This has to be the most boring book out of all the series! Wtf happened?
I dont know if the vella thing just meant jb forgot that less is more and instead wrote chapter after chapter of utter mediocre romance but omg if this is what vella encourages I hope she goes back to her old style of writing. Cant see that though because at 0.50 per chapter and with 81 chapters plus 2 epilogues that would make this book on vella a staggering 41.50! Its also her most expensive book on amazon at €8.28.
Not even close to worth it.
Ok so what was wrong with it?
The premise was ridiculous. So larissa accidentally ends up in moons room, they have blind sex n she ends up pregnant. But they make a huge deal of not telling him who it was or her leaving? Its just weird , weak and so ott.
Then larissa comes back n all of a sudden they're living together. And what follows is word tripe. Seriously the most inane, boring, tedious self indulgent writing I've ever known jb write. And I can say that given I have every jb book, read and listen to my favs multiple times a year and have every audible book thats out too.
This is supposed to be comparible to train n killys book? Or cash, greers or luckys? Not close, not even remotely close. I honestly didn't even think it felt like it was a jb last riders book.
Moon- sigh, what did you do to this glorious character but turn him into a smultz? All the sexual prowess, gone. That predator energy, gone. That sexy af adventurous sex God, gone. His character was completely changed.
Larissa- meh what a fucking boring arsed woman for him. Jb tried to make her fiesty but it didn't come across as fiesty like Rachel, or sex piston, no it came across as wimpy, moany and BORING!
the back story which really only got going in the last 10% was rushed and disappointing. Minimal and we lose nikal n widowmaker, for what? a half arsed plot about marty being a gangster not a burger maker? Utterly bizzare and what a waste of great characters!!!
The sex- how the fuck can a jb book have boring arsed sex scenes? Shes the queen of hot n heavy, with a little naughty thrown in. Instead we got missionary, we got vanilla. Fuck me will the real jb step forward cos who the hell wrote this book?
What i liked-
I need to think....... Erm.....
Oh yes, seeing the other lr n wives, sex piston et al.
Erm....
I'm trying to remember some good bits.
There was a scene that make me chuckle but I can't remember the scene ffs.
I'm not even sure it deserves two stars and I paid €8.28 for this!
Save your money n get it on ku, its not worth it.
These interwoven series are some of my absolute all time series, 5 star reads that I go back to time n time again, trains book I must have read 30 plus times easy. So to say I'm disappointed doesnt do it justice, im fucking gutted!!!
I'm not sure if jb is losing her edge. But what was 5 stars of fabulous has turned into 2 stars of torture for those of us who are one click obsessed fans. Please don't destroy this series, its too good.
Let's just hope this is an anomaly.
Ps I've never seen so few reviews of jbs books at this, ever.

And again she greedly puplishes it on Amazon vella and praises every single chapter.
What a disappointment…… .
It seem‘s like she tries to puplish books with as many chapters as possible only to sell them as pricy as possible. The result is a long boring book, which isn’t worth the half of it.
He has a firm on his bike and same night she finds out he cheated, she does nothing.
She is a doormat. Why do you romance cheating. Why weak women in all your books. It's like you have the men cheat to make yourself feel like it's OK. Or to convince other women it's OK they cheat, they still love you.
The novel was too long and dragged that I skimmed read some chapters. Moon came across as wishy washy and like he was a different person from the series I.e. boring but still a ladies man. Heroine was confusing and annoying - taking whatever she can get until Moon had enough of her then she’ll be ok to let go 🥴
The below from the book at the end …ummm no who the heck wants someone like that 🫠
“No, she hadn’t needed Winter’s subtle warning about Moon. He would constantly be looking over a fence to see if the grass was greener on the other side, but she figured, if she kept him so busy making sure his own grass was green and trimmed, his own roots would become too deep to be blown away.”

I forgot how much I missed this world until I was back in it.
Moon and Larissa were made for each other. The filled all the cracks the other one had without even realizing it.
Moon was the man who had lost it all as a boy. He’d lost family and had to move from home in an attempt to find more. Now Moon is the brother that drives everyone crazy. He bounces back and forth between chapters for this reason…and the ladies love him. Even when he says he’s ready to settle down.
Larissa is new to Treepoint. She just moved recently with her sisters to open a clinic in the area for birthing. She’s smart but shy.
