After my Yaya passed away, I didn’t have anyone that cared for me. I mean, not even a month after Yaya was in the ground, he sat me down in the living room and sold me to a thirty-year-old man. I was sixteen, and my big brother, the man that was supposed to protect me sold me off like cattle on a farm. My entire life has been to please Zayne. I’m his fourth wife, and the youngest wife. Nobody has ever protected or cared for me. I was tossed the cards that life handed and had to make do with them. That is until Cappadonna Delgato and I cross paths-again.
All it took was for me to see her one time in that visitation room to know that I needed her. Alaia, her name literally means Joy and happiness, and I didn’t see anything of the sorts in her eyes when she stared into my eyes that day. As Allah would have it, our paths were meant to cross on the outside, and they did. I’m a protector, a provider, and a man, and I don’t think Alaia has ever had that in her life. I don’t care what I have to do or who I have to see to make her mine. She went years without knowing what protection and true love felt like, and I’m stepping up to make sure she doesn’t go another day not knowing how I feel or how I’m coming behind her. If I say she's mine, she's mine, and I've never been afraid to shed blood to prove it.
“Here’s to more bang- bang shoot ‘em up, emergency rooms and kisses on the nose.”
What’s better than one Delgato, ✌🏽!!! Baby Capone said get ready for my twin to shake 💩 up!! 🗣️AND DID!! I thought I was obsessed with Capone, nahhh what I feel for Cappadonna doesn’t begin to compare! I 👏🏽LOVE 👏🏽THIS 👏🏽MAN!!! Pressure!! 😮💨
We were briefly introduced to Alaia in Capone’s series and I knew it was something to her! I had no idea her story would take such a traumatic turn! She’s been through so much and just when she thought she was finally free from the devil, the devils brother appears. Well apparently he didn’t know there was someone worse than the devil walking the earth and while Capp tried to go the nice, reformed route, sometimes you gotta pop out and show 🥷’s that you’re not the one nor the two!
To everyone else he may have been the devil but to Alaia he was her guardian angel, her peace during the most chaotic storm and the one that would protect her life with his very own….oh to be loved by a Delgato 🥰😌. This man did not play about Alaia! From the very moments their paths crossed his number one goal was to create a soft life for her. Needs were anticipated and dreams were fulfilled. Capp is truly one of a kind! Only he can snap a neck then rock a baby to sleep an hour later 😩🤭
🎶 Do y'all 🥷’s bust ya guns? (Hell yeah we bust our guns!)🎶
This is the official Delgato anthem because if there’s one thing a Delgato’s gone do is buss em!!!
Erin you better!!! You came a long way sis!! She said I got that thang on me and I know how to use it!!! Capone need to be telling her “You come back to us” because who is this wife and mother putting lead in headsssss?!?!!! I love it!!
Love me some Chubs! 🥰
Nahiem please pack that baby up and go away! 😒
Kendra is you stupid or is you dumb?! 🤦🏽♀️🥴 Get ready for that slow singing and flower bringing because it’s over for you!
I had a feeling that plot twist was going to be the plot twist!!! Ayeeee ish just got real!
Capp has his plate full with all of these bum 🍑🥷’s he has to take care of! Taz, Ace, Raheem and whomever else, 🗣️COUNT YO MF DAYS!!
Brahhhhhhh!!!! This was WAY better than Capone! I fuck with Capp! That’s my dawg fr!! And that ending tho?!! 😮 I’m glad I didn’t give up on the Delgatos.
3.5 ⭐️ Hmm idk how I feel I about the big reveal at the end. Too much characters connected together. If Kendra not dead by the end of this season I know something ….
Bruhhhhhh Cappadona is insane and I love it! Alaia's story was heartbreaking but I see how she and Cap were destined! I really want life to give her a break. I felt that’s the only similarity between her story and Erin’s story. Speaking of Erin still got it so try her if you want to! Kendra is so delulu and honestly, I’m scared for her🥲. She got with the dumbest man possible and now the city is about to bleed red 🥴. This ending was so wild and I’m nervous for book 2 because one will Chubs be ok? Cap knowing who Aimee is and what he's going to do with that info?!? I lastly have this great suspicion that Taz is going to try and kidnap Alaia and Promise. He needs to go asap!! I am running to book 2!
