Sienna Sanderson is lucky to work at Silverberry Hall in the lovely Cotswolds. This Christmas Sienna is single, but she is so busy planning the Christmas party, to honor Freddie the owner of Silverberry who passed away. I have always wanted to go to the beautiful Cotswolds, such a magical place. This was a pleasant Christmas read.

I really liked this book it was very sweet. The book deals with love, family feuds and loss of a loved one and the aftermath.

The book centers on Sienna who has had a lot of changes in her life recently, the relocation of her mother, who has moved to Cornwall to be with her new partner Greg, the loss of her employer Freddie, who was her mentor and a good friend and finding out her long term partner Liam had cheated on her, so she ended the relationship and moved out of their home.

With Christmas approaching, Elizabeth has decided that she still wants the big Christmas eve party that they always have to honour Freddie and it is Sienna's job to organise it. Sienna finds herself snowed under with the organisation of the party, looking after Elizabeth, who is still trying to come to terms with the loss of her husband, trying hard to negotiate her feelings about everything that has brought changes into her life and engaging in a secret mission for Elizabeth.

With some twists and turns along the way, will Sienna find the love and security that she craves.

The book is very well written and you fall in love with the characters, it was a little slow for me to start with but it does blossom into a very lovely book to read. It is a perfect Christmas read so I would recommend this goes on your Christmas reading list

A pleasant read set around the people working and living at Silverberry Hall.

Sienna works for the owner of Silverberry Hall, Elizabeth, helping with the day to day running of the hall, and also involved in the yearly Christmas event. Elizabeth is still grieving the loss of her husband, Freddie, and is finding life quite hard, but with the help of her best friend (also Sienna's grandmother) she is slowing getting back to 'normal' life.

But then she hears about the death of her estranged son, and finds out she also has a grandson she knew nothing about, so Sienna helps her find him.

This sounded like it would be a really good story, but for me it just didn't flow very well for some reason, and I couldn't warm to many of the characters. Some situations that felt like they were heading in one direction then completely turned around and went another way which was very confusing and didn't make a lot of sense to me.

So whilst the setting sounded lovely the story just felt a little stilted for me.

This is one of the most boring Christmas books I've read. Nothing in it that made me laugh, and it was so slow! Even the epilogue was mainly dialog rehashing what had happened in twelve months. The only reason I finished this was so that I could count it in my year's reading challenge and not feel like I'd cheated!

Because what’s a trip to a stately home without a side of life-altering decisions?

Coleman is excellent at atmosphere, and she leans in hard. The twinkling lights? Perfection. The crackling fires? Chef’s kiss. The kind of lingering melancholy that comes with revisiting a place steeped in personal history? Absolutely devastating in the best way. This isn’t just "let’s string up some garland and fall in love under mistletoe"—there’s real emotional weight here, as the protagonist wades through personal growth, complicated family dynamics, and a romance that (refreshingly) takes its time. If you’re looking for high drama, wacky Christmas shenanigans, or someone pretending to be a holiday tree for comic effect, this book says no thanks and instead delivers a slow-burn, earned romance wrapped in nostalgia and snow-dusted sentimentality.

This one’s for those who like their holiday reads with a little more depth—think love, loss, healing, and figuring out where you actually belong (all while wandering through a gorgeously decorated manor house, of course). It’s a book that lingers—both in mood and message—and sometimes that’s exactly what you want during the holiday season. 4 stars for the atmosphere, the heartfelt story, and a romance that actually makes sense (minus one star because can we please get a manor house story where people just relax and drink eggnog instead of having a full-on identity crisis?).

