After having a child with the boss of my organization, I took the first opportunity I got to run. When I found out that my mother had died, it was the perfect cover to keep prying eyes away from me. That is, until the devil dog’s motorcycle club shows up on my doorstep. What could possibly go wrong when it’s lead by my three childhood best friends?
Scarlet Riley writes romances with a bit of heart, a dash of heat and a whole lot of chaos - because what's love without a few bumps in the road along the way?
You can expect fiery heroines, morally dark heroes, and a touch of banter that will have you actually laughing out loud along the way.
Follow her for sneak peeks, character chaos, and maybe the occasional spoiler she couldn’t keep to herself.
I had very high hopes for this book and I knew very early on this wasn’t going to be good. There’s almost zero background because there’s lots of *secrets*. Which, if done correctly can play nicely into the plot and act as a twist. However, none of the secrets are actually revealed. There’s no story building. I feel like I missed a prequel? Again, I’m just VERY confused.
Did you know Sophia drives a Nova? You will. It’s mentioned no less than 60 times. And I know because I counted.
I really wanted to like this book, I was SO excited for my ARC, but the writing and slow burn just did it in for me. The writing was EXTREMELY descriptive, not the *good parts* either. It was the mundane just average actions of the characters that had me saying over and over again “okay, let’s move this along now”. There was no imagining or piecing it together by the reader, the author dictated every single feeling, emotion and action in black and white. I swore if I saw “smokey red hair” one more time, I would have thrown my kindle. The story itself was like a transcription of a Sons of Anarchy episode, but with a love triangle. I wanted to love this, so badly. I just couldn’t.
I really liked the promise of this book. I was really excited and curious of the storyline.
I loved the characters and their different relationships and personalities. I have high hopes for this being a reverse harem going forward, but right now it’s more like a love triangle. I can’t wait to see, and I enjoyed learning some of Sophia’s story and why she moved back. There are still many questions to be answered, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. It had action, spice, sweet moments, and difficult trauma. It ended on a cliffhanger, and I am anxious to see how it turns out 🥹
I went through book so fast it's that good Sophia she is my favorite fmc love her she is no damsel and she will correct you if you try mess with her she single mom with great brother nox her baby boy ace Tyler, ryder, griffin are childhood bestfriends. I love there bond with eachother no matter how much time has passed . She loves and cares deeply about her friends and family you mess with them be prepared to deal with Sophia I couldn't get enough of patch royalty I'm excited for book 2 .scarlet riley is one of my favorite authors she truly amazing I had no complaints on this I excited for her future books. You will understand once you read patch royalty especially at the end that is all I will say I don't want to spoil anything
A slow-burn MC Romance that leaves us with a cliffhanger.
Sophia, Tyler, Ryder and Griffin all grew up together. But life had Sophia parting ways from the trio. Years later she is back. With her brother, Lennox and her baby, Ace in tow. When the sound of motorcycles hits the air. Sophia is greeted by Tyler, Ryder and Griffin. The guys trying to pick up where they all left off. Sophia isn't wanting much to do with the MC anymore, but they won't hear it.
At times while reading the book, I thought it would turn into a Why Choose Romance. Instead, we got the MC President (Tyler) and the Vice President (Ryder) fighting over Sophia. Tyler and Sophia had a romantic past that he just can't let go of. While Ryder and Sophia are starting on the present.
Sophia suffers from panic attacks, which has her becoming an insomniac with the lack of sleep she gets. Her baby is plagued with nightmares from what he has witnessed so far in his little life. Sophia is stuck trying to hide from her past, only for it to find her. She'll do anything and everything to keep both her brother and son safe. Even if that means sacrificing herself.
Have you ever read a book and gotten antsy cause you could tell it was almost over? Like you either see the percentage on the Kindle or you feel the dwindling of pages on a physical book? That was this book. I kept getting so much anxiety as I realized this was gonna leave me on a huge cliffhanger. I loved this book so much! I can hardly believe it's a debut novel. When you read this you get a motorcycle club, a badass FMC, a cinnamon roll MMC, childhood best friends, a dark and broody leader, a single mom, a veteran, a mysterious and dark past, action, spice, romance, tears.... ok you get the point. This book had everything. I can't wait to read the next one when it releases. Until then, this will live rent-free in my brain. Seriously, I need to know what happens next!!!!!!!!
🚨 CLIFFHANGER WARNING 🚨 Sophia, Lennox and Ace find themselves back in her hometown and face to face with her best friends from her childhood. I’m wholeheartedly rooting for a why choose romance! As the story progresses you can see and feel the chemistry between Sophia, Tyler and Ryder with hints of Griffin included too. However, we have SO many unanswered questions! Who is “him”? Is it her dad or a battle buddy from the military? What happens next?!?! Is Phi okay? Where are Ace and Lennox? This book does end in a cliffhanger, for those who may not like that. 🏍️ MC 💪🏻 Strong FMC 🤞🏻 Best friends 🥰 Biker MMCs 4/5 spice 🌶️ 4/5 story 📚 4/5 stars ⭐️ 4/5 overall ✅
Good gods! I got to ARC read this book and I am so happy I did!