They hyped Capp up so much in the Capone series that I couldn’t wait to get to this one and honey Jahquel did not disappoint, she is hell with these cliffhangers though. Capp is crazy and unhinged and I don’t know why these characters keep underestimating him and his twin. I can’t wait to see what happens to Kendra because Capp said women and children are fair game. 🫣
I was so into this story that I cried 😩 every time I had to put it down. However I finished it in a day so that should tell you something. I would like to say more but book two is calling 🤭.
I enjoyed season 1, however season 2 is off to a bad start for me. This was more or less boring as hell to me. I pushed through because I enjoyed Capapdonna, but the story like to me was boring.
The shootout in the car was repetitive. They did it twice in season 1, is this. Going to be the running theme for all the gun fights? It’s getting old for me.
Capp had beef with 2 different people and literally nothing happened until 10 pages before the end. Season one talked all about how Capp was unhinged but I didn’t get that as strong as it was portrayed. I know this is a five book series so maybe it’ll show more in the upcoming books, but it made for a very, very, very slow burn in this one for me. Also, Kendra! He didn’t even truly get revenge on her. Not that I wanted him to beat her up or anything but he just kept letting people go without repercussion.
Capella. Poor baby I truly hope he pull through because lord they just got each other and it would be sad to be ripped from each other. Also, his new born baby. I still don’t care that she’s Ace’s sister, I still think Cappadonna still to get at Ace for trying to kill his son.
Overall, I don’t know if I will continue, but I do want to see how things fair out with Capella.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I am loving this series!! The ENDING?!! I have to dive right back into the next one. Idk what took me so long to start this. The fact that it’s so many books seems daunting but the way these books are, you will have no problem gladly moving on to the next one, immediately! Capone is still my boo, but Cappadonna ain’t to be played with either!
When I tell you Kendra irked me so bad! She deserves everything that comes her way! She put me in the mind of Tasha. Rather run the streets than be a mom. Just grimy!
Why Jahquel play with me after every book like this? Ain’t no way it’s 12 am and she ended this book like this! Baby Big Capp don’t play and I’m here for this unhinged bout that life behavior all day every day! The characters, the plot, the shock I’m all in! Let’s go to book 2 😩😩
I knew I would love Donna (Capp) from when he appeared in Capone's books. The respect people gave him spoke volumes... but to see how unhinged he is?! WOW.
I know he is portrayed as unhinged, which he is, but he is also VERY disciplined. No one makes him change who he is at his core and that is admirable.
This book was good, start to finish. I literally could not put it down.
busting in the trap house, holding everyone hostage, doodoo-ing up the bathroom, and then giving a young couple (hostages, mind you) life advice……yeah cappadonna is kinda hilarious.
There’s so much I could say about this book. This book took me through it. It was everything. I was excited then crying. Laughing then angry. The storyline came full circle with a couple twists. I was invested from beginning to end. I can’t wait to read the next book.
If Jahquel can do nothing else, she knows how to make that last line of the book have your jaw dropping! The way she captures us with these stories is unmatched! I really enjoyed Cappadonna’s Book I and excited to see where all these new characters stories are headed. I absolutely adore Alaia, she captured my heart from the beginning and I’m looking forward to her character development. I’m worried about the mayhem Cap is about to reign with what happened at the end, but I’m sooooo looking forward to this ride. Another excellent read in the Delgato Family Series
Why is someone always getting shot? Is there going to be a cliffhanger in every single book? Don’t get me wrong, the story’s intense, and those cliffhangers have me with my jaw on the floor, but I don’t want to keep expecting some big twist at the end every time. Still, I love Capp and Alaia! I really hope Alaia finds the happiness she deserves—she’s been through so much.
