With touches of ‘Single White Female’ and ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ I knew pretty much on starting this that it was going to be a book for me

Sasha is the ‘have everything’ whilst Jenna is the ‘has nothing’ and as their worlds collide and become one we realise there is maybe more to them both than meets the eye but beware of red herrings and feelings you have worked it out,I smugly went through most of the book thinking I had nailed it,I hadn’t

I LOVED the writing,it’s that descriptive type where a piece of carpet is made to sound enticing and every feeling and thought is described deliciously, when this is done well it’s the best reading for me and this is done very well

All characters have infuriating bad sides and traits but all also have another side that makes you reassess them

I really enjoyed the look into the branding world and how it is evolving in the modern era and how trying to make a branding campaign for something ‘the youth’ think obsolete goes, fascinating and great insight from the author

A true pleasure to read and expect to see a version of it on our screens

A psychological thriller with such tension it made it an unputdownable read for me. My first Kate Ruby book and not my last, by any means!
Sasha Fulton is a woman with almost everything in life. She has an amazing job, an attentive husband, and two stepchildren. The only thing missing is her own child
She employs Jenna as her assistant. Choosing her because she wants to teach her and help her to move on and upwards in life. As Sasha begins to rely on and trust Jenna in work and her personal life, the question is, should she?
Brilliant throughout! Told by Sasha and Jenna, the reader is taken on a journey that is fraught with ups and downs. Both characters are drawn very well, and I felt myself swaying in between these women. One moment feeling for Jenna with her struggles to actually afford to live the next Sasha tugged on my heartstrings. One of my favourite characters was Georgie. The relationship she had with Sasha was so authentic that I could see the scenes playing out with plenty of step parents around the world.
This is a deliciously twisted tale. With every chapter, everything just wracked up. Tensions, emotions, and curiosity on how it would all fall apart. The seams of a life slowly stretching, and the reader waiting for the finale that we know is bound to come.
I recommend this to any psychological thriller readers out there. Thanks to THE Book Club Reviewers group for my gifted book in exchange for my honest review.

when jenna gets a job as an assistant for a powerful woman called sasha is everything as it seems ?

as the story unfolds the two women develop a strange obsession with each other, and the audience realises neither women are who they claim to be.

as much as this is a page turner, this feels like the typical thriller / mystery but it is still an enjoyable read.

thankyou so much simon & schuester and net galley for the arc. all opinions are my own <3

Somewhat predictable conclusion that was arrived at too late in the book for my liking. The antagonists motives were weak, so the ending fell flat for me

This is a very twisted story and one that involves manipulation. The author has woven a story about two women, one with nothing and one who seems to have it all.

Sasha has a busy lifestyle, she has a corporate job that involves helping with branding and running campaigns. She is married with two step-children and wants to have a baby of her own, but is struggling with IVF.

Jenna applies for a job and gets it working as Sasha's assistant, she has recently arrived in London and has just found a box room to rent and with a second job she can just about make ends meet. Her lifestyle is very different from Sasha's.

Both women have hectic lives, but there is a bit more room for manoeuvre for Jenna, she can provide more support to Sasha thereby making herself more invaluable. The two become friends, but there is still that professional boundary and there are times when this is reinforced.

On the outside, it looks like the women are very different, but they are actually similar in their determination and stubborn doggedness. Working together things are let slip into conversations and one gets more of an insight into the life of the other.

The author has brought together two characters and I have to say I didn't really warm to one of them and it shows the manipulation at play, it also gives a good psychological angle. The book starts in the present and then flits back to when Jenna arrives for her interview and then leads up to the starting point, but then the author takes it further which adds another dimension to an already twisted psychological thriller.

Working in the corporate offices, the author takes a look behind the scenes as such. Showing the toxic work life and how the risk of failure is higher than moral standards. It is all about success, it is power and money. Walking over people is one way to achieve and retain your position. But, once that is gone you are on your own.

This is a brilliant story and one that gets under your skin. The manipulative tactics, the subtle events and the way the author has brought the elements together are very good. It is one for those who enjoy a twisted fiction story with a psychological thriller edge to it and one I would happily recommend.

