A short foray into a fantasy realm with Black Fox and Bitterbind. This story is really but a glimpse of what I expect is a much larger world created by Leanbh.

It is fairly cookie-cutter fantasy world building, with the exception of the relationship between Black Fox and Bitterbind.

I do wish we had a little more time to explore the bond and magic that surrounds these two characters.

The writing at times is poetic and paints vivid imagery, at others it is quite basic and there are editing issues that can be rectified with another pass over by an editor. These are mostly small typos and grammatical issues and don’t really detract from the story, but do unfortunately detract from the professionalism of the paperback copy I bought.

Would I read more by Leanbh? Yes, I can see there is a rich fantasy story and world just begging to come alive on the pages.
