Mila is excited to be starting at a new school, anticipating whatever this new journey brings. Jori is a relatively quiet jock, who's world is turned upside down when he locks eyes with her for the first time. We follow the point of view of both characters in this love-at-first sight story.
This book is sweet and well meaning at best, and juvenile at worst. The “love at first sight” element isn’t even written well enough to give that justice. Their connection seemed awkward and stilted from the jump, which made it confusing as to how it would ever be considered love at first sight. Beyond that, the story itself and the writing style is very high school and childish. This could be considered a good and a bad thing, depending on how you view it. It’s sweet at times and somewhat nostalgic, but this story also feels like it was written by a teenager just getting into writing fan fiction. The dialogue is forgettable and the prose is bare — and there’s so much exposition instead of showing the reader through imagery. This isn’t the worst story ever written — far from but it is still pretty bad. Jori and Mila are nice characters, but are one dimensional and flat.
A PERFECT Autumn Romance!!! THIS book should be talked about WAY more especially when it comes to romance recommendations for Fall Cozy reads. I finished this in one weekend and now I am a fan of this writer. The story was so well written, warmed my heart, and kept me engaged the whole time.
I loved this story so much 🥹 I feel like this REALLY had all the feels of being in love for the first time. Almost made me wish I could relive my first love for the first time 😅 Mila and Jori's characters were very well written and I loved the dual POV. I can't wait to finish the sequel!
I read this book all in one day which is pretty rare for me. Jori and Mila's relationship was so adorable!!! I refuse to ever except them being apart!💖
I enjoyed Mila and Jori story so much, it was a cute young romance from high school to college. Even though they had their ups and downs they still loved each other, glad it worked out in the end.
