Elena Dawne returns with an exciting new release featuring an incredibly sweet and romantic hero who falls in love at first sight for his innocent but brazen and sassy heroine. Fans of the Spice in the Mountains series will remember Daryl Winters as one of the side characters in Mountain Daddy's Milk & Honeymoon and Red Flag Bull. I had been highly anticipating his book and it did not disappoint at all because it was both smutty and sweet. I fell for Daryl's romantic, caring, and protective nature even though he was seen as the devil in their small town. He stayed in that judgmental and backwards small town just for Cadence Malone—the love of his life. If I could describe Cadence in one word, it would be wildfire. She was a mix of innocence and daring simply because she took charge of her own sexuality and brazenly asked Daryl to help her. Cadence didn't let her circumstances deter her from finding her own happiness, especially her manipulative father and repressive neighbors. I loved that these two lonely characters were able to find each other. Their relationship was a combination of really sweet but also super spicy moments.
In the end, Daryl and Cadence's book was super fun and I enjoyed it immensely. If you are looking for a "he falls first" type of romance where the heroine is a combination of innocence and sassiness, especially when it comes to her desires look no further—this is the one. I really liked Cadence as a heroine but Daryl was my favorite character in the book. He loved her so selflessly and made sure to go along with whatever she wanted to do. He was absolutely a green flag hero. I also want to mention that you can read this book as a standalone. Overall, I highly recommend this series for its sweet and sexy romance with loveable characters and an "antagonist" you will want to slap. Elena Dawne simply excels at writing smut and Daryl's story had plenty of tropes that we know and love from her such as an age-gap romance, he falls first, forbidden love, and opposites attract. I can't wait to see what Elena Dawne has in store for us next!

In the end, Daryl and Cadence's book was super fun and I enjoyed it immensely. If you are looking for a "he falls first" type of romance where the heroine is a combination of innocence and sassiness, especially when it comes to her desires look no further—this is the one. I really liked Cadence as a heroine but Daryl was my favorite character in the book. He loved her so selflessly and made sure to go along with whatever she wanted to do. He was absolutely a green flag hero. I also want to mention that you can read this book as a standalone. Like the other books in Elena Dawne Spice in the Mountain Series, Peaches, and Cream has all the makings of a short and spicy story that checks all the boxes. Cadence is the town’s librarian, and Darly is known as the guy who gets around quite a bit. But come to find out, Darly is pretending and has been in love with Cadence—so much so that he’s been going to the library to check out romance books. Cadence's father causes many problems during the story, but there is a wonderful HEA for Cadence and Darly. There were lots of fun and steamy scenes in this one!

It's a steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, mutual pining, somewhat forbidden, curvy virgin gets her hunk smutty kinky romance. And it is SO good!! Elena does it again as she seamlessly blends sweet, smutty, romantic, and kinky all together for the story of Daryl and Cadence "Cady".
Daryl is a hunky silver-fox cowboy who was a rodeo rider and is now a wealthy philanthropist among many other things. He has an unfair reputation for being somewhat of a deviant pervert (he's not!)and is constantly ostracized. He stays in town purely due to his love for Cady, although he loves her from afar.
"She’s already given me more than I ever hoped to have — a ray of sunshine on every cloudy day. She’s proof there’s good in this world, and that’s all I need to know in order to survive it."
Cady is a 26-year-old curvy virgin with a narcissistic father, a catatonic mother, and romantic dreams that are being squashed by her controlling father. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, HER MOUNTAIN MAN BEAST has always been my favorite book by Elena, but Daryl and Cady just might tie Ash and Gussie.
I'm so in love with Daryl, he was so romantic, articulate, and completely filthy in how he loved Cady. And man did I love Cady's fire, sass, and self-confidence as she came out of her shell. Her dad was such a jerk.

I loved everything about this one. Their chemistry was insane, the smut was smutting, and the ending was so happy.

It was a good read. I really liked the other books in the series better. There was lots of heat and sexy times. The little virgin became an instant experienced woman in’s blink of an eye. It’s terrible what her father did to her. I kept thinking he had something to do with how her mother got hurt. Our hero was wonderful as usual and supported her throughout. Good read.

