First of all, thank you to Olga for saying that she thought of me while writing her review, so obv i had to read it
Second of all, i didn't know it was this author's first work until I read half of the book and went to search the side characters' books; honestly after knowing that this is her debut i enjoyed it even more (just a me thingy)

Let me think… I didn’t hate it. There were things I liked. But the second half got boring, a couple of choices rubbed me wrong, and a few of my personal boundaries were crossed. Still, I’m gonna check out the next books.
And no—the reason for my low rating is not because he was her stepbrother, so “ick.” I’m probably going to sound mentally deranged, but it honestly wasn’t that uncomfortable? Like, he saw her and fell for her before they became step siblings. Does that make it better? T_T
I feel like I would have felt the “taboo” if they had actually lived together as step siblings for a couple of years before anything happened, y’know? But their parents got married at the 80% mark, so technically they weren’t even step siblings for more than half the book.Not me making weird book choices and defending them too
Surprisingly, it also wasn’t because of the insta-love. I knew he was gonna be smitten with her the second he saw her. I did wish she’d taken a bit more time before falling for him, but whatever—that wasn’t a dealbreaker.
So what was the issue? Let’s break down the different parts of this book and whether I liked them.
The obsession.
I LOVE an obsessive MMC. I live for them. This man couldn’t go a second without looking at her, being near her, or thinking about her. He was always watching. And I enjoyed it—on paper. If it were me in her shoes? I would have felt… restricted. Scratch that—dead. I need my own space. I do weird stuff when I’m alone—like dance with my AirPods on or act out book scenes—and I do not need him seeing that. I’d jump into the Pacific Ocean and never return. But since it wasn’t happening to me, I had fun reading it.
My relief.
I can’t believe I’m writing a whole paragraph just to say I appreciated the lack of non-con. Yes. I just praised a book for not having non-con. The premise was that he’s obsessed and she’s “his whether she likes it or not,” so I was justifiably nervous. But thankfully, everything was fully consensual. Phew. In fact, there was zero abuse, and he treated her well from start to finish.
The spice.
The dirty talk. The “good girl” praise kink. I know most people are into it—since it’s in literally every romance I pick up—but I am not. And yet I cannot escape it. It drains my life force but I cannot escape.
Her obedience.
While I liked his batshit psychotic obsession, I did not like how obedient she was. He commanded, she listened. That irrationally pisses me off. On one hand, I’m enduring him calling her “good girl,” and on the other, she’s blushing and obeying like he’s- anyway.
His volatility.
I would’ve liked him more if he wasn’t so volatile. He snapped at everything. He’s tightly wound, has zero concept of control, and operates on “beat up first, ask questions later.” I prefer my men cool and calculated, not ticking bombs. Don’t get me wrong—his violence was never directed at her. In fact, he melted the second she looked at him. And yes, I believe violence has its place. But for him, it was his default setting.
And look… I know volatile men in real life. I’ve seen the angry, violent hissy fits firsthand. The flashbacks I’m getting as I write this are not pleasant. So yeah—I’ll take the man who, if someone touches his wife, calmly shoots the bastard.
Anyway. Enlightening experience. Let’s see what the next book brings.

★★★★. Dual V, stalker, OBSESSED MMC, strong heroine plus no third act with hints for the next couples? Easily a favorite. I loved this book and how quickly it moved. I liked how the author didn’t waste time in getting the couple together. AND THANK YOU TO THE AUTHOR FOR ADDING IN A TALK ABOUT THE SOMNOPHILIA BEFOREHAND…it made the whole scene so much hotter. The reason it’s not a full 5 stars is because the twist was obvious from a mile away. I wish it wasn’t that, but whatever I still loved this book.
Hayden saw Madison and knew she was his wife. I loved him. He was so perfectly obsessive and possessive that I don’t think anyone can top him recently. He literally tried to wipe away a touch on the arm by another girl. I loved how he knew everything about Madison (due to stalking) yet used it in a way to show her that he sees her and will always protect her. His reaction to his mom dying was funny im not going to lie. Him picking Madison over his annoying sister? A MAN!
Madison saw Hayden and made him work for her! I liked her. I thought her backstory was sad, but im glad in the end she gained a family and a true friend, Winter. I loved seeing her open up to Hayden and realize how real he was with her. The little jealousy moment with her was perfect. I loved watching her stand up to that witch Bethany for Winter. She was very strong and knew who to trust and who not too.
I am completely taken with Tristan and Winter to the point that I will beg the author on my knees for them. Step siblings with a man who braids her hair for her?! Who has nightmares (the reason why is sick) and only she can calm him down?! I NEED THEM.
I’m a little worried for Callum’s because he was this manwhore in this book yet im also thinking that was faked and he truly was only with Lilac? I am not getting the vibe this author would write that trope of manwhore who secretly pined for his best friends sister based on this book with Hayden being a virgin and with Tristan not ever being around another girl but Winter.