When she goes to the Last Riders clubhouse for a party and makes the mistake of going into the room Moon is sleeping in things get steamy. She bails right away and is horrified about what she’s done. Especially since her sister liked Moon and was crushing.
Moon and Larissa have more encounters around town that never go right and don’t make the other care much. Then Larissa finds out she’s to be expecting…..when the confrontation between Larissa and Moon goes down (because Moon thought Larissa was someone else in his room that night) she tries to tell him but he wants her to leave. So she does.
When he finds out to say he is upset is an understatement. He finds Larissa and convinces her to come back to town. He buys a house makes sure she gets a house, goes to the dr appointments, makes sure she gets her food and then helps her care for their baby and is genuinely a great dad. Too bad there has always been a secret still between them.
When Larissa finds out what Moon has done she tells him to leave. She’ll be sure to get a lawyer and get a custody agreement in place….and she’s devastated. Moon by this time had come to realize he messed up and made it right and now has to figure out how to face the music and make it right with Larissa.
In typical Last Rider fashion they are also trying to figure out who is stealing from them. In the process of this Larissa and the baby almost loose their lives. Moon tells her he loves her and explains what he did to fix it and when he did it and generally makes it known how he feels. He faces that demon of his to keep her and his child close.
The happy ending was amazing and I loved getting to see just how involved and invested all the brothers were in making sure Moon got his girl and kept her.
I love this world and I hope we get to keep going in it.

Really enjoyed moons book although i found both characters annoying at times. How was moon ever president when he was so self absorbed, moody and selfish. He never really apologised to her for the chastity thing or made good on having saffron on his bike even though technically she was his old lady at the time! He was really mean and berating at times to larissa and she got on my nerves by just falling into bed with him when he did things wrong. He got off too easy every single time.
That being said their story was flawless and heart wrenching. You really felt sorry for both of them. Larissa couldnt seem to do anything right and he gave her no room for errors either. Both had some growing up to do.
Moon really grew as a character in this book which i loved. You really felt him love for the first time with reaper on the cliffside.
I wanted to address the kindle vella thing as well. Im not sure it’s available in the UK yet and im glad. The pricing per chapter was ridiculous and i cant believe people paid it. The book itself from amazon was pricy but was happy to pay but would never buy into the money making vella. I think its a rip off and im disappointed that authors do this now.
Another installment of the Last Riders sees Moon taking the spotlight. For me the storyline was good but the book dragged on a bit Favourites were mentioned Not one of my favourite books
I‘m sorry but were Jamie Begley books always so full of typos and constant word repetitions? It‘s been some time since I read a book of hers.
Otherwise I’ve been quite bored and annoyed at times with the whole plot. But I still kept on reading because I’ve developed an attachment to the characters and the motorcycle club and the whole overarching plot (even though I haven’t read every single book) that I wanted to update myself on the last rider universe through moon‘s book.
But yeah, not one of the better books in this series. Oh, and the main characters were quite confusing with their personalities to me!
You can’t continue to expect me to believe JB is writing these books, still?? Come on!!! These original characters are not what she introduced all those years ago. I looked forward to this hooks for years thinking his book would be dramatic and he would fight being ‘womaned’ up all the way. I’m disgusted that someone keeps thinking I will believe this storyline was the vision of the author ….. if a family member wants to write for her then just tell us
Moons story starts off so heartbreakingly sad. But he proves to be such a D*ck in sooo many ways, he’s underestimated by a lot of people, but wow when his awfulness comes to light!! Yet, I totally enjoyed him having the “sympathy labour pains”⭐️⭐️⭐️ Larissa is a sweet soul, who does need to learn to put her foot down, and like most of the women; has bad luck and attracts danger!! She did make a few bad omitting choices when it came to Moon, hence his actions, but they both need to learn to communicate!! OMG when he went into full fight mode 😳😲😲😲
🤘how awesome that even more of the MC males are soooo scared of those BadA** B¡tches 😂😂🤣🤣🤪 💋that “Ulta Magazine”- I looked it up, it’s real, too bad not available in/for Canada😮💨 I love this series, and the mini series in it too! 🍀Aaahahahaahhaa, of course Lucky is a Pirate🏴☠️❤️💋
The loser bikers didn’t make sense though, what was the point of them?? A distraction from what was happening at the factory or what???? 🪦🥀R.I.P. Nickle, Widowmaker, & Pace
🤭There appears be a proper multi-series order…oopsie🙃 Oh well, I’m enjoying it💋

I've been waiting Jamie to write book with accidental pregnancy trope and did she serve? Oh yes, yes she did!