Everything You Have is a tense thriller by Kate Ruby with a cast of well-rounded characters who leap off the page. We meet Sasha Fulton who appears to have the life that many people dream of, but behind closed doors we realise that there is quite a different story. She and her husband are trying desperately for a baby, but Sasha has to face the heartbreaking prospect that she may never be a mum herself. Despite already having her husband’s children from his previous marriage to look after, Sasha is desperate for a child of her own. But while Sasha has all of this to contend with in her private life, someone else is watching her; her new, young assistant, Jenna, and she wants what Sasha has.

I really connected to Sasha, especially in the scenes when she is speaking to her doctor with her husband, about the prospect of becoming parents. I could really feel the emotion coming through her voice in these scenes, and I could see how frustrated she was. I did wonder how this was going to affect the relationship she has with her husband, and her step-children, who Sasha feels she’s becoming more detached from. I loved the scenes when Kate Ruby delves into these relationships and we can really see the character’s personalities coming through on the page. Her step-daughter has a really strong personality and this shines in Kate Ruby’s writing, especially when Sasha allows her to give a presentation on climate change at the company where she works. The scenes showing Sasha at work were fascinating and entertaining as well. I loved seeing how everyone’s mind ticked in the environment Sasha is working in; I thought this added to the suspense in the novel well, and it made me think that they were all out to get each other.

I loved how Kate Ruby kept upping the tension and I could really feel this as Sasha’s life begins to spiral out of control. Kate Ruby continues to deepen the darkness surrounding her characters as the plot progresses, creating even more tension.

I thoroughly enjoyed Everything You Have, and I’m sure it’s going to be a hit with thriller readers. I highly recommend it.

Jenna starts a new job as a creative assistant to Sasha. Sasha seems to have it all but underneath she is reaching breaking point but finds the answer to her prayers hiring Jenna, who does everything to help. Soon boundaries become blurred and things start to unravel.

This was an enjoyable work place drama filled with obsession and characters that rub you up the wrong way. I found the exploration of the power and class divide interesting and enjoyed that the story was explored using both voices of Sasha and Jenna. The characters and plot is well written and I found enjoyment in seeing the characters true personalities slowly come to light. I also found the setting being based in a branding agency interesting and different to the usual work place thrillers. I did find this was a slow burn and then pace dipped by the half way point, however I enjoyed the way it was written and the majority of the story. 3.5 stars rounded up. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy in return for an honest review.

One of the strongest aspects of Everything You Have is its rich character development. Ruby creates multi-dimensional characters who are flawed yet relatable. The protagonist's emotional struggles resonate deeply, making her journey feel authentic. Supporting characters are equally well-crafted, each bringing their own stories and perspectives that enrich the narrative. Readers will find themselves invested in their fates, cheering for their successes and empathising with their failures.

Ruby's writing is both lyrical and accessible, striking a balance between poetic prose and straightforward storytelling. Her ability to evoke emotion through vivid imagery and thoughtful dialogue enhances the reading experience. The pacing is well-managed, with moments of tension interspersed with quieter reflections that allow for character introspection.

The exploration of how love can be both a source of strength and a catalyst for pain is central to the story. Characters grapple with their sense of self in light of their experiences, leading to profound revelations about who they are and who they wish to become. The narrative emphasizes the importance of resilience in overcoming adversity, showcasing how characters find hope even in the darkest times.

Everything You Have by Kate Ruby is a beautifully crafted novel that resonates with readers on multiple levels. Its exploration of complex emotions and relationships makes it a poignant read for anyone who has faced challenges in love or life. Ruby's skillful storytelling invites readers to reflect on their own experiences while providing a captivating narrative that lingers long after the last page is turned. This book is highly recommended for those who appreciate character-driven stories filled with depth and emotional resonance.

A slow-burning thriller.