Cadence’s father is a real piece of work. He reminds me of my first husband, selfish with his time, money, and love—unless it’s someone other than wife or kids. Daryl is the complete opposite. He is giving, caring, and loving. His reputation is … both cringeworthy and intriguing. It’s only cringeworthy because sexual proclivities aren’t anyone’s business except the two (or 2+ lol) adults engaging in the acts.
Moving on …
‘Peaches and Cream’ was great. It was entertaining, while offering us lessons in things-aren’t-always-what-they-seem, check-your-skeletons-before-you-cast-theirs, and to-each-their-own, all wrapped up neatly in an engaging storyline.

She is the town librarian, and spends her off time at home caring for her invalid mother. She has been living a small life ever since her mother's accident, her father rarely home. She has secret fantasies, hopes to one day leave the small town, but it all seems so far away, until him. He is older, an ex rodeo cowboy, with a reputation for smutty love em and leave em dates with women. However that is not all that he is. Sure he has dated his fair share of women and he is not shy about being willing to explore his kinky side, but that doesn't mean he is ready for the one when he finds her, and he knows it is her. He has been content to just come in to the library every day to check out a book just to see her smile. But when she starts seeing him back, things switch up and neither of them will be the same. First of all I have to say that this author is the queen of girl next door, home grown, kinky smut....if that can even be a thing. The girl next door or town librarian can have desires and just as robust as the next gal. The author takes you on a wild romp, with the tight town, giving you a few footloose vibes. You see the girl waiting to bust out and the cowboy waiting to worship her and give her every single thing she desires. It is over the top, passionate, fun and a little campy. I think the moniker the town has labeled him with is my least favorite part, that just didn't land for me, but the rest of it is great. In a shorter story, you don't always get as much character development and frisky fun as the author gives you in this series. This is packed with it and I love how she balances the spice with humor and gives you the happiest happily ever afters... that are a little on the steamy side.

This was such a sweet, satisfying read. Soft, spicy comfort with just enough small-town tension to keep things interesting. There were definitely a few side characters I side-eyed hard (sir… relax 😒), but the MFC and MMC? Loved them down. Their connection felt genuine, tender, and earned—and I’m so glad they found their way to each other.
This book really shines in the quiet moments: longing looks, emotional restraint, chosen vulnerability, and that slow realization of “oh… this is my person.” It wasn’t just about desire—it was about being seen, chosen, and finally allowed to want more.
And now that I’ve reached this point in the series, I have only one request:
👉🏽 All characters. One secluded cabin in the woods. One unhinged weekend. A communal milking freak-fest. Healing. Bonding. Fun for all.
Don’t ask me questions. You know exactly what I mean. 😌🍑🥛
Highly recommend if you like sweet spice, found connection, and a series that makes you emotionally attached enough to start plotting chaotic crossover weekends.

Loved this book, loved this series.
If you are looking for a book that has the perfect mix of smut, drama and plot, look no further than Peaches and Cream. It is sweet and spicy, with great characters.
It was love at first sight when Daryl, the town deviant spots Cadence, the innocent town librarian that has been put in a virtuous box by her Father and the town folk, so Daryl has tried to keep his distance as much as he can, until Cadence shatters her box and ropes in Daryl.
Tropes including he falls first, age gap, more experienced MMC, innocent (mostly and not by choice) MFC, small town, opposites attract, forbidden love.
While Daryl is a side character in a few previous books of the series, Peaches and Cream could easily be read as a standalone (but I recommend all the books in the series).
I can't wait for the next Elena Dawne book.

An interesting storyline for Daryl
I have been reading these books since the beginning and enjoying the series and characters. This storyline was not my favorite unfortunately. I was disappointed that none of the previous characters/friends of Daryl were in the story. The gist of storylines is that Daryl lives in a small town because he found his one. However this town is judgmental against its own people and over half the book is about that. The lead female character, Cady, is drowning in guilt, shame, and is trying to get out from underneath it. Her father and the townspeople just continue to apply pressure on Cady. Daryl recognizes the abuse and feel obligated to help Cady; he also slowly build her up so that she can own her independence, intelligence, and choices. The last few chapters are a welcome embrace of Daryl and Cady being together. There is a happy ending. Read On!

