The way I actually enjoyed this despite it being extremely fast paced and their relationship being practically built on instalust. Very rare for me.
He was so attentive when it came to listening to her hobbies, and the fact that he read her short story — while understanding the true essence of what she wanted to convey through her writing? That’s just so adorable.
It was only a short book, so I can understand the pacing. Had it have been longer, and the lust was toned down, this def would’ve been a 4 star for me.

This one was pretty good. A solid 4 stars for me.
Mafia romance is my favorite and add in the fact that this had ZERO OW drama made it even better. That’s super rare in any book these days.
I am on the fence about how I feel about the characters. I liked Alina. I liked how she didn’t take shit from the men in her life who wanted to control her and she was a little feisty. There were some times that she annoyed me. She had a little bit of BBS going on but I didn’t hate Damien so it wasn’t too bad. Also every time there was a sex scene all Alina said the whole time was “please, please, please.” I was like bitch please what??? It annoyed me. I honestly don’t get why authors use please so damn much during sex scenes. I’m always like please what? WHAT DO YOU WANT?! It’s a mystery to me lol.
Damien was mostly likable. He had his moments where I thought he was kind of an asshole but he wasn’t cruel and he didn’t treat her badly. If anything he treated her really well but it annoyed me when he would disappear for days and not contact Alina and then she had to be the one to reach out.
I wish the conflict would have happened sooner. It was at 95% so it was super anticlimactic and I wish we would have gotten the love confession sooner as well. It was on the last page and Alina said it first which I didn’t love either.
I was going to read the next one but I just read a review that the FMC walks in on the MMC having sex with someone else so this is where my reading stops with this series!

She was a likeable woman. Alina is loyal, brave and intelligent. She does everything to keep her brother safe and I appreciate that.

This was exactly what I expected and what I was in the mood for: a short, entertaining mafia romance with smut and a possessive male character.
The plot is not that deep and easy to understand. The writing style is good and fluent. Everything is fast paced cause of the short length of this story. Still the plot was well done and everything was well connected.
Alina and Damian have good tension although it was a very insta lust relationship. I liked the fact that they talked a lot and opened up to each other. Both are protective and stand their ground against each other. I liked them together.
Overall I had fun reading and this book kept me entertained.

Better than most mafia books.
For such a short book it had to be fast paced. But sometimes it was too rushed.
If the mansion was such a fortress, how come it was easily invaded?
A tank of a ‘bodyguard’ who reads Harry Potter …. ?
The mafia plot was paper tin, it could have a little more gravity.
There is a lot of storytelling, a lot of scenes are told briefly just to get them over with and sometimes placed at random (when his family was described during a rather tense situation). Also the flow of the plot can improve (they were already at the boat, then it went backward to them leaving the condo and onto the helicopter to arrive at the boat again).
Alina was another empty character who ofcourse had done nothing with her life and has no friends, basically non-existent in the world just waiting for Damian to appear.
All the talk about loyalty and respect gets me everytime when the person wo drills it into his sons cant be loyal to his wife and doesn’t respect her. Good thing the trash was taken out very quickly.
At least we were spared other women drama and cheating. Author deserves some credits for that.

Godfather references, Mafia enforcers with a reading habit, hot smex...what else could one want from a Mafia Romance?
I wouldn't classify this as a dark romance, but it's definitely a satisfying Mafia Romance. The MMC is a baddie, and he's good at his job of being a Mobster boss #2. Even though the story beats may feel stale, it actually unfolds in a fresh way, and once the steam gets going, it's steamy....the way Damian controls sex was 🥵. Alina makes reasonable choices, thinking things through. She is not a submissive, but she knows good smex when it's nice, thick, and holding your wrists. The story moved quickly. The suspense was a nice touch, and it did feel like a Mafia story. All great points. Some tags we love:

Mafia + casino = me, fully invested.
Unfortunately the spice came on a little too strong, a little too fast. It didn’t feel entirely authentic but I still really enjoyed the characters (Alina in particular). I also recognize that it’s difficult to create a slow burn when the book is just over 200 pages, which I did feel was the appropriate length for the plot, and which I was super into to.
I’m really excited for book 2 (I’m very curious about the pairing given what happened in book 1) and I’m thrilled to see book 3 is out in November, so I won’t have to wait too long!