When they said Cappadonna put the UN in unhinged they were not lyinggggg. Capone is an angel compared to him! I love Alaina so much and I am so invested in her story and healing.
☆☆☆☆☆ ——- The Delgatos always into some mess man! The whole family got screws missing and Capp is the main one. I really didn’t think he could be no crazier than Capo but boy he proved me completely wrong. That man doesn’t play about his AT ALL! I also loved how welcoming the entire delgato clan is to someone who is brought it and they jump with no questions asked!!
The story of Alaia And Capp is much more fast paced than Capone’s but i love me a man who don’t need time to figure out who he loves. Capone was dealt such a bad hand with Kendra and she is dead wrong for everything she done did.
My heart broke for Alaia man… She didn’t deserve anything she went through and as soon as her and Capp came into each other lives, hers changed for the better and I love how she is somewhat coming into herself.
Hey.. my bay Erin SLIDDDDDD! I’m sorry, I love my girl down man and loved how I still get to see them in Capp’s story too.
WHY DOES THE ENDINGS HAVE TO ALWAYS SHOCK ME TO MY CORE???? Because WTFFFFFF?? AIMEEE AND CAPELLA?? Pleaseeee stop playing!
There is so much I can say about this book alone… but what I want to point out the most is how well loved our FMC Alaia is. My mama heart was so so so happy to see a pregnant woman(who has been abused and used her entire life) taken care of. She was truly taken care of once she was out of her abusive relationship and that made my heart swell. I loved the conversation around c sections. Being a c section parent myself, this made me feel so seen.
I don’t know what she put in these books, but it’s crack complete and utter crack. Cappadonna has me in a chokehold. I love this man cause he gone ride for his family and is big on respect. I knew from Capone when he saw Alaia that was gonna be his girl I just knew it. Had me over here crying, laughing and angry. But that endinggggggg baby immediately ran and got the second book
5⭐️: Okay, listen now.... this book gave me all the feels and more. The way Cappodonna's story is unfolding and has me on this rollercoaster willingly, has me reading through this book so fast. Oh absolutely yes, running to book 2 now....
Coming off the final Capone book, I expected so much more for Cappadonna's story, especially after hearing from everybody just how crazy the nigga was supposed to be. And yet, Cappadonna wasn't any crazier than Capone was and this book was essentially a big, fat, bore.
I hated the insta-love between Capone and Erin and truly wanted to see something different with Cappadonna. Although the author says his and Alaia's story is their own, in many ways, it felt like a repeat of Capone. Cappadonna sees Alaia once in prison and immediately knows that she is the one for him. The reason I came around to Erin and Capone was because the author put the effort to write their love story. Capone and Erin had deep conversations and seemed to really connect. Cappadonna and Alaia say they love each other by the end of the book, but I never really felt their chemistry. He just always seemed to be rescuing her from whatever she had going on. And yes, they were both Muslim, but Alaia wasn't as dedicated to it as Capp was. I also felt like Capp was a bit forceful at times the way he talked to her. Alaia has had most of her choices in life stolen from her after being sold by her brother and raped by her "husband" and his friend. And although Capp came and rescued her from that, he was still really bossy with her and telling her what to do. I just wanted him to be gentler with her and recognize that his bossiness may not have been what she needed after having a life of being forced to do things against her will.
Capp, like Capone, was still messing around with his ex when he started wanting to be with Alaia. Kendra was a character that was difficult to understand at times. I didn't know if she was just seriously stupid, or if the author just wrote her character in a way that didn't make sense. Kendra would say things like she couldn't wait to get back to being with Capp when he was released because she'd held him down. However, what was she holding down? She wasn't flipping his money like Kesha Kaoir did with Gucci. She was spending it, and loaning it out to the nigga she got engaged to while Capp was locked up. Then to think she could hide the fact that they had a son together when he looked just like him. She just did things that honestly made absolutely no sense, and the fact that she really believed she and Capp would end up together was crazy. Capp did end up putting her out of the house, but before that, he let her suck him up. I didn't understand that. He was judging her for not giving up pork and liquor, and yet he was observing Ramadan and was supposed to be fasting and abstaining from sex and he was still messing with Kendra. I just was not the biggest fan of Capp throughout the book.