I suppose it was decent. Even though the plot isn't new, reading about an unhinged, OTT possessive, and obsessed MMC was still enjoyable. 🤭
They met at the vigil for their slain parents (h's dad, H's mom), and Hayden was totally obsessed the second he laid eyes on Madison. He decided at the moment that she's his girl, and she would find out soon enough. 🤭
Oooh, and get this, their other parents decided to tie the knot after just a week of that vigil, so now they're going to be step-siblings. But did Hayden even care about that? Nope, he doesn't. Madi is his girl, and that's just how it is. 🤷♀️
She attempted to keep some distance, but like I mentioned, he's totally obsessed, and even she can't really stop him from invading her space and pulling all the strings to find out more about her.
And of course, this whole pulling away stunt didn’t stick for very long, and before I knew it, she was giving in to him and letting her hormones take the wheel.
Then the suspense began, and they started getting veiled threats, which Hayden and his friends aren't having any of it. These friends were all about violence, and they wouldn't hesitate to unalive anyone who crossed them. I'm still surprised at how they manage to pull it off and clean up their mess every time. I suppose money really speaks.
Everything finally clicked in the last 15% of the book. It wasn't too overwhelming; the shady guys have already been brought up, and they even interacted with the MCs. It wasn't surprising to find out they were the ones behind it, but I definitely didn't see the mastermind coming.
Anyhoo, it just didn't have the same impact on me as I had hoped. Something about the writing style doesn't always appeal to me. At times, it felt forced and unnatural. Even some of the lines made me cringe, and I'm not sure if it was because they were cheesy or came across as corny.
Then the MCs fell flat; I know nothing about them except that Hayden is a hockey captain who is obsessed with Madi. While she is a poor girl who was only accepted to university because her mother married Hayden's father, she is also a cheerleader. I don't understand their personality, aspirations, or fears. They seemed superficial to me, making their relationship feel unbelievable. I wasn't convinced it was love, but each to their own, I suppose.
Also, this is probably a me thing, but the pet name "princess" is giving me the ick for some reason, and I'm not sure why.
Overall, it was okay-ish. Despite all my issues, I think this story is still good for passing some time. If readers are looking for a story about an obsessed guy, they might consider giving this a shot.

And that's just ewww. So yeah, I won't be reading his book; his type isn't my cup of tea.

Hayden Lockwood is Castlebrook University’s hockey captain and his soon-to-be stepsister, Madison Caldwell, is his obsession.
When threats are made, Hayden will stop at nothing to keep his princess safe.
What I loved: Hayden is incredibly obsessed and protective, seeing no one besides Madison.
What I didn’t like: it’s repeatedly said that Hayden began stalking Madison the first time he saw her, and fell in love at that moment. However, it’s not clear when that first time actually was. We know he sees her at the vigil, but he already knows quite a bit about her. So, was that the first time? There’s also a lot of animosity between Hayden and his family, particularly Kirsten. Yet, there’s no real explanation as to why. Similarly, there’s little growth in the couple’s relationship. Lastly, after the wedding, we don’t see or hear anything more about the parents, which I found a little odd.
I see this is London Snow’s debut novel and I think the author has a lot of potential. She’s brought together some favorite tropes and I’ll be giving book two a read.

