This was an intense and well written novella for sure :) So good! And I smiled more than once, especially with the whole dog-man gig :D I liked how different it was from other books by Eden, the style is lighter and the whole thing is faster-paced, the comedy element was also quite well done and did not overshadow the more serious romantic plot. Damien was such a cute guy! I always enjoyed Storm's cameos in other books of Eden's Omegaverse series, he seemed quirky, with a strong personality and I was quite surprised to discover that Eden consistently showed him to be quite an unapologetic guy here. Well done. Really perfect novella, full of emotions! I look forward to reading the next part and it will be very soon, I hope :D
I also look forward to reading about Storm's difficult clients :)
This was my first time reading anything by this author and I was pleasantly surprised! The concept was really original (never read anything with an mc who has this kind of job), and there was some cool world-building as well (special alien DNA alphas and omegas). I liked the body diversity and how Storm started immediately feeling a connection to Damien even from just seeing a picture. Overall, if you don't mind some dark and intense themes then this is a short and captivating read that I would recommend!
Genre: MM omegaverse Roles: Strict t/b Cheating: No Steam: 3.5/5 Angst level: low Overall tone Comedy dark romance? Size difference BIG! Length 100 pages, part I of II
I love size-kink romances and I loved it, the height difference was pretty big (5'7'' and 7'2'') and it made it mmmmmm, perfect :) This short book was a quick and cool read, I laughed and smiled. So good! Need more!
Short but super entertaining—I didn’t even lift my eyes once the whole time I was reading. I loved how the story was structured from two angles, with Storm as an assault specialist and an aspiring matchmaker. It was such an interesting mix. Storm’s personality really came through, and his inner commentary on everything was hilarious. Definitely different from what Eden usually writes (the other books are more slow and detailed)—this was quick and lively, a totally unexpected side of the author. I need more of this, please! 4.5 *****
I wasn’t expecting this from Eden West! It’s quite a different book—fast-paced with a much bolder, more hotheaded main character. But his morals are in the right place, which I absolutely loved.
The story focuses on one of the Nolan brothers, the one I was most intrigued by while reading Eden’s Omegaverse series. Storm finds himself in a tough spot, forced to make a hard decision: work for a controversial company that could ruin his future love life or face mounting debt and relentless repossession agents.
While working for Dark Dream, he takes on role-play scenarios for various clients—some are pretty gross, while others are surprisingly funny. We get a glimpse of two examples of his commissions before the third one introduces a young, pink-haired omega. And that’s where the main twist begins.
I loved how quickly they connected and the potential for what’s to come.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book.
From the moment I met Storm, I was hooked. His internal dialogue is brilliant—so open and real—and it made me immediately connect with him. Even when he’s forced into situations he’s not fond of, Storm stays true to himself, and that integrity is one of the things I liked most about him.
Another thing that really stood out was the "relationship" between Storm and Damien. The way Storm initially seems disinterested in Damien, only for that disinterest to transform into an all-consuming obsession, is captivating.
When the book ended, I was left craving more, and I can’t wait to dive into Heat Me. I’m eager to read Damien’s perspective and see things through his eyes. If the rest of the series is as engaging as this book, I’ll be hooked for good!
I absolutely loved this book! I don’t typically read Omegaverse, but this one was a total hit for me. From the very beginning, I connected with the main characters and I couldn’t put the book down. The connection between the characters clearly shows The ending is thrilling and left me eager to dive into the sequel right away. Highly recommend!
New-to-me author who has a disclosure at the beginning about English not being her first language. That definitely shows in the awkward phrasing and dialogue, and yet... it was fun and inventive and sweet. I'm into it!
Wow what a story. Eden West did an amazing job with this book. The story is based off of a young man’s life after his husband accuses him of things that aren’t true. Storm loses his job and ends up working for another company. 6 to 8 months later, with still 20,000 dollars to pay off his debts, Storm ends up taking a job from a young man, Damien, for little of nothing. He meets the man and realizes he’s his true mate. The details and the path to get there is great. I Really enjoyed reading this. 5 stars. ⭐️💜
Another unique story by Eden West! For my kinky friends, this one's got some creative content!
Three stars, because I don't much like the POV MC, Storm. Even though he was taken horrible advantage of by his loser cheating ex-husband, I didn't sympathize with him. I don't like his "guess I have to do this bc I owe money" attitude about his job—I know it creates tension/conflict, but, I wanted him to be more definite in saying No clearly and loudly when asked to overstep his own boundaries. You can't tell me there is NOTHING else he can do if he doesn't want to do this. And I'm still taken aback by his family dynamic and how mean he and his siblings are to each other, it's off-putting. There's a very minimal mention of it here, but, still puts Storm in a terrible light. IMO, this MC has taken unforgivable action in the name of getting back at his brothers. Luckily, *I* don't have to forgive him to read about him!
