Pack Favero: North Five University

Rate this book
Welcome to North Five University, an institute that nourishes health, wisdom, and happiness.

Zira Favero has fought for everything in life, hardships her constant companion. Raised by a single mom, no pack for structure, and constantly moving from one place to another, she’s shocked when she finally lands her dream job as a librarian at a reputable university.

Shocking her further is the professor that works alongside her at the university. The professor with a lethal smile he only shares with her, who seeks her out in a filled room, and pulls her into a life of grandeur and opulence.

But it’s not the pretty things and fancy food that rocks Zira’s world. Oh, no. It’s the Alphas that form a pack around her the moment she steps a foot into an alien world she doesn’t believe she belongs in.

Determined to make her see that she’s the thing they’ve all been missing, all five of them are forced to work for the gift that Zira brings to their unfulfilled lives. The gift of love, connection, and passion.

Will Zira finally lower her defences long enough to accept the men who would give up every single penny for her? Or will the hardships she’s had to overcome finally trip her at the last hurdle, when everything she could have wished for is finally in reach?

This book is a part of an RH Omegaverse world created between two authors. Each book contains scenes best for an audience above the ages of 18. All books are standalones, and don't necessarily have to be read in order.

The tale of two FMCs.... Kinda

This book is the best of the series but does have some of the same struggles as the rest of the series with inconsistencies in the story arc and poor editing. If you're looking for a fast read with some decent humor, this is one to consider but don't expect perfection.

What this book did very well, leaps and bounds better than any other in the North five u series, is 1) the guys who are all interesting and likeable from their first word on page and 2) the antagonist arc which was perfectly done (great foreshadowing, great build up and the most perfect FMC vs villain resolution I've read in a long time). Honestly, I loved Alek, Laz and Barnes in Silver's book and they got better in their own story. And anytime the FMC gets the to save herself I am here for it!

Unfortunately what isn't so perfect is the FMC. Do not get me wrong, Ms Favero is a good female character overall but, she flips personality very abruptly. I started the book thinking she was absurd because her thought process regarding Barnes and males in general was inconsistent with the background she told us. Distrustful would have been a reasonable attitude towards men but she was written as almost fearful from the first time we see her in Silver's book. Then suddenly, she has one chat with her mother (who should NOT be trusted with any relationship advice) and boomshakalaka, guys are a gift from the gods! It's just bizarre. From that moment forward though Zira is a truly awesome FMC.
There are some other inconsistencies in the story, mostly minor things like she says she couldn't go to college but somehow has a librarian position in a college - librarians are a degreed position, and I suspect at a college level they would expect Masters degrees just based on the setting. As mentioned, the editing in this series is poor quality. This book was better than the others but early chapters were sprinkled with a high number of errors. It got better later in the book but the author should consider investing in some better proof readers because it's annoying to try and parse out what they actually mean when entire words are wrong.

DNF @ %20

After highlighting half of what I read with annoyed notations, I called it quits.

The writing is extremely clunky and repetitive, the interactions are beyond awkward, the timeline and flow are just... weird, and the periodic attempts at campy similes and metaphors feel like a desperate attempt to distract from the inadequacy everywhere else.

Multiple POVs can be great, but not when the author uses them as a lazy way to get around having to tell a more complex story to get the same information across. Everyone's POV sounds the same - awkward clunkiness and all - and frankly I just can't past being dropped into what feels like the dead middle of a story, with a whole host of relationship and world building which apparently occurred wholly off-page.

There are a lot of unknowns that will probably be revealed later on, but I just don't care... the author already lost me.

P.S. Can people please stop using the word "mutter" for everything? Mumble, grumble, murmur, whisper, grouse, rumble, drone, moan, breathe, sigh... pick some variations! Christ on a cracker.
Get a freaking thesaurus.

I really enjoyed this book, and honestly, all three of this author’s North Five University Omegaverse books. The FMC, Zira Favero, is introduced to us in Pack Baines, but only as a minor side character so this can definitely be read as a standalone.

Zira is a greatly written omega. She struggles early on in the story, as she’s not quite sure if she wants a pack. But once she changes her mind and embraces the pack that is interested in her, all bets are off. The result is a super sweet and steamy Omegaverse story, with just enough drama to keep things interesting without overtaking the story.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well written and developed, making for a really good read!

better than I thought it would be, never read the previous ones and I won't. It still read like a standalone, some of the characters from the previous books appear but nothing left me confused. I liked the characters although the fmc gave me whiplash, I almost dnf'd because I did not like her for like 20% of the book, then she has a turnaround and is a completely different person for the remainder of the the book and I liked her after that and the banter she has with the guys but her reasoning for her off-putting personality at the beginning was hard to understand, didn't really make a whole lot of sense to me, it was stubborn and rude... the guys and the spice were 👌 worth the read... saw the bad guy coming from a mile away.