It's not a bad debut book since I see this is a new author. But it could definitely be better. 😌
It wasn't something I hadn't read before. Except maybe the fact he was not a manhohoho, absolutely nothing like that. That was fine.
Even the cover and book title is nothing new. It does give vibes of other known series :). But I think that the next books in the series will definitely be better than this one.
Very repetitive read. His thoughts, her thoughts, especially when they kissed, touched whatever. Also, we get it. He was absolutely enamored and obsessed with her. We didn't need to read this every single chapter, and sometimes twice a page.
I felt like they were too many tropes mixed up. Some plot lines remained hanging by the end of the book. Like the stuff with their parents. How did they end up together, actually !? That part of the story was just a filler, in my opinion.. no, really, I didn't care that they became step siblings because it wasn't important for their story, okay?
Anyways, I will try the next books because I'm curious, and I was actually entertained by this little "gang" of three "little" friends 😂😂. Such a "deadly" trio *rolling eyes*.

It has been some time since I last read a dark college sports romance, and I found this one to be quite enjoyable. It was an exhilarating experience, and I liked every moment of it. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, and I loved how everything came together nicely at the end. This story revolves around Hayden and Maddison. Both their mothers and fathers have just been murdered, and when Hayden first sees Madi, he is immediately captivated by her.
Later on, Madi's mother and Hayden's father enter a relationship and are about to marry. Now, Maddi is staying with Hayden's family, and they attend the same college. Hayden is thrilled and is doing everything in his power to win Madi over, no matter the cost. However, the one responsible for their parents' deaths is still out there, and they begin receiving threatening letters. Hayden, Maddi and their friends are determined to uncover the truth before it’s too late.
I loved how Hayden is obsessed with Madison! He would unalive anyone who dared to look or touch her. He’s always looking out for her, making sure she’s safe and happy. I find it so endearing how he protects her so fiercely. It’s like he’s sent a clear message that Madison is his, and he’s not letting anyone come between them. I liked how Madison embraced Hayden's intensity. She’s not fazed by his protectiveness at all; instead, she feels secure with him. The way that I am absolutely feral for this book. I seriously love an obsessed man who is seriously unhinged and Hayden Lockwood is UNHINGED. Like he even knows it from his inner monologue.
The way this man sees Madison one time and is like, yup she’s mine, is everything. Then he ups the obsession by stalking her Pinterest and buying everything on it for her, perfection.
Madison definitely tried to fight the pull Hayden had on her but it was weak at best bc she knew this man would do absolutely anything for her and he does.
This man’s inner thoughts cracked me up. Like he’s like I know I sound like a psycho but it is what it is and you can’t tell me I’m wrong in the least bit. Like be first time he mentions his friend unalived someone, it was so nonchalant, I had to read it again to make sure I read it correctly.
I love that he is also a virgin. Like he could not be bothered by other women but Madison, he wants all of it. So does she, which made me so happy. I love when the FMC loves how crazy the MMC is. Like he’s obsessed with me and I love it.
The found family with the friends though was the cherry on top. Callum, Tristan and Winter were the best and I can’t wait for their books. And Ramsey, knowing he’s from a different book series by London Snow’s sister, perfection. Hopefully he gets a book🤞.