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
I have enjoyed books by this author in the past but I found this one hard going, didn't like it and actually gave up less than half way through.
Sienna was introduced to Oliver and immediately decided she didn't like him and suspected her best friend, Daniela, of all but cheating on her husband, Nigel, with Oliver - not a very nice thing to think about your best friend with no basis. She's working for Elisabeth and is asked to secretly look for a long-lost grandson - why not ask a Private Investigator who has more chance of finding him, and there's less chance of other people finding out her secret? In the early part of the book there's a lot about 5 people who have died recently - this much grief was far too much in a Christmas book. There are pages and pages about the set design for the play - I know this is part of the festive celebrations but I ended up thinking I'm not interested in set design why am I reading this?
Clearly other readers enjoyed this so I've given it a midrange rating even though I didn't finish it.

This delightful story is perfect if you enjoy your festive fiction packed with emotion at a gentle pace with a multigenerational cast of characters. Sienna is recovering from a breakup. Work keeps her focused. The upcoming festivities she is responsible for at her employer and friend's home are the perfect solution to her heartbreak. Elizabeth has been keeping a painful secret that has to be shared. She asks Sienna to help her and sets in motion a second chance for them both to be happy. This is a lovely Christmas-focused tale with family drama, a mystery to solve and secrets. It explores friendships and love and is an engaging read.

I like the author's use of sensory imagery and the details she includes, which make imagining the festive preparations and outcomes so easy. The characters are complex and relatable, and the mystery takes the reader on an emotional and uplifting festive journey.

In Darlingham, the community is mourning the loss of Freddie, husband to Elizabeth and man of the manor at Silverberryhall where Sienna works. As Christmas approaches, relationships are strengthened, tested, built and pursued.

It's a festive story with moments of realistic events, bits of escapism and interwoven stories. It was a nice enough read,and parts left me feeling very festive. I quite enjoyed the ending - it's not exactly what I first predicted it might be and the last chapter takes place 'a year on', so it nearly ties up the story. That being said, parts of it felt a little too forced and it just felt a little lacking! A shame as some of the communities and moments created were really lovely to read.

It’s the run up to Christmas, and sienna is tasked with not only helping plan an amazing Christmas Eve celebration for her employer, and close friend of her grandmother, but also charged with a secret mission. Will she succeed in both? And what else will lay in store this festive season.

Christmas at silverberry hall is a festive romance story. There are twists, secrets and figures from the past. I did enjoy aspects of the story, however the dialogue felt overly Scripted, and it honestly felt like there were two stories forced into one. The final chapter wraps things up in a “where are they now” sense which threw me off slightly. Overall the story was ok, but I felt just the one plot line would have worked better.

A really nice Christmas read. I loved the whole build up to Christmas with the party and the play and watching them create the set and decorate the whole estate. There was some amazing descriptions and I felt I could really visualise what they created.

The plot was also interesting. I admit I’m still a little confused over what the initial argument was and why no one reached out and fixed it before it went on too long, however the twists and turns were genius. I loved how Sienna worked to track down James and how, after he tells her his side of the story she feels guilt for storing things up. But she never gives up hope of trying to reunite Elizabeth and James/Ash.

The friendship between Oliver and Sienna was really nice it was great to just see a deep long lasting friendship that didn’t have to be more than that. The end pairings were perfect!

This was such a heartwarming story and I’m not sure why I didn’t click with it but I couldn’t fully immerse myself into it for some reason. I didn’t feel too much for the characters but I was invested in their stories! Elizabeth was a likeable character, to be honest they were all likeable and I’m contradicting myself here but you can’t go much wrong with the set up of this story.

I love a setting in a grand sounding hall, it’s Christmas time and the festive season beckons with plans of parties, performances and festive joy. There’s new grief to navigate, strength in friendships and maybe even a romance or two in the pipeline. Normally a recipe for a perfect read, maybe I just wasn’t in the right mood!

The audiobook made for easy listening although I did glaze a bit in and out with the flow. It’s certainly uplifting and had a warm fuzzy happy feeling ending!

Sienna loves working for Freddie and Elizabeth at Silverberry Hall. Freddie unfortunately recently passed away so the annual Christmas party this year will be a dedication to him. Elizabeth is struggling after the death of Freddie only to find out her estranged son has passed away as well and she also finds out she has a grandson she never knew about. Sienna is given the task of tracking him down. Can she make Elizabeth’s Christmas wish come true?

