Welcome to North Five University, the best place to become who you’re meant to be.
Escaping her unbearable parents and the future mapped out for her, Silver Gage accepts a place at the fancy school hours away from the lavish life she was thrust into since birth. There she has a chance to reinvent herself and be the person she’s always wanted to be.
With a job as a DJ at a local club already lined up, a house bought close to her cousin, and her school schedule at the ready, Silver is ready to make a life for herself without the influence of her parents or their wealth. Without the forced blind dates, not so subtle digs about her style and career aspirations, and the constant pressure to live up to the expectations that hang over her head every single day. What she’s not so ready for are the five strangers that stumble into her life, needing a helping hand that she’s willing to provide.
Only problem? They hate her on sight, only seeing a pampered and privileged princess instead of the woman dying to be free to live her life.
When Silver offers a deal they can’t refuse, it becomes glaringly obvious how wrong they are about her. And it’s only a matter of time before these enemies turn to lovers. But can Silver fight against her parents hold long enough to finally get what she’s always wanted? Or will her family drag her back to a life she never wanted, no matter if it breaks her heart in the process?
This book is a part of an RH Omegaverse world created between two authors. Each book contains scenes best for an audience above the ages of 18. All books are standalones, and don't necessarily have to be read in order.
JJ resides in her very own land of fantasy created by many a daydream, reality often nothing more than an ancient myth. When she isn't lost inside her own head, she's buying one way tickets to procrastination station, where she stays watching Disney movies, reading amazing books by incredible authors, eating all the food she can get her hands on, and falling down the rabbit hole that is Pinterest, seeking inspiration for her next book. She occasionally adults when the need calls for it, where she looks after her babies, both with and without fur.
I really enjoyed this book. This is the second Omegaverse book I have read by J.J. Dean and both have been five star reads for me. Her books are thorough and thought provoking, with really well done characters. You could read this is a stand alone, but Pack Baines and its characters are so awesome, you really should read it as well!
Silver is amazing. Truly. She is the sunshiney omega type, with a sunny disposition and a willingness to help others. That willingness to help is what starts out our story and it ends up with Pack Larsen renting space in her house to live.
The guys in Pack Larsen are great. They include several alphas, a beta and an omega. Munro, the beta, is the best friend of Juniper from Pack Baines. He is a grouchy storm cloud type of a guy, and his personality creates a lot of drama in this book.
It is heartwarming to watch Silver and her pack come together. Silver just wants to be loved and honestly, her pack just wants to love her and it’s a beautiful story. I absolutely adored this book!
This book is the best of the North Five series so far. I LOVE Silver. Pace is intriguing. Haze and Aero are likeable from go. Rage and Munro become book boyfriend goals. The problems with this book is sloppiness. There are inconsistencies with the universe the authors have built which annoy me, worst of which is changing omega anatomy just to add a twist. Second is the double omega pack in a pack of heterosexuals - especially with a dual heat, the male omega will not have the required attention/assistance to get through. Glossing over it by skipping the scene does not make the oversight disappear. Lastly is the sloppy editing. I harp on this because the entire series is being pushed out quickly and has issues with lack of quality due to the rush. It makes for a less enjoyable reading experience. Which is unfortunate since Silver is an amazing FMC. She deserves absolute perfection in her story but instead I'll be remembering three obvious errors and one weak sentence on the last page.
Omegaverse, enemies to lovers, college setting, why choose, found family, and more! There was drama, humor, lots of feels, and lots of steam. I loved Silver. She is kind, has a huge heart, and is unapologetically herself. Aero was probably my favorite of the pack, but i did eventually love all of the guys. Even the broody Munro. 😉 My favorite parts were seeing the relationships between Silver and the guys change and grow. Overall, I think it was a great read!
This story was pretty okay. I like that despite being Omegaverse, there weren't fated mates, scent matches, etc. Strangely enough, the designations hardly seemed to matter at all in this book. The alphas don't seem more dominant than the others, exactly (though there was an "alpha bark" used once), and the only thing to really stand out is that alphas have the knots and omega males still have a heat. Besides that? Doesn't seem to matter.
The plot is simple enough in this book. A pack of guys need a place to stay, and they're desperate. Silver takes them in at her house, though the guys are reluctant to. Their beta, Munroe, has a huge issue with her, despite her never doing anything. One of the alphas, Rage, is super wary and judgmental of her, as well. She tries to be good with them but feels it's no use. We learn why the two guys in particular are uncomfortable with Silver, and they work to make it up to her. We also learn about Silver's past with her family.
