Propaganda Wars: How the Global Elite Control What You See, Think, and Feel

Rate this book
In Propaganda How the Global Elite Control What You See, Think, and Feel, New York Times bestselling writers Glenn Beck and Justin Haskins uncover the secrets behind the greatest system of control and manipulation ever created.

In the twenty-first century, wars are no longer fought solely with guns, tanks, and missiles. Today’s warfare is dominated by tactics that have a much greater chance of destroying our nation and eliminating liberty—namely, widespread manipulation and misinformation.

The enemies of freedom, both foreign and domestic, are now using advanced technologies and misinformation to erode trust, sow division, and fundamentally transform the United States.

Americans are angrier and more divided than at any other time in modern history. Basic facts about biology, economics, and history have largely been forgotten by massive segments of society. Increasingly, more young people hate their country and its history. And new technologies such as artificial intelligence and deepfakes are only making these problems worse and more disturbing. If the situation doesn’t change soon, the United States will not survive.

In Propaganda How the Global Elite Control What You See, Think, and Feel, New York Times bestselling writers Glenn Beck and Justin Haskins uncover the dark truth behind the biggest sources of misinformation in America as well as provide a hopeful vision for the country’s future.

Beck and Haskins also give readers a step-by-step guide to identifying and deconstructing past, present, and future propaganda efforts as well as the research tools required to become warriors for truth in the years ahead.

America is facing an unprecedented assault on truth, and it’s tearing the nation apart. We can no longer afford to sit idly by while the world’s biggest propaganda wars rage on.

We must join the fight—or else be destroyed by it.

I wish it got more into the nitty gritty of propaganda as a whole and not just the authors biases against the left. I didn’t learn anything from this book.

This book has a wonky sounding title, and I know that (and the fact that some people have already decided they hate this author) is going to throw people off and they will never pick up this book. And that's fine. But if you are ok reading things from a different worldview than your own, and you pick up this book, you can still keep your own worldview and gain SO MUCH from this book. It is funny and very well-researched. Obviously this author doesn't care for President Biden and he makes little jabs at him once or twice, and obviously this author doesn't agree with progressive politics or progressive world views, but the concept of propaganda and it's adaptation to the digital age and into the age of Artificial Intelligence is fascinating! There are examples from both sides of the aisle and from countries all around the world. I was curious to read this book and see how much of the author's own propaganda I could find in it. I'm familiar enough with him that I know that even though he obviously has his own bias and agenda, he really is a seeker of truth regardless if that fits with his personal narrative or not, so I wasn't terribly worried about him spinning things are giving half truths. I just really enjoyed this book and the information I learned and the Russian and Chinese bots and the AI deepfakes and whatnot going on. (I mean, I don't love THOSE things, but I am grateful I'm more aware of them.) I am on a kick about reading up on finding truth and this book is a guidebook for how to navigate the polarized political (and general) world we live in with a healthy does of skepticism where necessary, but always seeking to find the root, the original source, the truth, instead of just going with what feels right to you because of your own bias, or what "everyone" is saying, regardless of who they are. So it's been fun to read these things from this particular perspective.

I really wish people didn't already decide they knew everything about Glenn Beck and decided that he is this or that. I think a lot of people are missing out on some phenomenal information or insights or perspectives based on their own prejudices. However, at the same time, I know there are certain political pundits or actors that I have no interested in reading because I've already made up my mind about that so I can be fair, even if I do try to regularly read things from other worldviews than my own. And, lets be honest, not everyone CARES about the things this author obviously feels very passionate about, even if they unknowingly share the same viewpoints and perspectives as he does. I honestly don't care about a lot of things so I'd hate for people to feel sorry for me for "missing out" by not reading things I think are boring.

Still, this book was really good!

And I'm currently reading a book from someone with a VERY different worldview than Glenn Beck who is saying the exact same things and even referencing the exact same groups and I'm pretty sure there was the exact same quote in both books! So there's that for you. We really are a lot more alike than we are unalike when we get to our roots and core values. And the core value of this book is not being deceived and divided in a digital age that houses governments and entities that really are trying to manipulate how we feel about each other.

Propaganda Wars by Glenn Beck is about how the mainstream media and foreign actors use propaganda and disinformation to control the masses. The purpose of the over the top stories is to provoke strong emotions so that people cannot think clearly. This is especially true about social media such as Facebook, Tik Tok and X. For the mainstream media it is all about the narrative. Any story about the Democrats is spun in a positive light while stories about conservatives is spun in a negative way. The book begins with a bang where chapter 1 is called "welcome to clown world". The book opens with a dysfunctional left that is imposing its will on the American people with the assistance of the media. The story isn't the story, but the bottom line is supporting the revolution. Glenn Beck discusses how Russia, Iran and China use social media to push their agenda on the American people including influencing local elections. In the future it will be difficult to ascertain what is real and what is not with the rise of AI. Beck also provides some tips on how to get to the original source if that is possible. The book is well written and footnoted. This is a book that is worth your time.

Glenn Beck opens by explaining how, in so many ways, we are now living in a ‘Clown World’ in which little makes sense, and how America is in serious danger of losing itself. In addition to death and taxes, he points out a third item that is almost certain in this world: “There will always be attempts by those in power to expand their wealth and control over society.” He explains a four-part strategy used by the elite ruling class working hand-in-hand with what he calls the Propaganda Industrial Complex, in an attempt to manipulate your thoughts and behavior, and what needs to be done to combat it.
As with most of his books, Beck includes a few history lessons, as well as numerous examples to support his points, and hundreds of footnoted citations. Much of this will be no surprise to readers of his previous books, or listeners of his talk show. However, this book shows how the ‘propaganda wars’ have not just continued since Covid, but increased in technological capabilities (think sophisticated algorithms and AI). A somewhat disheartening book, but definitely worth reading.

Excellent insight. If you love and respect America, its founding, its ability to correct wrongs, its system of rights and liberties, this is a call to action in this age of deception, technological control, and an unknown artificial intelligent world where no one can trust their ears or eyes. The only way to refute this book and its position is to be opposed to America and agree with those pushing the great reset. Which is the super elite, wealthy, powerful, and connected people of the world who are changing the world with ESG, DEI, and social justice. You would basically agree with a world of control, controlled speech, controlled thought, controlled lives. Because you believe there are smarter, better, more capable people to run a planned world than each of us living our lives doing good and being good. Powerful book. Read it, do your homework on the footnotes, and then try and refute its premise.

"Propaganda Wars: How the Global Elite Control What You See, Think, and Feel" is a great addition to the growing collection of materials regarding fake news, misinformation, and propaganda, It is created from the unique perspectives of media veterans Glenn Beck and Justin Haskins, giving it an "in-the-moment" feel as it unveils the behind the scenes maneuverings of stories consumers of modern media know well. This well-researched - and well lived - book has an almost evangelistic appeal that provides a broad perspective on the strategies and tools used by modern propagandists. What it lacks in depth it makes up for in motivation.

I found the perspectives to fresh and thought-provoking. If you want something a little bit meatier, also read "The Smear: How Shady Political Operatives and Fake News Control What You See, What You Think, and How You Vote" by Sheryl Attkisson.

Ok but there are better books on the subject

This book is good for someone who has recently been red pilled and wants to get up to speed. It does not have as many new ideas as his book on the Great Reset. If you want a more sophisticated treatment of propaganda, read the two books on The Tavistock Institute. One is free online. The othercis available in Kindle format. Just search on this term to find them.

Very good explanation and review of issues in America with values, beliefs, direction -driven by leftist leaders. Great information. A bit too much on Glenn Beck talking about and pumping up himself.
