The Rookie Mistake was SO HOT 💗🔥
I read this in one sitting, and the way I need Zara's confidence as a woman... agh 💅 Davis and Zara meet at a charity auction where Zara bids on Davis to be her date for the night. Little did she know she was going to insta-fall in love with him. EACH PAGE WAS SO CUTE AND SPICY 💕🌶️ Seriously, I’m still shocked by how much I loved it! The book is filled with amazing scenes that will keep you engaged, and next thing you know—BOOM, happily ever after 💘
It's the perfect novella after reading the Orleans University trilogy, especially when you already met Davis in Walkoff Wedding!!
Nothing says 5-star read like a man who falls to his knees for you, and let me tell you, he falls multiple times 😏

I am absolutely obsessed with Zara. Her personality is hands down the best! I have loved the timid, awkward female characters in the past but Zara’s feistiness had me in love! And DAVIS? Oh my goodness. From the first scene of him on the stage I knew he was going to be downright delicious! I love love love these two together! Their chemistry is undeniable and I loved getting to see these two not help but fall for one another!
“When I think of my future? It’s Zara. Of all the uncertainties the future holds, I know that part for a fact. She makes me better.”
This was the perfect novella- a quick read, full of banter and spice and everything nice 😌

I need Zara to be my bestie because I want to live vicariously through her. Davis & Zara are two people who are completely comfortable with living spontaneously. The date he takes her own was so freaking fun! ✨
Both leads are comfortable being exactly who they are and I found that so refreshing! Davis was caught up in Zara’s orbit right from the get go and he matched her energy every step of the way.

This is a fast burn, high spice, and low drama story! There were a ton of great “good boy” moments. The spicy chemistry went both ways with these two! Maren outdid herself with this novella. She made me fall in love with these characters in half the number of pages as her full length books. This was such a nice way to get another story set in the world of the Orlean'S u series.

Proof that I can always count on a Maren Moore read for a good time 🤩
This novella was sooo fun and steamy! I was just obsessed with Davis & Zara’s dynamic together — they literally call each other ‘Loverboy’ and ‘Trouble’ like?! 🤌
Zara has this alluring, confident energy about her, and seeing how well Davis matched her vibe no matter what she threw his way was just the best thing to witness. They were so perfect for each other, and I loved how they went from having spicy, fun times together to realizing they wanted each other in their lives forever 🫶
I could’ve read a whole book about Davis & Zara, but this novella was perfect and exactly what I needed so I can’t complain! I adore the Orleans U world, and I will always take anything I can get from it and leave with a great time 😌

This novella was so much fun. In true Maren Moore fashion, it’s sweet and spicy (and I do mean 𝕤𝕡𝕚𝕔𝕪🔥🥵). 𝑹𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒆 𝑴𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 sucks you in with a whirlwind romance and manages to have you falling as fast and hard as Davis + Zara.
I loved it and I loved Davis + Zara. Tell me how Davis, the MMC, had me giddy and blushing from the very first time he speaks in this book?! Swoon. Zara was a total powerhouse and quite literally brought Davis to his knees. They were adorable together and the fact that they call each other Loverboy + Trouble?! So dang cute. Their dynamic was everything!

The Orleans U series has come to a close with this very quick and spicy novella! This one can be read as a true stand alone but I definitely recommend this whole series for all your fun, flirty and spicy college baseball needs!
Zara and Davis were SO fun 🤩 they were flirty, sexy, funny, spontaneous and such a good pairing. I loved Davis in the last book and was so happy to see more of him! Zara was WILD — confident and self-assured. I want to be her. I loved him and Zara together - their chemistry was off the charts hot and this one will definitely be one of those re-reads when you need something quick and spicy to carry you through!

I’m not usually a fan of novellas but I really enjoyed this one & finished it in like 3hrs. I’m so glad Davis got his own story🙌🏼 This book focuses more on the couple & their dynamic, & it’s very much spice > plot, so if that sounds like something you’d like, or if you want something quick, super short, fast-paced, deliciously sexy, fun, lighthearted, & spicy, then this is the perfect read for you👏🏼

this was such a fun novella! i’ve loved the books in the orleans university series that i’ve read so when i saw this i knew i needed to read it. it was a quick read, fun and spicy and just overall a good time! zara and davis were made for one another, even if it means bidding $1,000 to go on a date.

I can always count on any Maren book to be a good time and she did not let me down with Rookie Mistake. This was full of 90s romcom sprinkles and mine 90s heart loved every second of it.
This one was short, sweet and packed all the spice. This is exactly what you need in a novella and I was so happy to see Davis get his own story. I always knew he had a filthy mouth. Zara was his perfect match. She fun and sassy, confident and wild….exactly what Davis needed. I loved how from the jump they were just drawn and obsessed with one another. This was absolutely spectacular and exactly what I needed to get out of this reading funk I have been in.

This novella had me hooked from the very beginning!! It was so cute and fun and flirty and I just was basically giggling the entire time — this was such a perfect mini continuation of the Orleans U series!
Davis and Zara were so much FUN! They both had such golden retriever energy which just made everything about their banter and their relationship so cutie. I feel like especially for a novella it can be really easy to make scenes and character development feel rushed, but this one honestly had such amazing pacing that it really didn’t even feel like a novella??? Everything just meshed together perfectly.
The date night from the beginning of the book was also OMGGG the cutest thing ever and it was so so fun. I loved this novella and I loved Davis and Zara so much!!

i mean this with so much love for maren when i say this but sometimes you need a quick lil novella with not much plot (i’m not being mean she’ll admit it’s not plot heavy); it’s such a good cleanse in between books & a great way to get out of a slump if you’re in one! maren always delivers & this was no different!

I loved this novella!
I’m so glad our boy Davis got his moment but in even more obsessed with getting to meet Zara!!
This novella was short but packed with sweetness and spice! I loved Davis and Zara’s relationship and build up. The way Zara stoop up to her brother when he started meddling too much. I love seeing toxic family members be out in their place and having FMCs stand up for themselves.
I’m so sad that the world of Orleans U has officially come to an end though 😭 Thank you Maren for taking us on one last ride.

I literally read this one sitting! Maren pens her books with a little bit of magic and well obviously romance (loads of it) and I had the biggest grin on my face the whole time I was reading Rookie Mistake! And I cannot get enough! Was this more spice than plot? Kind of, but sometimes that is just what we need.

This was a fun, spicy novella diving back into the world of Orleans University. A date with the player auction turns into a life changing night for Davis and Zara when they find how strong their chemistry is. They are even more surprised to find out Davis’ biggest rival on his baseball team is his new obsession’s brother.
Zara had such a fun, wild personality that consistently surprised me. I like how spontaneous she is and finds the fun in everything she does. Davis is immediately wrapped up in her charm and can’t help but fall for her. They bring out the best parts of each other and seeing their relationship develop was so sweet.
Maren always delivers on the plots and spice, even in her shorter stories. This was the perfect novella for my reading slump!
