I really love to see how much Fuze has grown in their overall writing. The characters are so good, the fight descriptions are really enjoyable, and the story gets better and better!

4/5 Every time I want to review the current volume of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime lower it pulls out a super fun and entertaining ending. However I have to mention my complaints with the series thus far.

Firstly the cast is becoming too damned large. We finally get back to Hinata who was introduced at the end of Volume 4 but then on top of that we are introduced to not a few but 10 Great Sages. The sages of themselves have off shoots of themselves which become a bit confusing as well. On top of that we're introduced to different sects of the church as well as an organized crime syndicate.

Next we have the fact that the series has more politicking than most high fantasy I read. There is just so much subterfuge, meetings, planning, and economic debate. It makes the series more interesting but definitely less whimsical than I think it is intended to be.

Lastly Rimuru just gets more and more overpowered every volume and everything always turns out great for him and his minions. It just makes the conflicts feel a little hollow. However this is usually written in such a way that I have a blast reading it so it's the least of my complaints.

This volume puts us about 3 books ahead of where the anime currently is (Season 1). I believe it was recently renewed for at least 36 more episodes so we'll have to see how far that takes us. All in all though the light novel series is much better than the anime in the regard that it's a whole lot less juvenile.

Action-packed. Riveting. One you won't be able to out down.

I have sacrificed sleep and time for this book. I simply couldn't put it down. I have been too deep in it and next thing I knew, it's done ahhh this volume is so action-packed. The humor is still there but I'd say it veers more to the serious side of things. I like how so many POVs are at play already because the story is already getting that rich. I really like this volume. I'm so excited to read the next!

Awesome

This is one of the best series I have ever read. Is one I truly look forward to every time it’s published. I set the date in my calendar with reminders so I never miss a book a day it’s released. The only trouble is such a long time between books. But anything more than a day between books is a long time.

The new content starts from this volume! I enjoyed it immensely. It seems new stuff really does make it easier and more enjoyable to read. And I probably should stop comparing this to Overlord's writing. That is unfair.

Read this review (and others) at: https://literatureislife.com/2021/06/...

So, Volume 7 is something of a transition point in the series. On one hand, it’s wrapping up some sub-plots that started as far back as Volume 4. On the other hand, it also establishes a bunch of new world-building and characters for future volumes. And while that sounds like it could be cramped, FUSE actually makes it all work very well. The book feels balanced even with so much stuff going on.

Hinata returning is great because she’s a good character and it’s been a while. Plus seeing her reaction when she realizes Rimuru not only survived their fight but is now stronger, by a lot, is fantastic. Granted, it really helps that he won the superpower lottery and very rarely has to actually struggle for his accomplishments. Still though, great to see her still capable of being the badass we saw in her debut.

As far as the other characters…well, even if this review was 4x longer I still couldn’t address them all. This seems to be a fairly regular problem in light novel series; the casts get huge. I have no idea how many named characters there are by this point, but each book can really only do something meaningful with a handful of them. Rimuru is obviously a given as the MC, but aside from that, you might as well draw straws to see who any given book is going to focus on.

But at its core, this series continues to be fun. It’s no great work of literature (I find it comparable to an average western Young Adult series), but it’s fun. If you’ve ever played a video game and turned on God Mode, you should get it. Cause that’s basically what Rimuru is doing.

And honestly, him being overpowered in fights and looking for non-violent solutions to problems is part of the draw. There’s a surprising level of politics and it’s refreshing to see characters solving problems by means other than punching them. The next book seems pretty light-hearted too and I look forward to it.

My thoughts on the Seventh volume of the light novel of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken) by Fuze and Mitz Vah.

The story: Lot of meetings, political stuff on the first half, but then on the second half the book gets very awesome, we get a new narrator for a few chapters and because od misunderstandings the church fights Rimuru, very good

Enjoyment:
As I said, for a few chapters we get a new narrator and her chapters were definitely very fun to read, it was such a laidback atmosphere and adventuring that I hadn't felt from this series in a long time, it was very fun to read

The verdict:
This book developed a lot of the world, of characters and established a lot of new plotlines for future volumes, it was just a bliss to read and one of the best books of the series so far 9/10

Overall writing: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars
Plot: ★★★★★ 5/5 stars

Biggest Con:
- The overall plot is quite dense, and it's easy to lose details with so much going on at once

Biggest Pro:
- I am once again amazed at the turn of events, I couldn't put down this book even with eye strain exhausting me from reading nearly all day for days in a row

When I started reading this series, I honestly never saw it going this way. I didn't expect such a finely woven plot with overlapping details, nor fully fleshed out characters that all felt unique and well thought out. I'm flabbergasted. I didn't expect espionage and political intrigue to be one of the main descriptors of this novel, even though volumes 1-6 lead me there quite easily. It all makes sense and I never saw it coming. I'm in love.