It feels like it took me ages to finish this book. I kept stopping and going back to it which indicates it wasn’t my favorite read but it was definitely entertaining.
Hayden is unhinged!! His obsession knows no bounds!! I loved that about him. I liked that he never felt anything for anyone before he saw Madison. This was definitely love/lust/obsession at first sight for him. He would do anything for her and it was literally touch her and die. He gave no fucks!! Now the only problem I had with him was yeah, he was soo obsessive and possessive but his obsession seemed very shallow. Like the only thing he ever thought was how beautiful she was and how he wanted to be inside her. 90% of his thoughts were how he wanted to be on top of her, underneath her, what she felt like, what she sounded like when he gave her pleasure. It was very surface level to me. He wasn’t obsessed with who she was as a person but only how badly he wanted to screw her. He never described anything else he liked about her!
It took a while for me to warm up to Madison. She kind of annoyed me at first. She pushed him away for half of the book for no valid reason in my opinion. She thought about him all the time and wanted to be with him but she kept pushing him away. Also I hated that she let Kirsten talk to her the way she did. She needed to stand up for herself more. She became more likable when she finally gave into Hayden.
The conflict wasn’t bad. I knew who the bad guys were but it’s not super obvious.
I was confused by Hayden’s dad though. I couldn’t tell if he was a good guy or a bad guy. And the thing with Hayden saying leave me out of what you have planned for Madison’s mom I was curious about that but it never led to anywhere. Like there was a whole other story line that could have happened but didn’t. Another thing was they were in college but we knew nothing of what they were studying and it didn’t seem like Hayden ever went to class. Madison was a cheerleader. It was mentioned at the beginning of the book but it wasn’t brought up again until like 80%. When it came up I was like oh yeah I forgot she was a cheerleader, because it was literally only mentioned in the beginning on the book.
Anyway I loved the secondary characters. Callum was hilarious and I loved how intense Tristan was. I’m impatiently waiting for Tristan and Winters book but I’ll definitely read Callum’s which is next!

Y’all this book was just ridiculous and I’m not totally sure it wasn’t written by a 12-year-old.
I don���t even know where to start with how stupid everything was going on in this book. We have the Insta love that literally started the second he looked at her.
We have a town where there are murders galore, but not one police officer or detective.
We have teenagers who kill so casually like it’s nothing
We have stalker obsessed, red flag boys that are being glorified.
The MMC literally acts like Hulk the superhero constantly wanting to smash everything and everyone he sees. He literally killed a guy casually just for looking at his girlfriend. She wasn’t even his girlfriend at that time.
They all have multiple kills under their belt and think it’s totally normal like they’re Jason Bourne or some shit.
The dude was a virgin who never even kissed anyone and yet he can make love to a girl like he’s some fucking senior gigolo or something.
Everything about this book was just ridiculous and it had me rolling my eyes nonstop and snorting at how corny the majority of this shit was.
It was also so obvious who the main villain was in the story. The author didn’t even try to hide it.
The book was way way, way too long. And of course, it was written with all the current overused phrases, scenes, sex scenes, sayings and plots. Nowadays, it seems like nothing original can be written, and they only pander to the pathetic TikTok bitches that have not a thread of originality in any of their little tiny pinky bones. If you read one of these book nowadays, you’ve read them all. It’s just a fucking factory of shitty books being pumped out to appease the pathetic masses that wouldn’t know a good book if it came all over their faces.

But the writing... Full of declarative sentences with absolutely no explanation of where they are, how they got there, how they look like beyond hair and eye color and height, or how anything around them looks like and an unclear sense of time.
I kept picturing them in a blank void.
I usually adjust my expectations with each genre that I read, but I guess I came from a too well written book and this one was grating.
I considered pausing it for later but nah, too many books on my TBR, most only get one chance anyway.

Listennnnnnnn London girl idk what I was expecting but this was so good mamasss! Now I was def skeptical but I hate the whole breeding kink , but it was done in a way that wasn’t over doing it .
I love books w a fmc and a mmc that both are strong minded and I ate this up . I will say tho the plot twist of who it was did shock me even tho I knew that one person had to be a part of it just didn’t realize how much of a part they played ; so even tho I wasn’t surprised I was still shocked if that makes sense lol .

First of all this book feels like another version of pucking wrong Number book and I enjoyed it a lot bc it made me feel like I was reading fragments of my husband Lincoln🌚
Hayden was a similar version of Lincoln but ofc not exactly the same
For example at the beginning of the book he says:
wait until she finds out I’d burn the whole fucking world for her.
She was mine the minute I laid eyes on her. She just doesn’t know it yet.
Also his tenderness toward her how he understands her and considers her feelings was among the most beautiful scenes
changed into an old hockey hoodie and the jeans I stained up helping Callum drag a body into a ravine. I don’t want her to feel out of place
And I really loved his madness In this scene my brain immediately started playing the song My Type My Type 🎶
I know I must look horrified, but the beautiful psycho smirks at me before landing another blow to Dawson’s face
And then
I hear the five most glorious words in the fucking dictionary. “I’ll come to your game.”
“You’ll come to my game, and you’ll wear my number,” I murmur, my voice steady.
Honestly doesn’t this give strong Lincoln vibes? 🤭
But let’s be realistic he’s not a carbon copy of Lincoln but Still so many things he did

