Dr. Alan Frost, a renowned paleontologist from Boston, arrives in Mistletoe Cove for a winter dig, seeking solace in his work three years after losing his wife. The quaint coastal town, with its festive charm, feels worlds away from his life in the city and the grief he still carries.
Claire Thompson, the passionate curator of Mistletoe Cove's museum, has dedicated her life to preserving the town's rich history. When Alan challenges her vision for the museum's latest exhibit, their clash of ideas ignites an unexpected spark between them.
As they work together on the dig site, braving the thick New England fog and racing against time, Claire introduces Alan to the joy and warmth of Mistletoe Cove's holiday traditions. Slowly, Alan begins to see life—and love—from a new perspective. But with the dig facing budget cuts and Claire's deep roots in Mistletoe Cove, both must confront their pasts and futures.
Can Alan open his heart to love again?
Will Claire risk her comfortable life for a chance at happiness?
"Frost and Fossils" is a touching later-in-life romance that proves it's never too late to excavate the treasures of the heart. This cozy holiday read will leave you believing in the magic of new beginnings and the enduring spirit of love.
Book 2 in the heartwarming Starfish Inn series, this short read is perfect for readers who enjoy clean romance with mature characters in a charming small-town setting.
I like the authenticity of this the fact Alan comes in as a know it all and makes Claire quite cynical of him along with his internal debates about moving on or staying loyal to those no longer with us added a real life emotional tie to the characters when the novellaitself is only short so this way to draw you in was good
A sweet clean later-in-life novella of a small beach town museum curator falling for the visiting paleontologist as they work through budgeting for the archaeological dig and museum project. Nina Potter is great at describing the scenic beach town and the emotions of her characters. Since this is a short novella, less than a two hour read, there is not a lot of detail but yet I felt an emotional bond with both lead characters and enjoyed watching their quick attraction grow into something more. I received a free Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book but was given no monetary compensation. I read for the enjoyment and voluntarily review so that others may know what to expect and authors may be helped by critique and encouragement.
I love all things Nina Potter and this does not disappoint, this is book two of three in The Starfish Inn series. Dr. Alan Frost comes to Mistletoe Cove to work at an archeological site. Claire Thompson is the curator of The Mistletoe Cove Museum. She gives Dr. Frost a tour of the museum. He gives her some comments and criticism she does not like. Dr. Frost makes some interesting discoveries on his dig, and invites Claire to join him. To add these discoveries to the museum, it will cost money. Can they raise the money? Can Dr. Frost and Claire work together? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I can't wait for the next book in the series!!!
Dr Alan Frost is a palaeontologist from Boston who is in Mistletoe Cove for a winter dig. He seeks solace in work after the death of his wife three years earlier. Claire Thompson is curator of the museum. The pair don’t exactly see eye to eye , he challenges her ideas and this causes an unexpected spark but soon Alan is seeing Claire’s point of view… Claire show Alan the true Mistletoe Cove in the holiday season. Alan soon begins to see rhyme and reason and the pair get close. Maybe they’ll make a dream pairing at work and play . Great writing , awesome believable characters.
Two older professionals tasked with working together on a project. Throw in a crisis, and did I mention working together? Place it all in a small, magical, seaside town at Christmas time and just wait for the magic.
This book is part of a series, but could be read alone (but read the series). I can’t wait for the next one to come out.
I received an advance reader copy of this book, however, all opinions are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed Claire and Alan's story! Although the whole story was wonderful, I very much enjoyed that Elizabeth provided help in figuring things out in this story, as she did the first book in the series (Tinsel & Tides). It was a fun connection for me - as was Olivia's part in this book!
“Frost & Fossils” Starfish Inn, book 2 by Nina Potter A Sweet Quick Read I did enjoy my time in Mistletoe Cove with Claire and Dr Alan Frost. If you like sweet clean romance stories and quick reads; I am pretty sure you will enjoy this story as much as I did. Happy Reading ! !
He's there to work at the archeological site. She's working at the museum. What happens when funding doesn't match the expenses? How do they solve the problem? Will they uncover more than anticipated? I received a copy of this book from the author. Review voluntarily given.
Such a cute story. A quick read that celebrates a small town community. The interactions between Alan and Claire have just the right amount of sass and challenge. I really enjoyed reading this. I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Nina Potter writes a cute and gentile life story with great characters and a HEA ending likely but not guaranteed, just wished for this mature adults. Will they find big city career life necessary? Will the people they meet influence their choices?
