When old secrets are revealed, she has to decide whether she is willing to give up life as she knows it, or the one thing she always longed for–her true mate. And for once in his life, Christoph is certain of one thing…he can’t live without her.

Fun Read!

I really enjoyed this book. It’s full of interesting world building, fun characters, and a great plot line. It was nice watching Lena face her destiny, with help from her friends. Can’t wait to read the next one.

I love the flow of April's writing, it is always so easy to read and fall into, this time she tried her hand at paranormal romance and totally nailed it! The story gives us fated mates, forbidden love, and a strong female lead which are always on my wish list for stories. April creates a world that is modern but also set in old ways, so we get to see transitions not seen a lot in books, we see relationships that are both period and modern as we get introduced to characters. As always April gives you all the feels and pulls you in with her writing, and you can see the relationships already formed and have a true understanding of main and side characters as well as root for the romance to begin when the two leads finally meet. I don't want to give too much away but if you like wolf shifter romance, all the feels (including spicy), and a good plot line this needs to go on your TBRI This author is quickly becoming someone who when I see she has a new release I add to cart. |

Breathtaking

As always please read trigger warnings and this book is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. That being said, on to the actual review. 

This book had me captivated from chapter one. It's a period piece meets modern day wolf Shifter Romance. It's set in modern times. However, the wolves' leaders won't let them leave the Middle ages. Leaving a complicated fated love for the main characters. Even more complicated friendships. 

There is amazing world building and even better characters. Some wildly fierce heroine's in this book! Also some no misogynistic male leads. It's a very refreshing new fantasy that will become one of those series I will be following for some time to come. I need book 2 right now! I need to know more.

What an amazing read! April D Berry is an auto-buy and auto-read for me, as she is one of my favorite authors, and I just can't ever get enough! Blood of the Daughter has fantastic world-building and character-building, being heavily character-driven from start to finish, and leaves you anxiously waiting to find out what happens next!

I loved every character in Blood of the Daughter, and with the story including fated mates, supernatural aspects, shift changers, and everything in between made the story unforgettable and superbly written.

Thanks so much for sharing the world of Helena and Christoph and all of their friends with us (especially Calliope as that's my baby's name and so uncommon!), April, and I simply cannot wait to see what's next!

April D. Berry is testing the waters of the pool called paranormal romance. And I am here for it!! This fated mates, shifter romance is fantastic! I fell in love with the characters on page one! Even the side characters are amazing. As true friendships are shown as well. Loved seeing that! The writing is superb. The story flowed nicely. Definitely A Favorite Read of 2024!!

This is my first book by this author and I AM COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY!!!!

I love wolf shifter stories and paranormal romance, and the FREAKING GORGEOUS COVER made me super happy, so I decided to buy this beautiful book by this fabulous, new to me, author. I am so glad I did!

This is a very unique, well written shifter story. I was hooked by a few pages in. The writing just draws you in and the pacing keeps your attention throughout, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. This book lit me up inside and made me never want to leave this world. I wanted to be friends with the characters and fight with them. I wanted to be a shifter and find my fated, it was written so that we experienced the intense feelings and emotions of finding a fated one. It was beautiful and intense.

The treachery and pain hurt my heart. The warmth of love friendship and found family soothed my soul. The torn feeling of wanting to fight for the people and wanting to run away, made me feel troubled. I was completely sucked into the story and didn’t want to come up for air. It was a delicious escape from real life.

I’m going to miss these characters so much while I wait for book two. Ms. Berry has won me over and I look forward to checking out some of her other books. Her writing is so amazing! If you enjoy wolf shifters, romance, friends and found family, shifters and humans coming together for an important cause, and fighting for that cause…YOU. WILL. LOVE. THIS!!! AND LOOK AT THAT FREAKING GORGEOUS COVER!!!!

AMAZING! I've read a lot a paranormal books and this one had the same concept with the shifters but the story was so different! It did end on a cliffhanger though, and I am heartbroken about that lol.

Chris and Lena story was definitely one from the Gods. And his love for her?!? He's simply amazing! Lena's relationship with her maids proves that not everything is based on your bloodline or royalties. Sometimes it's about the individual bond you create with other people.

This book was honestly more than I expected and I cannot wait for the next one. The writing was so good and very easy to get into. It's maybe a 2/5 spicy but between the action, feelings, and storyline in general; it all fits together so well! April truly outdid it on this one! And I can't recommend this enough.

Obsessed doesn’t even begin to cover it!

April D. Berry is one of my favorite indie authors and when she said she was stepping into PNR I couldn’t wait to read it! The world building is so well done and the characters all connect and coexist together perfectly! We all know I’m a sloot for a good character arc and this book had several!

Lena and Chris make me so happy but I have to say I was so much more afraid of something bad happening between Lena and her friends because Ana and Callie are the best, most badass, ride or die besties and I love them! Honestly I got attached to almost all of these characters and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next one!

This book was so good. I couldn’t stop reading it. At some point in the story, I wanted to throw my tablet at the wall. I got so upset with a particular character. If you read this book you will know who I’m talking about. I was so engaged, that my feelings were taking over me. I couldn’t stop reading. I had to keep going and the ending was slightly a cliffhanger. It was also satisfying until I read the sneak peek for book 2. I was like oh my god why did I read this part. Now I’m so mad because I need book two ASAP. I’m dying to know more. I definitely recommend this book, if you love wolf shifter, strangers to lovers, fated mates, spice, forbidden love, etc.

Forbidden love, fated mates, betrayal and heartbreak.

A gripping fast paced and suspenseful spicy paranormal romance.

She’s a wolf shifter, he’s human, love between them is forbidden by her societies laws and they both face death if they act on their unbridled attraction.

While a huge portion of the story is concluded at the end, there is a cliffhanger to lead into the second book in the series.

This is the first book I’ve read about this author, and it will not be the last!! The characters were well developed, and the storyline was intriguing, suspenseful, and exciting. Lena is the wolf Princess and it is forbidden to mate with humans. It just so happens that her fated mate is a human, Chris. Lies, betrayal, secrets, and forbidden love, what more could you ask for in a book? I can’t wait for second book of the series!!!

Lena is a princess but not just a normal princess she’s the princess of the Western Wolves. He’s a human but also not and her fated mate. They are destined to be together however there’s a rule within the kingdom, wolves done belong with humans. Teaming up against a common enemy in search of more power, Lena and Chris are meant to fix the imbalance between the humans and the royals. Definitely could not put this book down and cannot wait to see what April comes up with for book two!!

This book has prophecies, betrayal, action. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait until book two. I’m really hoping Lena’s two best friends, Ana and Callie, get their fated mates.

Lena is a kick ass wolf princess. She quite literally stumbles into a man who unknown to her, is her mate. There’s only one MAJOR problem… and it becomes the cause of her deception and subsequent fight for not only her love, but her very life and that of her people.

Fast paced, full of action, passion, fear, and ultimate triumph. I can’t wait for the next book.

This book was amazing. The relationship between father and daughter was rocky but her father loved her enough to change her fated mate to a wolf to save his life. From a kingdom that wanted nothing to do with humans to a human becoming the king, this book has thrills, chills and things that keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens next.

Oh my gosh! Seriously freaking loved this book! The way that April D Berry weaved in these slight twists and fast turn keeping me glues to the pages and often clutching my kindle waiting to see what would happen next. I loved this book.

The angst and suspense kept me turning the page and I couldn’t put it down.

This is an amazing book! I mean, who doesn't love wolf shifters! I loved the bond between Lena and Chris and what her father does for her-my heart melted. How everyone came together and how they were connected was awesome. The ending OMG need book 2 now!!