Sasha seems to have it all—a thriving career in branding, a loving husband (I really felt for him), two stepchildren (Georgie is a great character), and a beautiful home in an upscale part of London. But there’s one thing missing: a baby of her own. After a miscarriage and multiple failed IVF attempts, Sasha feels her world slowly unravelling. That’s when Jenna walks into her life as a new assistant. Their connection is immediate, and Jenna quickly becomes more than just a helper—almost a friend and confidant, or a “frassistant.” But as Jenna gets closer, Sasha begins to wonder about Jenna. The boundaries between employer/employee and the ever-tipping balance of power made the plot even tighter.

Told from both Sasha and Jenna’s POVs, this psychological thriller pulls you in and keeps you reading to uncover the truth behind Jenna’s motives. The ending ties everything together, leaving no loose ends and providing a satisfying conclusion.

Admittedly, I was initially impatient with the speed of the plot, but when it changed gear, everything accelerated. This was a hugely satisfying read and I can see why this book has been optioned for a TV dramatisation, it would make gripping viewing!

This slow burn thriller kept me guessing right until the very end. Sasha’s struggles to become a mum in her own right, the impact this has on her marriage and her problems with the complex dynamics of being a stepmother were well depicted. It was evident that as she revealed her insecurities to Jenna so she increasingly revealed her vulnerabilities too. I loved how the author describes how the boundaries between employer and employee subtly became compromised, how the balance of power slowly tips and the grip Jenna has on Sasha’s life gets ever tighter.
I also loved how most of the chapters ended in a tantalising, teasing sentence that adds to the sense of impending drama that’s about to unfold egging the reader to read on.
I’ll admit that I was impatient with the speed of the plot to start with BUT patience is a virtue and all good things come to those who wait….and my patience was well rewarded with a brilliant gear change that accelerated the plot superbly. This was a hugely satisfying read and I can see why this book has been optioned for a TV dramatisation, it would make gripping viewing!

This was my first book by Kate Ruby and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I was quickly captured a few pages in , the sign of a fantastic author. I could feel the tension building as I got more and more engrossed in the lives of Sasha the successful business woman and Jenna her mysterious assistant both with their own secrets to hide.
At first glimpse Sasha who is going through her own heartbreaking struggle to become a mother is taking the less fortunate Jenna under her wing and feels almost maternal towards her, but, is Jenna deserving of this.
The authors style of writing is excellent and she really knows how to make the reader experience all the feelings of empathy, anger, irritation and triumph her characters go through.
After all if the twists and turns I was really satisfied with how everything was perfectly tied up by the end of the book but am a bit sad it's over.
I could definitely imagine this being a TV show and would love to see a sequel.

Sasha Fulton seems to have it all—a thriving career, a happy marriage, and perfect stepchildren. But beneath the surface, she feels like she’s on the brink of a breakdown. Everything is becoming too much, and she’s desperate for help. Enter Jenna, Sasha’s new assistant. But is Jenna truly the solution Sasha needs, or does she have an ulterior motive to unravel Sasha’s seemingly perfect life?

Everything You Have by Kate Ruby is a slow-burn domestic thriller that explores the lives of two women, each devious and manipulative in her own way. Told from the perspectives of both Sasha and Jenna, this intriguing read is filled with enough twists and turns to keep readers guessing their motives and the true reasons behind their actions until the very end.

I would like to thank the TBC Reviewers Request Group & the author for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review

Looking in from the outside, Sasha Fulton has everything she could possibility needed, a great career in media, a happy marriage and perfect children. But to Sasha she's feels like she's having a break down, everything is getting to much for her and she needs help...Could Sasha's new assistant, Jenna really be what she needs to help her get but to normal or is there more to Jenna than meets the eye?
I love the storyline of this book, two women that wants what the other one has, both of them devious and manipulative. Are these women really who you think they are? I thought I knew what was going to happen, but I was totally wrong, plenty of twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages till the end

A gripping psychological thriller full of suspense which kept me hooked throughout. Sasha seems to have it all, a glittering media career, a happy marriage and perfect children. However, the truth is very different, she finds her job stressful, and the teenagers who are not hers are always stroppy. About to reach breaking point, Jenna turns up and appears to answer Sasha’s prayers. Jenna is smart, efficient, and helpful but, she is not the perfect assistant that she appears to be. With the lines between Sasha’s personal and professional lives blurring she feels that she can only rely on Jenna, but can she? This is a fast-paced story with an intriguing storyline, interesting characters and plenty of plot twists. All of which kept me up reading late into the night!