“You wanted to talk?” Moon’s eyes dipped to the swell of her belly. “The kid is mine.” “Yes.” His eyes bore into hers. “I wasn’t asking.”
As always, the storytelling was amazing and I was so glad to read how all my other Last Riders coupels were doing. I was especially happy to read that my favorite hillbilly was doing good! ❤️
Larissa and Moon were hilarious, they just worked as a couple. And all the questions I had (like why did Moon love Larissa and why her), were answered by the end of the book.
Always a pleasure to read Jamies stories. Hands out my favorite author!
Moon’s Promise is the Eleventh book in Jamie Begley’s Last Riders MC Series. But have no fear, if you are new to Jamie Begley’s novels or if you’ve fallen behind in the reading order, Moon and Larissa’s story can be read as a standalone.
Larissa never thought she’d have a one-night stand, but here she finds herself sneaking out of a member of the Last Rider’s bedroom with something that unbeknownst to her, belongs to both her and Moon.
Moon’s night happened like they all do, he had to much to drink, went home and slept with a woman in his club. But what he soon uncovers, is the woman he can’t erase from his mind isn’t a member of his club. So who the hell did he sleep with?
Fate has a funny way of revealing itself at the right moment. Moon is about to learn, all his dreams are about to be handed to him. The ball is now in his court, to make things right. But as we all know, Moon and his egotistical ways isn’t about to let Larissa’s sneaking into his bedroom and running off with the secret he placed in her, go.
My Thoughts:
Jamie Begley continues to grasp my attention with her novels. I love everything from the cover love down to the tropes. My heart knows it’s about to go on a wonderful journey at first sight. I have been waiting for Moon’s Promise to launch on kindle unlimited for a very long time. Moon’s story was sitting at the number one spot on my Summer ‘24 Anticipated Releases. What can I say, aside from, I love the world Jamie Begley has created within the Last Riders MC. With all that being said, Moon’s Promise was a great read that involved suspense and spice. There were a few moments that I absolutely adored, and there were a few that I needed a little bit more from. So let’s get to my thoughts on this novel.
First let’s talk about the characters, starting with Larissa. I kind of adored the meek vibes Larissa brought to this table. She’s soft hearted and soft spoken. Which widely differs from Moon’s personality. She has a kind heart and a kind soul. But, if you anger this woman, she let’s her fierce side show. I loved the fact that she’s a midwife, that’s an occupation you don’t see very much in romance novels. And I loved her ambition when it comes to helping women have the births they’ve dreamed of and not just the typical hospital birth. I was vibing with this woman and her career choice throughout the whole novel.
And then we have Moon. Moon is arrogant, egotistical, and thinks he can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, other’s emotions be damned. He is being tossed between two Last Rider’s MC chapters because neither Viper, nor Wizard knows where to put him. This man is arrogant and trouble! And I was here for it! But herein lies the reasoning behind why I dropped a star on my rating for Moon’s Promise. I absolutely HATED the way he treated Larissa. Sure, there were moments he seemed sweet on her, but with this man, EVERYTHING felt calculated and manipulative. And threatening to take a baby isn’t the way to warm a woman’s heart…. UGH! There were so many moments when I wanted to reach into this novel and slap this man upside his head… Every sweet moment, had me questioning does he mean it or is he playing her. My mind and my emotions were in a constant whirlwind state. At the end of the day, I could have dropped another star, but I loved the back and forth play on my emotions! It had me that much more invested in this novel, this relationship, and this romance.
I enjoyed Moon’s Promise. Shade is still my favorite, and will probably always be my favorite, in this series. But there were aspects Moon brought to this novel, like a hint of vulnerability that he never let show and a hint of wanting to belong, as every human craves. I also adored Larissa’s personality. But there were moments I wanted more of. Like more sweet moments between Larissa and Moon that didn’t lead to sex. But overall, this was a great read.