There is a bit of drama near the end of the book as Capp has gotten into it with Ace, who is Kendra's secret fiance, and Taz, the man who took over when Alaia's husband died. Unlike Capone, Capp was kind of stupid and reckless with the way he handled business. He smashes Ace's head into a plate when he catches him with Kendra (though why does he care if he always planned to break up with her), and pulls his gun out at a restaurant, and after Erin helps him subdue Taz's cousin, he spits on him, leaving his DNA behind. He also pulls up on Ace and yokes him up in front of everyone at the barbershop in public. Keep in mind, Capone has just painted the city red and the cops are still trying to piece that whole thing together. And Capp just got out of prison. (speaking of, where was his P.O.). Why was he drawing even more attention to himself? Other than the beef he had with men over Kendra and Alaia, he didn't seem to be handling any other business. Capone has handed him the reigns, but we don't see him do much for the family business in this book. I'd have liked to see him handle more, and also more time with his twin, Capone. For someone who'd been locked up for 15 years, Capp was a bit too calm. You'd never have guessed reading the book that he hadn't seen him family in 15 years.
Just like Capone, the book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. Chubs, or Capella has just been shot (much like Jaidan had been shot in the end of Capone I), and Cappa founds out he is a grandfather as the sister of his enemy just had his son's child. That was a bit confusing to me, Aimee's story, because earlier in the book she said that her baby daddy was upstate serving time when she was talking to Kendra at her baby shower. So what happened to that?
My favorite part of the book were the moments we got to see the entire Delgato family together. I loved seeing Chubs interact with Jaiden, and Erin with Alaia, and all of them with Jo who still lived with Capone. The Delgato family is a fortress and they protected each other and they all were super close. That family bond saved the book for me.
I won't lie. The story had me hooked, and I read it in two days, I believe. However, the possessiveness of the main character is annoying. Same with Capone and Erin. The men fall in love instantly and then say the women are theirs. Even the caption on the book is crazy. This isn't the love I want, but the book is entertaining if you overlook that aspect. Also, too many connected characters and the plot twist doesn't make sense.
SPOILER ALERT:
Aimee said her baby daddy was in jail at the baby shower, but then we find out that Capella is the father of her child. So either Aimee purposely lied to Kendra when she said that, lied to Capella, or it's a continuity error. I guess we'll see.

Cappadonna “Leroy” Delgato; He is the epitome of the sentence “ask about me.” Not only he ran that prison as a prisoner himself for the last 15 years, he’s finally out and ready to take back what’s rightfully his. This book was dramatic and chaotic in the best way possible. From getting his comeuppance on his ex for her betrayal to finding his footing back with his twin after being locked away, he never thought he would see the brown-eyed Muslim beauty again, walking the pavement towards the laundromat. It’s almost as if fate brought them back together.
Alaia—an angel sent to the pits of hell, no thanks to her disgusting, vile of a brother Raheem. Only being sixteen years old, she was traded to a perverted, polygamist for thousands. Even though her “husband” wounded up dead, she’s still stuck with a child bred from years of torture, abuse, and pain. Imagine to her surprise when her savior happened to be the man she saw in passing through jail visits.
These two people found one other; one with a hard barrier of trust issues with men, and one who’s willing to do whatever it takes to project his Joy.
୨⎯ CONCLUSION ⎯୧
ACTION PACKED. GRIPPING. PLOT TWIST AFTER PLOT TWIST.
This book was made for television because Jahquel is a true visionary. All the characters in this book—good or bad—have ways of entering your mind and invoking different emotions out of you. I loved every minute of it.
Jahquel J…you done messed up now because I’m officially in a wormhole.