I did still enjoy the read a lot. Eden's hyperbolic style, with its leaning into possessive-obsessive protectiveness that comes with finding your fated mate, works really well for me. The other MC, Damien, is so sweet and insecure, and I did love how Storm reacted to him from the start and how respectfully he treated him. Although, Storm's a bit TSTL/slow on the uptake, given his talent for matching people as fated mates, which got frustrating, even over a 20 min timeline in the book. At least he woke up by the end.
I love Eden's omegaverse world of True Mates, the senses that kick in, the unusual connection that overcomes so much to make itself felt. I am getting frustrated by her characters being on blockers when the books begin though, and missing out on special parts of connecting with their mates due to it. It makes sense in the story, but, a lot of this first-time stuff you do not get back/get a re-do on. When it's over, it's over. Oh well.
This is an intro prequel; the MCs' full story happens in Heat Me. This is just how they met, as part of Storm's work for Dark Dreams, a company specializing in delivering on their clients' darkest, most inappropriate fantasies. Nothing is too kinky to provide, no one is ever shamed or judged, which is nice. Apart from. You know. The people delivering on it often seeming coerced into taking part for financial reasons, which is a struggle for me with any sex-work book. This one does open with a doozy; TW for sex-with-non-MC opening, but it does happen before the MCs ever meet, so, okay for me.
Open ended, just a formed connection. Sex worker MC (no penetrative sex, but, delivery of others' sexual fantasies/still involves sex). Virgin MC client. True Mates/fated-mates scenario. No cheating; one character serves two clients (one with actual assistance with sex, the other by delivering on his puppy kink, but no sexual contact) before the MCs meet, but, I sense there will be no others or any interest in others now that they've connected. So, safe for me, and I think the full book will be too, and yes, I plan to read it. Recommended, as is this unusual omegaverse series.
Storm works for a company who helps fulfill dark fantasies. He hasn’t had to have sex with any of the clients yet but his probation period is over and his boss is demanding he please a certain client. Instead he takes a contract for a home invasion fantasy. Storm has strong intuition, as part of his alien dna abilities. He can match people with their mates. And he has a feeling about this client but he is denying all the signs.
Damien has had a feeling about Storm since his friend told him about his company’s services. He got a strong sense that he needed to meet Storm. So he arranged a contract with his company, but made it only available for Storm. It is his first time and he wants the encounter to be perfect. And it is. Now he is going into heat and asks the company to offer Storm additional money to accompany him through it.
This is a different Omegaverse than all others. Somehow some have alien dna making them special, or monsters as others like to say. Interesting enough to continue the duo.
Slightly different Omegaverse setting with additional components I quite enjoyed. The book ended a bit abruptly and I would have enjoyed it more had it been combined with the next installment into one longer book. In that case some of the "staring at the image" which became repetitive could have been cut out. As with all Omegaverse book it is difficult to stop the whole book sounding too much like an m/f romance in which the female's name and anatomy has been changed to a male one. But it's probably just me, not liking females and their portrayal as weak and too soft, and thus the omega chanracter who mirrors this doesn't appeal to me as much as two more manly men. Omegas are just too vulnerable, too girly for me. I would love to see some omegas who are more gung-ho, go getters, but can still surrender to an Alpha in the bedroom.
An intense read! This was my first time venturing into anything omegaverse-related, and Eden pulled me right in with Storm's story.
The pace was perfect for a novella, with the right balance of seriousness and quirkiness to keep me turning pages. The way the romantic plot evolved was well done, and all the characters (even the side characters) had great depth and distinct personalities.
Looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
LOVED this book. One of the things I love about Eden's OV's is how unique they are. There is a whole different subspecies within the Alpha/Omega setting and I just adore it. Add that to the fact that she has written a chubby omega, and my heart is happy. The cliffhanger had me immediately rushing for book two and I can't wait to start it this evening.
1st person POV Single MM Omega verse Plot 3/5 Spice 2.5/5 Alpha / omega Faded mates Cliffhanger
It was okay, I did enjoy the story, the first of the book is setting the plot and backstory, I would have liked both POV, but what really took me out of the story was the dirty talk.. it was so awkward.. and cringy. I understand it was part of the script but damn have some finesse man..
Invade Me is the first book in a series. It's very spicy and narrated in first person from Storm’s point of view. I love how Damien is never just a client to him, and they instantly click.