This book was okay-the idea of it was good but the execution could have been better. The book really drug on and I felt there was a lot fluff that did not really need to be in the book.

Silverberry Hall is a place that Sienna loves working at with Freddie and Elizabeth. The annual Christmas party will be a proud event to honor Freddie who recently passed away. Elizabeth receives another hard blow when she finds out her son whom she has been estranged from has passed away recently also. She learns she has a grandson she never knew about. Sienna is going to find him for Elizabeth.
The story was good, but it just did not tug at my heart like I thought it would be considering everything that was happening in it.

This book was lovely read and I was surprised of how I enjoyed reading this book. I am sad that I cannot read it for the first time again. I had all emotions whilst reading this book and was in love with all of the characters especially Elizabeth and Charlotte. With a hint of Christmas spirit and the importance of family at Christmas time.

Celebrating with the ones closest to your heart. It really remembered of my childhood as I also grew up in a village with everyone knowing everyone. The atmphere and setting that his author can read is perfection and looking forward to read another book by this author in the near future

A story of a woman who is still finding her footing after losing her fiance when he cheated and then losing a grandfather figure. Her work with his widow and her own grandmother give her purpose, but when planning a charity Christmas party, shortly after his death, lots of drama ensues. I enjoyed the story and characters overall. I found one of the side stories to be quite irritating and not handled very well, but it was minor and I enjoyed the main storylines.

Lovely festive story with intrigue and twists that you can lose yourself in and enjoy the the the spirit of Christmas.

This book is an enjoyable and easy read, set in the lead-up to Christmas as the main characters plan a grand Christmas Eve event. The setting is beautifully described, adding charm and warmth to the story. Focusing on love, life, and relationships, the novel strikes the right balance between heartwarming and engaging. The "12 months later" final chapter was a delightful touch, providing a perfect and satisfying conclusion. A cosy, feel-good read that's perfect for the festive season!

Cute, but the story jumped a lot and it was suprising to realize time had passed from one paragraph to the next. I had a lot of, ‘wait, what?’ moments. Also calling it a romance…doesn’t feel quite right. It was an afterthought that was kind-of explained in the epilogue. It would have been nice to have a few more chapters about the love story & then the big move instead of a few pages that left me with questions.

This was a stilted book in some ways. The book had way too many interesting threads that we could’ve pulled on more but we just didn’t we stopped. I really hate it as well when authors start to create emotional support narratives and then don’t actually continue them to the end. I think the romance was really quick and kind of came completely out of the blue and honestly, I left feeling a bit confused.

Sienna is the personal assistant of Elizabeth, an estate owner. As such, she is much involved in running the estate, problem solving and running charity events. In this position of confidence, she is asked by Elizabeth to track down some leads for a grandson Elizabeth only recently discovered existed. Despite the tensions in the story line, it is a comforting Christmas read.

This was a good, well written story. It was a little on the sad side. It's more of a drama. But I really enjoyed the authors writing style. So, if you want to read a more serious family drama set during the Christmas season. This will be a great pick for you!

Although I enjoyed this book it wasn’t my favourite read by Lucy Coleman. It took a while for me to get into it and to get used to the characters. Sorry but couldn’t wait to finish this rambling book. The author wrote lines for the male characters that were so feminine and I couldn’t imagine any male I know speaking like this. The author wrote their lines from a female perspective and what they would ideally like a man to speak like. They were so polite and agreeable with no substance. As for the story, it felt like 90% of it was just getting ready for the Christmas play until in the end I speed read through the ending.

DNF after two chapters. So dull! You can't tell when this book is set and I hate present tense narration.

Also, there are some jarring sentences. An old lady is talking about estrangement with her son years ago and the FL has a shiver run down her spine.

Shiver? Really? What is this book trying to be?