I noticed quite a few issues in the book. Wrong words used and spelling mistakes made (example: 'Knight' instead of night, 'things' was spelled 'thighs,' 'sight' was spelled 'sighs,' etc.) There was one time where the term "every drop" was written three times in two sentences (Context: "She drank every drop," basically). Also, in the book, it says near the beginning that Silver is a beta when she's clearly an omega. It also called a different character who doesn't actually appear in the book but is an important point in someone's past an alpha when apparently they were an omega. (Munroe's ex.)
The book needs to be gone over at some point and polished up a bit. Besides that, it actually was a pretty good Omegaverse read! Not a LOT makes it stand out except for the fact that the male omega is ONLY with the FMC (this is something I searched out before hearing about this book) and the designations aren't too important, but I'd still read it again one day.
This is my favorite book in the North Five University series so far.
For starters, I loved the unique omega x omega relationship between Silver and Aero. 99.9% of the time, omega mls are romantically with the other mls in a pack. So seeing Aero have heart eyes only for Silver, the FL, was a unique twist and a breath of fresh air.
Some people criticize the author for this relationship dynamic, but who says there can't be a hetero omega x omega relationship? The author never explained in details about the world building and lore, so let's assume it's possible in this OV world.
I also really loved Silver's character and personality, as well as the idea of poor vs rich fueling the enemies to lovers trope.
I did take off a star because I would've liked to see more of the guys' struggles on a personal level. For example, how did Aero cope with being an omega without seeming to like anyone before Silver (he said he never had a crush before and he seemed to not be interested in dating until Silver)? What did the everyday life look like for the MLs (since they were all juggling multiple jobs and responsibilities)? Did they struggle with their mental health due to the stress of responsibilities? I feel like there was room to get to know the guys on a deeper level, but we didn't get it.
I also didn't like how Silver's mom was dealt with. She was scared into leaving Silver alone, but how long would that last before she bothers her again?
Although it says in the synopsis this book is a standalone, it is but…it kinda isn’t. Technically I’d say it’s a standalone but tbh, there seemed like so much history between them, all before page 1. A majority of the pack comes ready-made to hate her because of something in another book it seems. It’s kind of a big deal if that angst is used to fuel the conflict for over half of this one. If by some miracle I end up being wrong, then this book needed more context.
It was nice seeing the female as the rich one. The men were fine. Also kind of forgettable.
The whole thing is just…average. Good, nothing awful about it, easy to read, not long. A decent in-between book
I loved Silvers story. I really did and Aero! I even though there was all happy together and how the pack was I still kind of feel like Aero kind of got the short end of the stick in some ways. Because none of the others are really have that type of relationship with him even though he's an Omega too. But to the way the characters come off in her interpreted fits everything about the pack and the personalities.
Much better balance than my last review. I did skip to book 4 because I wanted silvers story so badly. And will probably skip to book 6 for the same reason. Good mix of plot and spice. Funny how miscommunication worked out well. Early on and even before the book started these characters had miscommunications. I loved her job too.
Oh this is my favorite of the saga, it corrects all the issues with the last 3, the characters are not boring, the female lead is consistent with her attitud, the male leads have different personality, the story has a good ending, the spicy scenes were *chef kiss* and the story was well written. I liked it a lot.

Author says that she wrote 75k in 5 days and it absolutely shows. It was ok. Needs a bunch of editing. No relationship development. And let’s add a male omega for variety but we don’t want any MM so let’s just omit the heat so we can say they’re all straight. 🙄
The writing is all over the place, especially at the beginning. The book is very boring with a meaningless plot. The main characters are not very likeable, too. They are just hating each other for no reason at all.
It’s great to read Silvers story. It started out rough, but the Larson pack got there shit together and asked for a do over. But there was a lot of hurt feelings made that had to be reconciled first. Finally I loved the HEA!!
and so it her pack. I literally LOL’d at several parts. The story was a little predictable but if funny comfort smut is what you’re looking for, this is it.
Great story line and great characters!! Loved how the main character got what she asked for. The Larsen park was great with their attitudes and feelings together.
The angst is a little predictable and a bit wordy at times but overall a good read. I love that there are continuity between the characters in the series.