We now have Daryl Winters’ story to be told, and I couldn’t help but cheer when he and Cadence dared to reach beyond the librarian/patron facade. Daryl has had his eye on her for so long, his highlight of the day being the thought-provoking banter they exchange while basking in her gorgeous orbit at the circulation desk. He becomes the total (and only) support, the cheerleader, the sensual teacher, the key to freeing her chains from a life she can no longer allow to continue, neither for herself nor her mother. He offers her everything she really needs, i.e. being put first and control in her life, and this was heartmending as well as heartmelding for this couple. All the degrees of temps were there: cold -> warm -> hot -> scorching -> and finally a rosy future for Darryl and Cadence. LOVED all the stories in this series, but this one in particular for me is the most hard-fought and triumphant installment 💝

(It can be read as a standalone...all of Elena's Books are fun to enjoy. 😏) This book follows Cadence & Daryl that have very distinct reputations in their small town. Daryl happily earned his by his ƙïnƙs, while Cadence has been given hers by her narcissistic dad. Their story is a delicious ägë-gäp, he-fell-first, supportive protector, she-also-fights-for-herself romance with a lot of ƙïnƙƴ wïckëd-gööd tïmëṣ & ṣëx. 🥵🔥💋 Plus Elena adds a ton of emotion in this story with us learning Daryl's backstory and everything that is going on with Cadence. I love how Cadence flirts with Daryl by sharing her romance ṣmüṭ books at the library for him to check out. Daryl's steadfast support, protectiveness and teaching to Cadence is sexy A.F. These two are beautiful together! 🥰

TROPES: age gap, virgin fmc, mormon?
What is this???? This is spicy if you're a prude. The reason the mmc is "untouchable" is because he likes anal??? What in the Christianity is that? The fmc dresses like a jehovahs witness, but apparently, that turns him on? This small town is obsessed with her purity for some fucking reason so she's a 26(?) year old virgin because no man can talk to her without someone intervening. I had to DNF this. The mmc has also been in love with her for 2 years prior to actually getting to know her? Again, wtf? And how tf did she randomly start a sexual conversation from an interaction at a library that wasn't inherently sexual. It was way out of left field and she's all of a sudden "Are you going to fuck me or not?" Like ???? What???

Thanks to Elena Dawne for the review copy, this is my honest review.
This was a fluffy read romance wise, they wanted each other, he wanted her for longer, secretly pining away and borrowing dry books (literally) just to see her at the library. The emotional side was heavier with the heroine being the sole caretaker for her mum with a neglectful and coercive controlling father.
Overall a beautiful story of two people who see each other for who they are doing lots of butt stuff. It's got the classic Elena Dawne hilarity that had me cackling.

Cadence (Cady) and Daryl...a seemingly mismatched pair, that actually may end up being exactly what each other need.
Age gap, forbidden, small minded/small town, kink, romance story.
I loved the empowerment she feels. I hate that this is a reality for anyone but I know it is (her situation), and also how they treat Daryl, he is very misunderstood in this community and many assumptions that he's a bad person.
I'd call this a romance with elements of comedy mixed with steamy scenes.

Cadence (Cady) and Daryl...a seemingly mismatched pair, that actually may end up being exactly what each other need.
Age gap, forbidden, small minded/small town, kink, romance story.
I loved the empowerment she feels. I hate that this is a reality for anyone but I know it is (her situation), and also how they treat Daryl, he is very misunderstood in this community and many assumptions that he's a bad person.
I'd call this a romance with elements of comedy mixed with steamy scenes.

I didn’t come into this book expecting great literature, so the two stars aren’t for the lack of plot or the writing quality (although the excessive inner monologues at the beginning and the way it was mentioned 1,000 times how hard Cadence had it was tough to get through).
No, do you know what I was expecting from this book? For it to deliver on the peaches in its title. For Daryl to live up to his name around town. But we didn’t get that until the very end of the book! What an absolute letdown.

Cadence is a young woman living in a small town with an overbearing father. There's an older man named Daryl, a cowboy, that she has her eye on. He notices her first and comes in frequently to the library where she works, just to see her. When she starts to notice him back things start getting good. This was a fun story with some spice. And it was great seeing Cadence escape from under her father's thumb.

surprisingly I was looking forward to this one a lot more than the book before it, but I was a little let down. don't get me wrong this is sweet and a little kinky, but for Daryl, I thought it would be crazier. Cady and Daryl are really cute together and it's still a fun sexy smutty book when the mood hits.

Omg I don’t know what I expected from Daryl but that was hands down the sweetest and dirtiest book!! lol I loved watching caydence grown into her own with him at her back. Loved that she made all the choices and fought for what she wanted!! 5 stars!!

Cady discovered her groove!
This seemed like it would be just a smutathon but there were some serious issues in there actually!
I’m glad Cady got her happy ending and resolved her family issues and more importantly discovered that she actually deserves to be happy!