3.5 stars. Let me preface this by saying this is not a standalone at all. So don't even try. Anyways, I'm conflicted with this book. While I understand why JB did Moon the way she did, other readers were upset about it. Moon's personality we've seen in previous books was a front for how he really felt and I don't think readers understood that unfortunately. I did like him, but he will always be that character wondering if the grass is greener on the other side. But I don't think that phrase includes women. Though I will warn you. He does cheat once. Not twice like some other reviewers stated which isn't true. The opening plot honestly was ridiculous, and honestly thought was going to turn into sexual assault from the h Larissa who I very much disliked for Moon. She basically went into his room while he was drunk and had sex with him, but it's something she'd never done before. 🙄 So if we're to believe it had a paranormal aspect at the end that again was orchestrated by the Coleman brothers. Larissa was annoying as hell and TDTL I guess because of her IQ being in the beyond genius category or something. Moon himself was supposedly gifted intelligently as well. Now the cheating that happened and will have you questioning Moon's spot in The Last Rider's MC. The club used him to seduce women and actually one man I remember from Reaper's book to get information. Here he kissed and went to first base with a sales clerk named Chastity of all names. 🙄 Will he do that in the future like he did here? Only JB can answer that later or not. As she does tend to skip over explanations of thing's that have or have not happened which is extremely frustrating. Also, this book was entirely too long. Some chapters could have been left out honestly. But a lot does happen. Other thing's that annoyed me were we're given this horrible prologue of Moon's life and he murders his stepfather for killing his step siblings. We know he had an ok relationship with his mom, but she's never mentioned again. We never know how old Larissa is. And she never asks or knows Moon's real name? I can't understand how the author would leave out that detail. Oh, and Moon is Hawaiian and I had no idea until this book. Overall it was ok, but being as long as it was and details left out shouldn't have occurred. His name's Devon btw. On the plus side we saw more of the other LR's, and I was reminded how much I hate Killyama and her biker bitches. Honestly they can ruin a book if they're included too much. But as the writing has dramatically changed from the first few books I'm worried about the next generation. For one. Once a LR is with his woman he'd never cheat on her, but from Doom's book plus this one I'm guessing cheating may be included a lot more. I mean do we need it here? There's enough open sex and orgies to go around to last a lifetime. And I'm reading for the connection between the MMCs not everyone getting off at the same time. Oh, before I forget Moon was into major spanking from previous books, but we didn't get even a smack here. One question I do have though is what Greer said about Nickel who died. He said he went somewhere that he'd never come back from. Is that hell? I mean where? Of course, JB never went into detail 🤷.

Who doesn't set and wait impatiently for the next book in this awesome series? Moon has been anticipated for so long that once I started it I couldn't put it down. Was there things disappointing about this book, of course. For the most part it likes going to the family reunion and someone always has to be an ass, and in this case it was Moon. I would say for the first half of this book I couldn't stand him. He was so absorbed in himself that he treated everyone like shit. Even his brothers were to a point of wanting him out of the club. He couldn't take anyone's advice because he thought he knew better. Which in most cases came to bite him in the ass. He has a knee jerk reaction to every situation that usually just showed him how much he didn't know. He knew he was good at getting women into his bed but his problem was keeping them there. As for Larissa I was disappointed that no matter what he did she was just overcome with lust that she let him get away with it. When they were being intimate and she stopped him because she knew he wasn't into it so she changed who she was to make him want her in that moment. I do hate when some main characters get killed off. Especially when you were looking forward to their stories. There were quite a bit of LOL moments that I really enjoyed. I was a bit disappointed in the epilogues. Normally we get what happens with the couple years down the road but this was just a few weeks after the last chapter. We did find out that their "meeting" was planned. Maybe not in the way that they had planned but it all worked out in the end.
Omg I never in a million years thought I would give a Last Riders book a 1 star. This was so disappointing i truly felt like JB was writing about another person, he was not the Moon we have experienced in other books and I really felt like this was not JB’s writing who body snatched her, it felt rushed and like there was no heart, grit or real Last Riders style put into this book. It had funny bits with the banter with the 3 sisters in first 10% of meeting them, then bam it just plummeted like a wet towel.
Moon ~ what the hell was she making him into, god I started to hate him and didn’t see him as a true member of The Last Riders just a prospect just trying to get in with the club thinking he was a Hard nut and it going wrong. Come on sex with a condom then it goes missing, he would be pissed thinking someone was trying to trap him etc. he just excepted it and oh look she’s pregnant.
