This author is definitely talented and I enjoy the incorporation of various spiritual practices. Now the reason why this is a 3 star read for me is because sometimes y’all be including TOO MANY PEOPLE. Like I’m sorry if you wanna make a series I get it add bits in pieces about other characters so we are interested in reading about them later. This story is too jam packed with really good characters that have absolutely harrowing and devastating situations in their lives. Like to be honest just with Jax and Cree alone the trauma is crazy. Like it’s so much to unpack with just them that we don’t need the cameos and plot lines from anyone else. Especially if they already trapped in situations with exes who can’t let go. That’s already 4 people with at a minimum of 4 separate issues.
My next reason is childish lol but I hate the use of C*ck like the book is urban WE IS BLACK please call it anything else but that lmao it’s giving Amazon best seller front page romance( we know they not putting no black/urban books on they main page). Then the fact the author kept alternating between cockadoodle and Dickerson was annoying it makes the reading experience choppy. Additionally the dialogue became repetitive when we were flipping between Cree and Jrue. Also just a formatting thing for me I hate when new chapters start on the same page ESPECIALLY when it’s a new character speaking like it’s no reason we going from Jrue story telling right into Cree story and they both getting bussed down.
Now onto Sabrina, other than being a spoiled annoying brat we need more depth or more insight into that relationship. Like maybe if we got a full breakdown in real time in book one I could understand but we don’t have that, we essentially spent the last two books in flash backs/ Jax narrating the demise of the relationship. Basically miss lady is wrong been wrong, and continues to be annoying about it. If Jax is the business man he claims then he should’ve never included her BUT HE DID, now either put on your boss fit and take the correct legal action or be quiet. Like why are you playing nice with someone who has shown you 3856 examples of the type of woman they are? Like after the cheating oh no baby I’m sure the company got an integrity or non compete clause WHY IS YOU PLAYING WITH HER? Then I felt like Crees family was annoying, since book one they been making remarks about her sensitivity, about her relationship about her personality and NONE OF THEM GOT THEY STUFF TOGETHER. Like yall got all these opinions but no grace for her? Like she’s forced to be a mother cus of her moms trauma YET YALL be having little Kikis at her expense. Like Nala you’d be a mess if it wasn’t for Cree yet you was on her head about Kross. Yet because he saved yo behind after that terrible date all of a sudden he’s forgiven AT THE EXPENSE OF THE SAME SISTER YOU WAS CALLING DUMB?!? Next up Miss Cree, she’s very well written and I want to see her win badly but ENOUGH OF THE WAFFLING. Like if you can’t trust yourself around that man then STAY AWAY FROM HIM, you feel unsure and hesitant then girl leave Jax be, like y’all both got bags to unpack and if yall would’ve taken the time like Jax requested, you wouldn’t be so conflicted about Kross. Trigger warning, I did not like the wake up to head scene at all, and it almost made this a two star. I’m not a fan of double standards and the thing is Jax was very clear and firm about his boundary of not wanting to have sex, why would you think it’s okay to engage a sleeping person in oral sex AFTER THEY TOLD YOU MULTIPLE TIMES THEY WANT TO WAIT. Like girl you had sex 4 chapters ago you should be able to calm your coochie down for a lil longer. Like nothing about crossing someone’s boundaries in order to get your needs met is appealing to me. Like sure the smut lover in me is happy they got freaky but the lead up to it was criminal IDC. Cus if it was flipped around this would have a lot of us up in arms. Overall I’m looking forward to the next book but I’m also hopping it’s the last one in the series because the Jax and Cree story needs to be concluded.

Jax!!!
Jax is definitely a force to be reckoned with!!!! Hope this fine man gets the help he truly needs and deserves! Holding on to trauma for so long is not good for anyone! The way the author took the time to explain his pain has my attention and antennas UP!!!
I’m so happy for Jrue and hope the love she needs and deserves is given to her! Cause baby him not playing about her at all!!
Now Cree, so glad she’s getting it together cause she does deserve her happiness as well!
With the fact the author used and entered the world of energy and crystals that itself really drew me into the story as I’m all about energy!!

Jax definitely does not play
Cree has been slowly getting over Kross but had a weak moment, but I loved the fact that she and Jax were still able to move on and leave the past in the part with no questions asked. After opening himself up to Cree about what happened to him as a child here comes Kross lil petty a$& trying expose Cree to Jax but he wasn’t expecting that response. I can’t wait to see what happens in part 3 because that ending was a shocker..

Part 2 found the characters in the same state they were in when part 1 ended. I like seeing Jax and Cree connect on a deeper level. They are still much slow burning it. The ex’s are losing their minds respectively. Sabrina is super bitter and Kross wasn’t much better. The cliffhanger has me imagining different scenarios.

This story has,more twist than the last one. Cree has her issues with dealing with her x. Jax has issues with his ex Sabrina and it is a turmoil effect. Sabrina wants revenge at all costs. This story has a real tantalizing effect where everyone has their own agenda.

Finally Cree and Jax get it together in regards to being together. Of course there's drama with Kross. Sabrina I'll be glad when she gets her Karma. That ending has me on edge. Author did a great job keeping me interested. Can't wait for next book

Another awesome read!
My gosh, this follow-up was all I thought it would be Jax getting help, Cree finally letting go of Kross. And I steadied myself for all of the twists and turns not knowing it would be like this keeping us on edge until part 3.