I loved the fast pace and character building in this book. I love the protective/family nature of the main characters. That they will do anything and everything for the people they love.

A quick mafia novella that had darkness, sexy times and an interesting plot! The characters were nothing ground breaking but I liked Alina and Damian. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series with Nicole and Leo

What a great short mafia romance!!
I think this book covers a lot of my favourite tropes in mafia genre!
It’s rather short but nothing feels rush. You have the feisty heroine who makes rather good decisions (at least no dumb move from her part)
The mafia boss who goes berserk when someone touches her (mine!!)
Forced proximity
Great second characters
There is a plot!
There is steam 🌶️🌶️ but if it’s insta lust they don’t act on it like animals! They actually talk together!!! Then some actions.
Really good book and I can’t wait for the other brothers!!

Mafia romance is my favourite genre and basically the only one I read. This book was pretty good I would say. The world building and variety of characters is a highlight of this book. I love how the author makes each character unique and the Russo family is soooo good!!
For the MMC, His character is very well done and I like how the author stays true to his character. For the FMC, she is sort of true to her character but sometimes not. She is depicted as a strong capable women who is basically this tough girl and isn’t really scared of anyone due to her past. But when she’s with Damian, I feel like she become some what if a little bitch sometimes which can be annoying. I feel like if there was more back and forth of her struggle to be able to let go and submit(?) to Damian, it would’ve made sense and would’ve been really good but since the book is shorter, there wasn’t really time for that so instead it just made her seem like a pushover to men.
The 🌶️ scenes were really quick and repetitive which I don’t really like. I feel like there needed to be more dialogue and taking us through the scene because it was like one minute there kissing and the next there done. Again, all of this could’ve been improved if the book was just longer.

This book was a light entryway into the Mafia world. Story is between Damian & Alina. Damian is a mafia prince, a huge family guy, & is on a reVenge huNt for his daddio's unaliver. He is tatted, brooding, protective, & morally grey 🫶 Alina is independent, smart, loyal, & a bit sassy 👏 She is running from her douch-bag ex, & ends up at Damian's casino. She sees her big brother Markus there & finds out he's made a huge mess getting into an enormous debt to Damian. Brothers huh 🙄 Damian being completely smitten by Alina, decides hey, I'll just take her as collateral 🤷♀️🤦♀️Their story then dives head 1st through a twisty & thrilling game of who-dun-it filled with secrets, blurred lines, & smokin hot spice! 🔥 Damian & Alina both fight their feelings & have big trust issues but fate always finds a way & they get their HEA 🥰

My first book by these authors and holy moly! I did not expect to love it as much as I did. Kidnapping/captive tropes are not my favorite trope because (for me) it easily goes into territory I don't like (ie: the MMC treating the FMC like crap with no remorse for his actions or respect for her). That is not the case for Damien and Alina. Yes, there are a few instance when he's fighting himself and his feelings for her because he thinks she has information about his fathers murder and is possibly working with the enemy. But even then, the struggled with his behavior towards her. Even though he was supposed to hate her and she was his captive, he treated her with tenderness and care that he didn't understand himself. The part where he comes to blows with Leo - absolutely amazing. His realization that he will fight his blood, his family, for this woman was so well done. I kinda wanted Leo to pull the sheet and have her naked just to see what Damien would have done. Alina proves herself to the entire Russo clan when she dives in to "save" Leo.
Absolutely enjoyed this book cover to cover. The extended epilogue was just the icing on the cake. Although, I'd have loved to see Damien in Papa Bear mode with a pregnant Alaina or a baby girl. I'll take either or LOL.

