Deville Academy, affectionately called Devils Academy by the locals, is the place where the Elite go to forge their future and when my brother won me a scholarship, my life changed in an instant.
Deville may have all the old-world charm you would expect of a heritage township, but behind the stunning architecture lies insidious secrets and worlds of men who crave nothing but power and control.
As I settle into my new life, I find myself drawn into the paths of not one, but four men who haunt my mind with promises of love and desire I can only imagine. These men captivate and draw me in, and I struggle to decide who to choose.
But life isn't always sunshine and roses and I can't shake the feeling that I am being watched.
As women begin to disappear, my life becomes endangered and I have to place all my trust in the men who aren't all they seem.
Will the secrets revealed hold us together... or tear us apart?
*Devils Academy is a why choose dark romance with gothic vibes and a fmc who doesn't have to choose. It is set within the Sinnersverse world but can be read as a standalone and has a HEA.
I DNF’d. After the fifth time of her talking about how hard it is to want to have a family and be a SAHM (and I believe moms should stay at home if they want!) and the evil feminists I just couldn’t. Not to mention the jarring lack of scene breaks and at one point it said that someone’s “crutch” was in her face lol
Another great story to be added to the Sinner’s Bay series. Georgina has four hot men trying to win her heart before they realize she wants all four. As they work through getting to know each other and romancing her there is evil going on in the background. OMG there is so much chaos going on you won’t be able to stop reading until the story ends. We get to see a glimpse of characters from the earlier books in this series.
**I enjoyed the book but there were spelling and punctuation errors and there was no break between scenes within the chapters.**
Dark Academia with a Cult Twist – A Fast-Paced Ride with Surprises!
Devils Academy pulls you in with its intriguing plot and strong character introductions. The dynamic between the characters grows throughout the story, and I found myself really enjoying the journey. The twists? One of them totally blindsided me—and that’s saying something since I usually see these things coming!
That being said, there were a few things that bothered me, like sudden scene jumps with no warning and a few writing mistakes that left me a bit frustrated. But despite that, I can see where the author was heading, and the story kept me hooked. I loved the blend of dark academia with cult vibes, and even with a few bumps along the way, it’s a fun read.
If you’re into insta-love and why choose, this book delivers on that front. The romance is light and loving, with a touch of spice—nothing too intense, but enough to keep things interesting with each of her four men.
Tropes:
Why Choose Dark Academia Secret Societies Found Family Age Gap Breeding kink Two brothers Professor*Student
Spice Meter: 🌶️🌶️ - there is a few scenes but it is light in nature.
I have seen this book somewhere on Tiktok and decided to give it a try.
The beginning was good BUT:
FMC (G) was annoying as hell and giving a speech about how she likes traditional values 1:1 to EVERYBODY in EVERY conversation. At first i really thought i’d survive this ick but not it hasn’t happened
One of MMCs : (small spoiler) not intentionally kills several people but she says she LOVES him whatever and stays with him. Dark romance i would understand my problem was that she has no vibes with nobody. She is existing as alone and evth what happens around is minor
I really thought development will happen faster than by 60!!!!!% and book is huge btw 500 pages. By 72% the FMC was vibing 0 with anybody and doing still strange conversations
Sadly much dissapointed and won’t continue reading it
I was very interested in the plot and I did like the characters however the Grammer was atrocious. Not to mention the word choices. The author would have the characters talking like "it is going to be sunny today." Very stiff and formal for how they would actually speak. It took me right out of the story.
There was also the switching scenes abruptly and without warning. I don't understand how this is book 7 in a series and these things are happening. If it was a new author, I could forgive and continue on with the series but this author has written too many books now to be making these editing and writing errors.
This book has a really great plot and the first book to keep me captivated all the way through for a while. Even at almost 500 pages!
I would have given it a 5 * but it REALLY needs a final edit. There is no space between scenes so literally from one line to the next it jumps to a different place with different characters and is very confusing and jaring.
Also there is almost no contractions in the book making a lot of the dialogue stuff and takes you out of it.
I think with a single pass through and edit by author it will make this 5* for sure!
Characters are well developed and I enjoyed her building connections with each of them individually.
This is not a dark romance, it does not have secret societies, it has gangs. There is lots of editing that could be done, IE crutch being used instead of crotch, missing quotations, or just referencing the wrong character. Overall this book reads as very juvenile and cringey. The marketing was misleading and this author could use a good proofreader.
I enjoyed this book a lot. It was a great extension from the Sinners world with new characters. It's a bit disappointing that there are some errors in the book as far as content, and there is a break in the story without a break in the page, which is a little confusing. But if you can look beyond all that, which really wasn't hard IMO it has a great storyline.
I wanted to quit this book so many times but I stuck it out. The plot was good but just to many errors. Also the changing scenes out of no where was confusing. I think with some good editing it could be at least a 4 star rating.
Wow. I don’t even know what to say. I am surprised this is book #7 in a series. The writing was bad, bad grammar, weird and unrealistic conversations. The story made no sense at all. The only reason I finished this book was because of my curiosity.
I liked this book more than the last one and I enjoyed the story. As with all the book, it feels a bit on the light side, but I had fun reading it. It was good while it lasted, but I probably won’t put it on my list of books to re-read. 5 stars.
take a shot every time the FMC says her mothers a feminist. take two every time time the fmc reminds us she’s not like other girls
this whole traditionalism being prosecuted and feminism taking away choice was very jarring. and this being one of the biggest plot points in the novel is silly. i’m not interested in the woe is me and it made the book feel incredibly corny to me
came back to say reverse harems are not considered traditionalist!
