For a YA, this could've been a good story with a good premise, but the author seems to think that a quotation mark equates to a period or comma, since they are missing throughout the entire story. The issues would've been resolved if only the manuscript had landed in the hands of a good editor; it does take the reader right out of the story, thus making it not too appealing.
