The Dragon Overlords #6

Fated to the Grumpy Dragon

Rate this book
I ran when the dragons attacked, only to end up in a bad place.

So I tried to run again.

This time, I somehow ended up dumped on the shores of the Dragon Isles, with no memory of how I got there, and only the word of an angry but handsome dragon-man to say that I volunteered. As if.

I can't leave, but I can't stay. The dragons ruined my life once before.

I won't let this one do it again.

No matter how much my stomach ties itself into knots when he comes near.

Riley is one of those early-morning people you love to hate, because she swears she doesn't need caffeine, even though the coffee-maker is connected to her smartphone. She lives in a three-story townhouse by the good graces of a tabby-cat who rules the house, the couch, the table, well, basically everywhere. When she's not groveling for forgiveness for neglecting to pet her kitty enough, Riley is strapped in to her writing chair coming up with crazy worlds where she can make her own decisions of when feeding time is and how much coffee can be drank without her friends--of which she has three--holding yet another intervention that they threaten to post on the internet.

Fated to the Grumpy Dragon is book six in the sexy series The Dragon Overlords but let me just say I do not like the male on this cover his face is terrible.

The series follows a war where many lives are lost humans and dragons. now as a peace treaty, humans must provide women to find their fated mates with the dragons. They are supposed to be volunteers but the human government use less-than-savory threats to make them comply.

The story is interesting as humans and dragons navigate their way through relationships neither are sure about.

Love, loss and remembering

I enjoyed this dragon-human romance with a side of amnesia. The story sucked me right in and it was hard to put down. It had a good mix of humor, love, real life issues, painful pasts, cultural/species differences, intrigue, danger, loyalty, and spice. Rhyse is a dragon who stayed on the Dragon Isles doing something for the sovereign during the dragon-human war. The terms of the cease fire included the requirement of eight human women to volunteer every year to serve as dragon mates. Emma is a human woman who volunteered but after being chosen by Rhyse, she starts suffering from amnesia and cannot remember the last year which includes the dragon war and volunteering as a mate. Things become more complicated when Rhyse bonds with Emma with her dubious consent in order to save her life. There is a lot against a successful forever relationship between Rhyse and Emma including her amnesia and a political dragon enemy. To get to their HEA, they’ll need to be honest and to learn to trust each other while trying to unpack their own baggage and wade through the prejudice, politics and backstabbing of dragon society. The story was well written and included engaging dialogue, good world building, three dimensional characters, and an interesting storyline. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

He places a scales over the holes cause by the harpoon it adheres to her skin and saves her life but it also does something else she can feel his emotions he can feel hers. Loving this Series More and More !!

I'm totally loving this series more and more with each new book !! The characters are absolutely wonderful and the plots are great. Each book is very well written. The underlying mystery of who actually started the war is starting to emerge and what will the sovereign do when and if she discovers the the women were never actually willing volunteers but were forced to volunteer to go to the Dragon Isles. Each book grabs my attention and doesn't let go until the end when I'm forced to put the book down. Any book by this author is a great way to escape for a while and I highly recommend them. I Read an Advanced e-copy and am Voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.

The sovereign said this was his new mission. A woman who just seemed to develop amnesia. A volunteer to help broker peace between humans and dragons. A dragon called Rhyse is told by the sovereign to care for the human. Emma has lost all of her memories, and when she finds out that Rhyse is a dragon, she freaks out. What is going to happen between these two? And I loved the dialogue between them.

Damn this woman can write!! I have yet to be disappointed! I cannot stop turning the pages!! One after another until I am Salvitating for the next book. Even had a time or two I should stop reading and literally couldn't. Yes You should read her series! Each and every book gets better and better!

Over the top

This was so over the top with all the emotional extremes see-sawing all over the place. Like the characters and story ok, but don't really get how Rhyse fell for Emma unless it was through subtle stuff in the bond. Yeah her memory issues were intense, but they also defined her almost entirely and didn't leave much character in their wake.

Brilliant Series

Fated to the Grumpy Dragon (The Dragon Overlords Book 6) by Riley Storm. Emma woke up on a beach, not having any memory of how she got there with a giant of a man standing over her. Rhyse has picked her to be his mate. There are a near death instance, many fights verbal and physical before they find the love for each other.

too much

Most of this book involves two people who are too wounded to trust and too defensive. And since both of them believe the best defense is a good offense, they lash out with sarcasm, insults, and righteous anger. This version of the Bickersons is a most unattractive couple.

Rhyse is assigned to care for Emma

Rhyse was undercover during the war. The truce found him responsible for one of the humans. To save her life he made her his mate.