Entertaining and fun read! 3.75 Stars 😘
I was really debating between giving this book 3 stars or a bit more, and finally settled for 3.75 stars. As a mafia themed book there was nothing really unique or original about it. The story is pretty entertaining with a bit of intrigue, mystery and hot steamy scenes. It certainly needed more character development and world building, but for me, what made this book really enjoyable were the characters. I really liked the domineering, morally grey and take-no-prisoners MC Damian and the fierce, smart and sassy FMC Alina. It was great to experience their love, loyalty and connection to their families. Overall, a light read, with dark undertones, a bit of gore and plenty of steam. Enjoy! Please note, this book can be read as a complete standalone, even though it is part of a series.

Alina and Damian
This is a great beginning to the Vegas Vicious series. Alina is in Vegas with a guy she doesn’t want to see anymore and a job that she really doesn’t like. To add to it, she has a brother, who is her only family, that is constantly in trouble or looking for trouble.
Damian is prince to his mafia family. He loves his dad and brothers above all else. He spots Alina at a casino and he falls first and hard. A lot of things happen with his family and the other family that controls half of Vegas but Alina is in his thoughts. Her brother gets in a jam and Damian has his chance with Alina.
The story is good. The spicy scenes are there with a side of dominance. A couple of twists turns near the end of the story. The bonus epilogue was amazing and sweet. A definite recommend that only takes a few hours to read.

Wow, this was one hot book. Got lost for in the underground world of Las Vegas with the Russo’s and the Ivanov’s. Lots of action during the conflicts of the two families in the story. 4 really gorgeous but all different in their appearance Russo brothers run under their father Salvatore Russo. Damiano “Damian”, a gorgeous Demon-Angel has Alina all twisted up. See she came across the Russo’s when her brother called her to bail him out of a bind and sent her straight into the vipers den.
Go on an action packed, lust filled, adventure with the Gorgeous but dangerous men of Las Vegas. Becca Kane has a way with words to transport you to the mafia world.

Twisted Fate is the first book in the Vegas Vicious series . It was a captivating and intoxicating mafia romance. It was unputdownable and I was hooked to the story from the very first page until the very end. The story kept me with action , suspense , brilliant plot and great characters. I was invested in Damian and Alina's story . Damian is a mafia prince and Alina's brother Markus owes a huge debt to him which he cant pay . Damian decides to take Alina, who is the sister of Markus as collateral . These two are attracted to each other but would they both get HEA or not . A very well written and enjoyable story . Can't wait to read more books in this series and the author. Highly recommend it .

Quite Vicious
I have read these stories in the wrong order..#3, 2, 1 and even though i found this book to have the most mafia type violence I still liked it best of the three but do be prepared for graphic violence and murders. Also a lot of explicit intimate scenes. It is the relationship between the two main characters that appeals to me, both will do anything for those they consider family. Damian says family comes first but when it comes right down to it his love for Alina puts her first over his blood family. She is an outsider, not from a mafia family so he tries to let her go or at least let her decide whether she can live in his world or not. Alina and Damian are both strong characters.

Her brother lost five hundred thousand dollars and was playing double or nothing. He lost and Alina had to stay with Damian until her brother came back with the money. This is a great story that will hold you till the end. It is a page-turner with lots of twists and turns. I had a hard time putting the book down just to get some sleep. OMG!! Wow, This was one exhilarating book to read, the storyline was incredibly captivating and the characters were deliciously dark. This is about Damian Russo and Alina, Damian is a Mafia Prince he's a dark ruthless criminal, he was playing card when he seen her. Alina is lovely a heart of gold and a love for her brother, her brother is an addict who has a debt to big and Alina has been kept at Damian's house until he pays his debt. Damian and Alina their chemistry was deliciously alluring, and twists that will get your adrenalin pumping.
