When Holly Winters, a driven event planner from New York City, is assigned to organize the Snowflake Village Winter Festival, she never expected it to change her life. Tasked with revitalizing a beloved, yet struggling, small-town tradition, Holly dives into the challenge with enthusiasm, unaware that Snowflake Village—and its charming mayor, Jack Frost—will become her home away from home.
From the moment she arrives, Holly's dedication shines through as she collaborates with the local community to bring new energy to the festival.
Amidst the twinkling lights and festive cheer, Holly finds herself drawn to Jack, whose playful Santa costume and genuine heart make her question her plans.
As Holly and Jack grow closer, their budding romance faces a complex backdrop of unresolved family tensions. Jack's strained relationship with his uncle Carl, who once had a deep connection with Elena, a beloved local, casts a long shadow. Holly's efforts to mend the rift and her growing feelings for Jack create a whirlwind of emotions.
But what happens when everything seems to fall perfectly into place? Will Holly and Jack be able to make things work?
Or will they be forced to give it all up?
*This is a short, holiday feel-good SWEET romance story including a happily-ever after!
First of all, the writing was great. The descriptions of the town and the Inn were really well done, and it was easy to picture.
However, the main character Holly goes from ‘Her eyes are a striking shade of green, wide and expressive, with flecks of gold that catch the lights to ‘But as I look at Holly, with her big blue puppy dog eyes,’ so that was a detail that changed. Minor, sure. There were also multiple repeats of descriptions, which pulled me out of the story I really wanted to snuggle in.
As a romance though, in 77 pages of story, I thought the romance part started out late, over half way though. It wasn’t until page 46 that there was something going on- until that point, it felt more like Holly was on her mission to put together the event for the town, and the romance was a B plot to that.
I didn’t get a lot of depth out of the main characters, and the whole C plot between Uncle Carl and Jack didn’t feel as fleshed out as it should’ve been given that it was a focus of this short story. Had this been a longer story, this would’ve been a great addition to Jacks character but to me, it felt like it was added because there needed to a conflict.
While the writing was good, and the town felt like a real place, I just didn’t feel a deep connection to the characters.
Holly is driven event planner from New York City, Jack - charming mayor of Snowflake Village, that is straight out of a holiday movie. Her assignment is Snowflake Village Winter festival. Short, easy to read sweet story. They are surrounded with locals, who supports preparations, perfect community. Cookies' magic that helps to overcome family's estrangements, renew romantic ties. And they want to give it a chance.

Despite his name, Jack Frost (LOL) is a sweetheart who just needs a little Christmas magic. Good thing Holly came to town. She spread her special brand of joy, healing family rifts and bringing a new flair to the little town. She got her own HEA and helped another couple get their long overdue HEA as well. A sweet story with great characters basking in love and the holiday spirit.
The writing was very descriptive with the surroundings so as a reader you feel like you can visualize. However, it was so fast of a story there was no depth or connection. There was no build up between the characters and then one chaste kiss where she said it was a mistake. Next thing you know they are wanting to move out of state to be with each other and they’re in love. The whole focus was supposed to be creating a festival and we never saw anything that happened during it.
This book is a delight! Holly and Jack are well rounded characters who grow to love each other over the book as well as learn together. The other characters are well thought out and add to the story. This book is a delight to read.

Holly is hired to increase the number of people attending the Snowflake Village Winter Festival. Jack is the mayor of the little town and is struggling with the town's finances. Together they make plans and make a wonderful festival. I loved these small towns where everybody joined in to help. Snowflakes and Second Chances (Snowflake Village Christmas Shorts #1) by Em Tate – Why do men in small towns pick up stranded city slicker ladies who blow into their quiet holiday haven? If you too are a Hallmark junkie this time of year, this was a cute novella to help me reach my reading goal! Happy Holiday Reading!
I liked it but I just felt like it was way to rushed and to be honest I didn’t get the whole point in Carl and jacks”family feud”. I get he lost his parents but I feel like there needed to be more context of his and carls relationship/what happened because it just seemed off that his uncle couldn’t be happy with Elena while raising the two kids.

I definitely liked the story and I know it’s a short story, but I found the little bit of conflict too easily resolved and honestly, like it didn’t need to exist at all. The descriptions were wonderful, but the emotional depth just wasn’t there. It’s a sweet, light story though.
I absolutely love Christmas and this was a cute book. It’s a very quick read. Had some conflict to it but was wrapped up very nicely. I am definitely continuing the series. Puts you right into the Christmas spirit
Cute story with the expected happy ending. There needs to be more of a variety of adjectives though. And consistent descriptions as well. But cute enough for the length.
⭐️⭐️⭐️: city girl visits small, cliche town to get it's annual winter festival back to it's former glory. Also meets the mayor... is she going back to the city? Place your bets now!