The story held my interest and made me want to continue reading. In particular, I enjoyed reading about the time when their nation was at peace; I thought their works were admirable, and I was touched by the strong bonds they formed and the unexpected allies Rimuru made. It always gets me pumped up whenever he demonstrates his strength. Ultimately, I am aware that this volume serves as a setup for the next, which will reveal another fantastic story about Rimuru's future plans as a Demon Lord and member of the Octagram. The fact that he was also excellent at coming up with cool names is just really amazing. I can confidently say that this is something you should try.

4 stars. the backstories that were revealed and making hinata feel like a genuine character instead of just a plot convenience was really nice. as usual everything worked out in the end but still, the foreboding and foreshadowing really made me feel the tension that was happening with all the misunderstandings going on. even tho some of the misunderstandings could've easily been solved if they just talked for only a second before started fighting but who cares the slime wins in the end ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Rimuru keeps getting more and more overpowered, and no matter what happens it always ends up with Rimuru and his village benefitting at the end. It just tends to ruin all the build up to the sheer amount of politics and meetings. Speaking of that, this has got so much more politics than any other light novel I've read, and a shit ton of meetings between a lot of characters. I can't keep track of the characters, they're just too much. Regardless, it was a good volume. I most likely won't pick up the next volume.

I just absolutely adore the Slime light novels. I think they're so much fun and such interesting stories. This novel didn't disappoint. At the end of volume 6, Rimuru was excited to have a festival but that had to be put on hold for this entire book because this was all about Hinata and Rimuru. I loved the back and forth points of view coupled with the larger plot at work trying to mess with the two of them. Super interesting and really fun. I am excited to finally see the festival next volume though.

The last minute overpowered saves Rimuru throws out are getting more amazing and ridiculous with every volume xD and I friggin love it!
Have to admit though, that all the masses of different people that are conspiring against Tempest, gets really confusing at times. Once the volumes are out in German, I will carefully read them again yo make sure I don't miss anything.

This one sucked me up to breeze through it in one morning as I wanted to see how things turned out. Going back through in more detail, the Western Church territories and characters are really fleshed out and introduced, too.

The bits with Diablo are a bit spooky 😋, which is a bit different than the happy-go-lucky Slime vibe I'm used to!

This is the seventh and first volume where I knew nothing going in! This is the first volume that takes place in events that weren't shown in the anime. I love it! We finally get some information on Hinata and what she does as well as the Western Holy Church. I loved this volume and can't wait to continue into new-to-me territory.

After Hinata's attack on Tempest I am convinced, the author is an idealist. Which means fully immersed in this personal fantasy where everything imaginable happens AND goes the way he wants also implies that nobody will ever die in this series. This is actually quite a shame.

Amazing but..

I love everything but I can’t get over the fact that SOKA is the little sister of GABIL right? Then why has soka been mistaken as a guy from here on out? I hope it gets fixed.

I started to sweat a LOT in certain scenes! It was marvelous! I'm loving Diablo and his development! Oh man, this was an incredible volume! The relationships with other nations won't be easy, but not impossible! Let us all hope humankind stops being arses!

Excellently thrilling to the last page!

Who couldn't love Rimuru? He's an adorable, overpowered slime with the best of intentions. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and ended in a satisfying manner that makes me anxious to read the next novel.

another great read

Following the travails of Rimuru and co has been a blast! No details are left to chance as Fuse-Sama builds a wonderful world to immerse oneself into fully. I look forward to the next volume with bated breath.

There were some parts with too many descriptions that were a little bit hard to understand, but I love Rimuru and I love Tempest, and the contents didn't let me down. The exact amount of humor and action. loved it!

Wow

Just Wow. I truly appreciate this masterpiece. I have been re-watching the episodes because I hope another season starts soon. But the conflict between Hinata and Rimuru has been fun to read. Im honestly excited to read how the merchants account for all of this failures.

Im not a big fan of the fights in the series from this point on. I hate the way characters introduce themselves and banter in the middle of fights. other than that its fun, but this is the book where I started to notice this issue and as the series goes on I started to dread every battle.