Larissa ~ just a boring character and no one in all clubs held her accountable she was just forgiven a free pass to do a biker over. Yeah right!
This whole story was rubbish and not believable in a biker context.
I have no more words then don’t waste your money on this book it’s not a Last Riders book it’s I don’t know what this was. Late night tapping on the laptop of Gobbledygook.
I love The Last Riders and can re-read them but this was totally rubbish and broke my heart reading to the end
I waited for this book for such a long time. I didn't even read the chapters that were being released. To be honest I didn't have high expectations going into this book because I read reviews that didn't give me much hope about the book. Well as it says never judge a book by its cover, I'll say never judge a book until you read it. ( but I still read the comments and reviews of others.
I love this book it was such a good read, and I love meeting the whole gang again; after finishing Moon's Promise I went back to read Razor's Ride which started this whole journey. This book had everything angst, suspense, camaraderie, friendship, unity, romance, love, pregnancy, support everything I love in a book. I'm a sucker for a surprise baby and this was the first one in the series when I expected quite the opposite.
Moon was different than what expected him to be, At the beginning of this book, OMG my heart couldn't handle it. I also hated him at times for his commitment issues and how self-observed/ self-serving he was, can't imagine him as a president for Last Rider but still a good read. Contrary to others I love that this book is long, that I got to spend more time with the whole biker gang.
Can't wait for the next installment.
PS. I skip around the scenes that are overly sexual; I'm all here for the storyline and the HEA
What happened? This is not a Last Riders book. Did an imposter write this? 1) The story was lame. The last few minutes of the book was the most interesting part and it was hard to understand and kind of chaotic. 2) The writing sucked. Someone please edit this book! There were words used incorrectly, the tense was often wrong, the actual grammar was horrible in spots, and often the wrong verb was used, (like were instead of was). This drove me crazy, and I never experienced this with previous JB books. 3) The characters could have had more dimension. The female character was sooo boring and meek. She tried to become feisty when she got mad, but compared to how JB usually writes feisty women, this character never makes it. The poor main male character basically had his balls cut off in this book. He did not have any of the LR qualities. He basically didn’t even ride his bike like a biker! He was rough in the beginning but then became this uninteresting, quiet, moody guy that wasn’t really into this woman having his baby. Before the end of the book, he realizes that he loves her. Really? I have read all of the LR books and this one seems like it was written by a completely different person. Please make the next one better.
When buying the book it says 641 pages for 8.99 when it's actually 534 but Moon's story ends at page 518.
Shades book actually retold previous books with some new stuff from his POV and that one was 5.99
Not sure why the Author has decided to up her price so much. I DEFINITELY won't be buying the future books if the prices remain OUTRAGEOUS!!!
Now about the story it was about 250 pages too long, was pretty boring for the first 45% so I found myself skimming.
So much back and forth between Larissa and Moon. Just FYI he does cheat he has the part where he removes some body from around him in bed that wasn't Larissa this happens after he stated he wanted a relationship with her. Also he kissed Charity and did a little more.
Best part of the book was the Banter with Killyama and Larissa, and the Mountain scene.
Silas looking forward to him, but why couldn't he warn Nickel? And why did you have to kill Nickel off?
Moons story did not go how I imagined it at all, but what a last ride it was.
Moon watches his brothers find love and start their family's and is desperate to start for a family of his own.
Larrissa is a doula and a proud one at that. Her and her sisters have created a company and pride themselves on the care they give their clients and their partners. And had no interest in parties or lovers or so, she thought.
Who knew Moons and Larrissa's story would go the way it did, hiding in a dark room Larrissa finds her self in a strange position and that position is flat in her back with a very s#xy biker that her sister was hoping to pull between her thighs. Fast forward a month or so, Larrissa finds herself in a very, very sticky situation. An Moon is on the huntbto find his mystery bed partner, and that nearly costs him his sanity and his brotherhood.