…annoyed me a little 😭because that gesture felt special to Lincoln and Monroe
and to me Hayden and Madison are the true Lincoln and Monroe so when Winter and Tristan did it I felt like something was off lol😭

but i need to say that maybe there's some people might see this book as a big imitation almost a very close copy of the pucking wrong Number book and might find it annoying
But for me it brought back memories of that story and made me feel like I was reading little pieces of Lincoln again so I was genuinely happy reading this book
However I have to say that this scene between Winter and Tristan
She blows a kiss at Tristan, who’s guarding the net like the fucking stone-faced wall that he is. His eyes flicker for just a second, and then he reaches up, gloved hand in the air, and catches the kiss, as if it’s the most natural thing in the world.
…annoyed me a little 😭because that gesture felt special to Lincoln and Monroe
and to me Hayden and Madison are the true Lincoln and Monroe so when Winter and Tristan did it I felt like something was off lol😭
But Hayden made up for it in another scene when he did something similar with Madison
And I will literally die Tristan and Winter’s scenes drove me fucking INSANE I need to read their book SO badly

HELLO MRS. LONDON SNOW!! Ah. I was so impressed with this book! And then I went digging for other books by this author and realized this was her FIRST ONE! I'm even more impressed now! This book was so good. So entertaining. And it contained so many of my favorite tropes. One trope that had me squealing was the fact that BOTH MCs were virgins. Now, I've read about a virgin MMC and a virgin FMC. But together. In one book. It was 🔥🔥 and London handled this trope so well. Among many of the others, she nailed it!
I'm learning when it comes to my book boyfriends. I really like them a tad unhinged but completely obsessed when it comes to the FMC! And Hayden was absolutely that! This man was head over heels for Madison the second he met her. And to make matters far more interesting and spicy, London made them "almost" step-siblings! 👏👏 The obsession Hayden had for Madison only added to his swoon factor! He would have burned the world down to keep her safe. Which isn't something Madison was used to and definitely took a minute for her to get used to and realize that he meant every word he said when he told her that he was going to protect her. And he delivered on that promise 100%! I loved that the instant attraction between these two was so mutual.
This book is definitely a dark college romance. But the relationship between both MCs was so perfectly done. There are dark elements, but not once is there drama or bullying between the MCs once they have settled on the fact that they're meant to be together. Which isn't something I'm used to reading about in a dark romance. The darker plot came purely from outside characters and situations. It was such an interesting storyline, and I loved it.
If you're looking for a dark college hockey romance with a man completely obsessed who keeps a mental kill list of everyone who has wronged the FMC, then this book is for you!!!

My Review:
This book scratched my dark hockey romance itch in the best way possible! It’s been a while since I found a story that hit all the right notes—obsession, spice , suspense, and a hockey backdrop? YES, PLEASE!🙌🏼
Hayden was perfectly unhinged—narcissistic, obsessive, and completely aware of how crazy he was, yet he embraced it with zero shame. His inner monologues - Gold! He knew he was too much, but did he care? Nope. And honestly? I loved every second of it. 😈
Madi was a beautifully written FMC—sweet but strong, never overshadowed despite Hayden’s overwhelming presence. Their relationship didn’t have that exhausting push-and-pull, and while it wasn’t exactly instalove (at least for Madi), the way Hayden took care of her , cherished her, and made her realize she was everything - SWOON! 💖
Throw in some suspense, hockey action, and scorching chemistry, and this book has quickly become one of my favorite hockey romances.
I desperately need Tristan/Winter and Callum/Lilac’s stories! If this turns into a full series, I’ll be the first in line!