This is a must read for Contemporary Romance lovers who enjoy a bit of rough, tough, and tangled love with secrets, love triangles, and angst.
This book is chaotic, dark, intriguing, aggressive, and toyed with my emotions! It takes you on a wild ride of Sophia's life from page one. As the book goes on, you learn more about her, and get to see the POV's of a couple different characters, which honestly threw me, but I enjoyed it. I also enjoyed how Sophia grew as a character. BUT THAT ENDING!!! That ending will scar me until I can get to the next book!
I loved this book and can't wait for more of this series. Sophia and her son, along with her brother move back home after their mother's death and to get away from Sophia's boss. She wanted it to be a quiet move and no one to know but the motorcycle club, who has her childhood best friends, knows and they are to help her. Things go on between her and her best friends and you can feel the chemistry there and I was hoping she would choose one of them, I just won't tell you who. The motorcycle club are so close and love how they are there for each other and so protective. Even the mother of her best friends takes no shit from any of them. Thank you to the Publisher for the ebook to review.
This was an interesting storyline for a motorcycle club since it did not depict an individual who had no idea about the MC world, but a girl who grew up in the club and had her secrets since she left the area. As she is running from her past and doing her best to protect herself, her child, and her brother, she also battles her feelings with her childhood friends who are deeply involved in the MC. The book ends with a cliffhanger that pushes the reader to want to read the next book as soon as possible. As with most other motorcycle club books, there is smut included, but it is primarily the build-up of sexual tension between characters.
This book wasn't what I was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised by all the twists and turns. The love triangle has me on edge. I'm team Ryder but at the same time I'm also on the why choose team too!! Ryder gets who she is now and Tyler is who she was back then! Ugh! I cannot wait for the second book to be released already!!! The ending is why?!?! I need to know what happens. I need to know what happens to Ace and Nox, who is HIM?? Is her dad secretly alive? Is it another guy she trusts from the military? So many unanswered questions!!!
Absolutely an amazing, thrilling read start to finish. I was hooked. Sophia is a strong, tough cookie and not scared to protect what's hers. The chemistry between the characters were off the charts. A strong start to a new series and I'm totally impressed with the writing style and pace especially this being her debut book. Definitely a series I'm going to follow. There might be some triggers for the more feint hearted. Congratulations Scarlet! I received an advanced review copy from the author and leave this review voluntary. Thank you so much ❤️
Patch Royalty is book 1 in The Devil Dogs MC series and is my first read by this author. This is one heckuva journey with Phi and her Devil Dogs family. This book ended on a cliffhanger which left me completely unsatisfied and in desperate need of more. There's so many unanswered questions and so much more about these characters that I want to know. This author has done a great job with her storytelling and bringing characters that readers that can easily fall in love with. I can't wait for book 2!
I enjoyed reading about Sophia in Patch Royalty. Once I started reading this book I didn't want to put it down. I wanted to keep reading to see what was going to happen next. The characters are great and the chemistry between them is spicy!! The storyline hooked me from the start. I don't want to spoil this book for anyone so I won't go into details. Please read the book blurb for some information about the book. I recommend reading this book! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I can't wait to read the next book!!
Okay so first of all I loved the book. Next Sophia’s character I love that she obviously has a lot of trauma, but she doesn’t allow it to consume her. She struggles but she doesn’t let destroy her. Especially being a mother. Tyler and Ryder I love that Ryder shows to be the sweet side and Tyler’s got alpha written all over him. (Don’t mind me rooting for Tyler though 🤫🤭) over all I love the book. Definitely had me hooked from the begging. Starting with the dedication now you have me hanging in the edge of my seat for the next book! Cant wait! I recommend this book!!! Completely! Great job!
This book just wasn’t for me. Although saying that I know others will love it. Some of the descriptions were too much and unnecessary. While times when things should be explained they weren’t. Also I spent most of the book confused on what was going on. I think this was leaning heavy of the sons of anarchy and not in the good way. I wanted to dnf it but pushed through hoping it would get better. In my opinion it didn’t. This was an arc read. I probably won’t leave my review on Amazon. Just because the book wasn’t for me doesn’t mean someone else won’t love it.
Motorcycle club, mystery, sort of a love triangle?, danger... This book certainly has all those things. However, I didn't feel this book has enough story to it. There is so much missing to make the story make sense. You never get any real information about what the FMC is running from or about her past. They never know what they are up against. The paternity question kind of flip flops. And as far as the love triangle, it's sort of unsure since there's some tension but never anything really. It has so much potential to be a really good story but it still has way too many gaps for me.
It's a motorbike club book that gives so much action and drama, past trauma, and paranoia. All of it is well-described and flawlessly portrayed. FMC was a strong single mother who went through a lot in her past and that made her paranoid. I loved how her bond grew with Ryder and Tyler. And the baby is the cutest. The last few chapters were intense and action-packed. I would love to read more. I was hooked. The spice was a bonus of course. Overall I loved the book and will definitely recommend this one to all.