I've waited for this book for over a year. I used to check for a Jamie releases isevery time I picked up my kindle. I was so used to reading one of her books every two months, it was an addicting desire because I loved her stories so much. When I realized her new book was on Vella I was determined not purchase it. Why you might ask. My attention span does not do well trying to remember a story chapter by chapter when I'm reading books in between. So moons promise is out now and I grabbed it. So many of the same characters it feels like you're coming home. It was an okay story not 1 of my favorites. It was well written. I found it a little boring at times As it seemed to drag. I didn't care for the Main female character. Although she was professed to be very intelligent, she lacked common sense. Very poor communication between the 2 of them.
This is a hard review for me I couldn’t decide between 3 and 4 stars. I love the world and the characters created I just found moon a bit of a let down. Nothing in previous books prepared me for the fact he was an ass hole ! A lot of the last riders have tendencies in this direction but they always felt redeemed Moon only felt something close to that right at the end and even then I’m not sure tbh. I still got to the end and wasn’t sure who he really was. Larrissa similarly she wasn’t unlikeable as such she just didn’t leave much of an impression one way or another and I felt she had real potential.
It’s a very long book but I didn’t feel the character development was there.
Something missing for me but it won’t stop JB being an automatic read for me
This story was just okay. Nothing was really explained about the criminal shit they were trying to figure out. Was it theft? Was it something else along with theft? All this buildup and then nothing really makes sense and then it’s over. Larissa is a bit of a wimp, mostly. Her mother is a bitch that needs to be written out of this story. Her sisters are okay, but they’re all bland as plain dry toast. Moon never really tells her his name or past. His mother never is involved and he’s a bit of an idiot. It was as if the author phoned this one in. I wish she’d just keep working on the books about the Colemans and not go back to TLR because these aren’t nearly as spicy or compelling as her other books. Also, they are clearly not hiring the correct editors because the frequency of the errors has increased dramatically.
Moon was a prick, Larissa committed sexual assault, but I couldn't stop reading it.
2 stars, after all the stuff that went on, I do wish we would have seen Moon become more romantic and open up to Larissa. I don't think he even told her his real name, and what happened to his siblings? Also what about his mum? I also wish the sex would have been better, Moon was such a good character from previous books. As well as that, Larissa was a bit of a wet lettuce. It's like Moon would have been better off with her mum. There was a lot of words, and stuff that happened, but not a lot of romance or communication happened between the couple. It didn't need to be this long. Also the latter half of the book had so many typos and spelling mistakes? Very disappointed tbh, doesn't have the same feel as JB's books
Once again Jamie Begley has knocked another instalment of the Last Riders MC series out of the ball park .
I can't get enough of this series. I love the characters so much and the way the author brings the story together keeps you turning page after page after page.
Moon has so many issues that a magazine couldn't keep up .. His life as a young boy was so hard and my heart went out to him when tragedy struck . Turning him from a young boy to a man with a mission . And no one would ever hurt him like that again and that was a promise.
It was so good to catch up with previous characters from the series and it totally makes me want to do a re-read . I look forward to the next instalment of this wonderful series.
Moon's Promise is the 11th book in 'The Last Riders' series and I felt this had a little bit of a different feel to the others I have previously read and absolutely loved. I still enjoyed this story and the guest appearances by the other characters we have grown to love that appeared through out this story. I thought Moon's character was complex and interesting as he had a completely different outlook after his childhood to the others in the club. It did take me a little to warm up to him and Larissa but felt there was a lot of things happening in this book that is possibly setting up other storylines for the future. I didn't guess who was behind the mystery that was trying to be solved and enjoyed the epilogues. Looking forward to what will be happening next in this series!!!
I started reading this thinking “Yay, another Last Rider book” ! Now, all I can say is WOW! I loved every word and read most of it straight through. This has a gunfight, mystery theft from the club, a mystery woman’s sexual encounter with an unknown biker, a long ago promise comes true, and characters Last Rider Devotees love as well as some others that have become special. This is a marvelous addition to the series. I am looking forward to the audible…as long as it is not AI narrated. Highly recommend the book and the series. The author outdid herself. Loved this story.
There were moments I wanted to pop them both in the head. Other times I thought Moon was too immature but wait keep going it is totally a great read. I do wish some mode depth was giving to Moon earlier and some more insight into his past overall. With that being said it all comes out in the end.
I still don't have a good understanding of the theft. I also have no idea who Silas is maybe I would if I had read the other books in the series. Who knows it was worth the time and if I wait 2 months I'll probably go back and read the whole series since this book won't be so fresh in my head.