The truth lies beneath the facades. The characters are mysterious and kind of manipulative. Sasha has a perfect job, happy marriage and perfect family. While nothing is really perfect. As soon as Jenna walks in, Sasha feels that she can rely on her so she gives her the job of her assistant. But Sasha’s world begin to crumble down slowly and gradually. Unthinkable things happens and you won’t see the twists coming. As soon as the layers of mystery, secrets, and truth unveils, it changes the characters life forever. Narrated from two perspectives. The truth was twisted. I think this is a mind blowing psychological thriller.

This is a single white female kind of story and it was good! Both characters are likeable and you read through wanting things to go their way. I spent the 2nd half trying to work out the link between the characters and why Sascha was the target given the opportunities she was giving - everything came together in the final chapters, answering all my questions so a good ending. Waiting to hear if there will be a follow up since it was an open ending! 😊

Kate Ruby is a new author to me and the premise of the story was great.

Character wise, I liked Sasha, although a successful career woman, life was throwing hurdles in her way. Jenna on the other hand was just plain nasty and twisted.

A real family saga, with twisted undertones, however, sadly I didn’t connect with either the characters or the story. Although it didn’t compel me to read on, I did complete reading it. I’m sure it will appeal to some audiences but not for me.

I enjoyed this thriller, from the fact that it is the first I see with this type of plot, an office, work-related setting, where one of the characters is set to "get" the other from the beginning and, even if I did have an idea of what whe wanted to do, reasons kept me wondering all the way to the end.

I enjoyed this book so much. At the turn of every page I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the inevitable. This is a perfectly plotted story that slowly builds the suspense and story right until the very end. The characters are very well written and likeable and not likeable all in equal measure. This is definitely a recommended read.

Sasha needs a new assistant.

Everything You Have is a pressure cooker of a book. It shimmers with poisonous menace that builds throughout. It’s filled with manipulative, self-serving characters who get right under your skin and keep you turning the pages. This is a dark and nasty book and I thought it was excellent.

There’s an intense and claustrophobic atmosphere because of the alternate viewpoints of Sasha and Jenna. I found it interesting that Sasha’s narrative is first person as if she’s more trustworthy and important than Jenna and yet I found her equally manipulative and devious. The pendulum swing of viewpoint is mirrored by that of the reader’s feelings. Kate Ruby made me keep changing my mind about who was most at fault.

Indeed, I thought the characterisation was really well drawn. Sasha’s step-daughter Georgie is so empathetic and I had huge sympathy for her. Vulnerable and hurting, she becomes the lynchpin of action taken by Sasha and Jenna who both manipulate her for their own gains. She made me want to climb into the pages of Everything You Have and comfort her.

It’s obvious from Sasha’s end of chapter asides to the reader that Jenna is a threat, but why that is the case and what she truly plans only gradually becomes uncovered. Sasha is intelligent, scheming and Machiavellian. But so too is Sasha and the very company they both work for, Bright, is predicated on steering people, on making them believe in fabricated concepts so that there’s a real sense of justice as the story unfolds.

I was completely fascinated by the insight into corporate big business through Bright. Kate Ruby depicts the cut-throat attitudes, the internal politics, the pressures and the tenuous successes that all place pressure on individuals so that there’s an added layer of toxicity in the story.

It’s hard to review Everything You Have without spoilers. There are themes of family and identity, of abandonment and mental health, of belonging and revenge. I think the greatest success of Everything You Have, however, is the concept of manipulation. It’s at the heart of the story and Kate Ruby manipulates the reader incredibly successfully so that they finish the book wondering just what might happen next. I really, really enjoyed it.
