with Zoe and Lucifer,
and in this book their is soooo much!
They are just funny together, I love it.

I will write more after the 24th.

An absolutely epic ending to an amazing series. There are a bunch of excellent twists to the story - stuff I did not see coming at all. It's steamy, funny (I laughed out loud several times), touching, and exciting all the way through. I'm sad the series is over, but glad that we're going to get some spinoff novellas. Yay! P.S. Pretty please, Nadine, can write one about Lucifer and Lilith too????

Awesome

Absolutely brilliant final book and ending to this story, so much happened and the ending felt right. I have loved this series so much and will definitely reread at some point. I am patiently 😁 waiting for the two novellas and secretly hoping they expand into full books.

È quasi doloroso salutare Azazel e Zoe... ♡
