All of the Atopia stories are 'sidequels' that begin at the same moment, running side by side in time, so that you can start by reading any of them and then read the others in any order you choose to slowly reveal the mystery and terrifying danger that connects them all.

About the author

Matthew is the million-copy bestselling author of CyberStorm and Darknet, and the hit series Nomad and Atopia Chronicles. He started out his career working at the McGill Center for Intelligent Machines, going on to become one of the world's leading members of the cybersecurity community. In between he's worked in a variety of start-ups,everything from computational nanotechnology to electronic health records to weather prediction systems. He spends his time between Montreal and Charlotte, NC.

This is the third short that I have in this series, and this one did move a little slower than the previous two. that being said I felt this one was the most revealing of the books thus far.

I am going to take a break and stop listening to books simply because I have a feeling the story is about to get very technical and will require my attention.

I am very impressed at the world the author has built and it is not what I expected at all.

This is a very well done series that I encourage you to try out.

I had great hopes for this premise

I had great hopes for this premise based on the title. Sadly, what I found was boring with no action or anything but the main character talking about himself.😖😓😴

The third volume in the Atopia series, after Blue Skies and Childplay. I enjoyed the story, though it was a little more difficult than the first two. Requires more of a commitment to wrap the brain around, but was ultimately worth it, and who doesn't need a little brain exercise, anyway? I am hooked on the sidequel concept of each story overlapping with the earlier ones . . . not only is it original, but it functions as a gentle reminder of the other inhabitants of Atopia, and their stories. I can't help but imagine Atopia as I read, and find myself getting lost in the world Matthew Mather has created. A great read, and I look forward to the next.

This one isn't my favorite so far. I definitely liked the first two stories in this series better. I guess I just don't connect that well with spoiled, selfish millionaires.

I was mostly enjoying this story up until the end - I didn't really like the conclusions that the main character comes to about being at peace with his lifestyle, and the epilogue disappointed me a bit. I was kind of hoping there was going to be some crazy past time lord or whatnot, now it looks like this will just play out as a power play and betrayal.

I hope the next story is better!

Not quite as much fun as the first two but still these worlds are amazing. The author really set out to create something unlike anything I've read before, and succeeds!

Really enjoying the parallel between the stories. This wasn't my favorite of the first three but it was still worth the listen!