I received this as an ARC!! HOLY CRAP I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS A DEBUT BOOK!!! THAT CLIFFHANGER!!!! Ugh this book was so amazing!! I AM LITERALLY IN TEARS CAUSE OF THAT ENDING!!
Sophia is an absolute BADASS AND NO DAMSEL!! I loved Sophia so much! I also loved that no matter what she would do anything for Ace (her son). I loved all of the MMCS especially Sophia brother Lennox; Tyler (Motorcycle Club President); and Ryder (Motorcycle Club VP).
I need to know what goes next between those three. It annoyed me a bit the teenage way Tyler manages the situation as he abuses his prez position to win Sophia from Ryder, and that pushes Ryder a lot on the background and makes him look useless. I hope they can keep working together and I need to see if that friendship snaps or consolidates in the end
Overall, I loved the story, the background, the characters, the action, and the drama. I did feel some parts were rushed and needed some more information it jumped. I did end up finishing it in one sitting because it was extremely entertaining and kept me enthralled. The cliffhanger at the end yeah it was gahhh but I will be back for book 2 when it comes out.
Omg! This book is a 5 star read but I just want to say that I am so mad it leaves on a cliff hanger and the next book won't come out for awhile! I was chosen to read this ARC and it was so emotional. Mind blowing. Phenomal. Such an amazing and traumatizing story. I honestly didn't know who i was rooting for more and I absoutley can not wait for the next book to come out!!!
Patch Royalty is not your average motorcycle club romance; it is a suspense romance about a single mom and what happens when everything she is running from comes back.
Sophia is our FMC, traveling back to her hometown after losing her mother. She wants a new beginning away from her present trauma, and this is the perfect getaway. Until, the local MC shows up at her door! What happens when her past and present collide?
This book had me at the edge of my seat! I was honestly here for the love triangle and loved every page! I am team Tyler all the way because I love the second chance trope. However, Ryder is such a cinnamon roll bad boy you can't help but fall in love with!
For a debut author, Scarlet Riley did an outstanding job hooking me and keeping me on edge. Between the eye rolls at Ryder, the swoon-worthy love triangle, and the nail-biting cliffhanger, this book deserves five stars. I can't wait for book two!
I received this book to give my honest review! And let me tell you this won’t disappoint you!! Motorcycle club romance, he falls first. I loved this and I’m hoping there is a book 2 very soon!! I love how Sophia has such a strong WMC! Who doesn’t love a bad bitch! This book does end on a cliff hanger so please be prepared!!!
Omg this book had me fighting to put it down! I literally loved every second of it and can not wait to find out what happenes because I am left hanging to a need to have answers!! The plot keeps you interested the entire book it doesn't have dull moments or waiting for the next pick up it just continues to flow in a way that keeps you engaged. I can not wait for the next part of this!!!
Patch Royalty by Scarlet Riley is an MC romance and the first book from "The Devil's Dogs Motorcycle Club" series. The author did a great job of describing the characters and bringing them to life on the pages. I loved the town that the story took place in. Devoured this book without pausing. Couldn’t put it down. Definitely recommend, but beware the big cliff!! I can't wait for the next book!
First let’s get the bad parts of this review over with. Too many questions left unanswered. I understand there’s a second book coming. But too many questions left unanswered always make me not want to read on. Other than that, it was a good book. Plot was good. Spice was meeeh. The drama/action was okay. I would’ve added more detail to make it more dark, but it was good. This is a 4 star read for me. I will read the second book, mainly to see who she chooses. And to make sure Ace and Lennox are okay.
🏍 ARC REVIEW 🪖 🚨CLIFFHANGER ENDING🚨 Started this book a few days ago and let me just tell ya. I did not think I would like it. 😐 Patch Royalty has a very strong FMC which I love. But then we have this love square going on. Broody she was mine first. 🔥 Loving golden retriever who finally makes a move. 😏😩 Then this b!tch of a baby daddy that no one wants around. 😒 Sophia is running from the devil. Doing what any single mom would do to keep her kid safe. Lennox is the ultimate brother 🙌 watching over his sister, nephew, and winging this crazy life thrown their way. Running back into the arms of her past only to get it ripped away from her when she's finely falling into something happy 😭 I thought this would be another MC romance but oof miss Scarley Riley you got me foaming at the mouth for the next book. PALEASE I need to know what goes down. Perfect amount of slow burn. Keep you on your toes excitement. Run for the hills if you piss them off attitude from all of our MCs. AND I AM LIVING FOR IT.

Patch Royalty is about Sophia coming back to her hometown after being away. She runs into her childhood friends that are now members of the MC. It has you on the edge of your seat waiting for book two. Great characters and world building.
This book follows a very strong FMC. Which I love. It also has a love triangle that is awesome. It definitely brings out all your emotions and leaves you with angst at the ending. I am definitely looking forward to book 2. This is a great read. The characters are well thought out.