DNF at 16%. What an awkward, clunky book.

For some reason, this book skips the first meeting of the characters and jumps right in to the middle of a relationship that isn’t fully explained.

Then the FMC is the most annoying ultra martyr in existence. Two of the MMC’s pay for her mom’s medical care (which her mom hadn’t pursued because they couldn’t afford it), and now the FMC is mad. She can’t trust anyone because… I don’t know why.

The author makes an effort to explain, but it makes zero sense. Her mom was broke had a lot of boyfriends. The end. That’s the whole background.

Also, the editing is awful. This book is missing basic proof reading. There were misspelled words and typos everywhere.

Good to the last page.

This book shows how sometimes our past can leave memories that are not what they truly portrayed. Zira felt all men of wealth were not to be trusted. She thought she had to be
the only one to care for herself and her mother. She was fiercely independent. When Barnes and Laz stepped up and paid for emergency medical care for her mother, Zira was angry and tried to pay them back. The struggle was on between the alphas and the stubborn omega. There is love, laughter and even danger in this romance. This pint size omega will surprise you. I highly recommend this book.

I didn't get too far with this book. It didn't really grab me from the beginning - mostly because I thought the lady doth protest too much & the alphas, while I understand dedication and loyalty, either felt like pushovers or they were desperate, to put up with her behavior.

I also didn't love that the FMC's mom couldn't seem to hold down a job & had a whole string of unsuccessful relationships, to support herself and her daughter - and she seemed to be pushing her daughter towards the alphas, once she got herself into a facility (paid for by aforementioned alphas).

Overall, not for me.

Zira annoyed and frustrated me so much with how mad she was about some of the pack paying for her mom’s medical bills. I would have understood if it was a random stranger that did it because then that would make it uneasy too but it was someone who she is friends with. There was no need for her to ice them out, instead she should have demanded a repayment plan while still remaining their friend/omega.

Also, this series is riddled with cringey moments but those moments have always been fun up until this book. In this one, the cringey aspect was just too much for me.

Okay story

For me, this book was just okay, nothing exciting and nothing new. I did not like the FMC for the first 20%, and it was hard to come back from that. The horrible way she treated those men after the very kind thing they did to help her just really bothered me, and I never really got over it. I saw the plot twist coming a mile away, so it just was meh for me. It wasn't horrible so a 3.5 star read, could be good for a palette cleanser type read

This was really sweet. I liked all the guys (especially Alek, give me alpha Thor any day) and the banter was adorable. While I kinda agree that Zira did a pretty hard heel turn I get it. It's completely different to be comfortable with strange overbearing men than the men who actually strive to make you comfortable.
There were a few typos but not enough to make me mad, just some to notice and overall I really liked the story.

*3.5*

- MFMMMM
- Twins
- Stalker
- Rich MMC’s

I just didn’t think this book was super interesting. The story was okay, but the characters seemed to be lacking some character development and the way the relationship progressed seemed very abrupt.

If you are looking for a quick and easy read that won’t stress you out then this book could be a worse choice, but don’t expect a book that has you on the edge of your seat or kicking your feet.

So this is the second time I tried and failed to finish this book. I couldn't stand Zika the first time thinking it was just my attitude. Definitely not my attitude since I tried again and still don't like her. She was ungrateful and showed no kindness to the people that just saved her mom's life. They even got her into an amazing care facility that she got angry about. I just can't read anymore of her whining.

Great Read

This was a cute read with a dark twist.

I loved seeing Zira owner her walls for the guys. They were all so good for her, and patient with her. Zira is secretly a total baddie which made me so excited.

The banter in this book was funny and adorable… and some was deliciously spicy.

Story 3.75⭐️ Spice 3.25🌶️
This book was infinitesimally better than her others in this series. I actually enjoyed this one. There were still typos and wrong words, but it didn’t detract too much from the story.

Three and a half stars. Not bad, but the blurb may be better than the book.

But every time Alek called her little lady I heard it in John Wayne's voice. Not good, (shudder) but didn't affect my rating.

It was so nice to see Zira (librarian we saw briefly before) get her HEA! The guys were amazing and sweet (*obsessed*) with her and of course...there's a bit of drama (but don't worry - not too bad and nothing within the pack).

Quick read. Love the North Five University series. Great job!

Holy freaking run-on sentences. So many “paragraphs” that are just single sentences, really took me out of the story. And it definitely felt like some MMC’s were favored over others.

I loved Zira and the pack. I loved all of them really.
I do kind of wish we had a little bit more backstory on Hunter the crazy lol.
I loved the whole series.
I do hope that this is not the end of the series and that more stories get added on or short stories.
