It's been challenging getting back into reading comics after a long hiatus but this book reminded me of how much I love comics, it's silly, it breaks the fourth wall a lot, it's filled with funny references and has a surprise in every chapter. Like Gert fighting her variations or making fun of the way she curses. I do miss Skottie Young illustrating though but this artist still rules.
What a wild ride which took some ridiculous turns which for some reason I never saw coming. This book is just as depraved as the ones before it and I don't know why I expected any different 😅.
Easy page turner with stunning eye catching art. some of the full page artwork is beautiful despite being bloody carnage. Skottie Young is an absolute madman.
Felt a bit more like a tribute book than a true continuation, lots of things don’t really match up well with previous volumes, time travel also messed with continuity. Overall it was lots of montages and an okay story but by no means a complete one. Inconsistency in the art details also bugged me, for instance the ‘fluff off’ on her shirt is only there for like two panels and then simply forgotten about. So while it was fun to read, it left me questioning a lot.
I love this series so much. The art is such a visual feast for the eyes and the story is such ridiculous fun. Will forever buy the singles and the big books. The most fun one can have reading funny books.
